my stars are for Dr. Carter Chang- he far exceeds in his efforts to help his patients then most doctors because he genuinely cares about the welfare of others. On numerous occasions Ive been blessed to have experienced the grace that comes from his sensitive soulfulness. I just wish i wouldn't have to wait so long for my appointment. On average i wait in excess of 30 minutes of the appointment time.
I have read the reviews regarding Kaiser, and found that some are positive, but most are negative. I rate kaiser a 4 star, primarily due to my doctor, Carter Chang. He is the best!! I love Dr. Chang, and I cannot imagine changing physician. He is always concern about my health overall. He takes the time to actually listen to my concerns, not in a rush fashion, and I feel satisfied and completely assured that all my questions are answered and that has been the case upon every visit. I feel sad that others has not experience such, but I can only speak for myself.
Dr sims is awful. Not compassionate or doing her job. Pretty much gave me a diagnosis before my lab work came back and even after it came back fine. Never once put her hands on me to check my lymph nodes or look in my ears or do any of that. All she said is you most likely have chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia without making the connection that is probably most likely shingles since I've gotten better
This complaint is only about the website-not the doctors or the facility. I find the website difficult to navigate, information lacking ( such as not all of my doctors listed in the email your doctor section), hard to access much of the information I look for and to find doctors. Very often I have to Google what I am looking for ( such as how to access info on estimating costs of services and procedures)
I was so happy and excited when Kaiser decided to open up offices in San Mateo and my PCP moved over too. Truly convenient and I get my needs met as far as outpatient services are concerned.
Don't come during 12-1 everyone is on their lunch hour. You will have to wait until staff return at 1pm to even speak to someone at the registration desks
Giving 5 stars because of my primary care physician Dr. Lau, anytime there's a question he is very helpful and knows his stuff. He always replies to emails quickly, within minutes sometimes. The hospital always has parking and is in a convenient location being right off of 101.
This review is only for one employee of the pharmacy department. The young lady with fake eyelashes and lots of make up that is working on the very last counter to the right is a completely unhelpful person, who should not be working in client services. Absolute lack of tact, not willing to listen and is very impatient. All other pharmacy employees were always great but this one really ticked me off. I hope that management will really see this review and do something about it soon. Cashier number K749955
WARNING: THIS PLACE KILLED MY GRANDMA. They kept pushing morphine on the poor lady so that they could quicken her passing even though she could have lived for a few extra days/weeks/months. "An operation would just buy time" they said. YES THATS THE POINT OF EVERY MEDICAL PROCEDURE, """DOCTOR""". The doctors kept harassing us to start a morphine drip and we kept refusing. They tricked us into giving her oral morphine but it ended up just speeding her death. They play word tricks like "make her more comfortable" and then they use double talk like "morphine wont make her pass more quickly" but would "shorten the passing," OKAY WELL """DOCTOR""" WHICH IS IT? Do yourself a favor: if you love your family member AVOID THIS DEATH FACTORY.
Everyone told me that Kaiser was awful, but I gave them a chance, and now I regret that. The doctors are all like robots. The only kind of help they offer you is a pill, and if you don't like it than they get upset. I had one doctor get upset with me about not wanting a pill. A pill that would have made me feel worse! I gave my doctor a list of symptoms that I was having and she looked at me like I was crazy! She even laughed at me about it. I changed my doctor 3 times in the last couple of months because no one will help me. One doctor finally sent me to a specialist ,he offered me a pill and pain killers right at the beginning of the appointment. I don't think that any of the doctors at Kaiser are able to help people that have a real illness. They are only helpful if you need pills. They are wonderful with a pin and paper.
I came in with a fish hook in my finger and looking for an ER, only to find they don't have one. They took me in anyway! One of the pediatric doctors removed the hook and wrapped me up. I guess they didn't want to make me drive any further. Everyone was so kind and helpful.
We have been pleased with the lab, doctor visit, administration services when needing records for our now adult son, and the pharmacy. The coffee corner stand is excellent! Thanks San Mateo Kaiser!
Hard to believe, but so true. Just changed my primary because my current one moved to a different location. I'm happy with the change. We clicked! Everything is here in one building. Parking is in a free lot and plentiful.
Kaiser is one of the best medical facilities out Family has ever used. Our primary physicians Dr Yap and Dr Chung are fabulous- very responsive and easy to talk to about any medical issues. Kaiser email, mobile app and pharmacy app make it easy to stay in touch and take an active part in your care.
I m so dissatisfied with the assistance that I received All I wanted to do was make an appointment with my primary and what I got was a call center that couldn t do diddly for me except to tell me that they would contact the office digitally and I would then be contacted within 24 hours to see if there was anything available - for now it seems I am on some sort of waiting list We are talking about making an appointment two weeks out and the scheduler was unable to help me in any way and could not even give me a number where I could follow up on my own - like the number was a secret. Now I m still inexperienced with Kaiser but this is yet another example of why we will be moving on when open enrollment comes around.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to reach their Medical Record Release Department!!
I changed my insurance this year, and my family care doctor needs to see my last year's lab test and other records. I tried to call Kaiser 3 days in a roll, from morning to afternoon, they keep transferring me to different department, and finally you got a so called Medical Record Release Department number, but nobody ever answered or return your calls.
I will have to keep calling or complaining to get my record. But I'm so disappointed with kaiser, and would not consider to use it again just in case I'll lose my medical record.
The newly made online doctors appointments were the worst experience I ve ever had; first the app wouldn t work, then doctors couldn t connect, and then they just told me to contact them again in 5-7 days after I waited 20 minutes for a doctor to log on.
Overall, I am highly disappointed and hope no one ever has to experience this similarly.
Appointments are very short and rushed. It seems like they want you to go back for multiple visits to get any real testing done for a more in depth diagnosis. This seems to be how KP generally operates on the west coast.
Great kaiser facility. Mon-Wednesday is very busy. Go Thursday. I was pleasantly surprised to find that i was the only patient in the radiology department and got my x-ray done in seven minutes. If you time it right, you could meet your doctor, complete exams, and get meds all within an hour + (for me) $0 co-pay. Kaiser rules!
A lot of people complain about feeling like just a number in a system with Kaiser, but every real person I interact with has been nice and helpful. Also, I wouldn't mind feeling like just a number since the system is mostly VERY we'll run.
Dr. C. Leung is an incredible primary care doctor - I appreciate her thoughtful conversations and empathy. The facilities are clean and this hospital is efficient.
If you have never been to kaiser, and are used to smaller clinics, they're going to feel pretty inpersonal. That aside, everything else moves like clock work at kaiser, this one is no exception. This one is a bit smaller than some of the ones i've been to though.
Went to go see about a knee issue.
Park in the free lot off the freeway, took the elevator to the 2nd floor, checked in with the receptionist. Right on time, the nurse comes and asks for me, right on time the doctor comes in to check on me, they ask me if i want a flu shot. my visit ends with a flu shot, and a prescription that i go downstairs to pick up. there's 10 people in line but moves like clockwork. Someone gives me the drugs asks if i want further explanation after explaining basics to me. I say yes, they hand the drugs down the lanes to a pharmacist whose sole job is to stand there, look at the drugs being handed to her, and explain to the next patient.
This is an assembly line, so if your'e used to being babied at stanford and the tesla charging stations or valet parking, this place ain't for you.
I have nothing but good things to say about KP. During the past year I've had various medical issues and was able to schedule an online appointment to see my doctor in days. In cases where I needed urgent attention I was able to call a KP nurse to find a solution and put my concerns at ease.
I just had a horrible experience at the San Jose Kaiser which made me really appreciate how well I'm treated in San Mateo. As a new father, I am treated with respect as an equal partner and welcomed with open arms to parenting classes. If you'd prefer to be treated like an untrustworthy creepy outcast 2nd class citizen, go to San Jose instead.
U can make a lab appointment if UR in a hurry. Pharmacy and optical department here. New food concession in the lobby. Very good flu shot clinic hours.
