Booked online one day in advance, however we have been told out of rental gears when we have arrived there. Got the tickets refunded, but how about my time and petrol, all wasted. Bad booking system.

Have been coming here for a few years, can be quite busy some evenings, but it's a great place to learn to ski or snowboard. There's usually special offers all year round, so don't be deterred by the cost

We enjoyed lots of fun in the snow to celebrate a family white Christmas. This was followed by a delightful Christmas meal together. Snowplanet staff were fantastic right from the original organisation through to their help on the day. They went the extra mile to make sure that Nana(92) was comfortable right through to providing colouring pencils for the littlies. The food was great too.....

Not Happy. Spoke twice on the phone last night and they never mentioned that the restaurant was closed for a function and the tubing was also closed for a function. We drove from up north especially with our extended family. Try explaining all this to two young children. Ruined our day

It is a bit pricey to enter and hire gear (almost the same price as the mountain) but they have deals with cheap entry and hireage. Friendly and helpful staff to help you find the right sized gear. You are allowed to bring and use your own gear.
Facilities are quite nice. Two pommel lifts on either end that takes you to the top. There's also a magic carpet for the beginners area. One side was for riding while the other was a terrain park with jumps, rails and boxes.
Nice evening out to learn to ski.

Snowplanet exists only because it does not snow in Auckland, or anywhere in the North Island for that matter. Unfortunately, this alternative to mountain skiing is boring, overpriced, dominated by little children, and ultimately more dangerous than real snow sports, thanks to the overcrowdedness and careless staff.

Not happy.

Not happy.
Unfriendly as staff. Worst rental gear I've ever seen in my whole life. I work in the mountains, if u would hand out stuff like this, people would throw it back in your face, not to mention it wasn't busy at all and they didn't had a size 10 snowboard boot... pretty much the most common size... when asked for refund, they recommended to go a size up or down. Yeah right.
Overall experience was really bad.

Was so amazing to see both Faith and Charlotte working here. They so looked after our kids during all those school holiday programs. It's 1030am on Saturday and my son is loving it. Not too busy, getting about six runs an hour...

The winter wonderland really don't have much to offer to little children and they charged around 14 dollars per hour for visiting,I found it a bit expensive,if they have indoor playground that is reasonable but nothing much in the winter wonderland so not really satisfied with it

I took 120 students to Snow Planet over 4 visits. 90% of the students had not been to the snow or snow planet before. this provided them with an extremely special and affordable learning experience. They were given lessons either snowboarding or skiing and were able to build their confidence in the skill at their next visit. The staff their were awesome, they were patient, had good systems in place, a huge range of gear available and were flexible with last minute changes we made and students hiring gear. We would definitely go again.

Great place for family fun if don t want to go up the mountain. Highly recommended. If you are after lessons, I would recommend 1 instructor to 2 student to get maximum benefit. Our group was too large and the instructors were not able to look after everyone

Took my year 5 & 6 students there on Thursday, and what a great experience! The lady at the front desk was kind and caring, the instructors were AWESOME, and the burger meals were just delicious and well priced. Thanks Snow Planet; we'll be back for sure :-)

We came in at an inconvenient time. They were in the middle of fixing a portion of the slopes so we didn't get a chance to try out their facilities after havin drove a bit. Having said that, that's not on them. It was just a case of wrong timing. Even so, after having seen the place, it wasn't that enticing to look at, for someone who doesn't ski or snowboard that is. A bit too small and bare in my opinion. That's all. Personal preference. On the other hand, their cafe/bar/restaurant and lobby were cozy.

We bought a pass for skiing and snowboarding for 2 hours, with the rental equipment and clothing; so it was a bit expensive. We had a great time despite the crowd. If it's your first time, it will take a while to get into the boots and clothing. You can either pay for lockers to leave your belongings or just leave them in the changing area. If you're planning to get into skiing or snowboarding properly, I suggest you bring a jacket, pant, helmet and a snowboard or skiies, so that you don't have to pay for the rental equipment. You also have options to go tubing, and just play around in the snow in Winter Wonderland.

We really enjoy this place. It's an activity that can be enjoyed for the whole family. Go online and view the discounted deals on certain nights like Thursdays and Sunday's to get some good value for your money. Staff are very informed friendly and helpful. My daughter of 12 can't wait to go back and my sister of 28 is pushing to go as soon as possible.

Seriously unaccomodating to beginners. I was there with two young kids and some of the staff made us feel like they d have preferred it if we just turned around, walked straight back out the door and went home. We shrugged it off and battled on regardless but I felt like saying I m sure you were a beginner once to one staff member in particular.
In fairness, one of the staff was awesome, which is why this isn t a one star review, just wish the others would have been the same.
Place itself is great - but our experience left us thinking it could be so much better. All it takes is a bit of understanding - we re not expecting a free lesson but a quick 5 minute chat to get the newbies out there wouldn t hurt surely?

I leaned to snowboard here, and my wife ski. The instructors are friendly and patient, and the facilities are awesome.

Good food and drinks, ideal for taking a break and recharging your batteries before launching back down the slope.

Quite terrible service. Friendly down to earth people. Took an hour to just get the boots and boards. Not to mention that they never seem to have snowboards available. We have to drive an hour to get told - Sorry, get a refund or deal with it.

Also, what s with the uniform? A bright yellow T-shirt with the F bomb? Where s management?!

Wow, is this place expensive... especially if you don't own any gear and have to hire it. Yet, we still had a great experience. Took our little ones out there for the day and they absolutely loved it. The cafe gave us the same feeling as we had when we were at Coronet Peak. Reduce your pricing especially for little ones and you'll have a lot more locals over weekends and school holidays. Never the less a fun family experience!

Really disappointed in the service here tonight and to top it off when your equipment failed in the lifts and my 6 year old had to get his pass out every time he got the lift (not easy for a kid with mittens on) hence the pass got lost and then to be told bad luck no refund on your card!!! as a business owner I would be mortified to have my patrons treated with such disregard. I would say we easily spent over $1000 between a group of 14, 3 generations of family
Would be happy to elaborate on this should the owner wish to follow up.
