Everything about the shaw theater is absolutely perfect, exept for the leg room.

We went to see The Ladykillers, it was amazing! Wonderful cast, amazing staging.
I went to this place to watch a play. Magician's Nephew - it was so lovely, how they make those card board and boxes into alive. Awesome choreography, its just perfect
The play we saw was Sex. It was captivating and the small theater made the audience feel almost involved.
Very nice theater, great view from anywhere. Good services, friendly helpful staff.
Nice and small intimate venue to see a show, can't go wrong with any of the seats in this venue. Parking is $15 at the venue, but you can park for free after 6 on the street.
Two most excellent and completely different plays. We enjoy coming up here very much
I've really loved coming out to Niagara on the Lake for this festival both times I've come. The broad selections of plays means there is always something that I'm interested in seeing.
This was probably one of the most memorable show I have ever watched and enjoyed. Now I understand why Shaw Festival is very famous in Canada. It's really one of the show you can compare to the one in Broadway. The theater is clean and they have at least four different theaters with four different shows throughout the entire season. It's easy to reach from Fort George parking lot and there's a cafe inside to complete your experience.
Clean and well moved. On-site parking in front of the Theater ($ 15)
Beautiful theater with more than 800 seats.
First time attending, and was awed by the experience. The stage design for The Ladykillers was gorgeous !
My mother and I took my kids here to see The Magician's Nephew. It was a wonderful experience! The venue is very nice, and the play itself was a very creative and interesting take on the classic novel. The food and drinks on site are really expensive, but I suppose that matches the venue and locale.
I went there to see the finale of The Magician's Nephew. It was a nice place, really cute neighborhood with store front boutiques and a diverse range of restaurants. Event parking can be found at the theatre, noth sides of the street just past the theatre or a few streets down in a larger paid lot (follow the green parking signs). The intermission snacks weren't all that expensive either. But the wine glasses were a bit small
This is certainly an excellent, popular place to experience theatre, especially with tour groups!
Always great performances
Intimate theatre
Must see while in niagara
We love the Shaw Festival and have gone for 4 days each year for the last 5 years. The Festival Theatre is gorgeous and spectacular and a great venue to see the large shows they perform. This is a treat no theatre lover should miss and it's open for almost 6 months.
Absolutely amazing, I have loved every performance I've seen the shaw festival put on ever since I was a little girl. The actors do such a great job and transport me to another place each time! I couldn't ask for more and I thank the shaw festival for extending their season within the past few years and putting on wonderful Christmas plays also. I always look forward to the next one!
First time there and it was a good experience. Dracula was very entertaining.
Excellent venue for plays. Great restaurants and boutiques.
Brigadoon. A delightful musical .. Last time I saw it I was in high school at Downsview C I.
Retail Hawk having dinner ignoring any performance.
We love the Shaw Festival. Everyone who enjoys theater, great food, awesome wineries, comfy accommodations must go there at least twice.
Great theatre, great little town for window shopping
My first time at the Shaw Festival Theatre tonight and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!! Thanks again!
Saw 3 shows. All excellent. Balcony stairs are very steep. Impossible for people with mobility issues.
Great plays lots of eating places beautiful parks great stores
Went to see all three of Mythos Trilogy. The theatre amazed me. New and comfortable. BTW, the show is great. Stories are classical but refreshing.
This theater is beautiful and the shows they put on are of excellent quality. Worth it!
Beautiful theater with no bad seats in the house!! We saw Ladykillers which was very funny, well acted with awesome set design! We live the Shaw Festival!!
The venue itself is wonderful. Staff are friendly and helpful. The stage construction was amazing, and the performance was very good. However, parking is so woefully inadequate as to knock not one, but two stars off. There was no parking available when we went and it took nearly 40 minutes to find alternate parking elsewhere in the town. I wound up missing a chunk of the performance and having to rejoin my party at intermission.
Perfect size for intimate shows such as Stephen Fry's one man show Mythos!!!
We saw an amazing play - The Ladykillers! It's a must see!! The dialogue is brilliant as is the comedic timing of the actors. The actors are excellent and the set is a rotating work of art. Bravo and Kudos to all.
Beautiful facility! The gardens and terraces are incredible, the cafe offers a wide variety of well priced foods. The theatre itself is well pitched so there is no bad seat. It's comfortable and inviting. It's walking distance to downtown NOTL with all its charm. People dress both casually and dressy and it just makes for a wonderfully inviting atmosphere. It feels like a luxury with the comfort of your favourite t-shirt.
Staff are very friendly. And the environment is quite pleasant and relaxing.
I ve seen a play, The Magician s Nephew with few of my friends and it was an amazing experience, there were moments I forgot I was in the theater and I just felt like I was there with them. Their props for this play see all made out of cardboard boxes! It was amazing. The food is a little overpriced, but the actors and the plays are just great!
Great summer theater is a beautiful setting. The plays can be hit and miss but are mostly hits. Have seen Stain Joan which was very well done and 1979 which was not bad. Looking forward to rest of the 2917 season. Also the new outdoor seating is a nice addition. I was however sad to see that the amazing gift shop appears to have been scaled down this year.
In saw Brigadoon on September 1, 2019. I enjoyed it immensely. The cast delivered and excellent performance. The music was great, especially the singing. There were many exciting moments when there was laughter from the audience, and a few sad moments.
Alexis Gordon, who plays Fiona in this musical, delivered a stellar performance both in her singing and acting.
It's definitely worth seeing, and I would again, if it were closer to where I live.
A wonderful theatre experience for anyone looking to experience something different from the modern norm of the movie theatre drama. I've been frequenting the Shaw for a few years now, and no production has disappointed me thus yet.
Well done with simple props and the now standard projected scenery. Seemed true to the C. S. Lewis novel.
Our party of 6 all liked it. Coffee kiosk in lobby had pumpkin amaretto cheesecake to die for. Beautiful grounds around theatre.
Theater at it's best. Shaw is an incredibly witty playwright and his topics are still topical, a hundred years on.
Nice show seating spacing was crowded .
Parking is a problem
Saw Stephen Fry perform Mythos:Gods. Absolutely wonderful. He's a magnificent and captivating storyteller.
Saw Brigadoon, very entertaining and great restaurants in the area
Stephen Fry mesmerizes with one person performance. Seating is tight like aeroplanes. Count on spending some time finding parking or you may just want to pay $15 for close parking.
Watched The Hound of the Baskervilles here. I would highly recommend it . Great facility, amazing technical crews, The show was very much somthing that you should see. Do yourself a favour and go to the Shaw Festival
My first time there & was impressed, seats were very comfortable and every seat was placed to be able to see the stage.
Stephen Fry presented Mythos: Gods with such ease and eloquence. What a great night's storytelling by a master of the craft!
Great experience again. Excellent theater including all three "Mythos" productions with Stephen Fry. Originally planned to leave on sat but just had to see the third Mythos on "men" so got one of the last singe seats and stayed an extra night at the best B &B in town, Mike and helen Kings on Nassau st. Where I've been going with friends and family for about 30 years. Had a great lunch at Treadwell restaurant.
Extremely well done . Professional performances. Totally enjoyable.
Great actors, very professional outfit, walking distance from inns, restaurants & shops in downtown Niagra on the Lake. A great addition to a stay in an already perfectly idyllic place. We were able to obtain great seats to Grand Hotel just a couple of days before the show. We were encouraged by the reviews & then heard someone on the street say on how great GH was. So our expectations were high but I'm happy to report we were not disappointed!
Great theater, and fantastic plays to watch. Park over on Patrick Street.
Amazing theater, and lots of places to walk around at intermission
Saw Sweeny Todd here and it was amazing! The acoustics were great and the treats at the cafe were so good. Only complaint was the seating, it's a little close.
A lovely theatre in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. I would have given it five stars but it isn't handicap accessible and there are a lot of stairs to the seating levels. The theatre itself isn't overly large which means there really isn't a bad seat in the house. We went to a matinee called The Ladykillers and the show was a hoot, each member of the small cast was excellent and the characters were well developed. The revolving set was impressively designed and was utilized in clever ways to take you througg the story. There is parking in a lot beside the theatre as well as on street parking but if you're staying nearby in the area it's a pretty walk. Tasty looking desserts and snacks, and beverages of all kinds are sold.
Helpful staff in finding the drop off area for Santas for seniors leaving gifts
You need to check out the new Secret Garden behind the theatre! Recent installation so there will be some time until everything fills in. Opening performances begin May 13th weekend.
Great productions. A bit pricey so we can't always get to see shows but great shows when we can go.
Always a good place to people watch and have a glass or two of wine, before the show. They always seem to have some sort of entertainment happening in the lobby or outside area.
Saw The Grand Hotel... It was well done and educational.
Amazing technical production for Hound of the Baskervilles
I always have an amazing experience while attending.
Other than the obscenely expensive drinks ($10 for a bottle of beer!) a really great facility.
Wonderful workshop and production of The Magician's Nephew.
Me and my girl was underwhelming compared to other musicals.
The Grand Hotel show this year is amazing!! Dancing, singing, costumes, set design and storyline all outstanding!
