The food was amazing! Our waitress Tammy, was awesome! We will definitely come back again!

The crab cake was wonderful. It fell apart some, but that's only because there's very little filling and oh so much crab. It was seasoned well too. There was another meal that had strange breading on the fish, which was sub par. The service was nice and friendly.

Both the service and the food was great. I highly recommend the fish tacos, and get the third or you'll regret it. I got the fish blackened and it had the perfect amount of spicy kick. Don't miss out on this place.

I live in Va beach and came up here for an event. I decided to try this place out due the amazing reviews. The atomsphere and service was great, but the food lacked real flavor. My friend got the shrimp and grits and i got the gumbo. Both were kind of bland and just ok. Maybe my expectations were too high based off the reviews.

I went in for lunch today. And the table and menus were sticky the drinkware and silverware were nasty looking. The food is just ok. And then they want $65. I dont mind paying high dollar for a meal. But make it a clean good experience. This is lunch time I wonder how dirty it will be by dinner time.

Fresh seafood, good service, good wine/beer list as well. Went with a group of 10, we had a fair wait 20 min. The server was prompt and personable.

Food is very good, staff is very friendly and it's a very popular place to eat. Because of this, it's a little bit noisy. But if you can overlook the slightly noisy crowd, you will enjoy your time there.

One of our favorite spots to go for dates! It's reminiscent of an OBX restaurant and the food is amazing! The atmosphere is relaxed but the service is prompt. The BBQ shrimp, fried calamari, crab legs, crab cakes and hush puppies are all superb.

Food was superb. Service excellent. Prices good. Loved the BB Platter. Hope to return

Very good but a little expensive. Tasty oysters but some were small while others were a good size and meaty. The shrimp was some of the best I've had. The snow crab was good, nothing special. The Mahi tacos were awesome. I'll definitely come back here... On payday weekend lol

This is my Go To for seafood! The Towers are my favorite. Sabrina is the best server ever! Attentive, Considerate, and Friendly. A Rum Runner is a MUST when visiting!!!

Food was great, and the last 2 times we were there the service was superior. Had Andy once and I think the girls name was Danai both were very nice and very efficient. Other times service can be subpar. But these two are on point.

Seafood salad is marvelous. Lots of seafood, great green salad, good dressing, totally awesome and around $15 if I recall correctly. it's a great lunch. A little noisy, very happy place. Outdoor seating might be quieter, but it is on a main road, set back a bit from the road with landscaping to make a better view.

Overall this is a great place. Staff was friendly, helpful and quick. We got the harpoon combo with fried flounder and boy was it great. It's large enough to share with someone. The fish was cook perfectly, good flavor. Shrimp was seasoned so good and crab cakes were delicious.

We were on a long weekend getaway and ate here not just once but twice. Food and service is excellent.

We ate here on February 20,2019 after visiting the Maritime Museum (great stop!) Friendly staff, very nice waiter, fast service but it was at 4:15 pm (before the dinner crowd.) I had the Larry Burger and sweet potato fries , excellent! Also had the crab cakes and shrimp which were both excellent. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat if in town!

I don't enjoy seafood, but loved my time here! A work function brought a group of us here, and I sampled someone's shrimp to my amazement - and promptly ordered a half-pound!
Management (Andrea) was attentive, funny and on-point. Service (another Andrea) was knowledgeable of the menu, sweet and fast. Great experience, will absolutely return.

You won't find more consistent food and they have always been known for having the best bartenders.

FYI you get 3 small stuffed mushrooms for 10.99. Service was awful and prices were too much for quality of food. #firstandlasttime

I've never had a bad experience here. Somehow they get better and better!! The staff is amazing and the food is always great! They are very personable and always willing for any accommodations. Come and dine Herr and you won't be disappointed!!!!

My Mother and I both had The She Crab Salmon. Puddle of she crab base with a piece of garlic bed, blackened Salmon on top with she crab and lump crab meat topping it all. Im not lying when I say it is THE BEST thing Ive ever had in my life.

Love em - a favorite local spot for ages in this area; in recent years a larger and easier to access place has brought in more people and made me happy with their oyster and beer selections and occasional surprise menu item like parmesan crusted soft shells on alfredo pasta.. so good!

I absolutely love their buffalo oysters and the stuffed mushrooms are a must for starters..They also feature a special on weeknights.The place is large. The people are friendly and the bar has a great selection.

First of all, I'm a local. I use to go to Harpoon Larry's a lot and I always took my out-of-town guests for dinner here. The food is excellent, which is why we loved it, but after my last visit I am nothing but disappointed and pissed.

My husband and I, along with our 3 out-of-town guests, arrived early enough that the dinner crowd hadn't really started. The hostess said 20-25 minutes and we went to wait thinking it would be even faster since it looked pretty bare. 30 minutes (and 1 big group that showed up after us) past ..one of my guests went in ask and was told we were next. Another 20 minutes (and 2 more big groups that showed up after us) past...guest went and asked again and was told we were next. Another 10 minutes and a 4th big group that had been there less than 5 minutes was called. I quickly intervened and expressed that we were being forgotten and it was getting ridiculous. The hostess was completely disrespectful to me and proceeded to finally take us to our seat. Fuming mad, yes, but I calmly expressed to our waitress that our experience thus far was not grand and I'd like to talk to a manager. We proceeded to go about our meal (our waitress was great and so was our food, btw). We get the check and proceed to pay but I yet again asked to speak with a manager. Our waitress seemed shocked that he had not come by earlier (only to later find out that the one she told decided to LEAVE for the day)...the new manager on duty came over (which I know his name if anyone from Harpoon Larry's wishes to contact me over this) to talk. I calmly expressed all my issues from the night, explaining we came there often and that night was a particular embarrassment for my guests that I promised a nice evening.....only then was I boldly dismissed as "the hostess is usually very good" and then further ignored while he discussed beer with 2 of my male guests. The manager proceeded to ignore me and my husband as we tried to talk, and then ignored my 3rd guest as she requested more coffee. The manager brought out 2 free beers for my two male guests, leaving me, my husband, and my 3rd guest just sitting there.

Keep in mind, I wasn't looking for a free meal but we did just drop $150 on dinner, a little respect would have been nice. There are a lot of things I can tolerate but bad service is not one of them. Before leaving I quickly reminded the manager again that he screwed up; my husband and I were the pissed off locals and it would have been in Harpoon Larry's best interest to make me feel better, not ignore me and discuss beer with my 2 guests.

Big, big mistake. I can forgive a bad hostess, but there is no excuse for bad management.

Haven't been in a while. Had a broiled crab cake sandwich.. it was delicious Plenty of crab meat with great service.

Fried oysters are excellent and you get a plentiful amount with the dinner order. Sides were excellent as well
Service was pretty good, could be a little more attentive to drink cups, but overall pretty good.

Food is on point, the staff is great, and the alcohol worked as intended.

Overall, very good dinner. Each meal was cooked perfectly and the sides were awesome. The boom sauce was super good and added a lot of taste to the oysters. And ordering the calamari was a nice call since my girlfriend loves the app. She couldn't stop eating it....LOL!! And she even liked some of my food.

Cool little dive place. Prices were about the same as most other seafood restaurant/bars. Food was pretty good and the oysters were fresh, service was a bit slow but it was extremely busy. Overall a good place to catch a bite to eat

The food was so good. I had the Mahi Fish tacos with sweet potato fries. Our server Steve was exceptional. Definitely will be returning for another great dining experience.

We ordered the raw oysters, the slider plate, and the killer seafood nachos, and some rum runners and dark and stormy drinks. Absolutely amazing food and drinks as well as atmosphere! Highly recommended eating here and if you do ask for Emily she was the best server we have had in a long time!

A very good restaurant. Clean, friendly, and delicious food. Proper health precautions are taken at the door and I was seated relatively quickly. Even during the lunch hour.
Service was very friendly and the people are wonderful.

Atmosphere is very light and country. With a very good sense of pride.

Now on to the food.
I asked the service what food they reccomend and they told me the "She crab Salmon blackened". Which I ordered on recommendation.

I will say I was very very satisfied with the results. The main dish came out relatively quickly and tasted absolutely amazing. The salmon cooked exactly how I wanted it and the she crab on top added such a nice creamy taste to mix in with the flavorful blackened salmon.

A must have for fish lovers.

I love this place so much, specially if I'm craving for noodles this is just a perfect place to be with, I have been here for a couple of time and really enjoy the service and food..

I had an oyster Po-boy there last night..........was the worst one I ever had! ! ! ! There was 7 very small lumps of doughy fried something that did not even resemble oysters in taste or looks. This was served on a large hot dog bun smothered in diced lettuce....must have been to make the oysters look big. The sauce for it was different, but not exceptional. This sandwich is NOT worth the money!

Harpoon Larry's is delicious! I've rode by it and read reviews for it by finally stopped in with some friends on a Sunday, a crush Sunday to be exact! We tried some of their crush beverages which were yummy!We started off with crab dip! Wow!! I love crab dip and this is some of the best crab dip I've ever had.

Food was tasty. Service was quick even tho it was very busy.

Great food and friendly staff! Great service despite the Rona virus!

Service not so good. Waitress too involved with two men at the bar. Food was average.

Expensive but the best crab cake around! Sweet potato fries are good! Fish Tacos are discounted on Tuesdays and pretty good.
