This is an awesome theatre in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario
Small, welcoming and pleasant, with excellent refreshment options and comfortable seating.
A beautiful theatre, in a beautiful town. High level productions of Shaw & contemporaries.
Wonderful talent at a small renown town theater! Saw Brigadoon and enjoyed the beautiful sets as well as the talented singing and acting. At intermission, you can purchase delicious desserts and drinks. There is limited paid parking in the lot beside the theater and some paid parking along the road.
The theater the theater. Oh how I love the theater!
I've been a member for 8 years and see every single play. Love it!
A gem of Ontario. Superb theater, restaurants, stores and lodging. Attend a play and you will see why.
Always an amazing playbill - something for everyone!
Greatest place ever, liked it so much we became members
Great selection of high quality shows in stunning theatres! Located in the beautiful and charming downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake!
Shaw Theatre is centrally located right on Queen Street with all of the wonderful shops and restaurants to take in while you're there. Very close to the lake and conveniently located right in the centre of town. The seats were perfect, prices extremely reasonable and an awesome play. I highly recommend it.
Awesome experience! The play was amazing, definitely recommend for all ages!
Niagara on the Lake love going there. We saw Grand Hotel it was amazing.
You have to see the shows here. This year Rope and Brigadoon are hits
The actors were amazing. Loved everything about this performance. Tophotch performance
Went to see the Magicians Nephew and it was fantastic. Easy to get in and out of the theatre. Tons of free parking on the streets. Even if you have to walk its NOTL, its meant for walking!!!
They are now doing the Horse amd His Boy at Shaw...thank you thank you Shaw director...i love C S Lewis!!!
Lovely theatre, wheelchair accessible, very clean, nice gift shop.
The play was amazing. The food was lovely but the greater was not. She looked down on me and asked if i was runing late for my shift. Really? Thats how you treat you're guests? It made the whole night go down hill for the two of us. Othere then that we had a good time.
Production was good. Theatre in general is a great place to go.
Performance was great, facilities appear to be first rate Parking fee probably pays for the snow removal and grounds keeping contract. $15 for performance. Almost as expensive as hospital parking. Also staff are somewhat less than helpful with storage of mobility aids. My wife uses a walker, were not directed ad to where to store it for the performance. We stashed it behind the last row of seats. After the performance, there it was, gone.
The staff had collected all devices and corralled them in the side of the lobby. It was then a free for all to (a) find the place where they had been taken and (b) finding ours. Oh, and no help from staff at this point.
Annual trip to Shaw Festival Theatre and saw Brigadoon. Outstanding performance. Actors/actresses top notch with singing and dancing. Orchestra...Great!!! Shaw Festival does not disappoint. Worth the trip.
It is always a great time. It feels like an experience rather than just going to a show.
We saw Dracula - great show. Theatre is decent as even the cheapest seats allow you to see everything easily. The biggest problem was the seats are a little uncomfortable. Overall it is a good place to catch a show.
Have been going to Shaw for 31 years in a row and it only seems to get better.
Excellent theater space. Current play, The Orchard, after Chekhov, is first rate.
Handicapped parking is not close or easy access due to stairs.
Theatre is limited access due to stairs and only seating available at the back near the doors.
Good acoustics and fields of view.
Facility refreshments limited and expensive
Very comfortable seats for a theatre, and excellent production quality! No spot offers a particularly bad view of the stage, and the gardens are a lovely spot to sit during intermission.
Great place to see a play. Nice gift shop and an ok selection of beer, wine, and liquor that can be pre-ordered for intermission.
Excellent experience and well run by knowledgeable people who still know what service is about.
Been going for a few years. Top notch performances, costumes, settings, limited only by the size of the venues. Makes a wonderful evening out in NOTL - dinner, shopping, play. Very friendly telephone booking agent too.
Watched one man show Mythos-heros with Stephen Fry. Wonderful
Wow, what a great theater and what a great town/village next to it. We saw Brigadoon and was blown away by the performance.
Comfortable seats with legroom. Stairs are a little steep for anyone that is elderly. Great views of the stage even from the sides. $15 to park the car when you've already paid for a play ticket is a bit much - I think $10 would be more reasonable
Mostly wonderful plays (liked 3 of 4 we attended). But mostly wonderful that such an institution exists and is going strong
Upscale and pleasant - very much in keeping with NOTL's atmosphere as a whole. Parking and drink rates are a bit expensive but one would assume you are going for the live theater so at least you know what to expect.
This place is awesome. Loved the theatre, the gardens and the play - Brigadoon!
The Grand Hotel was very enjoyable. Fabulous acting costumes set design voices dancing. The works.
This is by far one of the most quaint theatre's I've ever been to. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house - not a word of a lie. Can't recommend this highly enough.
Saw second part of Mythos with Stephen Fry and we really enjoyed it
First time experiencing the Shaw Festival Theatre was an absolute delight!
This is what theatre is all about. A powerful moving play in a beautiful place
Great shows and unique settings. Don't go with the traditional choose something new and local. You won't regret it.
The experience will depend on the play! We saw Stephen Fry's Mythos trilogy and loved it!
Even the balcony was manage able that the sound was clear and loud and if it wasn't they gave you assistance to hear it better . My kids and I were truly delighted
This is a fabulous theatre. There are 2 venues, The Festival Theatre and the Royal George Theatre. The acoustics are great in both, and there are no bad seats. The Company is talented and the productions are high quality!
Exquisite production of "Brigadoon". Well worth the drive.
Great theatre and staff! Washrooms are clean as well.
Great venue, fine performances of a mostly traditional style.
Love the place. Have worked thete on and off sine 1983
Saw hound of the Baskervilles. Really enjoyed the performance and the theatre experience. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Excellent theatre, the balcony is very steep, but still had good views, and you never feel like you're too far away.
Very lovely theater. Staff is wonderful, but they defiantly need more seating in the foyer.
Me and My Girl was one of the very best performances I have seen at The Shaw! Fabulously talented ensemble with wonderful tap dancing, singing and comedy. Costumes outstanding! Loved every minute!
THANK YOU!
Top notch theatre and wonderful performances. Will return. Beautiful town, as well. I was blown away.
Saw Dracula, it was a wonderful play. Sat up on the balcony; felt a little far but I was still able to see the entire stage. The rest of the building is quaint but nice, with a decent food and drink/spirit selection.
Nice theatre - sides seats can sometime be blocked.
Wonderful theatre, great costumes & staging. We have returned 7 seasons in a row. Love the beauty of NOTL.
Just an absolutely wonderful place to see and hear a concert. Obviously dependent on whether you like the artist, but the venue is just smashing. Acoustics are great and it is a beautiful structure. Comfortable and also very well run and organized. I have had many just wonderful experiences at this place. Wish there were more like it. Maybe someday they will branch out into comedy. There might be someone out there who is almost as funny as me, I kind of doubt it...but you never know.
The Hounds of the Baskervilles was one of the best shows I've ever seen at the Shaw Festival.LOVED IT!!!
Comfortable seating with great views from anywhere. Clean, good beverage station, nice outdoor and indoor seating while waiting for a show. Accessible seating available. Great place to see a show.
The Shaw is yet to disappoint. The quality of show, the onsite food options, the surrounding town. This remains a gem in the Niagara region, if not in all of Ontario.
I far prefer seeing a show outside of a sprawling metropolis, and this is the place to go for exactly that experience.
An amazing place to see creativity at its best. The cost for drinks and treats however is a bit excessive. Bathrooms clean and easy to find. The plays were a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
