Love it the staff are so nice and make you feel so welcome
Awsome resort, stunning views of the mourn mountains. Well looked after and top range food
10.90 for a glass of wine in a plastic glass and 4 pounds for a soft drink
3rd time staying and I have to say experience each time has been amazin. Staff always really nice and helpful. Spa is great. Just what I needed for relaxing weekend. Will defo be back.
Great place to stay, very welcoming and helpful staff.
Do not be fooled by other peoples five star reviews, THIS IS FAR FROM A FIVE STAR HOTEL, yet charges five star prices. My wife and I Had to be moved from our room because of dirt, noise and lighting issues. The meal we had in the Oak More
Fab two days in slieve Donard hotel Fantastic food lovely friendly helpful staff.amaxzing spa. Can't wait to go back
1 night stay with breakfast, beautiful room, excellent service, great selection for breakfast.
Had the most wonderful 1 night stay here for my anniversary in July this year. The staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much effort. Our room was bright and clean and the bed was huge and full of ridiculously comfortable pillows. The shower wasn't the best, it was very difficult to set the temperature (it was either freezing cold or far too hot) but as we were only staying 1 night we didn't complain.
We both had a full body massage at the spa and it was one of the best massages I've ever had. There are extra spa facilities for anyone having treatments and these are split into male and female but they are much the same as the other facilities downstairs. The cold iced facecloths are a great idea for use after the sauna or steam room.
Breakfast was very tasty and I'd highly recommend the afternoon tea!
We were at Slieve Donard Hotel for our daughters wedding reception, and the whole event was organised without fault, food was absolutely fantastic, staff were all very professional and courteous and the hotel itself has one of the most beautiful locations in the world (especially if the sun is shining).
The housekeeping staff were incredible. A staff member named Victoria was overly helpful and made sure my stay was as good as it could be.
Nice place with great service next door to Royal County Down.
Those uniforms thry don't get paid enough redicolus but lovely staff xx
Lovely food and staff but was in need of a proper dusting in the room, bit disappointed as room was clean but very dusty
Dramatic landscapes Irish whiskey in your breakfast granola and porridge . Helicopter arrival celebs in next room. What's not to like !
housekeeping needs improvement - everything else was fine
Very relaxing stay, the spa facilities were excellent, breakfast and dinner were delicious
Excellent afternoon tea in he Slieve Donard Hotel today. I highly recommend for views, friendly helpful staff and of course the afternoon tea.
We enjoyed this hotel very much. The location is great
It's a great facility, but they always seem to fall short on the detail. Last time we visited the ceiling started leaking in our bathroom - they fixed it when we reported it but they forgot to clean up afterwards. This time they forgot to give us toiletries and the breakfast order menu had someone else's order written in it. I could just about tolerate this at a 3 star hotel, but not here.
This is a great hotel with lovely staff. The location and scenery alone are priceless. I have never had a bad stay here and always leave feeling well rested.
Attended a conference in the hotel. The staff were excellent, the food was ok. The conference room however was very cold.
Amazing hotel by the sea, very friendly, walked to the top of Slieve Donard and then enjoyed delicious lunch at Percy French, the hotel's pub, By the sea
We spent 4 nights Easter time very relaxed lovely staff lovely food were going back next year
Food beautiful but service would need improved. We had to ask for so many things that were missing from our table n then had a long wait. E.g. I got tired waiting on the milk for my tea I drank 2 cups of black tea before it arrived. Spoons provided to eat little dessert were too big for the glass. More effort needed by waiter staff
We stayed for wedding and had a great experience! I got a bamboo massage the following day which was absoutley amazing!
Room not ready on arrival, no robes in rooms, Poor dining/drinks service. Food average, wrong booking taken in Spa......
Perfect castle and great area lovely views
Thankyou Louise Reilly forgot to mention it was my son's wedding and what a venue did not want to leave thankyou
We were in the lighthouse restaurant. The ambience was lovely. I wish I could say the same about the food. The only seafood in the chowder I ordered was smoked haddock and they put cabbage in it. The soup was watery. My nephew had a pasta dish. It was VERY dry. No sauce or oil. The pasta was sticking together and it was over flavoured with truffle. My niece ordered the club sandwich. The bread was burnt and she found a burnt chip inside the sandwich. Even though not one of the party ordered chips. The other member of the party ordered the celery soup. There was far to much cream in it and was served luke warm almost cold. During the meal not one member of staff approached us to ask how our meal was.
My friend and I spent a fabulous day at your Spa. The location and facilities are outstanding. Your staff are so friendly, courteous and helpful. We were so impressed by our treatments. Michaela , our therapist was outstanding. Her treatments were absolutely superb. I am a
Holistic therapist and was blown away by this young ladies talents . We will definitely will be back.
Brilliant hotel set by the sea. Well mannered and friendly staff
Our anniversary night away was beautiful. Sumptuous sleeping and filling breakfast. Seaview and friendly staff. We will bw back next year.
The hotel / resort is beyond beautiful, and the staff are amazing - friendly and polite
Just a quick visit for a meeting but we will be back for pleasure.
A special thank you to Natasha for looking after us so well.
Stayed overnight and had a great time. Staff very helpful - particularly duty manager Hannah. Beautiful hotel and rooms - the spa is definitely worth a visit.
Pure class with very tasty lunches from the Lighthouse Lounge.
Wonderful hotel with a fabulous setting. Customer service is 10/10; location is fantastic - right on the beach and beside the town; rooms are lovely, clean and spacious.
This is a perfect location for exploring Newcastle, the Mourne Mountains, and the surrounding area.
Beach access is easy and close by.
Since our reception here at the hotel, the service has been attentive and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well furnished.
The food at breakfast, as well as at a private function in The Ballroom, was fantastic!
lovely place, stayed here on wedding night and staff looked after us with extra large room and congratulatory sweets. Breakfast in morning is great withtons of options.
The spa was great with access after checkout up to 3 if I remember correctly, the view from the pool and hot tub out over the ocean is amazing even on a dull day!
Great place and thoroughly recommend it!
This place is beautiful. The setting is ideal & but verlooking the beach. Very central to Newcastle town. Food good.
This is one of the iconic railway hotels in Northern Ireland which remains in its glory. The staff are all well trained and very attentive. With a choice of a restaurant in the hotel or another in the grounds. The spa is well appointed and has all features and amenities you d expect from a top class hotel spa. If you can try and get a room with sea views. On a stormy day it is beautiful to watch from the windows. The breakfasts are of superb quality using only locally sourced ingredients where at all possible. I would not hesitate to stay here again. With plenty to do and see around Newcastle we ll be back soon!
