All four entrees we ordered were extremely bland and lacked all flavor. Wouldn t order from here again.

Excellent, every single time. This is not your typical NY style Chinese food, this is made with great ingredients and caring chefs. Snappy Dragon is my favorite place to get Chinese food in all of Seattle, by far.
Been coming here food over a decade. It only gets better.
This was actually the first time I ate in the restaurant. Have always only had delivery. The staff was attentive and courteous. A lot of tables as typically the case at other like kind restaurants. So not the best for a private conversation. However for just a casual conversation it's perfect. The Vive is low key and laid back. Worth checking out. The food is very good consistant quality. What I have come to expect over the years.
First visit. Best I've had In Seattle in 32 years. NUFF SAID.
We have been going here (or getting takeout) for many years, and have enjoyed it. I have to say, though, that the more recent lunches and dinners have been kind of... underwhelming. I don't know exactly what's changed, but the tastes and textures are not impressive compared to other Chinese options...
This is one of my families favorite spots. Food is fantastic, service is friendly - you can't beat it.
The best American Chinese food I've ever had. The signature dumplings are terrific, as is the Hunan Beef. Add a baozi to whatever you order, you won't regret it.
Their Mandarin fried rice and salt & pepper chicken are my favorite.
Great taste, a lot to eat for the price. General Tso chicken, snappy fried rice and happy family
Best potstickers I have had since my Aunt Gui left my Uncle! I went in on a whim, and had the best Chinese food I have EVER had outside my Auntie's home. I didn't even know how much I needed a cup of tea until I saw it on the table. I felt so taken care of. Very excellent family style restaurant.
Amazing family owned and run restaurant!! I can t recommend highly enough.
Service was slow; food was delicious. Will definitely be going back!
The best chinese food, period. I've been going here since i was a babe in arns and nothing has surpassed it.
Judy and family are such great hosts - even as covid has closed dining rooms in the area.
Been eating here for a decade. Favorites are the curry noodles, jao zhi and homemade chow mein noodles.
Website and voice mail says they open at 11am, however, I cant seem to get an employee on the phone to do takeout. Sad.
The owners are fantastic. This is located in the heart of Maple leaf super friendly and speedy service. Our favorites are Hom Bow and the Dumplings. We can never stray from our normal dish sesame chicken. Portions are big family style. Our family of 4 can only eat 2 dishes of the menu.
Absolutely love this place! 26 pork dumplings and chicken chow mein with homemade noodles!!!!
Decent Chinese. House made noodles are worthy. Sauteed green beans have way too much sauce.
Wait staff completely ignored us. The appetizer tasted like a heated up jar of jiff peanut butter. And the chicken with pineapple cashews and snow peas tasted like nothing at all.
I saw all the great reviews and decided to come here for myself. Unfortunately I couldn't even finish the meal because it was so bad. The wonton soup was literally a grocerie store pot sticker in watered down soy sauce. The pot stickers tasted good, but the bun was super thick. The chowmein with house noodles literally tasted like old grocery store Chinese buffett; little pieces of tasteless red pork and hot mustard included. From the other ratings, I'm assuming that the head chef recently died. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
Second time here. A family friendly environment, with a warm cozy feeling. Tables are close together creating an almost communal eating setting. Known for the dumping and hand made egg noodles, personally I have had better but I would return for another meal.
I'm so glad I finally found a Chinese restaurant in Seattle with delicious authentic food. Big servings and great prices.
Best Chinese food ever (and I eat a lot of Chinese food). The hand rolled noodles are absolutely amazing and the jiao-zi dumplings are scrumptious!
Some of the worst, if not The Worst, Chinese food I've ever had the misfortune to eat. Tried the place on the bases of the strong google reviews and I don't think we just caught them on a bad night. The sweet and sour was just plain sweet. The chicken, over battered which resulted in it being mushy and gross. The beef was over cooked and flavourless. The potstickers were completely pale, and far too big, the pastry too thick while the meat inside was dry.
I tried Snappy Dragon for the first time and noticed the restaurant was full just 20 minutes after opening. The food was good and the service was great. Definitely want to try this again soon
Great gluten free menu! Sizzling rice soup will turn your frown upside down!
The low mein noodles are incredible (made fresh, obvs).
Was not at all happy with any of the food humble okay fine was probably the best part besides the squid and my girlfriend only like your fortune cookie humble could have been offered as either steamed or baked
It was crazy busy on a Sunday night. Super glad we made reservations, still had a 15 to 20-minute wait after a reservation time. But all good. We had a great time. Service was very good. Will certainly return.
Always good. The green onion pancakes are amazing.
Turn the heat down...
I was confused at this place. The staff were all very young which is fine, but it was extremely slow. I also could see a staff member in a little office like place eating food while we are waiting a long time for our checks and for our plates to be cleared. Probably won't go back unless I'm right in the area.
Great noodles and dumplings, and generous portions - prepare to doggy-bag.
First off I want to say they way they packaged my food for pick up was phenomenal! We ordered hot and sour soup (delicious), salt and pepper wings (flavorless, no salt or pepper was on them whatsoever), szechuan (sp?) garlic beef (delicious), veggie chow mein with house made noodles (I feel like I should have been warned, this is not your regular chow mein. The house made noodles were 'ok', mushrooms were bland ((ps why mushrooms??) It was not what we were expecting and were disappointed) and a sprite.. We love Chinese takeout and wanted to give SD a chance, the food was alright but there are other restaurants we will be returning to before SD
I keep hoping the last experience is a fluke but this neighborhood highly rated spot continues to disappoint.
The egg rolls are marvelous, so is won ton and sweet sour soup.
The rest mediocre at best. Too salty and unimaginative.
Lastly in times of covid not being able to make a note/special request in order is a true lapse.
I'm sorry this is the reality.
Best Chinese food in the area! We go here often and always have prompt and courteous service. I love the mooshu!
Beloved family owned Chinese cuisine. Always busy and worth the wait.
If large portions are what you want, this is your place.
Often have the Chicken fried rice and chow mein and their version of orange chicken.
The homemade steamed dumplings are absolutely delicious
Bland bland bland
Came here during peak busy time. Lots of people picking up to-go orders, expect to be crammed in the front entrance. Seems very popular in the neighborhood. The staff here handled things fairly well, looks like some good systems are in place: they had some folks whose whole job seemed to be taking to go orders in little booths in the back. We were seated in a reasonable amount of time. The dishes we had and their ratings out of five are below:
General Tso's Chicken
3/5 the best dish we had here. Closest to flavor as they came tonight, though didn't quite make it there. Nice texture and the presentation was beautiful.
Boiled dumplings (pork)
2/5 very doughy. Flavor was ok but the overwhelming amount of dough brought it down.
Steamed Bao
2/5 very doughy. We were excited to see such a big bun, but it was so flabby and soft. Pork was alright, though hidden in about 200% more bun than there needed to be.
Snappy Dragon Chow Mein
2/5 We had this one with the home made noodles. They were a nice texture but completely flavorless. The meat and vegetables were lacking and pretty plain as well.
Green onion pancake
1/5 not many green onions. Texture was decent but overall very bland. Kind of tough like a saved and re-used flatbread.
Had lots of leftovers, will be looking up some sauce recipes to serve them with.
Very high quality food! Caution though.... big portions
First of all, I was so happy to see that somebody actually has GLUTEN FREE Chinese takeout food!! So I was prepared to be satisfied even if the food was "meh". But no need, because it was DELICIOUS! The portions were huge too, and even though they were slammed with business (Oscar night), the service was so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming again :)
I was excited to try due to reviews and this place being around for a while. It's also short drive from my home so excited to find good chinese place near home. However, the food is quite bad. The potstickers and wonton had very thick wrapper so that it cooked unevenly and some of the inside was still raw tasting. The wanton soup was caramel colored but tasted so strange and artificial, I can't even name the flavor. The other stuff just had weird red color to the sauce. It's too bad....
Delicious! Small building and was very packed, I hope they are able to upgrade to a larger facility soon! Great gluten-free choices, wonderful tea, and delivery to boot! Try the shrimp mushu with white rice
Was disappointed on this trip. The food was very salty and the veggie noodles had barely any veggies in it. The floors were dirty, tables were sticky and the container holding the sugar was splattered with a sauce from a previous diner. The wait staff seemed out of sorts as well. I have been coming to this establishment for decades, sad to see it declining.
Been eating there for over 2 decades! Love Judy Fu's cooking!
Quick cheap lunch. Can get busy during dinner hour.
The food and service was pretty decent, but the decor and atmosphere were pretty tacky.
50 min and $20 after delivery and tip, the General Tso's chicken was so bad I couldn't even eat it. I'm not even sure if it was chicken. BAD FOOD.
We have ordered take-away from here before and have been pleased with the variety and the tastiness of the dishes. However, this time the food was rather disappointing. There were no sauces added for many of the plates we ordered. Crispy duck had dried out steamed buns and no hosin sauce. The BBQ pork was dried out and also had no sesame seeds and Chinese mustard. The Ho bow was had no flavor and the bun was dried out. The scallops were overdone. The beef dish was rather under par as well. The seafood fried rice was the saving grace. Oh well. we all have our off days.
Always good to come back. Been coming for years. Try the Chow mein with homemade noodles. Doesn't disappoint.
They have the BEST dumplings I have ever had, and they do a really good job with their home-made egg noodles! They're a great little place to get some great Chinese food. Don't believe those other bad reviews, they don't know good Chinese food.
Great takeout! We have ordered takeout many times and have been impressed every time with the speed and the care the staff takes to make sure our gluten free items are safe.
Got food poisoning from the sesame chicken. It was large portions though, which was a positive initially.
Best Chinese food in the greater Seattle area!
No parking, street parking is tight and not enough tables. But absolutely love this place.
We came here for the gluten free offerings and really enjoyed it, at first. Over time the quality of the food declined, especially the meat- it appeared to be slightly old.
A great local spot and the folks in Maple Leaf should count their blessings! We went for the gluten free offerings but everything was great! The portions are more than generous and the prices very reasonable. The service is very good and low key, making for a relaxed dining experience.
Great large portions, but for the price they should be expected. The sweet and sour chicken was okay, but would be better in smaller pieces. The beef Chow Mein with hand rolled noodles was not good. Everyone raves about them, but they cause the Chow Mein to take on a different vibe and flavor unconsistent with classic Chow Mein. They are very doughy. The beef in the Chow Mein was not good quality, very fatty. The bbq pork also has a different flavor than classic bbq pork. I m sure this place is really enjoyable for people that don t care if the meals are authentic.
A local Seattle institution, go especially for the dumplings. Hand made on site by the original owner, they are fabulous! The rest of the chinese menu is pretty standard but I should add the Snappy Dragon noodles are outstanding. You can buy some of the sauces that are used by the cooks at this restaurant.
Snappy Dragon has been a family favorite for many years! My favorites are the homemade chowmen and the green onion pancakes but everything is great. f you see her her sauces in the grocery store get them!
Best Restaurant in North Seattle! The food is delicious!
Favorite family place for their Jiao-zi dumplings and Chinese dishes.
The food here is always so good, and there's always enough to take home, even if you only order one dish per person.
Tonight they were a bit off their game in house, but take out was going gangbusters because their food is so good. We had a party of 12 and I noticed that they had two parties of 8 scheduled just after us so service was a bit strained.... maybe all the take out? Whatever, still very good and more often than not definitely 5 star!
Chinese food and the setting at this spot is excellent. I love it here. I've had nothing but enjoyable experiences here and plan to keep visiting. Prices were fair. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Atlanta.
Their food is nothing like authentic chinese food. Green onion pancake is very stale and oily. And fried seafood handmade noodles has weird taste and overall is not good. It tastes much better after adding chili sauce...
Service and food are good. They tend to cook their veggies very lightly, so it's more like hot raw veggies rather than Al dente vegetables. There is a variety of Americanized choices, like deep fried stuff covered with sweet sauces, but there are more authentic dishes, too. The space is small and very popular, so it can be very noisy, though not so much that you can't have a conversation. It's always clean and welcoming.
If you come here get the handmade noodles with a chow mein best thing on the menu
