This is the fourth car that I've leased from Smart...
This is the fourth car that I've leased from Smart Motors and the second one working with Al Franklin. He was very helpful through the entire process. He provided timely information on different options (I considered either a sedan or a truck) and answered all of my questions, no matter how tough they seemed. Throughout the process, he gave me room to make my own decisions - he wasn't pushy; he was very patient with me. When I picked up the car, John Morrison walked me through pairing my phone with the car, showed me the mechanicals and safety of the cabin, and demonstrated all of the electronics. This part took the longest, because there is so many new safety features to learn. John Titley got my financing set up ahead of time and walked me through the signing without any jargon. I don't think I spent more than a few minutes taking care of the paperwork. I really appreciate the staff taking time to make sure I'm confident with my new car.

I took my 2012 Camry in for routine regular maintenance service and to have two minor, but time consuming, recall items corrected. Setting up the appointment by phone was excellent by the Smart representative, including a call back to confirm that the recall part for the passenger restraint was in-stock, and all of the work could be accomplished in one visit. I was offered a loaner car since the recall work would take most of the day, but I declined since it was convenient for me to drop my vehicle and leave it. For my benefit, I dropped the vehicle off late on the day preceding my scheduled appointment. Since I have a prepaid maintenance plan that will cover regular service for the next five years, I asked the service tech to walk me through what and when service should be scheduled. The tech did a great job of explaining the schedule and prepared a sheet for me to keep for my reference. The only routine maintenance work required for this visit was tire rotation, vehicle inspection, and renewing diamond windshield treatment. To my surprise, the tech called me the next day at 9:00 am to say that my vehicle was ready for pick-up, indicating the service was started during the evening after I dropped off the car. When I arrived, the vehicle pickup went quickly and smoothly with no delay. The only negative comment, was when I got home I noticed the vehicle had not been driven through the car wash (back window was dirty). I am not sure the vehicle wash is routine for this type of routine service appointment. Overall great customer service and everybody was extremely friendly, and everything exceeded my expectations, except for the absence of the car wash.

I recently bought a car from Smart Toyota. I had put off getting a new car for quite a while because I usually detest buying cars. I get easily overwhelmed by pressuring salespeople. I ended up finding a car listing (used) that interested me when I finally, begrudgingly, started to research and I set-up a time to view the car (Toyota Camry) at Smart Toyota.
My salesperson (Tim Nugent) was delightfully friendly and helpful when I arrived. The location was clean, accommodating, and welcoming. Everything was really well explained to me when I asked questions. I didn't feel pressure or discomfort by the staff. When I did decide to get the car, I was so surprised with how much they offered me on my trade-in. It was above and beyond what I had been expecting. The Camry was ready to go for me-- washed with a full tank, and they helped me every step of the way during the car transfer. They even pulled both cars inside while it was raining, so I could move my stuff from my old car to new somewhere dry.
Overall, great experience. The wait was a little bit long during the paperwork step, but they were very busy at the time and were doing the best to accommodate me, so I can't complain. I will definitely shop here again.

One of our cars was totaled during the recent heavy rains we had this summer so we were looking for a replacement in a hurry. We knew what we wanted as a replacement. We looked at various local Toyota dealership inventories online. We found a reasonably priced pre-owned RAV4 at Smart Motors. We called to make sure the car was still available and went to assess it that afternoon. We worked with Seth at the dealership. He was knowledgeable and great to work with. We went back to the dealership the next day, got the paperwork taken care of and drove the car home that day. Seth made sure the car was prepped and washed for us when we got there. He even put the license plates on for us. I highly recommend working with Seth and this dealership.
Now the not so good part.
The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was the web site. I made an online inquiry to see if the car was still available. I got an automated response back via email saying that someone would contact me shortly to let me know. I heard nothing back from anyone for a very simple question for a day. That is when we decided to call and talk to someone directly and get an immediate answer. After that, it was smooth sailing.
Bottom line, I didn't have a good experience with the web site but was very happy with the people and service I got at the dealership.

Service was completed quickly and nobody tried to sell me another service I really didn't need. Again, the most professional staff I have ever dealt with at a dealership. After talking with a service manager, I brought my car in for an expensive repair. The manager had verbally confirmed what was wrong with the car and what parts that they would be replacing. Not only did they not do the full agreed upon work, but after the "repair", which they may not have even done, it still doesn't work. They quoted me an hour for the work, it took them nearly three.
When I said it wasn't fair to charge me full price for them to not fix my problem, they threatened to impound my car. No remorse, no empathy, no help on actually fixing the problem. They even fought with me about taking a coupon I had presented well ahead of time and tried to charge more than the price I had in writing.
I was willing to pay a lot extra to get genuine Toyota parts and genuine Toyota servicemen to do the work. I wanted it to be quick, painless, and to be done right, but this experience was anything but painless, and despite all the time and effort, I still have a broken car. It's quite clear now that their high prices go into their giant palace of a building, and not into actually helping their customers or providing good service.

I was satisfied with my used car buying experience but not impressed with the service dept. We had a slow leak in one of the tires ever since picking up the car two months ago. I called and left a message for their service area, explaining that we've had this leak since buying the car and hoping they'd cover the cost of repair. I didn't get a call back for a couple of days. So I called again and left another message. The next morning I received a call and was informed that because I don't have a warranty on the tires, they would not cover the cost of the leak, but that it's $45 to fix. I said I'd shop around.
I doubt I'll be back when we need a new car or for service unless it's covered by the warranty. I don't want to continue to do business with a company that can't cover something trivial like this when it was clearly an issue at delivery. Lost a customer.

Today I went in to get a "express oil change" because my car said that it was time for one. I pulled up and was greeted and a man told myself, my husband and my two small children to wait inside. We waited for over an hour, just to find out that they didn't even do an oil change because it wasn't really due for one. Don't you think you could have told me that immediately when I drove in and skipped waiting for over an hour with two kids under the age of 4?? I definitely was not happy and am considering not taking my prius back for service here. With all the technology out there, can't they figure out how to scan my VIN # immediately and tell me that I don't need an oil change on the spot? What an utter waste of my time! Plus, to top it off, they wanted me to get several other things serviced when they came to tell me all of this. No way! I wouldn't call this "express service", it's more like snail-paced service.

Went to Smart to find our next Toyota as the previous Highlander Hybrid was fast approaching 220,000 miles. The Rav4 Hybrid was out target and the staff at Smart provided us with multiple vehicles to test drive as well as ample descriptions of the various trim levels and what exactly they provided. We decided on all of the options and our sales person diligently chased down a unit that was leaving production in Japan. While we waited for the ship to cross the ocean and transit to the dealership our sales person provided updates as to where our RAV was and the latest anticipated arrival. The RAV finally arrived and Smart quickly prepared it for us. The day of the pickup we received detailed guidance on the safety features and we were off. Thanks to Smart and their team for making this easy.

Love the service and dealership, but when my last regularly scheduled maintenance happened, there was a safety recall that I forgot to mention. In the past, the service department (here and at other dealerships) would realize that a recall was out there and address the issue. This time that did not happen...and now we have to go back again. It would be great if when service is being performed a quick check on any recalls could be done as part of the standard service.

This dealership claims to be the largest Toyota dealer in Wisconsin, and one look at it will pretty much confirm it. Although large, there's no lack of attention and to my surprise (and relief) no pressure! It kind of reminded me of a auto-expo center, there was an air of fun to it.
I bought a new Camry during my visit and it was a no nonsense, smooth transaction. I drove away with the car I wanted and felt very satisfied that I had gotten a good price on it.
I HIGHLY recommend Smart Toyota if you are considering any of the different vehicles in the Toyota line up. It's worth your time to stop and see what they have to offer!

I appreciated the excellent service that we received. People kept us informed as we waited in your very nice waiting room. It reminded me of a hospital with doctors in surgery, nurses assisting, volunteers providing coffee, etc. Unfortunately, although our car had repeatedly refused to start, it performed perfectly for the "doctors". After all the tests were done we could only guess at what was wrong. Since then all has been fine. Maybe the car was just looking for a little TLC. There was no charge for the time and care that we received. :)

Finally our finance person was Dana. She also was very friendly and helpful. She explained all of the options that we had to protect our car. Overall a great experience at this dealership with this personnel. It was well worth the 3 hour drive for us and we would both be willing to do it again for the next one.

I took my car in to have the breaks inspected and the oil changed. When I picked up the car the front windshield had a 8 inch crack in it. They took no responsibility for it. If there is no crack when I drop it off and an 8 in crack when I pick it up its your responsibility. They also charged me $40 for the break inspection and $20 for tire rotation. The tires were already removed for the $40 break inspection what was the extra work to rotate them. I believe there service department is a dishonest and I will not go back.

We had a great experience! We went through pre-approval with our lender and then Smart staff walked us through the rest of the process. We knew which car we wanted, and by the time we got there (we live over an hour away), all we had to do with sign the paperwork. The process was completed in less than 24 hours, with 1 trip to the dealership. Our sales rep (Phyllis) was fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our financing experience was stress free and Lee had us out the door after 10 minutes with him and the paperwork. The car is awesome! I will even go back to Smart for the maintenance work!

Madison newspapers are provided-- tv too but turned on to HGTV. Love that show-- but at night time, not at 8:00AM--prefer to see a morning news show.

Got my Explorer from them. Has squeaky parking brake and belts since I got it, these issues should have been solved before it even went up for sale (belts and brakes should have been replaced before selling. Very cheap and fast and ensures a safe reliable ride). I was in their office SIX hours waiting to be approved for financing. Maybe not their fault, I was denied by lender after lender (had terrible credit at the time), but they could have sent me home to come back the next day. If sitting at their location for 6 hours is a common occurrence they could have had more comfortable chairs, comp'd soda and snacks, etc. Their prices are also pretty terrible for many vehicles. I got a $5000 "discount" on my Explorer, which in reality simply brought their asking price to its ACTUAL retail value. So, it is likely they overprice everything, and then give everyone a "discount" to make it seem like theyre getting a good price. So, pretty standard for a car dealership. But, overall it was ok. They were nice, and I needed a nice vehicle for once so I put up with terrible chairs and no food or drink (aside from bottled water) for six hours.
In the end I wouldn't tell anyone to avoid them, but nothing about my experience would make me recommend them, either. The only bonus over other dealerships is they have a special program where they can get financing for people with REALLY bad credit (like myself). It is supposedly an invite-only program tho, and Im not even sure how they choose people to invite. I never applied or signed up, but got the invite in the mail. After literally weeks of investigation on the net to make sure it wasnt a scam, I agreed to come in. If you go in for their poor credit program, be warned you will NOT get the vehicle you want. You will get whatever vehicle the banks and/or lenders will OK them to finance for you. It will have to fit very specific criteria. My options were an 05 Explorer or a Milan. After an hour or so, I was informed the Milan was not an option, so it was the Explorer or nothing. And Explorer was not what I wanted, but I know them well, so I figured why not. The criteria for what you will be allowed to finance is very strange, tho... I would have much rather gotten a higher mileage Lexus GS350, or Infiniti G35x (both worth less than my Explorer, given its very low mileage and impeccable condition).

Several months ago my wife misplaced her key to our Prius V. Since it never showed up we decided to have another key made. These new keys are expensive, but they have to be lazer cut and programmed. The people at Smart Motors could not have been more courteous and helpful. I got an appointment at a convenient time, was told before hand it would be about an hour, waited in there very pleasant, comfortable waiting room, and was pleased the key was finished in less than an hour. I have been to other dealerships but this is the best.

We had no problems with our purchase at Smart Motors. I We felt we got a fair deal on our new Rav 4 hybrid. They had a huge selection of the new Rav 4 at the dealership to choose from. My wife and I are both pleasantly surprised by the gas mileage on this vehicle. Our Rav 4 hybrid actually gets better gas mileage than advertised!! One other thing the dealership has a lot of amenities and treats for the customer while you are waiting for service on your vehicle. Our salesmen was well versed in all of the features of the vehicle that we purchased and took the time to answer all of our questions.

My experience at Smart Toyota was above and beyond my expectations! The service I received was incredible from the time I stepped through the door up until the point I pulled away in my new vehicle. When I expressed my gratitude for the service I was receiving, I was told "That's what we do." And I tell you what... They do it well! It was a pleasure to deal with such a wonderful group of people.

Maybe our experience is the exception... we lost a key to our FJ and received a quote and appointment to create a new spare one from Smart Motors. The quote was originally for a 100 dollars (amazing how expensive it is to make a key). Made the hour plus drive over and once we re in the door, they informed us that it would cost an extra 1000 dollars to replace a computer component to work with a new master key. But as a consolation prize my wife got her finger nails done. Buyer beware...

SMART MOTORS TOYOTA has fantastic customer service from start to finish. Back in August 2015 I picked up 2nd my new vehicle from Smart, which is a Highlander and since then I have been back to SMART for an oil change etc. SMART provides white glove customer service 100% of the time, it doesn't matter what you are there for, whether it is buying a vehicle or having your vehicle serviced. It's a fabulous experience as everyone is so nice and accommodating, no other dealership in the area can replicate SMART MOTORS touch!

So just like all the rest, if they can not up sale you on the sale, then they don't want to do business. They will have you thinking like many others they can not finance you. Car buying is a hassle because many dealers is trying to get the most out of sale.
Well lets do the math. Cost of vehicle (Up to $45, 000 or more) + dealer fee ($299/$300) taxes ($500 to $1, 000), License Plates & Stickers, or Temporary tag for out of town buyer (Me: $250-$500) Gap Coverage ($500 or more). Well that is how your down payment ends up looking like chicken feed. How they say they can not finance you.
Will promise you the world. Over it. Want get my business. Writing letter of cease and desist all communications and sending by certified mail. I wish I would get so much as a happy birthday. i'm suing for harassment.
