Sunday lunch was fabulous. . Quick service and staff were so friendly.

Very quiet night out a Maginns has lost its reputition from back in the day

Lovely pub with great food. Always try to go when we are in the Castlewellan area.

Very nice place, good food but at Belfast restaurant prices.

This restaurant was recommended to us by by Katy who runs the archery classes in Castlewellan. We had a really good meal my son said it was the best steak he had had in a long time and we all enjoyed what we ordered. The staff were very helpful and I would recommend this Restaurant very highly. We went back again for Sunday lunch and again were well pleased. I have a severe wheat and egg allergy and the staff went out of their way to accommodate me.

Went here for a final lunch with my parents before lockdown occurred and unfortunately it was not the experience I have had before.
For a start no track and tracing, no staff asked for any contact details so we are now relying on fb Incase there is a positive case.
Our meal was very late, other tables who arrived later got their meal before us, we were time sensitive as we were on our lunch hour which we had to overrun.
The waitresses had their longhair done when serving food, typically now we have our eye out for masks, sanitizer, etc but the not having long hair tied back really took me aback.
As this was the last day before lockdown I feel maginns service was a bit lack, the staff were not attentive, and the food arrived with no side salad and the presentation was not there.
This experience has really put me off going to maginns, such a pity it was my last meal before the lockdown as I have had so many positive experiences before.

Excellent every time I've been there. Chowder, wheaten and roast beef are superb and always a bit of banter with the staff. Were this place closer, I'd go there all the time. Top drawer.

I paid a visit to this pub recently, with members of my family. This pub first opened in 1911, & was renovated, & extended 7 years ago. The decor is amazing, & quite quirky, great atmosphere for dining. The staff were very friendly, & efficient, & the food was superb, & reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Popped in twice over the last month while up at Castlewellan and the food is so yummy and staff are great and friendly! Will definitely stop off again when I'm next in that direction

Usual good food and service but sat 25july bar area packed with local teens with absolutely no social distancing.
Management need to do something rather than turning a blind eye.

Excellent food, great tasting Guinness, good craic what more could you want.

Don't be deceived by the average entrance. Behind the frontage is an Aladdin's cave. Wood, furnishings, ambience brill. Food... Never once disappointed by service, quality or quantity. Well worth the experience. No problems parking nearby.
