This internet takes me back to the days of dial up...

This internet takes me back to the days of dial up it s seriously that bad. I was paying for the premium package which is advertised as 5mbps. I could hardly ever get close to 2mbps. A lot of times I was getting less than 1mbps! If you call them to come see why you re not getting anywhere close to advertised speeds, I promise they ll tell you it s your equipment and will do nothing. They told me this and my dad who lives in the same neighborhood. Quite a coincidence that both of our issues were our equipment. My sprint wireless internet is faster than this garbage, that says a lot. Hopefully we ll have another option soon.

Sorry for the late response. Service in the year 2049 is spotty when emailing to the past. I understand that in your time I haven t signed up for your services yet . That doesn t happen until 2048. I have one more request. The machines y all released in January of 2048 have been malfunctioning and hurting human beings. I urge you to stop the manufacturing of the AI s immediately until all the bugs have been worked out.

I've have had skynets service for nearly a year now. Their customer service staff are polite and professional, and will go through great effort to make sure all of your questions are answered and your satisfied.

The tech named Gus who typically comes out to my aid has been great, funny to talk to. He also took the time to explain the technology they use and its limitations.

Having to give this review from my phone since my internet is out, which 75% of the time its out always having problems. Only redeemable thing is their customer representatives which i give 5 stars to, the actual service of providing internet however is a completely different subject.

Service works good when it works, for small speeds. Don t offer higher speeds. Doesn t work with any rain. Had 20 and 3 download/ upload speeds and only got maybe 6/1 on a good day. Customer service is horrible. Technicians were great. Can t game or stream without buffering a lot.

Potential customer. Was told we are just a few miles from the tower. Then had a tech come out and we live on 2 acres .. No trees.. Told we will have to pay them to put a tower on our property to get services cause trees are in the way of signal... Now i get great cell services at my property. They run off cell towers.. So why if we are only a few miles from a tower.. Do we need to pay them to put a tower on my property to get service... Sounded like a bad deal to me.

Horrible services. Internet can't stay stable for more than 2 minutes. We called them a couple days after they installed it and they came the next day. They said it was the router, so we took it back to bestbuy and got a different one. Dropped it off at their office so they could set it up. Picked it up the next morning(today) and decided to try it out. To no surprise it still doesn't work. A few days after they installed it, I decided to plug it straight is from the power connector and it still couldn't keep a connection. There was no point of saying the router isn't working if it doesn't even work when it's connected directly to the modem.

Gus came out today to address some speed issues. He diagnosed the problem efficiently and changed my radio. This immediately improved speeds. However, when I plugged into my network I had the same problem. I didn't expect him to troubleshoot as it was my equipment, but he patiently waited for me to test until I found the problem. Great service!!

Recent Harvey storm really put me in a bind with bill paying and finding family. These people at Skynet, seemed to me, to go out of the way to get me connected and fast!!!! Thanks Justin, your not just a tech to me... but a friend. Skynet... Best brand going in connectivity!!!!! Yea baby!

As most of texas knows internet is a big thing especially during a hurricane. Skynet did let its customers know they were powering down prior to the storm and they did let them know when the system was up and explained that they were still having issues with various sights. Their techs came out to the home and they were very professional and courteous. They wasted no time coming out and jumped right in to help. Thank you for your assistance and advice and explaining my situation it really helped a lot. I applaude skynet during this time.

Mr. J arrived around 9:40 and within 15 minutes he had me up and running. Up until the storm the service has worked well and no complaints at all. Thank J for me, because he explained everything to me and was very patient because I am not computer literate as all.

Skynet offered us very good service during Hurricane Harvey``Our tech Alex Jaimes was very polite and had us and running in no time``Thank you Skynet and I give you 5 stars``My husband Will Goss asked that l include his opinion as the same. The storm tragedy was huge and our service necessitated replacement of the radio on the roof that the wind knocked out before landfall. Nothing manmade is impervious to nature.

As a long time customer I can say Skynet is a great company. When we couldn t get internet from anyone else they were happy to help us. The speed and consistency of service is always excellent. Any problem you have they will work tirelessly to fix. I, Anthony Mosqueda, will continue to use this fine service and I hope you choose to as well.

My family and I had Skynet as our internet provider for years and rarely ever had to call for any sort of issue. Recently, service was in and out and I made a call simply to inquire if this was an isolated issue or perhaps an outage occurring in the area. They insisted on coming out to check on the tower atop our house and when they did, they removed our tower after only minutes of looking it over and our service was revoked without giving us a choice or any sort of warning. In the area we are, Skynet was our only option and their internet was not perfect, but it allowed me to do my schoolwork, same for my brother, and my mom with her job, and we have never once missed a payment, complained, or gave them a single reason to deny us service. I spent hours on the phone with the company, practically begging for them to just give us our service back, but they continue to refuse and won't even let me speak with their head supervisor. I will never understand how or why a company would deny business for no valid reason, especially to loyal customers. If you can, avoid this company at all costs or be prepared to be horribly disrespected by some incredibly rude and inconsiderate employees.

Skynet has gone above and beyond to get an internet signal to me in Van Vleck. From the very first phone call to the extremely awesome Installer Omar. Request Omar, he s explained all the fine print and is a straight shooter.

How can news crews and emergency responders use Skynet during Hurricane Ike when they turn their service off because of Hurricane Harvey? What sense does that make? This may be the last straw, it's tough enough to pay an insane amount of money per month for the speed I'm getting and now they shut down service during a hurricane?

I have been with Skynet for two years and am pleased with this company. Recently, just before Hurricane Harvey, my radio went down. As soon as they could, a technician (Jay) was dispatched to my residence. He drove thru flooded streets to get to me and made quick work of getting me up again. Thanks again Jay & Skynet.

Service is horrible! I have to agree with other reviews, it is no better than dial up. Customer service is also next to non-existent. When my husband finally got a hold of someone who actually knew what they were talking about (3 days later), they sent a service tech out. Apparently we had the "old equipment" and supposedly the newest was installed at that time and we were reassured our service would significantly improve. I have yet to see an improvement. It still remains no better than dial up AND the cost has gone up!!! Both myself and my step daughter attend online classes. The course videos are extremely slow to load and the streaming is intermittent. Needless to say this is extremely frustrating when I run the chance of compromising my college course for extremely poor internet!!! I have to go somewhere else most of the time to get it to work, which makes me question why I even pay for this service, oh wait, it's only one of 2 providers available, silly me, so of course they kinda have got ya unless you want to pay the fees for installation all over again for another service that may or may not be any better!

Gus was very knowledgable and professional when installing my service. He took the time to explain how the service works and answered all my questions. A week into our new service and my family is very pleased with the speed of the Internet for streaming.

I would leave a zero if I could. Honestly their internet has been shoddy at best. They have been the only game in town for the longest and they know it, but once either Jackson electric or at&t get into our area, we will be switching. There's no reason to be overpaying for internet that doesn't even work half of the time. 0/5 stars.

So unreliable and slow, took me an hour to even get this page loaded to write this review.

Would never recommend to anyone... the only reason I have it is because it's the only Internet service available near me.

I've had Skynet for a few years now and I'm satisfied with the service they provide. After Hurricane Harvey, I had to call them to send a technician out and in no time I had my internet back. Jay was very helpful and professional and even answered a few tech questions I had. Thanks!

I live in a rural area and cannot get cable intern...

I live in a rural area and cannot get cable internet or even DSL. My only options are dial-up, satellite, and Skynet. I've done all three over the years and only Skynet is even marginally acceptable.

I started with Skynet's 3 Mb down, 1 Mb up service and found it to be okay for web browsing, but too slow for streaming HD video. Music and SD video were okay. Note that this was over a year ago, so it may be better now.

I am now on their 5 down/2 up plan, and find it to be good for shorter, streaming, like YouTube, but on the edge for longer stuff like streaming Amazon Prime Movies. It's okay is you don't mind it pausing and/or reducing quality a few times over the course of a movie.

As with everything else in life, they are not without issues, but are vastly better than the alternatives where I live.

Issue #1: Prices are higher than cable Internet and really high speeds (like 25 Mb/s and up) are not even available (or would be very expensive if they were even offered). I would really like to move up to a higher tier package, but the price is just too rich for me.
Issue #2: Performance sometimes drops at certain times of day (evenings and weekends) when many customers get home and start using the Internet. I've been with Skynet for quite a few years and this used to be a big problem. Fortunately, it doesn't happen as often now and is down to a minor annoyance (Spring, 2017).

The bottom line, in my opinion, is that if you can get cable Internet, then Skynet is probably not the best choice for price and performance.

However, if your only other options are dial-up or satellite internet, then absolutely look at Skynet.

One other good thing - Unlike what I hear about the big cable companies, I've always been very pleased with Skynet customer service. They have been very responsive and the service techs have been competent and personable.

Worst internet company I have ever dealt with. All they do is lie to you about why there service is out. And when they have problems you have to call about a 1000 times before you can talk to anyone. There just horrible, your a fool if you use them.

Customer Service is non existant. Internet service is no better than dial up. If it were not for contract and the fact there is a stranglehold on high speed internet in this area, I would not have wasted the time money or suffered this level of frustration! Worthless!!
I have to edit this review as the service has gotten MUCH better. Also speeds have increased and connectivity while still a bit spotty; have been MUCH more consistent. Its not perfect; but the operators in the office do very well to address any problems and take your issues seriously.
I continue to be a customer of Skynet and will in the future.

Horrible!! I m so frustrated with these people it s unreal. I ve called multiple times, left multiple voicemails for a technician to come out and see what wrongs with our internet since it s not working and no one has called back and haven t been able to get ahold of anybody. Our WiFi doesn t even work half the time and we re paying $200 for crappy service. Don t bother with these people. They obviously don t care.

Well, I've read some of the reviews and I can tell you, if you think they're bad now, you should have been with them 7 years ago. Skynet has come a long way but they do have very poor customer focus, (at times) and a non existent Mission Statement. This lack of a customer commitment (Mission Statement) is what causes them to have issues only on weekends, and then they make you sit there off the net while they think up excuses why they want work on them on weekends. However, as said, they have improved over the past couple of years. As an IT manager and an Security Consultant, with 7 years service under my belt with Skynet, there problems are very apparent. First and foremost, they JAM their service tower equipment to the point of saturation causing you to rarely get what your paying for as a posed to increasing band width.

This has improved over the past couple of years. I pay over 200 bucks (gladly) a mouth for the fastest access they provide and I get what I'm paying for about 75% - it use to be 30% of the time. Outages over the past two years have been cut down by 90 percent, at least on the tower I connect too (This is good). I give them four stars because overall they've been pretty good to me and they have tried to improve their service. Complaining about slowdowns produces nothing, so after many years, I don't bother much anymore. In closing, the reality is, if the customers in the Alvin area had a real viable option (over the air options) Skynet might be in trouble. WYFI is frustrating enough, when it works it really does well. Skynet has tried to improve service and in the past few years, they have spent money on resources and infrastructure to back it up. You could do worse - than Skynet give-em a chance.

I've been with them for several years now, and have had really great customer service, and have only dealt with really nice people. The internet works, and I play video games online with it daily.

Wow. I ve been with Skynet for over 6 years and until recently have been very happy with it. I ve even recommended this service to others in rural areas. Not sure what happened but today I lost service around noon while my grandbabies were watching a rented movie on prime. We did have a little rain and wind so I can understand that. I called and was told there were other outages and they were working on it and I politely said thank you and waited patiently. I called back at 3:00 and talked to a lady who told me the service looked fine on their end so after I moved furniture and rebooted everything several times I still had no service. I called back at 3:10, no answer, left a message. Called back around 3:20, no answer, left another detailed message. Called back around 3:50 no answer, left a message, begged them to please let me know if it was their equipment or mine. I m still waiting. I guess loyalty as a long term customer means very little to them. I understand that they have no control over weather issues but there is no excuse for this kind of customer service. May be time to check out another provider.

Received a robo call on 8-25-17 stating that Skynet was shutting down the service because of Hurricane Harvey. It is now Tuesday, 8-30-17 & still no service. No one will answer the phone, customer service line or tech line. We need an update on when our service will be restored!!

Absolutely amazing service. Our internet went down and we had a major event that we have to have internet service. No technician was close enough to come out and take a look. A technician calls me and walks me through everything and were back in business. Thank you so much Skynet for helping us out in such short notice.

If I had another provider, I would go with them. ...

If I had another provider, I would go with them. Unfortunately, Skynet it the only option in our neighborhood. A few of our complaints:

1)Received a robo call on 8-25-17 stating that Skynet was shutting down the service because of Hurricane Harvey. (Robo called was received after service was already shut down by Skynet). It was not up until 8-31-17 and we were never notified by Skynet about it being back up. It would have been very beneficial to have internet connection during a time when our counties were flooding to be able to get up to date information regarding our safety.
2) Internet is spotty most of the time and goes down often. We can t seem to get anything done about it.
3) Customer Services give us a run around all the time when talking to them. It has taken me almost 3 weeks just to get a statement from them.
4) They mischarged us our rate for 4 months, and we had to complain a couple of times before they would credit us and correct our rate.

Basically, If you have another choice of internet provider ..Choose them.

I ve had skynet for a few years and I love it. Yes it could be faster but it s awesome in comparison to anything else available in my rural area. I can stream tv while a couple of people are using computers and no issues. There have been a few times I ve not had a internet connection today being one after last nights storm where I lost power. Troubleshooting didn t help and service call set up for Friday am. Overall I m very happy with the reliability of service.

Honest review of long time customer.

Honest review of long time customer.

I ve been a SkyNet customer for over 10 years. I have nothing but positive comments to say about them.
Here s what I have; I have 19 connected device with a 3/1 service and its working fine. I have 4 kids streaming Youtube or playing Roblox. My brother is streaming Netflix at 720p and at the same time I m playing Gran Turismo Sport on the PS4 with no lag. How is this possible you might ask?

Here s my secret, QoS settings in my router. It allows you to direct the router to give the highest bandwidth to any device that you choose and what s left over of the bandwidth can to go everyone else.

Some of the issues and comments I read for SkyNet doesn t even look like an ISP related problem. Such as wifi so slow , well have you consider looking into your equipment? How many walls is the signal is the passing through? Are you using the using a new laptop with wireless G/N/AC with an older router that only supports wireless G? I would recommend reaching out to a technical person to review your situation. It s not always the ISP that s at fault, most of the time it s the way you re setup at home.
Not everyone is tech savy so you need to reach out and get good help with your network.

I don t expect the service to be on 24hrs a day especially during a storm I m just being real. While it is an inconvenient to the customer but it makes sense to power down the equipment in the middle of the storm to protect them, so that when the storm do past everyone can utilize it. When Ike and Harvey hit I m glued to the TV to get information on street floods and live information for evacuation route not streaming movies. You should have multiple ways to get information such as radio, cell phone, TV not just the internet. Also right after the storm most people don t have power anyways for days, business are closed and streets are flooded.

SkyNet is not a big company so they don t have the man power or infrastructure as the big ISP such as Verizon, ATT , T-Mobile etc to give you the 100Mbps+ Speed. However, SkyNet does provide good service for Rural area that the BIG ISPs doesn t want to invest in.

Thanks to Jocelyn and the accounting lady.

Skynet is an amazing service for the rural market....

Skynet is an amazing service for the rural market. What others in the reviews below fail to understand is that this is a wireless service and always has been advertised as such. Weather has and will always play a role in connectivity with this type of service. They have no control over lightning strikes or heavy periods of downpour where connectivity flickers in and out. The concept is simple like a walkie talkie. The closer you are the better the reception and connection you will maintain.

On 2/9/20 I called about setting up service for 2/10 and made an appointment for that day. Well I decided to try a different company but when I called sky net to cancel the appointment, they never answered their phone! If I had a hard time reaching them now then I can only imagine how bad it ll be as a customer!!

Edit: my mistake, i made the call on 7th and seheduled an appointment for the 8th. I changed my mind and tried calling after 4 to cancel, no one would answer my phone. I remember trying to get in contact with the company around 7:00 pm on a weekday about a month ago to inquire about new service but no one would answer. If calls are not answered after 4 on a weekday, why even list your business hours from 8:00 to 8:00. I m glad I was able to see this before signing up, I dodged a bullet.

I signed up with Skynet about 3 months ago, and I'...

I signed up with Skynet about 3 months ago, and I'm not a happy camper. First off, the service is very erratic. I experience dropouts lasting from a few seconds to a minute every 10 minutes or so. On top of that, the tower I'm connected to is struck by lightning every time a cloud passes by, so my service goes down for a day or two every few weeks. Skynet has no CS reps available after 8 on weekdays, or after 2 on weekends, so if you have a problem during evening hours you're out of luck. To top it off, Skynet's CS reps are R-U-D-E! Their response is 'we're working on it and we have no idea when it will be fixed. An then, instead of issuing a credit when their service is out, I have to call them and raise a stink.

Bottom line: Skynet is plagued with poor reliability and poor customer service. Overall, my experience with Skynet is highly unsatisfactory.

Update - my service has been working pretty well for the past month. I have upgraded my rating to 3 stars. I hope they can keep it up.

Update 2/25/2020 - It took a couple of weeks, but Skynet got everything straightened out, and our service has been great since December. Evidently, another transmitter was interfering with their signal, and they were able to resolve the issue. I would feel comfortable recommending them to a friend. I bumped them to 4 stars.

They shutdown service before the storm and did not alert anyone when it was "back up" and refuse to credit you properly for not providing service. Horrible company and even worse customer service. If you have an option STAY AWAY AND DO NOT USE THEM!!! ..... and of course they leave the standard form answer. They couldn't care less about the actual issue.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Had their crap internet installed, and have had problems with it ever since. Technician tells us he can get us better internet, but we have to go rent a man basket for them to be able to install in the place it was originally supposed to be(according to the technician). So we have an internet provider that charges $200 for an install, installs it in a non optimal place, and wants us to pay for the equipment for them to do their job? Great customer service. Good thing is given the growth in the area, a better provider will be here shortly. One that might actually take care of their customers and doesn't have terrible connectivity.

Unbelievable bad customer service. They won't reply to emails, they turned off our Internet for six days during Hurricane Harvey, yet still charge you the full amount. They should have taken six days of the service THEY turned off, off of our bills. Unfortunately, we're under a contract with them, but the day that contract is up, we will be terminating service. It's hit and miss on when it works anyway!!!

I got SkyNet Internet installed in my new home and the service is amazing. Gus the installer did a fabulous job and was able to answer any questions and resolve any concerns that I had. I really like the fact that my husband can be updating his Xbox and I can still work on my computer as well.
No complaints!!!

I've been a customer since 2007. I've felt everyone's pain that has commented here. Fact is that skynet knows they are the best game in town. I am personally disappointed with them. Its difficult to post a negative review given that they are the best option but this weekend was inexcusable. Shutting down service during events like hurricane Harvey is egregious. Their message was a disservice to loyal customers who have endured skynet's growing pains. Their automated message said nothing of when they would bring their network back up and equates to figuratively turning their back on their customers. And yet we'll endure this as well. Even as we tell them we expect a prorate on our service for this weekend this is what we can expect in general. If there are any prospective services looking at skynet's service areas, just imagine a customer base starving for a service company to provide internet service that is marginally better than skynet's. For what its worth skynet, I am thankful for my par service you've provided and I have thanked you with my service fee that is 2x what people in the city pay for 20x the speed on your best day. Looking forward to a better quality of service from you skynet.

Worst internet service I have ever had. There are...

Worst internet service I have ever had. There are regular interruptions to the service lasting seconds to several minutes. It is slow on weekends. For me, yesterday was the last straw: They shut down service a day before a hurricane hit several hundred miles away from where I live. They have not given any notice of when service will be restarted. They will not answer phones nor respond to email. The phone message we received after service was terminated stated that they were shutting down service for my convenience, so that service can be restored more rapidly. All of the other internet service providers in my area (WISPs and satellite - there are no hard lines where I live) still have service - with the likelyhood of any interruption from the storm dwindling. If reliable internet service is at all critical for your work or home needs, look elsewhere. You have been warned about this company.

Edit: The response to my review by Skynet is fiction: Service was not restored in 24 hours it was down for several days look at other reviews for validation of this fact. This final straw got us looking for another provider. While we thought there were no alternatives in our area, we found several. We made the switch and haven t looked back. Our new provider is faster, answers my calls, is helpful, and a lot less expensive. My only regret is not dumping these guys sooner.

They bragged about how they were the only internet...

They bragged about how they were the only internet company that was working during hurricane Ike. But we get a possible cat 2 hurricane (Harvey) and they immediatley shut it down before the rain even hits, when people need internet the most... this is a sorry company and they service mostly rural areas so they like to jack up there prices. The most expensive internet I've ever had that doesn't work half the time. Buyer beware.

Never use this service it can t withstand a single...

Never use this service it can t withstand a single Xbox without crashing and I pay 72 dollars a month. Waste of money I wish I could change it but no other service reaches my area. If you re a gamer DO NOT ORDER THIS SERVICE PROVIDER YOU WILL HATE YOUR LIFE.

Update to this post April 28, 2016

Update to this post April 28, 2016
A short time after I wrote the report below, one of Skynets supervisors stopped by my home. He asked permission to look around and assess the equipment used to service our home. As I walked the area with him, we discussed the problems we've experienced during our time as one of their customers. "THE" main issue was the lack of consistent service and slow speeds. He explained that the trouble we were experiencing was caused by the number and size of trees interfering with the signal. He had a few ideas and asked if he could try one out. About 2 weeks later, he and 2 other Skynet employees installed a new tower on the roof of my shop. The tower, with a larger disk, was 10' higher than the tower we were using.

It has been approximately 2 weeks since the new tower was installed and the system is working very well. The internet speed is finally working at the speed they advertise but, equally as important, the system doesn't seem to crash as often. In fact, we've lost service 1 time since the work was completed. But the biggest improvement, the most important to me, is the fact that Skynet went above and beyond with their customer service. I'll have to give them 5 Stars for their customer service. Living in a rural community limits the number of ISP's available but, when compared to our other options for internet providers, I'll have to give them a 5 Star rating there as well.

________________________________________________________________________
There are moments when this internet works "as advertised" but those moments are few. The service interruptions are frequent, annoying and inconvenient. Unfortunately, this is the "best" we have available in our area and Skynet knows it. Their customer service is horrible. Don't complain or the owner will personally call you and threaten to disconnect your service. I will say the the men who do their field service calls have been very professional. But don't call them on the phone. You'll either hang up feeling like an idiot or a child that has been scolded for doing something wrong........or angry, having accomplished nothing.

They must really must not need new customers. Was told two days ago I need a expensive tower of course. Still have not received a call to schedule setup. I have found a cheaper and better alternative. Everyone do your homework before settling.

This internet sucks, im getting 0.6 speed. the download is 20kb/sec. unlimited but sucks. this internet is as slow as dialup or slower. some ppl pay $12 for dailup, where paying $95/month. What suck is this is the best internet we can get here. Cant watch videos at all, about a minute wait for a few seconds, some websites dont load all the way or work too well. some links like from email or site dont work. cant play some games on here, multiplayer games dont work, half the online games on my tablet dont work. netflix is usless. the updates and downloads are the worst. it takes atleast 30 minutes for a very small update, some took me 3 days from hours at a time, and thats if there is nothing else on the internet. i got a computer on my birthday from a friend, and i cant even do anything on it hardly. so it just sits there. sucks, the customers servie sucks, say that its as fast as they are allowed to get the internet. they offered to lower the speed to lower the cost, how will that fix it. any slower we might as well turn it off, but its neededfor my dads works. if a new internet came to this area, ill call them in a heartbeat.

Had major issues with internet and called customer service. It was close to the end of the day and have to leave a message. The next morning the supervisor reached out to me and offered to send someone out on Monday. True to their word they showed up and found out I had multiple problems and replaced my router and connections on top of my tower. The technician and the supervisor were all very kind and helpful. I m glad they were able to get the issue fixed quickly!

Internet service is a joke! It always buffers, towers are always down. It's a headache. Not good internet whatsoever. It maybe works 4 days out of the week and only for streaming tv. Nothing else. I ve called and left voicemails no one seems to want to call back to help. Even if you pay over $120!

My family has used Skynet for over 5 years. Not only has the internet service been awesome but the customer service matches it perfectly. It is so nice to call a company and still have a real person answer the phone. When they do need to come out to fix something (which is not very often) they always come in a timely manner. Great People!! Great Company!!

I agree with other customers. I don't have any other option, but the last 6 months the services has decreased significantly. It does not work in early mornings or late evenings. It is glitchy throughout the day. I was going to call, but seeing these reviews I'm guessing it will be a waste of my time. Perhaps I need to go back to Verizon MiFi or something like it. Less expensive and it worked.

Worse internet I've ever had to deal with everyone is brain dead in there so called "tech department". I have constant issues they never get resolved, but on there end everything is fine. Don't waste your time or money. You're better off having no internet. Pathetic service

Slow to the point of being unusable most of the time even though we re paying $145 a month. Constant billing problems. At least 2-5 days a month with no service. No credit for days with no service. Rural internet access is a serious problem in the USA. This is not the answer.

I was a potential customer that lives in brookshire, Texas. We got a flyer in the mail and called - I was told it's a 2 year contract - 10mb download and 2mb upload for $45 a month which sounded great - i called 4 times to get this information. I cancelled my Consolidated installation to call them back for setup only to be told "That's the service we're offering in the future." I then called back and talked to Sean, the manager, and he told me the same thing. If associates and a person whom manages them lack the rudimentary basic skills in communicating that they aren't offering the service now imagine when there's actual issues. There's no accountability there it seems and it would be wise to go to a company that doesn't give you the run around from the start.
Secondly, I notice in reviews when it's a "negative" review they seem to have NO TRACE of that customer, and yet when it's a positive review...they know they're a customer? How convenient.

This is the best internet connection that we can get. It is usually good during the day, but in the evening, it slows down and stops for periods of time. Sometimes it comes right back, but some times it does not.

The evening tech support tries to blame everything in the world, literally, to keep from sending a tech out to check their equipment. After they came out last time, and serviced their antenna, the service tech said that he had thought that he got the problem fixed, but to call back if the issue comes back.

It went out again during that evening, I called back and the customer service person told me that it would be a $100 dollar charge to come back. They kept pushing to get a monthly maintenance contract with them. Apparently paying over $70 dollars a month for a service is not enough for them to fix their own equipment.

We have had them for quite a few years, and have not had many problems. But the last six months this persistent loss of internet, each evening, is trying. If you have any other option, then use it first.

'Caveat Emptor'
THIS COMPANY WILL NOT SERVICE THEIR EQUIPMENT, OR TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS! They are more focused on trying to sale service contracts, when they can't deliver the internet connection that they have already sold.

Update: Summer 2016
A member of their management called me about this review. He asked details of the problems and had me schedule someone to come out and look at the system again. They scheduled me to receive an equipment upgrade, in exchange for going to their $100 plan.

Two guys showed up and I was home to talk with them this time. I was asking the service techs about my problems and if they could recommend a replacement router that would work better, as the Skynet customer service had suggested this solution. The Techs told me that Skynet is rapidly expanding and adding customers. He said that they have good internet during the day because people are not home or using much bandwidth. He said that in the evening, with all of the new customers there is more demand than their is capacity available, so some customers get slow to no service. He said not to replace my router because if it works during the day, then it doesn't have a problem, it is just their overloaded service.

They upgraded me to new equipment, and I went to the $100 dollar plan for faster service, as Skynet suggested. We have even faster internet during the day, but still slow internet during the evening. It is ok, we would rather have slow internet that occasionally stops in the evening than no internet at all.

I appreciated the service techs candor and have not re-contacted Skynet, because I don't believe that they have a solution to the problem at this time.

I've been with Skynet for quite awhile. While the speeds are not even close to what my daughters get with DSL It works for me. I live outside of town past the range of dsl or cable. I'm able to stream one movie and play my game on ps3 at the sametime.

I've had this service for a couple of years now and so far so good. Recently they updated the equipment, and Fahad helped me with questions I had, great service. I absolutely recommend skynet. *Aide*

I have had Skynet for about a year now and this morning I received a robocall explaining that to minimize the chance of any damage to their equipment they would be shutting down power to all their towers and to please unplug any of their equipment at my home in advance of the rain we would be getting from Hurricane Harvey. So comforting knowing that at a time when we really need internet they shut everything down so their chance of equipment damage is minimized. I hope this costs these morons their business. They care nothing about their customers.

Had Dish internet for a very long time. Was not pleased so I called Skynet. Was offered a great package and the service techs knew what I needed to be able to enjoy my internet usage. Setup was quick and efficient. Very pleased with the speed and Gus was great to work with as he did the install. Review by Melissa Landry
