Spacious room with a little living room attached. Very comfortable.
Very nice room with NYC skyline views. Price was correct, eventhough the chstged my credit card twice. They refunded the error.
TLDR: A nice hotel in a great location run by apathetic managers and staff.
Upon check-in my family was made to wait in the lobby for 2 1/2 hours. Every time I checked with the front desk I was told it would "20 more minutes"
My family was hungry and tired after a long drive and I simply asked for the truth of how long the wait would be so we could atleast get something to eat if it was going to be awhile. I got the "I wish I could help" response and continued to wait.
Once we were finally checked into the room, my wife stepped in a wet spot on the floor and half the room didn't have power. We called down to the front desk and we were told they would send some one up to fix it and we would be given breakfast vouchers.
No one came that day to fix the room or give any vouchers. 6 PM the next day we called again and this time the response was very quick. They asked when we called the day before, and said we should have called mutiple times until we got a response.
When we asked about the vouchers again, we were asked who we spoke with (We were never given a name) and told that person we were currently speaking with didn't have the authority to issue vouchers, "I wish I could help" speech ensued.
We tried speaking with the front desk a final time and got the same response. "I wish I could help", "We don't have a manager in right now", "There's nothing I can do"
The hotel is very nice, but not worth dealing with staff that could care less how they treat you.
A good option to stay if not want to pay for the high price in Manhattan. The bus ride to manhattan is just 20 mins. Bus stop is just outside hotel.
And very nice jogging track along the riverside facing manhattan!
My husband and I go here once a year for the most part. Rooms are clean(and we've stayed in every "type"), staff is amazing, great scenery and food is good.
Old. Staff is fine. Bar will close early if there is nobody there. Kinda lame. Oh and the hot water is occasionally yellow..
I will never come back to this place. Went to this place made two night reservations while I was driving in the middle of a big rain storm. Arrived around 4:00 am and found out they charge for parking $25.00. I informed the person behind the desk that no one notified me and that I ve made the reservation over the phone while I was driving on my way there and he didn t care so I ended up canceling one night. No consideration whatsoever. I will never ever go back to this place.
Stay away from this place. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Ok place. They say free parking but we were charged $30.00 plus what the cost quoted when the reservations were made. You pay for parking or you can't park in their parking lot. The place was clean and plenty of room to move around. Made reservations in a group and they had us on all different floors.
Dock for ferry to NYC next door. Restaurant had good food. Great location.
Great location near River and across from City. Friendly staff and easy parking.
Great Hotel nice views. Love to stay at this hotel.
Big room beautiful views of NYC skyline. Will say again.
It was a nice hotel and a nice view. However, the shower did not fully work.
The room I was staying in was ok. It was clean anc comfortable. Wifi was $10 per night. Room service was reasonable (didnt get to try any). The staff was extreamly friendly and helpful. Overall it was your average hotel experience.
I am a Lifetime Platinum with Marriott - Sheraton. The hotel is a good location and easy access to NYC due to the ferry option which they have. The ferry is billed directly to the room which also eases buying a ticket and paying for it. The club (it is in an adjoining building) and the rooms are also good. Great location also to reach NYC via road, as it is very close to the tunnel, so you would escape all the traffic to get from NJ to the tunnel. The view from the rooms are also good, facing the water. What is bad is the entire user experience - the waiting time to get checked in can be as long as 20 - 25 minutes at times. I had a billing issue I checked out after one night, but the hotel charged me for 2 nights. I had to call the accounts person 5 - 6 times before I could get them online. Multiple times they transferred me to housekeeping and there were times when they did not pick the call intentionally (as I kept calling back to reach the right person). This included multiple times wait time of 30 - 40 minutes. Overall I would recommend it for location but not for service.
Great view of the NYC skyline right outside the hotel. The problem with the hotel is how it compares to others. 1) At the Sheraton, you get 3 devices with free wifi - no other hotel limits the number of devices and most families are more than 3. This screams of a cash grab. 2) I wanted to connect my camera to the TV to see the videos I took but the remote controls don't allow you to change the input. According to the Manager on staff when I asked, the remotes have been replaced because "we don't trust our guests inputting their own devices onto our TVs." This is either insulting or yet another cash grab where they're worried people will connect their own entertainment devices and not order their pay-per-view movies.
Decent service, room was slightly smaller than expected but had good atmosphere. Food was awesome.
Not even worth 1 star... We checked in as part of a wedding block. When we returned to the hotel after the wedding at 11:30PM and when we went to retire to our room we found we were double booked with another guest. We were then told we would have to wait an hour for another room. We finally received a room at about 1:30AM, this room was in another building, not even remotely close to anyone else in this wedding block. With the inconvenience and mix up they told us we would not be charged. 4 days later there was the full charge for the room on my credit card. I called to dispute with Shelly, the woman who was in charge of the wedding booking. After discussing with her for 45 minutes on the phone, she said she would speak with her manager and return my call in less than an hour... 10 days later still no call back or resolution!!! So unprofessional! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
I've never stayed there but they generously let me park there overnight after getting stuck in a snowstorm and deciding to walk home from there. Thank you for having a soul and helping a stranded traveler.
My stay here wasn't the greatest. When I initially booked I booked a King room with a request of having a ocean view. After booking I received an email from the hotel stating that in order to get the view I would have to upgrade. So instead of upgrading I decided to get a Queen room instead which would have the view as shown in the pictures. I then confirmed it with the hotel and the person communicating with me via email said that they will provide that. When I arrived to the hotel room there was no view when I called the front desk they told me all the queen rooms with a view has been filled and although I requested it doesn t guarantee it, however when I spoke to the person via email they confirmed that I would get the view. So fast forward I called back downstairs and asked for a king bedroom since they were the same price and I m not getting the view as promised we rather have a bigger bed. When I called backed the front desk clerk said he was able to get a me and my husband a view but it would be two queen beds. I agreed and we transferred to another room. QUEEN BEDS!! more like single beds the beds were so small the smallest bed I ve ever seen in a hotel my bed at home is a queen and its no way this was that, it was a struggle just to sleep in the same bed. Needless to say me and my husband were extremely disappointed, I will never stay here again.
Clean, quiet, conveniently located to ferry. A pleasant experience.
Qui if not very well, expensive and stinky to cigar
Not my favorite place. Bad food. Inattentive staff.
I stayed in executive suite great size room for being in NYC lol and great views. Very clean, quiet, and great amenities!
Great views, right across the street from the 37th Street ferry, inexpensive by New York standards.
Stayed a while ago. I had a good time and it was very nice.
The room is spacious and staff are friendly! I really love the location. There s a bus stop right outside hotel to New York City. It only takes 15-20 mins w/o traffic. But if there s traffic jam during peak hours it might take around 25-35 mins.
Very convenient location. Internet connection is very weak. The location is 50 yards from the path train.. You can be in lower Manhattan in 10 mins. A mall is in walking distance too.
We were pretty disappointed with the Sheraton. For a hotel as expensive as this, the MINIMUM amenities you expect in this day and age is access to internet, but they charge you EXTRA for it!! Breakfast (although it is good) is not included either and comes at a hefty price of $23 USD + tips. We booked a Manhattan city view room, which certainly came at a price, only to find out it was more of a parking lot view with Manhattan far in the distance (see photo), nothing like the hotel displays it. The bin in the room had not been emptied from previous guests and coffee making facilities had not been restocked, leaving us only with a single cup of coffee. Room also very dated, no charm.
Coming from our closet of a hotel room in Manhattan, the Sheraton was a welcoming adventure. This location is right on the Hudson River and feet from the NY Waterway. We caught bus 158 from the Port Authority and it is a very short walk to the hotel (few feet). We were checked in one hour earlier and basked in our spacious room on the 8th floor. We had a wonderful view. This hotel is a little outdated but the room was very welcoming. The pool and fitness center were under renovation which was a bummer but the fitness center was relocated to a temporary home on the 2nd floor I think.
The beds were okay. Too soft for my comfort, but decent. We had (2) tvs in our room and a separate lounge area. There was no microwave or frig. We were provided (2) free bottled waters. There is a nice business area in the lobby.
There really isn't much of a nightlife if you are not driving in this area. The better option seemed to be commuting back to New York. There is a Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Houlihan's, and a food court at the Shops at Lincoln Harbor. These are literally across the street from the hotel. The hotel has an in-house restaurant but we never ventured there. The NJ Light Rail is about a 7-10min walk from the hotel if you want to experience a little more of New Jersey. Tickets cost $2.25.
It was very nice to take walks during the day or night on the boardwalk. Overall, it was an okay stay.
Room was fine. Really could've used an in room fridge.
Great staff. Really helpful and nice. Great location. Close to the Lincoln Tunnel by road. Has buses to and from New York all night. Has connectivity to the NJ light rail. Decent rooms. Some of them have great city views. :) A few good restaurants in the neighborhood. Overall, a nice place to stay if you are here for work.
Awesome views from the panoramic suite!! Really wish i got some photos.
Great views, good bar and restaurant in house. Nice continental breakfast
Hospitality with all smiles! Experience was very comfortable and relaxed. Staff very pleasant offered immediate and personal attention to guests. The breathtaking riverside views are exquisite, especially in evenings. Lobbies are clean and inviting for you to sit a recapture your moment. Truly a pleasant hotel.
Location, location, location...this is a very nice hotel in an excellent location. We stay here quite often during our travels. The staff is usually courteous but not always the friendliest. In their defense this is a very busy place. I feel like more often then not we check in with the entire staff of Virgin Airlines or some other group! The restaurant is ok so I would recommend going across the street to Ruth Chris or down the street to Chart House. There are also alot of places that will deliver to the hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean but I would recommend the executive suite if it fits your needs. The room is huge with a separate bedroom and a city view. The NY waterway ferry picks up right outside the hotel so there is no fighting traffic to get in or out of the city!! We really like this place. We have stayed other places, but we always come back to here when booking new trips.
Staff was friendly and helpful, easy access to and from lincoln tunnel, great view of new york city, alot quitier and half the price of staying in NYC.Would definitely recommend
A typical North American big car shop, with general facilities and general services, has no obvious upgrade benefits for Platinum. The Executive Lounge is ridiculously ridiculous. The location is acceptable. Downstairs there is a water taxi to the city.
With customer service like this Sheraton should be ashamed of themselves. I would not stay here again. They could not accommodate my request for 2 beds and refused to issue a refund. The manager repeatedly refused to do anything to help. He robotically just kept repeating himself that it was Sheraton's policy and there was nothing he could do. The best he could do is offer a rollaway or sofa bed. Well, the sofa bed was horrible and didn't have sheets. They said they we very busy and they only had a top sheet with holes in it. Well the Sheraton just lost a good customer for life.
We had a fairly large north American meeting there. The location is great, right on the water front across from mid town Manhattan. The ferry is very short walk away, and the ride to Manhattan is all of 7 mins. The rooms where nice, no complaints there. However the food that they served for our lunches was very disappointing. There was only one working elevator, so the elevator was often crowded and the wait for it was long, however I believe they were working on updating the other elevator, finally we found out there was an employee only service elevator which we ended up using.
Nice hotel. Pool water not so clear. Run out of towels. Long walk from front desk to west wing. From west wing to pool or gym you will have to pass by the front desk in your swim suit while guests checking in are in suits. Poor layout. Rooms are nice, though. Our room was overlooking manhattan skyline where you can just stare at the view at night while in bed.
This hotel has a list of problems, including malfunctioning TVs, misrepresentation of amenities; the rooms do not have coffee makers, and the single rudest hotel manager woman that we have ever encountered, although we re nothing but polite. That said, Addie was super sweet and accommodating and she deserves a raise.
Excellent location.very relaxed hotel with stunning views of Manhattan.
Great service, nice location, east access to the ferry to NYC.
Very delicious food and breakfast where I enjoy every morning
This most horrible experience with front office staff! I have worked in the hospitality industry all my life and have a degree in the field. The way the staff handled giving information was unacceptable. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Only used their parking lot but it looked like a nice hotel with great views of the water and New York City.
Pleasantly surprised. Got this hotel on hotwire, not in the city but between the ferry and the bus it's a quick and cheap ride into the city!!
Room was disgusting, stains on the mattress, snot on the pillow case, hair everywhere. I expected more from the Sheraton and won't be staying there again
Room was huge and great views of the Manhattan skyline. Great neighbourhood with plenty of places to eat a short walk away.
Views are amazing!! Lounge breakfast is disappointing and room was a bit outdated. Overall good experience
Great room with plenty of room! Easy Waterway Taxi access!
But th to tv ex no rich dc vd tv stub Nov ttfm cynic evening
place ideally placed with a breathtaking view of manhattan
Very nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and top notch amenties. No complaints.
Charged for wifi and parking , then over charged for the room. Also refused to let us cancel one night due to a horrible snowstorm which closed down all of the roads, said they would cancel our entire reservation and still charge us for all nights if we did not get there THAT night. Only pro is the location .
Extremely dissatisfied with the club lounge. It's a bad joke. The suite had towels with brown stains evident of not being washed properly, a nice surprise after a long day of traveling.
It was a big room and everything was great. Close to the bus and ferry!
Nice stay. The elevator was broken tho.. so it was taking forever to go in/out of the room. The staff was nice but the housekeeping staff need some improvement. We asked for one extra towel and we had to remind them one hour later cause they never gave it to us. Had to ask for the extra towel the next two nights as well... They didn t refill the coffee.
Overall, good stay. Nice location from the bus and the ferry. Great view of NYC.
Best view of NYC. Clean, friendly staff, very comfortable bed...loved the stay!
Other than view of Manhattan, I would not stay here when you can get hotel in time square for the same price. The only main way to get to Manhattan is thru ferry $9.50/trip. Otherwise u have to take a train then the PATH which is longer. Hotel is definitely not Sheraton standards. Stay here if you really just want isolation. Stay at the hotels in Newport or Hoboken, closer to public transportation and safer.
fantastic Thanksgiving night with spectacular views,
The hotel itself was wonderful. Everyone was very nice & helpful. Loved the city view and being right on the water. It was easy to hop on the ferry or catch the bus. However, the food at Jack s was highly overpriced & awful. The first night I ordered fried chicken & it came out burnt. 23$ Per person for a breakfast buffet (That should ve been a free continental breakfast) was very disappointing. I ordered pancakes and they were inedible. Minus Jacks, we loved our stay and would definitely return.
