I am very unhappy with this place after making a reservation a month in advance got to the restaurant and was told we could not sit where we reserved because we got bumped out by a larger group. We had a 8 o clock did not get seated until after 9..so from to 10:40 we're now been serve with course 1..mind you there are 4 courses.ontop of the waiting we were seated underneath the A.C. vent which is extreme cold.

I worked there as a dishwasher and I quit because I can't stand the fact that the Mexican lady called Maria is downstairs sneezing and cauughing on the food while she preps it , I bought it to the attention of several management members but I guess it's part of her soul on the food....
Descousting if I can't deliver sanitary quality food I don't need to be part of the team, it goes against my belife,,, I delivered kosher food for many years ,it's who I am.

We went there for Sunday brunch. It opens at 12pm on the dot. It's a little tight in there but they make the most of the space. The food presentation was magnificent. We had the lobster/shrimp and grits, the sweet potato pancakes and the chicken and red velvet waffles. The pancakes were just ok but everything else was exceptional. The service was good. Our waiter Rob, was attentive and kept us updated with the progress of out food. Cool spot.

Hip urban vibe soul food restaurant with an outdoor garden. Urban music along with a very trendy crowd.

Oh man, the food was very good and the bartender/waiter was great!! I would've given the restaurant 5stars but the wait times are long. I didn't have reservations though but next time I will definitely make reservations. All I have to say it was definitely worth the wait!! The chicken wings and the ribs were delicious!!!! Can we talk about the grits?!!! One of the best grits in a very long time yummo it was so creamy and tasty!! I can't forget about the macaroni and cheese!!! It was worth $13!!! AMAZING!! I highly recommend Soco!! I can't wait to return back.

The food is amazing! We had wings, mac n cheese,salmon and deviled eggs. All were delicious and my husband ordered a second wings. It was literally falling off the bone and the sauce was like one I never had.
Th drinks were strong. Will come back. Kitchen only sells wings snd mac n cheese during happy hour then opens at 5.

Great Food! The Lobster, Shrimp & Grits were delicious and that Dirty South Side Car was on point! Very good service was there with a large party and they were very accommodating and attentive.

We where seated the waitress took 30 minutes to come to table and took the order next to our table of 4. We left will never go there again.

I probably wouldn t come back. I came here for a group brunch, about 11 of us and the food was sub par at best. The wings were flavorless, the salmon was undercooked and the French toast was oh so sweet. The Mac and cheese was good though. The waiter didn t really make herself open to revive feedback or comments. The menu was also very over priced. The waiter also tried to charge us for an extra meal that never came to the table.

The service is remarkable I had a great time. The music selection is Hot period. The food Honey Dip Luv Muffin is everything to talk about overall the place is a 100 across the Boards, all thumbs up. A must go!

Had a confirmed reservation at 4, got seated at 4:45 and only after a lot of contention. After being seated, waited 50 minutes to get drink order, 3 of which were completely wrong. Still waiting for food, no sides or snacks offered while we wait at all. This may once have been best brunch place in Brooklyn but definitely not now.

I have been a couple of times.... The last visit made me a bit weary about coming again. The server Larry (name check) was terrible! Just AWFUL. The food was good, flavors are amazing but would have been great if the order came correctly. We got our food, OUR FOOD, before our drinks. He was not attentive or apologetic or anything. Just terrible!

I enjoyed Soco. The food is awesome. I suggest the Shrimp and Grits. The bar service was impeccable, however the wait staff may need a class in customer service. Please make sure you go and eat just please sit at the bar!

I visited this restaurant for the chicken and red velvet waffles. By chance I ordered the cheese grits, and they were spectacular. The wine choices were also quite impeccable.

Soco is the best I'll advise anyone to try the food especially the gumbo , grits with lobster and shrimps

Went with my homegirl to see what the hype was about. We all ordered the chicken and red velvet waffles and some appetizers. The waffles were soggy and tasted too cakey for my liking. I'd return for the ambience and drinks but not necessarily the food.

My teenage son and a friend ate here. He was charged $6 for water. He never asked for specialty water. Tap would've been fine. The fried chicken was fatty and tasted bad. The ribs his friend ordered were tough, Mac and cheese tasted like leftovers from last week. These teens were taken advantage of.

Brunch was delish! Had the grits with chicken andouille sausage entree. Mimosas were refreshing. Love the atmosphere

Took my daughter to do BRUNCH. The atmosphere is great! The service was good. My order the Blacked salmon was GREAT! My daughter ordered the Steak and eggs,,,,NOT so good. She sent the steak back due to being overdosed and it came back Tougher than before!!!! Overall the experience was disappointing

HORRIBLE SERVICE. They had us wait almost two hours for a table & when they told me the table was ready they still made us wait 20 mins. We ended up leaving. The hostess didn't want to accommodate us at all. She said my party of "7" was too "big". Meanwhile a table of 15 was by the door. I don't think I will be going back. She disappeared multiple times and didn't care about us at all. I heard so much about this place and wanted to go but now idk :(

I was so hesitant going here because I ve done a lot of searching for the perfect restaurant to share a wonderful family moment and I didn t know if I can trust this place but when I went , I was amazed , a lot of people and culture and very hip I love love love it and I will definetly recommend. I would have gave it five stars but the wait is ridiculous but I only think that was the case because they re were parties and events happening tonight. But definetly go !!

The red velvet waffle and white cheddar grits are excellent. The fried buttermilk chicken that accompanies it is average. And the drinks kinda suck. The atmosphere is a bit loud, but the backyard area is intimate

Everything they serve is fantastic! Definitely eat here if you are in the area. The chicken wings are some of the best I've ever had. The shrimp and grits is just ridiculously flavorful.

Food was so so for soco, pretty good service and the drinks are small and pricey, wouldnt list in top ten of soul food restaurant but it would make top 20

I arrived at 11:48pm & wasn't allowed to sit because I was told the kitchen was closed. However when I called I was told that the kitchen doesn't close until 1am! This restaurant always has issues.

What more can I say, soco is truly a magical place to enjoy a night of live music, sports, amazing food and wonderful people. The establishment is the right mood for all occasions. The food is unquestionable unique and delicious with enough food to fill your night with endless joy. Every time I go It s a movie and a party in mouth. I recommend Soco to all, you won t regret it.

They did an excellent job in making the chicken and waffles. It was very, very close to mine & that's why I give that a five star. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service classy.

So I am literally sitting in the restaurant now. I havent tried the food but the SERVICE is TERRIBLE! The manager Maurice is very rude. Did not see him smile 1 time. I came in on Thursday and met with Shawn. He however was AMAZING. Unfortunately Maurice left me and my party of 16 people with such a bad taste in our mouths. ALL was first time customers WILL NOT be returning

Chicken and waffles were delicious. Everyone one in my group enjoyed ALL of their food. We had shrimp and grits, shrimp salad, and caesar salad at the table. I can't wait to try all of the items on the menu.

Bouncer that worked on 9/9/12 at 6:15pm asked me twice to take off my hat twice when the everyone else was wearing one

I went there in the early afternoon around 230pm. Sat at the bar for happy hour and had the Mardi Gas In these small glasses which tasted good, followed it with a margarita before sitting at a table. The margaritas were ok. I ordered the Salmon entree and wasn t too please with it, so I switch and got the fried chicken with velvet waffles, great choice. The waiters are nice, the space is clean! It s a nice place to go to for a more chilled vibe. I d go back

GREAT BRUNCH SPOT!!! You need to make reservations on weekends. The food is so unique and amazing. It gets really busy, but it is worth your time and money.

I bought a fried chicken sandwich and the mac and cheese to go. The wait was fast and the food was amazing. I came on a sunday and there was a live DJ. I wish I had more time in the city the atmosphere was wonderful.

Exceptionally tasty food and even more exceptional customer care! Made a large order from SoCo through UberEats for delivery to my job. Part of the original order initially didn't arrive, which the carrier informed me. I was almost disappointed because I heard about how delicious the Chicken Family Meal is and really wanted to share the experience with the rest of my family. Before I could contact UberEats Customer Care, I received a call from Customer Care on behalf of SoCo's MANAGER apologizing for the inconvenience, and even better, reassuring me the other half of my order will deliver to my home address! Not only was my order delivered within the time promised, but the manager confirmed my family and I received it! The food was worth the wait, served hot and delicious, and definitely worth the price! Thank you again Mark and SoCo for making my family and I feel like valuable customers!

Very nice .. I loved the atmosphere and the food was AMAZING .. I had the Chicken with the red velvet waffle, my first time trying it and I fell in love, i also tried the grits which were great as well. Must try. The service was grade A and the server and other workers were nice and friendly

I go there occasionally with my family and I must say, the red velvet waffle with chicken was the BEST! I get mac and cheese with it too and that was almost on par with the the red velvet waffles with chicken. The service was awesome but it did take some time to get our meals, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Good food, just too cold, kind of noisy, and tables so close to each other... Everything on the table was savory and fresh though and the DJ was getting busy..

Mac and cheese is delicious!! Everyone who works there was very nice.

One year later the food is still hot and drinks delicious (though pricey) and the vibe still energetic and the service solid. Thank you for a good thing.

The "manager" was outside instead of managing
We paid $50 per head for a 3 course brunch and after all the nom-servive we got the waiter had the nerve to ask if we still want the dessert AND WAS SERIOUS SMH NEVER AGAIN

Good vibes. Outdoor eating is heated so it's a win for everyone in the winter. Drinks are tasty, mac and cheese is bomb. However the Catfish was a little high on the salty side. Other than that I'd come here again.

Good food and even better service. Some of the dishes lacked a little kick in my opinion, but overall the the food was good. Definitely try the wings, Mac and cheese, BBQ chicken, and Chicken and waffles.

Supposed to open at noon, because of technical problems didn t seat people outside in cold for 40 mins. When finally let in nothing to make you feel at ease. No bread on table, no offer of even a free appetizer. There seems to be a surcharge for everything. They have a policy if you bring your own cake/cupcakes it s a charge to eat it in the restaurant. Absolutely unacceptable. They took the box from our hands and at the end you say there s a charge. And you try to support but I know I won t come back to this place and it s sad.
