Snow Planet is an awesome place to have a company event. Lot's of different activities for everyone and a well run restaurant areas with great food and drinks. The Staff are very friendly and helpful, highly recommended for corporate events. Special thanks to Lucy who looked after us for the day.
Nice place, even gave us a refund when the lockers swallowed our money, and all the staff were great
great fun close to Auckland. Expensive and can be hard to get set up for first timers but great experience once set up
Good staff and a lot of fun. Try get grab one deals or other discounts as it is expensive
Lovely Christmas decorations, friendly staff. Good overall ambience.
Very nice specially for skiers or snowboarders beginers.
As big as this is, I feel it would be even better if it was bigger - like it's Australian counterpart.
Snells Beach School would like to say a HUGE thank you to Debbie and the team at Snow Planet for accommodating our Year 6 students yesterday! Debbie was super supportive from the first email/phone call, helping to organise a fun day for our students who had missed out on their camp to Tongariro, not once - but twice, this year. Everything was easy - the kids were well organised and well looked after by the instructors, the food was catered for well with a super selection for the children, and a fun time was had by all. The children especially enjoyed the Winter Wonderland hour at the end of the day. Highly recommend for any school groups. Thanks again.
Great for kids to keep skills up. Inside in the warm for me Really nice facility for year round snow access
Normally this place is fantastic staff and all. However resently half the center has been replaced with this winter wonderland hut. Now all jumps and most tricks have been removed. The whole tubing area has also been removed. The remaining area to snowboard or ski has been made for beginners only. This winter wonderland seems very much like a one time thing. After seeing it once I cannot imagine kids would actually enjoy it or want to go back to see it again. I would not recommend going until this is changed back to normal.
We went in as a group of 24 the youngest being 4 and the oldest 67. Everyone had a great day. Staff were fantastic all around and for the snow adventurers there was an activity for everyone while the less adventurous sat in the cafe and watched through the window. A great family day.
Indoor winter recreation center with artificial snow for skiing, surfing, toboggan with possibility of courses but also rental equipment and clothing to not be cold.
Good enough for practicing but too narrow to flex or strech.
Good coffee Not over crowded Discounts offered
Great place for a birthday party, Snow Planet did all the food, lollie cups, decorations and cake. Kids had a great time on the snow getting 1 hour lesson then 1 hour of play. Great day!
Our team from Modtec opted for our end of year Christmas Dinner here, a group of 27 people we opted for the Christmas Buffet and set ourselves up with a bar tab. The team at Snow Planet made it easy and were very accommodating to our needs. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and the food of which there was plenty. Would definitely return.
7 summit 3D dining experience- this os amazing and the food is out of this world- a must experience!omly one in the aouthern hemisphere
We visited the restaurant at the start of the school holidays. The facility was badly understaffed. We were served a raw chicken skewer and told to cook it ourselves on a rock grill. This is ok for beef and lamb but unacceptable for chicken. It took 45 minutes to get the food. The staff did not seen interested in helping. We are a group of six people. Our food was served at different times with perhaps 20 minutes between the first and last person being served. The bar was unable to serve the first round of drinks I ordered of the menu because they had run out. We also tried to order lemonade but they had also run out of that.
Excellent choice for staff function - great fun had by all on the slopes and wonderful meal at the restaurant. The staff couldn't have been more helpful
Fun day at the Winter Wonderland. Winter Wonderland very festive. Plenty of tubes for everyone. Sledges also available for those a little nervous to go tubing. Cafe was super busy and took over 45 minutes to get drinks we ordered, but place was mobbed at the time we ordered so staff were over run with orders and clearing tables.
Great place for family activities, kids lessons are run well. Staff are helpful and overall pretty good experience so far.
Great place to have fun with a few friends or even solo if you're planning on getting good but they can be very crafty with casual pricing with gear, helmet and pass adding to the basic fare
Great spot to muck around with the kids on the tubes for an hour or so, pick a quiet time and it's great fun, gear all available to hire if you don't have snow gear
What a wonderful place to enjoy 2 or 4 hours on fun on a real ski slope. The staff are great and a special thanks to Michael who looked after us so well. The apres ski cafe/bar is also a cool place to hang out. Highly recommended and good value too.
Awesome experience, helpful staff, great restaurant and lovely ski instructors.
The kids had holiday ski lessons, they had a great time and it was very reasonable priced, definitely recommend it for the kids, I might get a family annual pass as it looks fun
Great place to brush up on skiing before going to Queenstown, although place fill of Asians who can t ski & snowboard they hold up the pommer ride and wipe out other skiers
It was the greatest. Friendly and helpful. Great for all ages and abilities. Great facitlities
Called 4 times the day before to confirm I would be able to use my ski bike but had no one awnser. I left a message with my name and phone number but did not get a call back. I showed up and payed but then they told me I could not ride it because it was too busy. Ended up snowboarding instead.
Fun place to hang out with the family. Very busy but staff are helpful and friendly.
Best place to go on a hot summers day. But the tickets and restaurant is way to expensive.
Don't forget your gloves, its a chilly winter inside snowplanet. Awesome for kids of all ages, my 2 year old loved tubing! Bigger kids loved everything. We didn't ski or snowboard this time round, winter wonderland held our attention, then inside to the dining area for a hot cup of chocky & lunch to warm up. Loved it!!! Highly recommend for all ages
Great place to go mid week of season for some non-stop fun
Always a great day out. Awesome place to lock down those tricks you want to try and progress before hitn the mountian in the winter.
Great fun. The instructors we got dor private lessons were amazing, friendly and patient. The staff were all super helpful. Would recommend a lesson if its your first time, the first time package was great and just what i needed to feel comfortable. Wrap up warm because it is cold and waterproof clothing is a good idea. Would recommend to anyone thinking about skiing or snowboarding
I took my OED class. The instructors worked with my class for an hour teaching them the basics of skiing and providing some team building activities. Students then had 3 hours free ski or snowboard. We all had a great time and will definitely look to return next year.
Good place for kids to learn snowboarding or skiing. Just food prices a bit expensive.
2.5 stars The winter wonderland has been the fall of this place, large portion of the field is taken up by building prefabs you cant go inside and fake trees. Barely even seen anyone in the winter wonderland. first the construction meant not many other shapers to make jumps etc. but there hasnt been a big proper jump since the construction.
DO NOT GO TO 7 SUMMITS. Massive wait time, hardly any staff, and good luck booking a table. Left multiple phone messages amd heard back from no one.
A good experience can be had here, especially if you grab a deal via Groupon or grab one etc. The restaurant is quite good, lots of seating and a view of the slope. Plenty of parking onsite. Friendly service at the front counter and restaurant.
Staff are nice and helpful. But the place gets really crowded
Such a cool place to have in Auckland, the kids loved going there for tubing, and then to try skiing. It can get really cold so you need to go well covered as if you were at the mountain, minus the sun! Great cafe and an awesome place to celebrate kids parties!
I visited Snowplanet in early 2017 and I honestly had so much fun! It felt so realistic and I loved the little 'lift' mechanism on both sides of the space. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I would definitely go back next time I'm in Auckland!
Dirty snow, has never been changed. There are pretty many stones and pretty much ice on the snow after new magic carpet built. They are very dangerous if you fall when you are riding. And they will reduce the life of your equipment. Update after SP reply : Will keep the comment until they done the construction and snow refresh. 3 Oct 2019
We attended with our U15 Rugby League team, and they had a blast! Most had never been to the snow let alone skied / snowboard. It didn't take them long to learn on their own. Great Place, Great Atmosphere, Awesome Service. I feel the group pricing is quite reasonable too. I'm planning on having my sons 10th Birthday here in Feb 2020.
Great place to spend the day, especially with kids. Is very expensive though
Disappointing, construction going on, not sure i will visit again unless construction completed
Great fun. Make sure you wrap up as its chilly on the slope but snug as a bug in the cafe.
A wide variety of experiences available from the Not so sure! to the Let me at it! kind of people!
We were a group of 10 and we all enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely come back.
Had a great first time here. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and showed me what I needed to do. Can't wait to come again!
We have been bringing our Year 5 students to Snowplanet as part of our EOTC week for the past 4 or 5 years. We felt that this year's visit was the best yet. We liked that all the children were challenged and therefore seemed to make more progress that in previous years. A huge thank you to the wonderful instructors.
Good for practice if you haven't been skiing for a while, but quickly gets a bit same same. Would recommend going as early as possible as it does get busy!
A bit pricey. But it would be expensive to keep running, so fair enough. Always busy after hours. Best to try time your adventure to fit in with quieter times to enjoy course with less pressure.
Snowplanet is great fun! The snow is very hard, not like real proper snow so if you fall it's not always that great. There's something for everyone, they offer free wifi while you're there. Non snowboarding/skiing visitors can enter the actual snow dome as well, just remember to dress warm as I think it's about -5 degrees inside the dome. The food was great at the restaurant. They also have a shop area where you can purchase snow items. I absolutely love the drinking bottles they sell!
I took a friend for dinner and tubing here last week. It's a nice facility with great staff but the tubing itself is sadly a bit dull considering the short track. It's more of a novelty than a thrill and it may get boring quite quickly for most people. I found the food was delicious, however my friend found the steak too salty and the curly fries overdone. I'm glad I only paid for 1 hour of tubing, it was fun but we struggled to stretch it out for longer than 45 minutes.
Great venue, only no place to make snow angels or just play in the snow.
There can be a bit of a wait on the slope but it is a nice place to be
As a regular snowboarder who lives a long drive from the closest snow mountain I really appreciate this place. Whilst I have my own gear I have rented from here before and they have a huge range of Snowboards, Skis, Clothing, Helmets etc etc. Everything you could possibly need is located here. Great restaurant food for those who are watching. Beginner areas for those who are not so experienced and then a large slope for those who are more confident. Check the website for regular deals on pricing too. Great place for family, friends and kids.
Great snow fun for the kids but the coffee there really needs improvement especially at the high price charged. Watery and unpleasant taste every time so won't buy there again. Maybe time to change supplier or get barista training.
Went tobogganing with the kids. Was a bit of a wait to be served, but they added on time to compensate. Kids (5 and 7) had a blast! Would recommend two pairs of socks and gloves are a must!
Great tutors here. Definitely worth booking a lesson if you are new to skiing. Update as of dec 31st. The xmas wonderland grotto feature is apparently permanent. It takes up a massive lower slope area funneling all skiers into a narrow channel. Dangerous for beginners and school groups. Not great.
For competent riders the run is short, but that's what you get at an indoor slope. Jumps and rails are great quality but could do with more constant grooming at busy times. Great for what it is and there's usually good deals online and at certain times. It's kept at constant -2 to -4 so rug up.
The people here are great and the snow is well cared for. A great day out is offered!
Awesome place to go :-D :-D the waiting lounge is like a ski resort setting log fire an you can see straight into the snow slope wow
Rental equipment cost should have some discount for family
Expensive understaffed & not as good as you would expect & Santa was late
Tourist attraction where the whole family can ski on ice
