I (an independent used car lot) bought a car here with a rolled back odometer, complained to management (Charlie Clarke) one hour after purchase only to find that he would tell me, tough luck, a seller doesn t have to accurately represent miles on a car that is 10 years old or older . We have no use for this car so we re-sell the car back thru Manheim Nashville (without representing the miles as mileage discrepant ) and take a loss.

Months later I sell a car at Manheim Nashville (one where we did a cluster swap/repair). We made no announcements regarding any mileage discrepancy, because the car was 10 years old or older, and because of the rule Charlie Clarke made us follow previously. Roughly 30 days later Charlie Clarke calls me and demands that we buy this unit back from the buyer. We eventually agree to purchase the unit back after some discussions. Then Charlie Clarke informs us that we are to no longer conduct business with them.

I have been dealing with Manheim Auctions for years but I have to say the Manheim auction in Nashville is not customer friendly unless you are a franchise dealer, especially the Arbitration department. What does a small independent dealer have to anymore to get a little customer service!!!

Great place? Think again. This Manheim Nashville is the worst auction I have ever dealt with in my 20 years of being in this business. These people don't pay any attention to small dealers, they are just in it to make money for the bigger people! Especially the arbitration department.
I purchased a vehicle from Manheim Nashville October 30th 2018. I requested a post sale inspection (psi) on the vehicle to be clear of any possible faults. They completed the psi, and it passed. My driver leaves next day, October 31st 2018, to pick up the vehicle and bring it to our lot. Vehicle arrives, we begin checking the entire vehicle. Put the vehicle on a lift, to find out all of these indiscretions; as you see below, found the radiator support torn to shreds, control arm bent, & last but not least the navigation, radio touch screen, inop.
Here's where the drama begins, called the auction, arb department, explained to the gentlemen that the radiator support is bent & broken & demanded to know how it passed psi. I, also, in the vehicle found arbitration documents with a checklist showing frame/structural, check marked meaning there is/was an issue there previously. The gentlemen on the phone said the radiator support is not part of the structural/frame so it is not covered. He said he would open an arb claim for me to drop the vehicle back to have it inspected further. Took it back, left it there for a few days while awaiting to hear back from them. They called and once again told me the radiator support is not part of the structural/frame of the car, so it will not be covered. How can it not be covered when the radiator support is welded into the structure of the car? Second, it is between $1000-$2000 which is clearly above the $500 arbitration cap.
(I sold the car at the same location a little less than a year ago, but they rejected it because they said that the radiator support had a nickel sized dent) GO FIGURE!
We sent our driver AGAIN, our driver arrives, opens the door, and both keys that were in the vehicle, were gone. BOTH keys missing? I told the head of security, Chris, and he said that they would make a key for us, just to leave the vehicle. They made A key, not 2 keys like how it came originally. My driver asks why is only one remote key being made, and he said that's what the arbitration department said. They made some used remote key, that isn't even the vehicles true key. So now if I call they're going to tell me I'm pass my 7 day cap. So now, I have the cost of the vehicle, touch screen, 2 remote keys, a jacked up radiator support, repairs out the ying yang & nothing more. I got a hunk-a-junk. Come Back Now Ya'll!!

Arbitration is an absolute joke! Will not stand behind NAAA Silver Certified protection! Will do anything they can to weasel their way out of paying for their misrepresented vehicles. Used to be a reputable auction until new management. Save yourself a huge headache and steer clear of these jokes.

Take your business elsewhere!! This Manheim Auction is the worse one to buy from. The post sale inspection (psi), nothing but a joke! Don't even waste your money, they're not going to cover. They will find loopholes just to avoid paying for anything that they SHOULD!!

Great auction for franchise dealers. Terrible auction for independent Dealers. Crooked and biased arbitration to protect the franchise sellers and stick the independent buyers with cars that should have never been run green light. Everything sold here is as is for independents. No place to test drive either. Too big to have any customer service. Go to Adesa Nashville or make the drive to Music City Auto auction. It ll be worth not having the headaches!

So, in only approx the last 3 months, I have exper...

So, in only approx the last 3 months, I have experienced the following LARGE problems/lack of attention to detail:

A. I paid for a vehicle in cash, 16k. Received a paid in full receipt, and gate pass to remove the vehicle. Title was mailed to me a short time later, maybe about a week. Of course the gate pass would not have been issued, and the title would not have been mailed HAD THE VEHICLE NOT BEEN PAID IN FULL. There's no way around that with Manheim. So approx 2.5-3 weeks after paying for the car, I received a call from that location, get this: asking when I was going to pay for that car!!!! Flabbergasted, I said I already had, had picked it up, and received title already - two things which would have NEVER happened if the car hadn't been paid for!! I was told they'd do some research and get back to me shortly. Irritating but I wasn't worried. A few hours later they're calling back. I am told "Sorry, we have NO record of your payment, and DO NOT BELIEVE this car has been paid for. Pay the original balance plus late fees immediately, or bring the car back to us! It's clearly an error that a gate pass was issued and title was mailed." WOW ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? So pay twice for the same car, or give it back and let them keep 16k? Get the F out of here!!! I found my "paid cash" receipt for that VIN, marched it into a location, and got that cleared right up - though I never received an apology or even an excuse as to what may have happened on their end with regard to the error/oversight. What a great (lousy!!!!) computer system they have.....

B. One car I purchased, while I made sure to review the vehicle summary page - where it shows sale date, VIN, miles, the seller, CR score, link to Autocheck and Carfax reports, etc, then the "SALVAGE-YES OR NO" line, being clearly notated as *NO*, then after purchase receiving a Salvage Title instead of a Clear Title!!! Titles are non-negotiable in all 50 states, meaning if it's sold as Clear it has to actually and truly be clear. So after THAT phone call & subsequent research, found out the vehicle had a 'notation' as salvage/prior theft recovery in the Separate-window-opening "Seller Comments" button/section at the very bottom of vehicle summary page (which nobody clicks on).... Yet I was flatly told I should have clicked on & read those comments too -- doesn't matter one bit that the MAIN summary page showed "SALVAGE-NO", so it's *MY* problem now. BTW: the car brought clean title money. That's a nice little trick to offload a salvage vehicle for clean title money, right?!

C. Bid on a vehicle online, on Simulcast. My bid was accepted, I was the high bidder, and couldn't bid anymore (against myself!). At least 5 full seconds passed. Right before the auction ended, the bid actually ROLLED BACK, to the company I was bidding against, and THEY "won" the auction -- for a lesser amount than my accepted/recorded bid!! No explanation could be offered when I raised hell to managers, GMs, and corporate. Needless to say I didn't get the car. Wow!

D. Attempted to sell a vehicle. Got the lane and run number. Watching the auction as I was out of town, my car miraculously DOESN'T EVEN RUN!! Wow!

I'm furious. And I'm not going to run it 40 cars afterward, as most buyers waiting for it would have already moved on, thinking it wasn't running. Missed that opportunity! Dealers bring cars to Manheim to RUN AND SELL -- correct??? How does that occur if those cars don't EVEN RUN?? Completely ridiculous!! The explanation? We had a big problem with that this week. Lots of cars were in different lanes for some reason, and never ran. Your car that should have been in Lane 2? Yeah it was in Lane 8 - not sure why and sorry! Let's try again next week... Lol.

It's laughable, truly!!!

5 stars are for the vehicles neg 3 stars for the employees; thus it only deserves 2 stars. Everytime I have to call back to get my cars floored; even though I tell them right after the sale. At 430 pm i will always get an email to pay because the floorplan ladies did not enter them. This is habitual. They had nerve one day to tell us "we floorplan as a favor to you" awwww no you do not Manheim pays them to work in the floorplan area.

No use ordering a floor on manheim app seriously ladies ignore it, but you can PSI a car during auction and they will pull and and complete a PSI b4 sale end or right after. SO I know it is not the app. FLoorplan ladies are lazy. they want to do the least amount of work possible for their pay. If I have to go to a manage for floorplan issues once ok; but not almost every auction its unacceptable.

Just call in for a copy of a Bill of Sale for back in Dec since that sale date no cars or displaying online or on manheim app..The lady was rude with attitude and said" get it from your app" when we explained no cars for that sale date where on my app she huffed and sighed. This manager needs to get these ladies attitude under control. there is no reason for them to be rude when you are being respectful and polite to them and there is no reason that I have to call them over and over to get them to put a car on floor plan so it can leave the gate a day after when you told them twice the day before..

I would not employ one of these ladies. Another peeve I have is that an employee once brought my PSI report and a copy of my Bill of Sale from manheim and tried to negotiate the vehicle selling price on my lot..Manheim should protect my information and a Bill of Sale should never leave their property unless its to one of my employees not their own so they can use them as buying tools..

Stephanie is amazing! Sweet lady I've ever met and very attentive to customer need. Atlanta manheim could really use some pointers from this one on customer service and organize skills.

BUYERS BEWARE!!! I purchased a 2016 high end Mercedes car that cost pretty penny, purchased the car via simulcast. i was relying on condition report to know what i was buying. The car was completely misrepresented including paint work, body damage & heavy interior wear and tear. None of that was disclosed. I called arbitration and even emailed management, according to them that's normal wear and tear and not subject to arbitration. I am a seasoned car dealer with over 15 years experience buying from manheim and never have i seen such a lack of ethic ans consumer rip off. To say the least they will not see another dollar from me.

Huge Manheim auction, you'll definitely need to use a shuttle to find your cars. Shuttle is busy, you need to wait for it, get ready to spend at least 5 hours here, if you need to pick up 5+ cars.
