After waiting for 3 hours, I called to find out my address was out of reach. They never called me. Awful experience.
After waiting for 3 hours, I called to find out my address was out of reach. They never called me. Awful experience.
I have to get the homemade noodles, the barbecued pork and the mapo tofu everytime I go. We also get the green onion pancake at times. The lunch special is a nice deal if you can make it during those hours
The food is always great! We especially love the spicy green beans and the homemade chow mein noodles.
Great food with good service, but the place could use a good cleaning
I, in the past, was a huge fan of Snappy Dragon. I very much enjoyed the vegetable chow mein with the homemade noodles. On a Saturday, not too long ago, I placed an order to go for the chow mein. I am a vegetarian, and was acutally using a coupon from Vegetarian's of Washington for this meal. The customer service was great, and the wait time wasn't too bad. The bad thing was, opening my lunch to see meat in my vegetarian meal. I was so very disappointed, to a point that I will not return. :(
Very good food, loved the Kung Pao chicken and calamari. Very busy place and for good reason, so be patient with them!
This place is terrible. My father in law wanted to eat here because he and my husband's family used to eat at Snappy Dragon frequently in the 90's and they loved it back then. This was my first time eating here.
The General Tsos Chicken tasted like it was made with buffalo sauce. It was gross. The buns for the crispy duck were hard as a rock and inedible. The crispy duck was overcooked. The chicken fried rice had no flavor.
We also had an order of the vegetable spring rolls. They also had zero flavor or spices. It was shredded cabbage and a tiny piece or two of a carrot. There was zero seasoning or any other vegetables inside.
The portions were huge but it didn't matter because the food was terrible. What a waste.
With many other amazing places to eat in Seattle I don't understand how people like this place. We won't be back.
Never disappointed going to Snappy Dragon! Love their jiaozi and hand rolled noodles.
Everything was awesome except the food which was, I felt, below average.
Ordered takeout and it was SUPER fresh. Friendly staff and great quality and speed. Definitely recommend this place!
We ordered Tomato Beef, spring rolls and hot and sour soup, with tea.
The food and recipes were fine, but they used rancid beef. Both me and my fiancee barfed on the sidewalk outside. We could taste the rotten meat. Most others in the restaurant also had frowns on their faces so I assume they were serving the whole restaurant rotten meat.
The recipe was good though. I would have sent it back but we were late for a movie.
Always consistent and big portions, friendliest neighborhood joint around!
Delicious!! Try going at 11am for lunch hour and take home leftovers. Favorite food in Washington
Love their wonton soup and lunch combinations. Lots of food and even great for delivery and take out. They are always on the rotation.
This is our favorite spot! We drive a distance to eat Judy Fu s dumplings and homemade egg noodles. They have a large selection on their menu but we always order the same things because it is so good! My kids enjoy sitting on the barstools so they can watch the dumplings be made. They are typically really busy on weekend evenings so arrive early or expect to wait a little while. A lot of people call in a takeout order to avoid the wait. There is street parking and in the evenings the midwife clinic next door has a few spots in their lot.
Really good Chinese food and gluten free available on request!!
The potstickers are worth the effort just to go! The wait staff is fun and attentive and the food is one of the best in Seattle.
My favorite for over 20 years here was the Sweet and Sour Shrimp. One day, the owner, David Fu brought me over a little sample of his Sesame Chicken saying he had made a little too much, and would I like to try it? My new favorite is now 3 stars of heat on the Sesame Chicken. David's staff makes the best BBQ pork, and my family just LOVES the fried rice. The won tons and Jiao-zi are delicious. Snappy Dragon often wins Best of Western Washington for a reason.
The seating area wasn't the nicest or tidiest, but oh my goodness the food was so incredible!!! The service was good too, and there were SO many gluten free options. Both things we ordered, especially the Kung Pao chicken, were stunningly delicious.
Super welcoming, cheerful, fast, delicious Chinese food. Try the handmade jiaozi and also Mandarin fried rice wuth extra shrimp.
Such a wonderful place! The food never disappoints and staff is friendly. My personal favorites are Sappy Dragon Fried Rice, Sesame Beef and their signature dumplings. But then we have loved everything we've ever tried! Easy to find, easy to park - always a treat to go there.
Best Chinese restaurant ever. Home made noodles on your next Chow mein, trust me.
We had a whole lot of good food and great service by Ardell and her helper. They were right on with food and drinks. Great job ladies.
Snappy dragon probably doesn t need this review but they always do such a great job. We always get delivery and they don t charge for delivery almost hard to come by that in Seattle. Their food is authentic and delicious and the portions are large we always individual plates and have enough to share for two days.
The chef is my friend because I like the Szechuan Chicken :)
Okay, but I usually find better in the freezer section.
Love love love this place! MKe sure to try their homemade noodles!!
I have been going here since 2007 and the food here is amazing. You actually get decent size portions. The general Tsos chicken and the chow mein with homemade noodles is the best item on the menu.
I don't know how this place has such high reviews. I was highly disappointed. I only ate it because I was going to have to pay for it. Flavorless. Service was good the gal Becca who served me was nice and helpful so that's pretty much the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. Maybe I should have gotten something else? But if a basic chowmain tasted horrible, I don't know that I'll be back to try something else. The beef didn't seem high quality the chicken and shrimp were okay. The noodles were dry, had to mix it up with the liquid on the bottom but didn't help much. Fried rice was mushy over cooked also no flavor. Wonton soup was okay nothing special and the bbq pork was dry and bland. Some salt would have helped if there was any near by. Didn't bother asking. Didn't even want to take left overs home. My housemate said they were really good, I'll have to ask him what he normally gets. Not impressed.
Best Dumplings in Seattle, always a short wait, and quick service. One of the best Chinese restaurants in the state (And I have been to a lot of them).
Always excellent food and well worth the wait. Pro tip: get the house made noodles if you're ordering the chow mein! You may scoff at the upcharge, but they are more than worth it.
Absolutely the best homemade noodles! I always get them when I order a noodle dish here. The potstickers are exceptional as well. And be sure to ask for extra dipping sauce - yum!
The last three times I have ordered for pick up, it's never ready by the time they say. Over an hour for a pick up order and then it's not ready when I show up. Get it together....
Great dishes and dumplings cooked to perfection. Truly outstanding.
Great for families. Great Asian food, not overpriced.
Was awesome place good service and the dumplings were out standing
Delicious American-Chinese Restaurant.
Great menu and try the homemade noodles.
Little overpriced.
Awesome! Food was superb
HUGE portions, worth the price!!
When you charge for rice and then deliver cold, old rice it's an insult to your customer. The food is okay, not restaurant quality. But I'm not going to give any stars if the staff feels I don't deserve hot food.
Great place everyone who likes Chinese food and a nearly a t home eating experience would gladly put up with parking a block away it's a pleasant walk
Great food great service great EVERYTHING however wish it was closer to my house, like in my front yard lol
Drove all the way from federal way to try this place for the first time (based off of reviews and coworker suggestion). Only thing that was decent was the Hot & Sour soup. If you have every had good Chinese food before, don't believe the 4/5 star reviewers. These are people that live in the area and go here out of convenience. Food is extremely bland, noodles are overcooked and the handmade dumplings were too thick with very little stuffing (listed as a favorite item). Save your money and make the extra trip into Chinatown for flavor!
Good appetizers and fried rice. My sesame chicken needed more flavor, but it might be better with more heat. The rest of my party really enjoyed their meal.
I have been going here for 15 years. The owners are super sweet and always make a point to greet guests. The food is handmade and amazing. I always love their mu-shu chicken. Their dumplings are also a good bet. The hot and spicy has a bite to it, but always warms me up on a cold rainy Seattle day.
When ever I am home I make a special trip to Snappy because it is one of my favorite restraunts with quality food and staff.
My favorite place for Chinese food. Atmosphere and service are a bit lacking, probably why there's often a line out the door to pickup to go orders. My family loves their homemade noodles and dumplings, personally I find that anything that isn't spicy there needs a bit more flavor but luckily they've got a tasty hot oil and smoked pepper flakes if you ask for them. Portions are great for sharing your meal family style and you'll likely come away with leftovers.
If you absolutely love garlic in its every form, this is probably the restaurant for you! We don't, and did not enjoy our meal. Don't get me wrong an appropriate amount of garlic is a wonderful thing -- Snappy Dragon on the other hands appears to be attempting to singlehandedly prop up every garlic producer in the nation.
Between two dishes (Mapo Tofu, Snappy Vegetables with Scallop) there must have been 10-12 cloves which just overpowered any other flavour from the food. See attached photo for a side shot of the Mapo Tofu. The small floaty white bits are 100% pure garlic. I'm sure that's appealing to someone, but it just wasn't for us.
I've been ordering the Chicken Chow Mein with Homemade Noodles for 20 years (along side many other dishes). I keep coming back because this place is awesome! Totally recommend. Say Hi to Judy Fu herself while you're there!
Get the general tso and they make their own dumplings here!
Very good food! Not PF Chang. Great sauces and very fresh.
The dumplings here are the best. I also recommend their ants on a tree
Snappy Dragon is amazing! The food is awesome and so is the staff! You should know to get their early because is gets very busy. When I was in highscool I used to love getting lunch delivered. The curry chicken, chow mein with house noodles and dumplings are my all time favorite.
I have celiac disease, so I'm always on the hunt for places with good gluten-free options. This one has them, and they do try to avoid contamination if you explain the severity of your disease. Also, the Melon Ball doesn't seem very strong, but I don't even remember finishing mine (though I was told that I did) or much of the evening afterwards.
The good reviews enticed me to give this place a try. 1st time in for a late Saturday lunch. Very sorry to say, the food and price (for lunch) was a disappointment Maybe it depends on what you order???
The tangy, crispy eggplant was incredibly strange. Sauce on it was good, but it came out in very large pieces that looked like large pieces of fried chicken. A lot of breading, couldn't really taste the eggplant buried inside and not cooked! The white rice was old, not fresh. The prawns with veggies was ok, not much flavor or sauce, alot of heat, which is good, but no flavor, veggies were bland, mostly water chestnuts and bell peppers. Tasted like they threw the prawns into an already made veggie dish (not like a freshly stir-fried together)!
Reason for 3 Stars: The host was very friendly and my server, JEFF was GREAT!!
Jeff - You really made my experience at Snappy Dragon good. Your very kind & gracious way of handling a not so great situation and giving your best to ensure excellent guest service is worth noting! I hope the owner/manager recognizes you and appreciates having you on staff!
Thank you again for doing an outstanding job!
Excellent food. Congenial. Freshly made dumplings. Fast becoming an institution.
Food was ok. I ordered the Mongolian chicken. Found all of the flavor in the bottom of the plate. So mixed it all up. Only ate about 1/4 of it. Figured good leftovers. But not so. Rest of food was good. Service was good. Thanks
You know what you are getting with Judy's. To give it a rating of less than 5 stars would be a shame.
These rating 'stars' are not to indicate the class of a joint.
If you take into account the owners, history, dedication to consistency and vibe, this place has 5 stars in each category, let alone on food quality, which is as original and authentic as this style of chinese food gets, really.
This restaurant specializes in classic, fairly priced American-Chinese food. That is what we want. The dumplings are delectable. The home made chow mein is wonderful. The dumplings have a firm shell and soft textured meat center that has allll of the flavors. The chow mein noodles are firm, have a great texture and a perfect buttery oil on their skin.
'Foodies' try hard to stand out in a croud, so to speak, and are often a disservice to us average food enthusiasts. It often feels as though they stew (yum!) on a point and allow that point grow like a cancer in their critical, short-sited minds.
I like Judy's, give her a try. Remember that they are often busy, so plan ahead and get dem dumplings while they're still around.
Fantastic food. All fresh and handmade. A must visit if you're in the area.
Always get the home made noodles and the dumplings. Those are the best things on the menu.
Very enthusiastic staff. Very authentic Chinese cuisine, in a great neighborhood!
Do yourself a favor and eat way too many dumplings.
Hometown Favorite & Hidden Secret: but, you will wait to be seated unless you go on non-busy hours. So very worth it.
Staple for Chinese food in north Seattle. Great sauces, which really make it. Sometimes the quality of meat isn't super high, but there's not too much to complain about.
This place has been my go to for great Chinese food for at least 15 years, and if anything it's just gotten better. Great food, good service, and very reasonable prices make this a place to check out for sure. (Highly recommend the lunch special.)
Solid Chinese eatery in a town where Chinese food is hard to find. Outside the International District, Seattle is mostly Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese.
Excellent food and the noodles made fresh are the best!
good food. fresh. fast. reasonably priced. nice staff. highly recommend.
Good food. We told them we were on a tight timeline and they accommodated very well.
Always be going here! Everything tasty at snappy dragon and the wontons, spring rolls, etc are made in house. Always good a day later for leftovers also. They deliver! One of my favorites!
Really liked the texture of home made noodles but all the food was fairly bland. Maybe geared for generic crowd.
BBQ pork is gangster, local favorite, high prices and closed earlier than said on Google but aside from that pretty legit Chinese for NE seattle.
OMG, wish I had known about this place earlier! Delicious food in large portions, served quickly despite having every table full. Huge menu that knows how to accommodate food allergies. If you can't find something delicious to eat, it must mean you just finished eating another dish and you're full!
So good! Lots of great options and their lunch specials offer a lot of variety at a nice price.
