Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Review

Went there for lunch buffet but as always, u lose if u don't eat like a Nathan's hotdog eating competitor. The choices are varied and tasty. My friend feasted a lot more.

Had a great stay in sofitel as expected! Excellent staff!

Check in time was 2pm but we only got the room almost 4pm. I was a bit disappointing...they think it can be offset with late check out.

Stayed in this motel 2012 for the first time with a client from Australia and loved it. So every year when I go home to Philippines, Sofitel is where I stay before heading to my province and before I go back home to Australia. I get to check out late. My flight is usually at night and it's so nice that they let me spend the day in the complex where I feel safe. I can use the pool while I'm waiting to leave to the airport. I'm staying there again this year.

Food is great from appetizer to dessert but lack of drinks & juices for buffet, and the wine and other beverages is you have to pay, its not included in buffet. They have very nice views and the ambience is so relaxing, i think its a good place to have a dinner date

Great customer service. The food buffet at breakfast was exceptional. The room was spacious clean and well finished. Exactly what you would expect from this level of hotel. Just be aware this is not a hotel for people on a budget. The prices reflect the standards, all top end.

I have had experiences with your hotel not very pleasant and I am a little disappointed. I did not expect it from a five star hotel. Room I do not see very five stars and the service of some staff not very well, really. The breakfast great. I have no complaints

First the good points:
- the hotel is conveniently located close to the airport, it takes about 20min considering a quite dense traffic.
- there is a nice view from the poolside and the outside restaurant with a beautiful sunset.
- the staff is nice, smiling, and generally helpful
- the pool and the slides are fun for the kids, and there is several other place to play like an outdoor playground, abd indoor jungle gym.
- the breakfast morning buffet is gargantuan, like a small market place where you can shop for many various meals (great & fun the first time and then you get just tired by the crowd)

Then the points requiring improvement:
- for a resort this hotel is huge, there are so many guests, it's basically crowdy everywhere, forget about this place for a romantic getaway.
- we were there during a busy season and clearly the service suffered from it: long time to get the food in restaurants, staff so busy they forgot half of our requests (baby chair, etc...) or gave it when we basically had finished.
- cleaning needs to be improved (who likes to eat on a sticky table?).
- bad smell, at some floor, in the restaurant veranda, one morning the poolside smelled like the sewer.
- clearly not enough long chairs by the poolside.
- the hotel surroundings are just sad, long big empty road with buildings broken or in construction.

All in all, we enjoyed some part of our stay but bad points tarnished it a bit too much and thus this score.

Pleasant stay with spacious room and world class amenities. Courteous staff with prompt services.
Front desk and Concierge desk are very helpful and cooperative. Overall great stay.
Spiral restaurant is excellent and you can make it more impressive by having more choices of Indian dishes for lunch and dinner, especially vegetarian.

We had another best experience, ,the staff went out of their way to make our 10th Anniversary and my girlfriends 40th Birthday all so special. We booked the club lounge floor and we were upgraded to a even nicer room, the room was done up to say Happy Birthday ( it was very special) and my Girlfriend loved it. So all i can say is its always fantastic to stay here at Sofitel , its home to us, and the staff always treat you so special.
We keep coming back and have so for 10 years now. Thank you team Sofitel , Gladys , Thomas and Alfredo ( In Singapore) your a credit to Accor.

You will love this place if you love luxury stay. From checkin to checkout, they are awesome. They serve amazing and yummy breakfast. Philippines International Convention center is just in walking distance. Great hospitality and great place. Try to get room facing ocean for better view and romantic experience.

Agency guards manning the parking area are not trained on customer service. We were just here last week and the same drama about parking for bigbikes happened. Not to mention they look pretty drab as front-liners of global French hotel chain. They lost one star from the first customer touch point. They lost another star with food attendants in the lobby who probably lack training on attentiveness. But this was compensated for by extraordinary service from Ed of the lobby bar.

Overall experience went well. The service was outstanding, Friendly people and Rooms are spacious. Shout out to Chambers from Spiral for his friendly service.

Had buffet dinner with friends. It was great! Wish you could expand the parking coz it was full to the rafters even on Sundays.

While the quality of service continues to be high, but the rooms are truly showing its age (interior design/wear and tear). Although, it seems like this could be something that the hotel is already addressing as I have noticed sections are closed for renovation.

My fiancee and I stayed there for a short weekend escape for Valentine's and it was amazing! Not only is the view gorgeous and the message options great but the best thing of the whole weekend was the fact that the hotel is just a short walk away from an attraction called #theamazingshow. It is a special drag queen show with cultural aspects and it was SO AMAZING!! I highly recommend it to everyone who stays at sofitel to walk over to see the show.

One of the best if not the best hotel in Metro Manila. The view of the bay is an absolute gem. The staff is hospitable and they would go the extra mile just to make you feel at home. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

Sunday, December 15, my husband and I decided to try Spiral's brunch. Although we visited few brunches around Manila/Makati area already. To make my story short we drove there leisurely that day. To my amazement, the place is impressive. Buffet consisted of Japanese, Indian, Italian, International, separated sushi bar, salad station and much more.But most important thing I'm writing this review is to let people know how good the servers were. They made us feel comfortable and relaxed so we can enjoy our time there.Their names are Mark, Mary Joy, Jeffrey and Efrem. All of them were attentive, friendly and accomodating. We will surely go back there. Thanks guys!

Its a totally different experience from all the other hotels we experienced. Breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations. Chambers from Spiral has a very good service. Thank you for his warmth and dedication to his job.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, because we are attending a family event. Which means the whole clan checked-in on this hotel as well. Since it was a big affair, reservations for this hotel was done in advance and for months in preparations.
The overall experience was terrible. Price were not worthy of the experience, comfort and the hotel itself were not well maintained.

First, the check-in experience considering that we have confirmation of our bookings. And all the guest were already in the system under an event that has been booked. It seems that the staff doesn t know how to do efficiently. The queue wasn t even that long, it s just that staff couldn t process it very quickly. They asked us to fill up form, some staff kept pestering us What s your surname so we can start the process but only to found out they never came back!
It took us an hour just to check in.

The room experience, it is so frustrating to see your room s carpet and bathroom is subpar. For this price point? And boasting to have 5-star calibre hotel? I don t think so, I wouldn t spend this amount of money to be given a room, that the toilet has moulds in the ceiling.
Oh, let s talk about the lift it will take you ages to get to the lobby or to your room. 6 lifts that has a capacity of up to 9 person.
Buffet breakfast is the only thing that is worth mentioning here, it is massive. But as well as the queue it seems you are queuing for the airport security check.

The swimming pool is crowded, looked filthy and not maintained.
The hotel is so crowded, it seems that there is no sort of control the influx of guests, and they allowed people to stroll and visit the place even though they aren t checked-in guest. The more it become crowded.

But the security is excellent!
Will I recommend it? Definitely not. There are lots of hotel that can match or even slightly affordable but can give you a better experience and comfort. My overall experience with Sofitel is Will never come back. And even I am a global member of LeAccor club overseas it did not improve my overall experience upon checking in, durinf the stay and checking out.

Great service, great food, clean and comfortable rooms. However the facilities are not maintained at a high level. I experienced slow drains and lots of noise coming from nearby rooms.

Bugs and ants were in 2 different rooms on floors 9 and 10

The buffet is quite good, there are many varieties, especially foie gras, super delicious

Stayed here few times. Very comfortable,clean,luxury hotel. A bit expensive but it's worth the money you pay. Professional stuff,perfect and wholehearted service which obviously comes from Philippine nature. Recommend

It was awesome but when we arrived in our room, the bin in the bathroom had an awful smell! It's like a someone throw up on the bin but the cleaners missed washing or cleaning it, it's really bad as my 3years old daughter found it.

This is the Only place you should stay when in the Philippines! Unbelievable breakfast buffet!! Nice clean large rooms. Great customer service and you can exchange currency at the front desk. The lounging areas are great and always something to drink close at hand.

Guest service was excellent but first room was smelly. Damp smell. Call guest service Armmie. She was wonderful. Second room had a great view.

what an amazing hotel. beautiful decor and incredible food in spiral. we took the offered upgrade upon arrival which gave us breakfast every day plus drinks (both alcoholic and non) and snacks throughout the day in the vip lounge as well as a bigger/better room. well worth the cost. out experience here was wonderful, the only complaints i have is the man at spiral who would interrupt our breakfast every morning in an attempt to sell dinner to us which was pretty annoying and the song that was obviously written for the hotel that plays everywhere, over and over! other than those small niggles, i would highly recommend this place.

Had a wonderful stay at Sofitel. It was my husband's despedida and they gave wine, fruits and cookies as their bon voyage token.

Food at the Spiral was awesome. There were different cuisine to choose from.
Clean room but bed is too small. But we will definitely go back at Sofitel.

Im very happy to stay here. The staff is very helpfull and kind of me. So many varian food for breakfast. The room is very comfortable.

Amazing view from their presidential suites. Plus the Spiral, the best.

I stayed there once, but the room is generally so so, not in line with its star rating, and incomparable with other Sofitel I have stayed in (or the time I stayed was assigned a bad room?)

But no match for the invincible scenery.

I especially like the garden on the ground floor, lying in a hammock looking at the view of Manila Bay, I feel like I have nothing to say.

I often go there in the afternoon.

Great hotel. Can t go wrong with staying here. The amenities are great, but the food quality have decreased over the years.

We stayed here for a birthday salubong over the Undas holiday. Rooms are as expected, although it would be good to have bath tubs on most rooms (like in Manila Hotel). They have nice landscaping and swimming pool overlooking the Manila bay, great for vacationers. The place has a casino, outdoor Sunset Bar, indoor Spiral dining resto, and even flower service. Unfortunately, the Sunset Bar took 35 minutes for a beer and a cocktail, which would not have arrived if I weren't about to cancel the order. But this experience was offset by the staff in the flower service and concierge who made sure that my request was attended to.

Went here for Spiral. Great food and ambiance. I'll definitely come back.

Food as always is superb, no question.
Me and my family's first time to check in to celebrate our wedding anniversary. But I am so disappointed with the room provoded to us. It has leak in the ceiling causing the floor infornt of the CR to be wet. Called the CS but no attendant went up until our check out that is the time they went. There are mosquitoes, and the operator said because we opened the window. Nevertheless, it is a not so good stay. Maybe, I expect too much from your accomodation. Ita juat frustrating. Actually Sofitel Hotel is the reason why I bought membership in Accor.. Initailly have plans of using my other member of the day card with my inlaws but i guess I wont anymore as i dont want them to experience the way we have.. Thank you

Everybody know the place when they heard the word "Sofitel Phil. Plaza Hotel". I have nothing to say. Absolutely, I like the place very much.

The service at LeBar was great especially Joyce so friendly and service was spot on.

Didn't spend much time in the hotel just wanted to see the inside and it looks very nice. I may stay here next time i visit

My friends I visited one rainy night to have a casual chit chat at the hotel's resto. We just had coffee, tea and pastries. Cozy place and courteous staff.

Superior five-star hotel, close to Sea Side new seafood restaurant area, convenient transportation and food

Attended an event 02-01-2020 and the skewered chicken was really BAD! Undercooked and the inside meat was still raw. Most of the hors d' ouvers were too salty. Doesn't the Chef check these stuffs before itbgoes out of the kitchen to be served. Heck the coffee was even luke warm.

My grandchildren enjoyed the place most specially the swimming pool. In case of emergency such as small sliding accident they arealert and have their own clinic to assess & treat minor injury, thou need more training the clinic staff...

Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila is located on the waterfront and in an area with good shopping. SM Mall of Asia and Robinson's Place are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's popular attractions can visit Manila Ocean Park and Star City.

Extremely good attention and reception of the hotel staff. The hotel is very good in general, with good rooms and facilities. The breakfast in extremely amazing. We were very well attended due to our honey moon, amazing stay.
