Beautiful grounds. Ate brunch in the restaurant which was delicious.
The stunningly beautiful uphill walk to the shrine chapel was the perfect way to begin our morning. You do not have to be of the Catholic faith to appreciate the love and beauty dripped into every aspect of the shrine. Staff were exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable. The cafe food was delicious and very moderately priced (highly recommend the french toast). My husband and I left feeling refreshed.
Incredible place! We enjoyed the various stops along the way. The folks here are very knowledgeable! We would go back when in the area. Folks with disabilities might have a rough time but the do have a covered golf cart to move folks with special needs. The trails are paved.
Wife insisted we stop here while in La Crosse so we did. It's a great place to visit and if you're in good shape you can hike up the path to the church; otherwise they have golf carts that run up and down the path. We took a gold cart up and then hiked back down. There are places to stop along the way so I suggest walking at least part way.
Shrine emanates peace and love in Wisconsin's most scenic setting.
We have returned twice since discovering this jewel. The grounds are beautiful as are the facilities with mass & confession opportunities. We have enjoyed the cafe both times. It is a very special place. We plan to go again.
Verjinsita takes care of us and we protect by this beautiful nature
Beautiful place to visit. The gardens are exceptional. We were so grateful that they have a golf cart available for those who can't walk the trail.
Loved the place. The trail up to the church is marvelous. And the small tuk tuk ride is enjoyable as well . Loved talking with the man who drove us up to the church . And its free ! Couldn't enjoy food in the restaurant last time .
Beautiful Catholic shrine in a beautiful setting. Dedicated in 2008 by Cardinal Burke, founder of the shrine. The architecture is breathtaking. One of the most beautiful churches in the Midwest. The walk to the shrine is equally beautiful, especially in the Fall. Don't miss the devotional areas around the shrine dedicated to different saints and to the unborn.
The Franciscans Friars of the Immaculate are in charge of the pastoral care of the shrine. Holy and hardworking priests who celebrate the sacraments very reverently.
A very special place worth the visit and then some!
I recall the controversy when the shrine was being built. This is a very special place to visit of which I will always be grateful for. It offers much beyond what I could possibly write in a review. Thank you for having the vision to build it.

Amazing shrine; beautiful place to pray. We plan to visit at least annually!
What a gorgeous place. Was blessed to be able to return!
Very beautiful and worth the stop even if you're not Catholic.
We went on a family vacation and decided we wanted to take our children on a little pilgrimage and found this shrine close by to us. I never imagined that it was going to be so beautiful. The grounds and church was breathtaking and every detail had such meaning. I loved the path up to the church. It felt like a true pilgrimage. We highly recommend visiting this shrine. It is such a gem.
What a beautiful place of prayer. Thanks for the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate for offering a wonderful Mass and devotions! Thanks Cardinal Burke
Pleasantly surprised!! Was not sure what to expect on cold winter day - but so incredibly beautiful even in -2o. Classy almost luxurious, clean, friendly - spiritual. Will try to visit more - worth the drive.
It was interesting. I'm not catholic, or generally religious. So some of the symbolism is lost on me, but I enjoyed the visit.
So beautiful and peaceful. Very well maintained and a place every Christian should visit. Make that every person, Christian or not, should visit.
Absolutely beautiful! with an excellent restaurant on the premises
Peaceful shrine south of La Crosse, easy to find as one can follow signs off Interstate 90.
Visitor center with restrooms, shop and cafe are at the bottom of the hill. A walk up toward the Shrine winds past a small chapel and several gardens before reaching the Shrine. For those unable to complete the walk, there's a cart. The grounds and buildings, along with the Shrine itself are well taken care of and peaceful, quiet, pretty places.
The complex is great in both summer and winter. Mass and confession are offered on occasions throughout the week, check schedule.
Beautiful place. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Beautiful church tucked away in the hills outside of LaCrosse.
Always very beautiful place . Peaceful. Love visiting .
Apparently God and Our Lady of Guadalupe do not like dogs!!! Or dog lovers. Brought my family who were visiting to the Shrine today with our family pet terrior dog. Along our walk up to the shrine we met many other family's who stopped and commented on how lovely our little dog was. Obviously we had no intention of bringing our dog into the actual church and I handed over my dog to my husband so I could go in with my relations. Just as I turned to go in a lady driving a cart started to shout at me was this my dog, in front of an audience of people outside the church. I, not comfortable with all the stares approached the lady in the cart and said yes. The lady went on to say unless my dog was a service dog she was not allowed on the grounds. My husband asked where in fact was there a sign to indicate this. There is none!!!! But it is on a 8 by 11 printed piece of paper in the bottom corner in the window of the main entrance which is covered by a plant!!!!!!! Yeah not the Christian experience I was expecting
It was very pretty. I didn't go all the way to the top but the gift shop was pretty cool and the little chapel had a lot of beautiful windows.
Nice shrine but for the money that was put into it the electrical contractor could've done their work to code.
Very nice to go there where the Virgin of Guadalupe I travel every year in August
It is a very beatiful place the gift shop has many thing to look at. In the church it is really beautiful.
Wonderful grounds beautiful church and devotion stops
Everything here is serene, beautiful and blessed! My husband and are grateful for this holy shrine, and appreciate the good priests and staff working here. We have never been disappointed.
Beautiful place to pray and visit. Daily mass at 11am. They have a rosary walk and a stations of the cross walk.
Worth checking out for its magnificent architecture and tasteful decorating. As close to European interiors as Wisconsin's bound to get
Whether you re religious or not, the shrine is a peaceful place to contemplate.
It was really nice to go see my virgen marry and more happy that my grandma came from Mexico and she was real happy to go see her Shes real believer
The peace and tranquility when you enter the grounds is overwhelming. A must pilgrimage!!!
Beautiful, reverent place to spend time. Trails are paved and not too steep. Even if you aren't Catholic, go check out the beauty of this place.
Fantastic place of worship. Very highly recommended.
I had a beautiful pilgrimage to this site and reccomend all faithful travel there. I feel bad for those I came in contact with though as i only took one tunic, set of clothes, so I could not dress properly for mass. But spend 3 or so days at least
Waited over a half hour for the ride back down after telling the driver that we needed one.
While driving from NY to Las Vegas on the highway, I saw the sign for the shrine and I had to stop and spend the night and go to the shrine the next morning. Our Lady of Guadalupe entered my life at the age of 8 when she appeared in my bedroom one night. My sister told me I would sleep talk in spanish to someone. I believe it was Our Lady. 40 years later.... and now for the past couple of months she has come back into my life guiding me towards something I just haven't figured out what. When I saw the sign . I had to stop and all I can say " It was well worth it " I loved it.
Lovely place and Nature. Beautiful serenity. A calm place.
What a beautiful & peaceful way to spend a summer afternoon. Wish I lived nearby to frequent & meditate
I really like the church and the inside of it.. There's more shrine type things there... They even have the Jesus walk.. Its very pretty there!
Beautiful place to be in cominion.with God and his most holy mother
What a beautiful shrine, church, stations and rosary walks; and grounds. We made the 9am Latin Mass on Sunday, been a lot of years for me, when I was an alter boy in the 60s. Lots of photos. Great gift shop and cafe as well. We spent 3 hours here and could easily double that. The whole area is built on a wonderful, treed steep hillside. They offer cart rides to those that need them.
This is a beautiful, peaceful place to come to whether you are religious or not. The walk up to the shrine was paved and they had carts that would take you up if you didn't want to walk. They have a great onsite restaurant to if you want a bite to eat. Great experience and I will be coming back and bringing my friends and family.
