Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Cheryl at reception. Definitely worth a stay over when visiting. Beautiful scenery and excellent food.
A 4* hotel that really should be 5*
Can't beat this place for view, atmosphere and service!
First stay in this grand Hotel, beautiful inside and out, rooms spotless, extra comfy beds, staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Thourly enjoyed our 1 night stay.
Grand old lady of the Down coastal areas. Delightful rooms, well furnished and maintained with unobtrusive but top notch services offered. Large indoor pool and spa area was let down by sheer volume of 'day pasd' non-resident using the facility and crowding out the paying room guests
Brilliant, loved it. Spa was nice. Breakfast was very good.
An excellent location with a very pleasant room setup, its only letdown (in my opinion) was the buffet style breakfast which was heated up to a rubbery consistency!!
Loved the amazing view and place. Very famous for relaxing massage and spa there. Should visit once. But if you guys looking for something cheaper option this one is not for you
Hotel rooms and service is brilliant I recommend going love the place
Lovely evening listening to painist and live music to follow...attentive staff also
Fantastic birthday retreat with my partner, food was delicious, service was great and staff were very hospitable. If you are booking a spa treatment the facilities upstairs are fantastic and well worth it...I wish I had booked my treatment for the next day to have longer use but I would highly recommend
Lovely view great friendly staff and very helpful would definitely recommend it
This is such a magical place. Everything you could imagine under one roof. Fantastic place to stay relax and unwind. Great food and attentive staff. My favourite is the spa, the view of the mourne mountains is breathtaking.
Great amenities, great service and wonderful location
Beautiful historic hotel, lovely Easter decorations, friendly staff, good food, great spa and pool. Only our room was a bit small for a family of four and it was too packed for Easter.
It is a very good hotel, On this occasion I was only in for the carvery lunch which was very good indeed.
Great room. Great views. Great spa. Great food. Great staff
Can be expensive (especially the bar!) But really good pool and food, and location is great.
Lovely overnight stay for my birthday .Staff great .Room with a view of the sea and mountains. Loved it .
Peace, tranquility, beautiful surroundings and great breakfast. The beds are sooo comfy.
I have had to a few spas at the Slieve Donard. I would def recommend to anybody who is looking somewhere to relax. It has got amazing view looking out onto the famous Mountains of mourne that swipe down to the sea. Spa area is quiet and relaxing . Spa therapist could not do enough for me i didnt have to worry about anything but relax . Swimming pool area has sun loungers , steam room and Vitality pool. Juice bar for light lunch and gym . I cant wait to book next spa
Lovely meal at a wedding after christmas but cakecwas served before it was 'cut' and the coffee was cold
We had a weekend here.. Lovely and relaxing.. Lovely sea view room, gorgeous spa and dining facilities.. Great experience..
Fabulous location, amazing facilities and great staff. Definitely will return.
Went for afternoon tea. Was a bit disappointed in the food. Felt rather basic. No flair that you would expect from such a hotel. But lovely, lovely place and would consider staying there for a night kid free!
The hotel has the most beautiful scenery. The beach and the mountains surround the hotel. The staff is always polite and helpful and my kids love the little ducks they set out for the guests. I haven't went to the spa on either of my two trips but my couleges tell me it is wonderful.
Really happy here felt really safe with everything that they are doing.
Well worth the long journey to Slieve Donald resort .Beautiful part of the country.
Absolutely fantastic all-round. Staff, spa, food. Very comfortable rooms and beds.
Gorgeous property in scenic Northern Ireland. Rooms feature seaside views and common areas are appointed with wood burning fireplaces. Service is impeccable. Nearby Slieve Donard is a great hike and offers great views of the countryside. Newcastle is an interesting little town with loads of shops and decent restaurants. The Spa at Slieve Donard is also great, offering a variety of services. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway or those wishing to spend some time in the Irish countryside
Everything was top shelf for our irish experience. Make sure to head to the pool/spa.
The hotel was immaculate! The staff were absolutely phenomenal, they couldn't help enough.
Amazing place, 1st class service and all over make you feel wonderful!!It's not first and definitely not last time we spending our weekend there!
Loved it, the needs to be a little polishing of the staff but the facilities and location gr8. One of the best spa and gyms I have been to in a very long time
Love this hotel, pool is very relaxing when classes are not on. Last time we went was for our 4th anniversary and they left us some lovely macaroons with congratulations beside then in the room, really made it special for us.
We checked out the spa, got a fitness massage and a relaxation massage, both were great and exactly what we needed.
Had cocktails at the bar on the last day, very strong for me but still lovely and came free as a seasonal spring cocktail with the room
Lovely hotel. Great views, location, service & breakfast. The only negative was the piano music in the evening. It was too loud.
We went for a wedding, lovely place, fantastic views, really friendly and helpful staff.
Very pleasant and well mannered staff. Excellent spa and leisure facilities, including gym, sauna, steam room, pool, and jacuzzi with an open view of the Irish Sea and the Mourne Mountains. Room was very spacious, providing all necessities, and a very comfortable bed. Food was enjoyable, with a good selection.
Was here for a work event, food undercooked. Roasties pale, parsnips hard!
Fabulous location with stunning views. A delightful hotel to stay for a few days and unwind....
The saddest thing I can imagine is to get used to luxury (Charlie Chaplin).
Excellent hotel and service as you would expect for the price. We had a super dinner and breakfast plus the Spa and Pool were excellent. Just what you need after climbing the Mourne mountains.
THE Jewel in the Crown of the Hastings Hotel Group.
With a Well equipped Elysseum,Pool and Spa Experience.
The Hotel Standard is 4 STAR
The Whole Customer Experience and Location in The Kingdom Of Mourne is definitely !
Absolutely fabulous hotel. Food, staff, rooms, position, all perfect.

Very lovely place to stay, excellent food and wonderful facilities
Beautiful setting, amazing hotel, staff were very helpful and friendly in every way a great experience. I will visit again.
Went to the lighthouse for lunch. It was lovely. The staff are so good and the views are spectacular.
Steeped in history, this place makes the getaway a getaway from it all.
Lovely food and fantastic view from Sea facing rooms. Only criticism I would have was the lack of seating/loungers fory pregnant wife in the pool/sauna area.
Excellent, professional and felt very comfortable considering the restrictions in place
Absolutely fantastic hotel. Had a fabulous time. Eugene was very helpful and professional. All staff were great.
Service was good, poor management at night. Could not get to sleep due to very rowdy guests next door. Spa excellent experience.
Beautiful resort. Nice weekend getaway. Food was fabulous and the accomodation great. Will definitely visit again. Loved the spa and pool.
We ordered tea and sandwiches at 7pm prior to a show .At 8.15 after asking again we eventually got them not on brown bread that we ordered but white ..service terrible won't be back
Everytime l visit the hotel l always receive first class service and always look forward to my next visit l would always recommend the hotel as the staff are A1.
Good hotel but unless you want to pay top dollar you might want to look elsewhere to get something really outstanding for a good price
Lovely Victorian hotel updated with modern facilities. Located within walking distance from Newcastle. Excellent breakfasts!
Beautiful hotel and spa lovely staff interior design outstanding relaxing place the view of the sea while you either have a coffee, meal, spa, pool, rooms priceless
Stayed overnight as a birthday treat and wasn't disappointed. Spa facilities are brilliant and we were upgraded to a suite which was lovely.
Great venue and service, just get an overdraft extension if you want to buy drinks!
Just a very relaxing night away and very friendly staff
The hotel is situated in an outstanding settling, with views unmatched by any hotel I've stayed in. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the afternoon tea is second to none. I'd highly recommend it.
Our family's favourite hotel for a short break.
Great location and professional, friendly, obliging staff. Wonderful spa experience.
Excellent stay. Staff very attentive and professional. Muhammed was exceptional xxx
My wife and I love it so much we got married there! We still go at least twice a year. Cannot recommend enough!
Stayed here 3 years ago to an enjoyable 5* experience so couldn't wait to stay again. Things have certainly changed. Venue is still lovely but showing some wear and several of the carpets and upholstered furniture seemed dirty. Room was still nice with comfortable beds but very hot this time and there was no fan. Tried to call desk, no answer, walked down, nobody. Around 7:30 pm. Tried again awhile later with same result. No bathrobe or slippers like last time either. Breakfast was ok, not as good as I recalled. Pool still lovely and relaxing.
Whats not to love !! All staff professional and friendly , nothing is too much trouble for them. Breakfast so.. good and beds and pillows very comfy. We used the excellant spa area and thoroughly enjoyed it ! Cant wait to return !!
