Staff is very responsive and rooms are spacious. Convenient location
Fantastic place. We could not have been any happier. The staff was absolutely fabulous. The hotel is new. Right on the golf course. Close enough to Penn State and to all the other sites and Happy Valley. I would definitely recommend to anybody who's going to Penn State for a visit or anyting to stay there.
Our wedding day was PERFECT. We initially picked the Days Inn because of the perfect location downtown and the beautiful hall. Little did we know that we would be working with a sales coordinator and banquet manager that would make our day amazing! Cari was the sales coordinator and was amazing from day we met her. She was always so helpful and would get back to me right away if I ever had questions. She thought of all the details that I didn t think of. She was organized, kind and knowledgeable. We got there the day before because we had to set up a lot of stuff ourselves. The banquet manager Julia made sure to take that off of our hands and handled it all for us. The day of the wedding many guests came in earlier than check in time, and the Days Inn did the best to accommodate everyone. The staff was kind enough to hand out goodie bags to all of our guests. The wedding went perfect and Cari was there for me every step of the day. The room looked absolutely beautiful. The banquet staff set up everything as I imagined and even added things that I forgot! The food was delicious, just as it was when we taste tested. I couldn t have asked for a better day and it was all because of Cari and Julia. These two ladies worked tirelessly the day before and the day of my wedding to make sure everything went smoothly. Thank you Cari, Julia and the rest of the staff at Days Inn Penn State for making our day the best day of our lives! I would HIGHLY recommend the Days Inn for a beautiful reception and a great place to stay!
Location is perfect. Rooms are clean and service is great. The place is a bit dated but still nice.
Great service and friendly staff. I was here for a week of training and never had any issues. The restaurant attached does get busy in the evenings and fills up with college kids. I'd definitely stay again!
Was sent there because our reserved hotel had a water main break. I was pleasantly surprised it is a friendly, beautiful hotel that I also dog friendly. We loved our stay
Great staff, clean rooms, nothing negative to say about it. Would recommend others to stay here as well
It's a great place to stay at PSU. Great locatio. Great times.
Needs a makeover. Close walk to many dining options and bars. Apparently allows pets as we heard a dog barking literally all weekend (early morning and late night) apparently left in the room while owners were out. Not even a continental breakfast offered.
Room was as expected, very dog friendly, and the hotel was fairly quiet overall
If I could rate this hotel a zero I would. It was probably the worst hotel I have ever set foot in. Old. Outdated. Pretty creepy.
I should have none better the moment I parked my car in their parking garage that it wasn't going to be a good place to rest my head. The parking garage had chunks of paint peeling off and dropping all around the lot.
Walking in the hallway to my room the lighting was dim. The carpet was dark and dingy looking. There was a weird smell in the hallway like old paint and RAID. The doors to the room looked like they had been recently spray painted with black spray paint.
The ceiling in my room had some questionable stains. I did all I could not to really pry any further as I only needed to stay one night and had no choice but to stay here. I made quick glances around and did my best not to focus. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great conference room. Staff kept the refreshments fresh and the lunch they provided was delicious! The men's room could have used more handsoap though.
Many newly renovated rooms, very accommodating staff, fair prices, and pet friendly! Parking is free with many covered spots for those wintry overnights. Complementary coffee is actually very good and always fresh. Free WiFi has a strong signal throughout the hotel. I wish there was a continental breakfast, but Mad Mex is off the atrium and their prices are reasonable. Within a 5 minute walk of dozens of hot spots, restaurants, and campus.
If your lucky, you'll get to see the Oscar Mayer Wiener mobile AND the Planter's "Mr. Peanut" mobile parked side-by-side in the lot behind the hotel
Good hotel that offers many services. Optimal position to reach downtown, but out of the crowd. The only flaw: room without windows
Way over priced hotel. You can find much better hotels for a much better price. Can not understand what makes this hotel so great that they can charge so much. I decided to check prices on other days. During the week it is only $93. On a not so busy weekend it was $139. If it is a busy weekend that price more then doubles to $206. Talk about price gouging. I understand a price increase for a busy weekend but that is a bit too much. You better be a 5 star hotel for that much. Go to a cheaper hotel and make it worth your money.
To add to the comment below that you are in line with the other hotels, you are not. We have stayed in State College many times before and only paid half what we paid here at much better hotels. You might want to recheck the pricing of other hotels.
PROS: The hotel staff has been amazing on both of our stays here. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel pool is amazing. The atrium is beautiful. And its pet friendly for an extra $10 a night.
CONS: It's the pandemic right now so they're handing out grab bags for breakfast which are not what my family would consider breakfast. The rooms are a little tight. But hey were a family of 5. There's no microwave in the room either.
All in all it's a nice, clean hotel and a good price.
Great place. This hotel is located in the city centre, very close to everywhere. Room was big and clean. But the coffeemaker needs to be clean. Bed was comfortable. The newspaper delivered to the room every morning. Friendly and helpful staff. I recommended this hotel. Great choice.
Very close to everything in downtown State College. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable.
Great location, accessible to all bars and restaurant
Convenient location, short walk to Penn State campus. Room is small, dated. No free breakfast.
My parents stayed here during graduation. Was very good for the price.
Nice room and decent hotel, but the additional guests who travel through to avoid the cold are drunk and annoying at times. Our hotel neighbors were drunk, loud, and going between rooms in our hallway until 4am. I'd love a second chance to have a good stay, but unsure.
Facilities are clean. Front desk personnel were friendly. The beds was comfortable and large. A very short walk to downtown State College and the Penn State campus.
Very nice place.... Wide open interior and nice water fall with tables nearby to sit and relax. Was there for a short online school function.
Service was great. Adjacent restrauant was wonderful and great food. The hotel lobby was absolutely great. Hotel staff was pleasurable and accommodating.
Good service, good rooms, good location, good parking. Main lobby is exceptionally decorated.
Great experience! Bed was very comfortable. This is not like the Days Inn I'm acquainted with from years ago. This one is much more upscale.
Great location. Helpful staff. Included parking a plus
Used the location as a meeting spot. Very interesting interior lobby layout, however getting to the rooms isn't always straightforward. Overall excellent, very pleasant staff.
Great customer service. Rooms are definitely dated and a bit stale.
It's a very clean and cozy hotel. The employees are very courteous, and the location can't be beat.
Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Nice place to stay close walk to all downtown activities
Fantastic place to stay, located close to downtown! Great staff helped with all of our needs.
Roxanne was amazing. She went above and beyond to help me out.
Better than most Days Inn the power went out but that wasn't their fault really windy day
Very nice hotel. I gave it a 4/5 because it was evident that there was some wear and tear in the room. All the employees I interacted with were very nice!!
Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location, and reasonable price.
The rooms were a bit dated but the location is convenient - within walking distance of anything downtown.
Nice rooms at a great location in the downtown area
Too noisy. Slamming doors, students knocking on hotel room doors, running through halls, yelling and screaming until 3:30 am with no one from hotel taking care of the problem.
Great accommodations downtown and for a great price. Mad Mex is right downstairs and easy access to everything to want to get to.
The lobby was nice, and the location is pretty good -- downtown and in walking distance of many stores and restaurants. The rooms were clean, but nothing particularly special. I did not check out the amenities at all. On site parking was convenient as well. My only complaint would be that one of the elevators smelled like urine; most likely a victim of undergraduate life.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, much as expected. A/C a bit noisy but other than that would stay again.
Had a wedding reception there and they treated us great. Thank you!
Great place. Well kept. Right downtown in State College. Would recommend.
Wedding was there and they didn t meet check in time because we weren t a part of the wedding
It was a pleasant stay. The pool water was a bit cooler than expected for an indoor pool.
Favorite hotel to stay at in State College. Room is always cleaned and walls aren't paper thin. They do allow pets for an extra fee. It's in downtown so it's pretty close to a lot of the bars.
Very easy access to downtown. Clean hotel. Nice stay.
I like the hotel it self but I m upset the fact there is a coffee maker in the room but no bottled water and when I went to go ask for water they charged me $1 for it. What is this motel 6 that is suppose to b cheap and no water but I m paying a good amount of money for a week to Stay here and have to pay for the water never had to pay for water in any hotel I stayed at before but idk very disappointed
I've never stayed at the Day's inn, I go there for the restaurant (Mad Mex). They have amazing chicken wings and pretty good margaritas.
Superb service from top to bottom! The earlier one star review was nothing more than my clumsy fingers mistakenly submitting the wrong information. I would recommend this property to anyone and everyone!!
Decent hotel that worked for a quick one-night stay. I would stay here again if they stay at their current price point relative to other hotels.
Pros:
- Convenient location downtown (only a few minutes walk to campus)
- Free parking
- Reasonable price relative to other downtown hotels
- Friendly staff
Cons:
- No breakfast provided (attached to Mad Mex, which isn't a great idea for breakfast)
- Very thin walls. I could clearly hear conversations going on in adjacent rooms.
- I could not get the Wi-Fi to work on either my phone or laptop. Normally, I'd say this was user error, but others experienced the same thing.
Best hotel in State College. Closest to the important parts of town (better than being down by Atherton and College) good bottle shop attached, and Mad Mex is a great restaurant for a hotel.
Attended for a Job Fair in a recruiter capacity. Service was excellent and building was kept very clean. Overall I was impressed and I would return.
The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is friendly. AC in the room was somewhat noisy but worked well.
Quiet hotel. Parking garage type set up for parking. So pretty on the inside! Pool is great, but floor is soft. Water was colder than air temperatures, which I wasn't anticipating. But you got used to it. We ordered room service at Mexican restaurant that connects to hotel. It was AMAZING and prices were extremely reasonable. Yum!
Awesome place. The night manager, Diandra, was amazing and super friendly.
Nice accommodations. Clean rooms, great location in walking distance to all restaurants and bars in town. Nice that they can allow pets for those who need it.
Had everything a hotel should have. Catering for our event was also very good.
Low price, but low quality, especially in west rooms
Folks were very nice, lodgings were also pretty nice. Definitely a good place for an overnight stay. The surrounding town/college is kind of a mess, but that's not the fault of the hotel.
It's an average hotel with average hotel amenities.
Extra unauthorized charges without any notice like late check in, ordering additional meals, and crazy service charge
