The stunningly beautiful uphill walk to the shrine chapel was the perfect way to begin our morning. You do not have to be of the Catholic faith to appreciate the love and beauty dripped into every aspect of the shrine. Staff were exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable. The cafe food was delicious and very moderately priced (highly recommend the french toast). My husband and I left feeling refreshed.

Incredible place! We enjoyed the various stops along the way. The folks here are very knowledgeable! We would go back when in the area. Folks with disabilities might have a rough time but the do have a covered golf cart to move folks with special needs. The trails are paved.

Wife insisted we stop here while in La Crosse so we did. It's a great place to visit and if you're in good shape you can hike up the path to the church; otherwise they have golf carts that run up and down the path. We took a gold cart up and then hiked back down. There are places to stop along the way so I suggest walking at least part way.

We have returned twice since discovering this jewel. The grounds are beautiful as are the facilities with mass & confession opportunities. We have enjoyed the cafe both times. It is a very special place. We plan to go again.

Loved the place. The trail up to the church is marvelous. And the small tuk tuk ride is enjoyable as well . Loved talking with the man who drove us up to the church . And its free ! Couldn't enjoy food in the restaurant last time .

Beautiful Catholic shrine in a beautiful setting. Dedicated in 2008 by Cardinal Burke, founder of the shrine. The architecture is breathtaking. One of the most beautiful churches in the Midwest. The walk to the shrine is equally beautiful, especially in the Fall. Don't miss the devotional areas around the shrine dedicated to different saints and to the unborn.

The Franciscans Friars of the Immaculate are in charge of the pastoral care of the shrine. Holy and hardworking priests who celebrate the sacraments very reverently.

I recall the controversy when the shrine was being built. This is a very special place to visit of which I will always be grateful for. It offers much beyond what I could possibly write in a review. Thank you for having the vision to build it.

We went on a family vacation and decided we wanted to take our children on a little pilgrimage and found this shrine close by to us. I never imagined that it was going to be so beautiful. The grounds and church was breathtaking and every detail had such meaning. I loved the path up to the church. It felt like a true pilgrimage. We highly recommend visiting this shrine. It is such a gem.

Pleasantly surprised!! Was not sure what to expect on cold winter day - but so incredibly beautiful even in -2o. Classy almost luxurious, clean, friendly - spiritual. Will try to visit more - worth the drive.

Peaceful shrine south of La Crosse, easy to find as one can follow signs off Interstate 90.

Visitor center with restrooms, shop and cafe are at the bottom of the hill. A walk up toward the Shrine winds past a small chapel and several gardens before reaching the Shrine. For those unable to complete the walk, there's a cart. The grounds and buildings, along with the Shrine itself are well taken care of and peaceful, quiet, pretty places.

The complex is great in both summer and winter. Mass and confession are offered on occasions throughout the week, check schedule.

Apparently God and Our Lady of Guadalupe do not like dogs!!! Or dog lovers. Brought my family who were visiting to the Shrine today with our family pet terrior dog. Along our walk up to the shrine we met many other family's who stopped and commented on how lovely our little dog was. Obviously we had no intention of bringing our dog into the actual church and I handed over my dog to my husband so I could go in with my relations. Just as I turned to go in a lady driving a cart started to shout at me was this my dog, in front of an audience of people outside the church. I, not comfortable with all the stares approached the lady in the cart and said yes. The lady went on to say unless my dog was a service dog she was not allowed on the grounds. My husband asked where in fact was there a sign to indicate this. There is none!!!! But it is on a 8 by 11 printed piece of paper in the bottom corner in the window of the main entrance which is covered by a plant!!!!!!! Yeah not the Christian experience I was expecting

I had a beautiful pilgrimage to this site and reccomend all faithful travel there. I feel bad for those I came in contact with though as i only took one tunic, set of clothes, so I could not dress properly for mass. But spend 3 or so days at least

While driving from NY to Las Vegas on the highway, I saw the sign for the shrine and I had to stop and spend the night and go to the shrine the next morning. Our Lady of Guadalupe entered my life at the age of 8 when she appeared in my bedroom one night. My sister told me I would sleep talk in spanish to someone. I believe it was Our Lady. 40 years later.... and now for the past couple of months she has come back into my life guiding me towards something I just haven't figured out what. When I saw the sign . I had to stop and all I can say " It was well worth it " I loved it.

What a beautiful shrine, church, stations and rosary walks; and grounds. We made the 9am Latin Mass on Sunday, been a lot of years for me, when I was an alter boy in the 60s. Lots of photos. Great gift shop and cafe as well. We spent 3 hours here and could easily double that. The whole area is built on a wonderful, treed steep hillside. They offer cart rides to those that need them.

This is a beautiful, peaceful place to come to whether you are religious or not. The walk up to the shrine was paved and they had carts that would take you up if you didn't want to walk. They have a great onsite restaurant to if you want a bite to eat. Great experience and I will be coming back and bringing my friends and family.
