Special and spiritual beautiful peaceful and healthy, worthwhile
Walking around the shrine on a sunny fall day is almost perfection. Then go eat and complete an amazing day.
Absolutely stunning, beautiful place, its a great place to go to relax and reflect
The first time I visited the churches, we got in and it's a spoonful Mass. One lady greeted me and at the end of the Mass, my family asked me to measure her hand and half money told me to go and say with my family that happened four times. years and that gesture I did not forget
A beautiful, holy & inspiring shrine. I hope I have a chance to return again.
Beautiful Shine! I go up almost every month to go to confessions and pray!
I was late to meet my class here. Did not appreciate attitude from golf cart man. I hit my head on the low hanging lights to the entrance of the church and I didn't feel welcome. Terrible service. I might have to go back and I don't want to.
A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.TO VISIT...SOOO PEACEFUL..IT TRUELY IS HEAVEN ON EARTH!!!!!
Amazing and beautiful surroundings in God's nature. Peaceful! Our youth group were silent and respectful at the memorial for the unborn.
We loved to walk the course to the chapel. It was so beautiful to see the paintings, and all the shrines.
This is my favorite place to visit whether it's by myself, with my wife, or as a family. Daily mass and daily reconciliation are offered. There are numerous events. Churches from all over plan pilgrimages here. They offer a weekly Latin Mass which is great. The memorial to the unborn is especially powerful.
Beautifully manicured grounds with lovely flowers everywhere. It is a very holy place. Quiet and peaceful. Celebrated Holy Mass at the magnificent main church. Enjoyed the rosary walk, the candle chaple, and the life garden. There are a few picnic tables to have lunch under a tree after walking around the serene grounds. We felt the presence of our blessed Mother Mary surrounding is while we were there. Thank you for creating this prayerful shrine!
I feel that visiting this place can empower my soul and
spirit, but mostly my..........."..FAITH "
The love and peace of the Blessed Mother's presence can be felt throughout the grounds and in the buildings. It is really beautiful and the staff couldn't be kinder or more thoughtful. We called ahead since our mom can't walk very far, and they were waiting for us so that they could bring her up the hill in their golf cart. We can't wait to go back.
The architecture was beautiful! There were marvelous pieces of artwork in the church. The staff was very knowledgeable and generally nice.
This is a shrine, so you need to be respectful at all times. They ask that you dress respectfully (jeans and a shirt are fine), respect others, respect the site, and do not bring pets along with you--unless it is a service animal.
The trails here can be a little steep, but they do have carts that take people up to the church if needed.
If I'm ever in the La Crosse area again, I would definitely revisit the church. It is absolutely breathtaking.
This place is so warm that even in the snow days you can feel its magic!!
Worse brunch ever - limited selection, poor quality food, substandard service, overpriced
Beautiful shine in the most beautiful part of Wisconsin! Truly a prayerful place with a dedicated and loving staff. I highly encourage you to visit! Truly a blessed site!
Beautiful buildings and picturesque hillside makes the half mile walk to the church well worth it. The visitors center had some very nice people that helped us out when we arrived. There was a mass when we visited so we could not go in the main church during the service but the visit was still well worth it.
A beautiful experience, with the most reverent Masses I've ever experienced.
Sure the most beautiful shrine to our wonderful blessed lady- they did a phenomenal job on the newly built shrine! It is a MUST to come here! So beautiful, breathtaking, and adorable.
A day of pilgrimage to the Shrine is always a beautiful day with Our Lady - no matter what season! My walk up the hill is always exciting and my walk down the hill at the end of the day is always one of extreme peace in my heart and soul. The healing grace's of confession, the beautiful Sacrifice of the Holy Mass, lunch at the Culina, outdoor stations and rosary walk quickly fill the day. Ending with the holy hour consisting of adoration/rosary/vespers and more led by the Friars tops the day of grace. I highly recommend it to all!!
We stopped on our way back to MN. I have to say it was my favorite unexpected stop. I was raised Catholic, but no longer practice. This didn t stop me from enjoying its beautiful grounds and delicious restaurant.
This entire place is so calming and just simply spectacular to walk around(especially in the fall). All the staff was very helpful and incredibly pleasant to talk with about the history of the place.
After our walk around the grounds, we were pleased to see they had a full restaurant. Lucky for us, it was a buffet of German/American food(Octoberfest time). The food was delicious. The dining room was stunning to sit and have a meal. The server was nice. The food was rather expensive, but worth it. We even bought several cakes and pies to go.
Again, this unexpected stop turned into my favorite part of the weekend. Regardless if you re religious or not, you ll enjoy the grounds and people immensely.
The last 2 years I have done a pilgrimage to the main 3 shrines in Wisconsin. I traveled from Our Lady of Good Help in Green Bay, to Holy Hill in Hubertus, and then to Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse. I love all 3 shrines and cannot emphasize how wonderful they all are.
It's a beautiful place I'm glad we took this day trip.
Watch, "HISTORY OF THE CATHOLIC INQUISITION," by Richard Bennett on
YouTube.
Wonderful! Wish I would have had more time. Peaceful. The people are wonderful.
we Love to come and pray and thank God for this amazing place and church that we have at la Cross .came end visit aur Lady of Guadalupe
A wonderful place to pray to our blessed lady. The nature trails provide a peaceful setting of meditation and reflection. Don't forget to bring your rosary!
I just loved the place super fabulous I go every year ..
Thank you Cardinal Burke for creating this beautiful Shrine for Our Lady of Guadalupe!
Wow was this great to see. I would take the time to check it out even if church is not your thing. Staff was great, very friendly and helpfull.
Beautiful peaceful spot. Good guided tour through the church.
Beautiful scenery. Tranquil setting. Very peaceful. Plenty of places to stop, meditate and pray. Well worth the visit.
This was a trip that I have been waiting to do for several years and I was not disappointed in my time spent there at all. Nor the feeling of being blest for having visited there.
Beautiful place restaurant had good food. Lots of parking
A Wonderful and Spiritual place to visit and STAY AWHILE...You will find Your experience very worthwhile for Your Mind, Body and Soul
Beautiful place, super peaceful. They have English, Spanish and Latin Mass!!!
We visited the end of Aug. The relics were miraculously beautiful. What hope they give to those in need.
Beautiful, peaceful, very spiritually inspiring. The Shrine of the Unborn....
Iam from Chicago and take a trip with my 4 sisters every year for the weekend. We love every moment of it, it s so peaceful and beyond beautiful. I m a big believer in our Lady of a Guadalupe and have so much faith in her.
On Sunday morning we have brunch at the restaurant which The food is delicious then we head up to mass.
It amazes me that all cultures come to visit the church and that s such a good feeling.
My sisters and I will be visiting for many more years to come.
Beautiful place, stations of the cross and walking rosary are amazing!
Beautiful shrine. Worth visiting if you are in the area. The cafe has great food too.
Just great. Beautiful location and architecture, staff is wonderful and friendly. Honestly thought such a shrine here was a silly idea till I visited. Even if you're not religious, check it out. It's really nice.
Great facility, beautiful scenery in the fall, has a good restaurant.
This is an awe inspiring, beautiful and holy place. It exceeded my expectations. My family and I felt fortunate to have the opportunity to spend the afternoon here.
This is a beautiful place of pilgrimage. Magnificent architecture, reverent liturgy, skillfully performed music, and a very knowledgeable and accommodating staff.
Wasn't finished building it when I was there, but looked like it would be amazing.
We went to Mass last weekend, the fourth Sunday of Advent. What a powerful and awe inspiring experience. The music and choir along with the reverence and mystery of the Mass was an uplifting experience. The priest gave a homily that brought tears to my eyes. How powerful. How sublime. I am so thankful to have experienced this and to have this only an hour or so from my home. Many thanks to all there. Thanks be to God and thanks be to the Blessed Mother. We also ate there and the meal was perfect. What an amazing place.
This is amazing shrine. The way goes up to the hill where shrine takes place is so attractive. I walked there, it is not so long way, but if you dont like, they have the small buses to help you get there. With the restaurant and gift store there you can buy some food for yourself and some gift for your relatives
This is a beautiful place! I think even if you do not practice a Catholic religion, this is a beautiful environment to visit, walk on the meditation path, enjoy the beautiful landscape and flowers. The Cafe' offers several delicious baked treats and soup. This is a newer built area; the church and chapel are exquisite!
Whatever I write about this wonderful place can not do it any worthy justice. All I can say is that if you find yourself nearby or feel a desire to make a pilgrimage to this site...do it! You will most certainly find your Blessed Mother waiting for you there, and the beauty of this place only serves to remind you of her unyielding love for you! Jesus humbled himself and desired to dwell in the Virgin's womb, and how great are the riches for us who choose to humble ourselves and find refuge within the confines of this same Woman, Our Mother.
Loved this place. i drove 5 1/2 hours to get here, but it was worth it. I came to see my Mother, and was happy to see her smiling at me.
Have to take a path to enter the church but have carts to take up up the path.
Very nice quiet quietly you can relax and come back again
Very pleasant experience wonderful place got to stay with the monks overnight and eat breakfast with them great people
It was a very good experience and I thank God for giving me this opportunity to visit this great sanctuary
First time visit. Plan to go back and take in more when weather warms up.
Mass was beautiful and loved the different areas to pray and learn more about our faith. The statue of the Holy family is something I spent quite a while reflecting on, make sure you take a look. The shrine is beautiful year round; stop, pray and take a look if you're in the area or passing through, or make the trip out just for this and you won't be disappointed.
Stunningly beautiful. Worthy basilica for the Mother of God.
It was so beautiful from the road that we couldn't pass it up. We needed to kill a little time and this seemed to be a fair enough option. We quickly learned that it was more of a workout than we had anticipated. It wasn't horrible, but a bit of a hike when you're in flip-flops.
Not being of the christian faith, this wasn't a spiritual achievement. Nonetheless, it was definitely worth a look.
I Wonderful place to visit whether you're Roman Catholic or not.
Beautiful shrine. The restaurant and gift shop are also lovely.
Breath taking in multiple ways! The connection to your soul and how the beauty around you is pleasing to the eye. Must stop to see and feel a spiritual connection.
