I've been hospitalized in an isolation room since November of 2018 and I'm still here. The nurses and doctors have been absolutely amazing. They have made me feel very comfortable and shown compassion and professionalism. The staff has gone above and beyond to show there concern for my well-being and recuperation. The doctors have also shown tremendous professionalism and knowledge of their practice which reasures me that I'm in good hands. Thank you for all you do, it's greatly appreciated.

This is for the labor and delivery department only.

It s very upsetting as a first time mother not to be able to have the name I wanted because this hospital doesn t take names with the accent mark. How ridiculous is that? I didn t even have a backup name, there was only one name I wanted and ended up having it Americanized. Now my daughter gets called by different names and people get upset when I correct the pronunciation. The second upsetting thing where the nurses. Out of the 12 nurses I had only two were attentive and actually came to my room when I called for them. And lastly, get a charge nurse who can handle customer service and satisfaction. When I had spoke to Ann about wanting my nurse changed, she had asked me why so I explained what upset me , and she answered with You didn t need to explain the whole story. Very frustrating and unprofessional.

Our family would like to thank the hospital and its team of doctors and nurses who attended to our mother during her 1.5 months confinement. The competency of the staff and the level of attention and compassionate care given to our mother gave her comfort and allowed her to peacefully go through her final moments with dignity. Thank you Dra. Lozano, Dr. W, Dr. Sacamay, Dra. Del Valle, Ofelia Dunn, RN Cecil Casiple, Juliet Canlas, RN Desiree Fortuna, RN Sonnen Labastillas, Guy Bautista, RN Eugene laudato.

They re not very organized here it seems. Not too bad as in friendliness of nurses but the Doc was in & out of there quick! Paperwork to get husband checked out was over an hour & a half! He s STILL not out yet! People waiting to be seen still & yet they seem like they re taking quite a long time to get patients out...why??!? Smh.

I ve been to the emergency quite a few times and at different hospitals. But yesterday when I went into the ER for gallbladder pain, from the very beginning, was treated with such kindness and respect. They did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. Especially Nurse Maddie. I had an Ultrasound and lab work. In the end, I had to have it removed; later that same night, had a cholecystectomy. Everything was explained to me in detail. They asked if I had any questions/concerns. Once I was in the recovery area, the 2 nurses there were just amazing. One of the nurses ( Girley) and I even had a beautiful talk about my tattoos. What a blessing it was that I had an incredible team all around!

My dad stayed here for several days. The emergency room is quite busy. By the time they checked him in, made him wait forever, and occasionally gave him pain shots, he was exhausted. He was transported there in an ambulance also. Just imagine if you had to drive there and check-in. The surgeon was good, but not very friendly. I had a way better experience in Long Beach St Mary Hospital.

I went in to the ER on two seperate occassions, 2 ...

I went in to the ER on two seperate occassions, 2 days apart from each other in April 2021. I was (and still am) having severe abdominal pain, bloating & tenderness that was not eased with any OTC meds (pepto, gas-x, etc) When I arrived to my bed I was given 2 OTC strength meds that were similar in nature to the ones I had already tried and told them had not worked. after taking these, I writhed in pain in my bed for about 45 minutes before the dr. came to check on me again, I told her the meds hadn't eased my symptoms - she said "Yea, I didn't really expect it to do much :( "

They did bloodwork which came out looking good, gave me a painkiller and sent me home with a prescription for painkillers telling me it was probably a "stomach bug"

2 days later I was unable to withstand the pain so I returned, positive that I was misdiagnosed. I couldn't stand upright and was in tears from the pain. Right away I was told I would have imaging done, I got undressed and into a gown and again was given OTC type meds, writhing in pain until they gave me a painkiller injection. I had Bloodwork, urinalysis & blood glucose tests done. All came back looking good so they NEVER GAVE ME THE IMAGING they promised when I first came in !! The dr. proceeded to tell me she reviewed my utrasound from my last visit (Which never occured) and paired with my lab results everything seemed to be fine so once I again I was sent home. I'm almost certain that the problem lies in my gallbladder or pancreas, according to my symptoms, the duration and the intensity of pain.

I'm currently at home, weighing my options as I now have 2 ER bills to foot (I'm currently uninsured) with no resolution to my pain. I will probably end up visiting a different hospital today as the pain is so intense I can't sit / lay / stand comfortably... I'm very disheartened and feel somewhat helpless, I feel like they didn't listen to me or take me seriously. Its been over a week of living like this now. I feel I was rushed out of the ER without any regard to what I was having to face once I got home. All I want is relief from this unbearable pain & I'm furious that they allowed me to leave that hospital TWICE knowing they did not use every tool available to them to find out what the cause of my excruciating pain is.

I think it's important to mention the systemic nature of healthcare discrimination as it applies to women of color, as a Black woman I feel that my symptoms, my pain and complaints were not taken as seriously as it should've been - my first night I overheard both patients on either side of me get wheeled out for imaging for their respective pain - I'm still at a loss as to why I never got imaging done during the 2 visits I made... I hope nobody has to repeat this experience.

Throughout the last 5 years or so, my father has b...

Throughout the last 5 years or so, my father has been admitted several times per year, recently being diagnosed with cancer that has spread and is at this point un-treatable. First off, I am taken back at the fact that it has gotten to this point, when many times and probably even some of the ailments that caused his admission were overlooked and not linked to the cancer diagnosis.

Furthermore, being in his final stage of life, we had an emergency yesterday that cause him to go into the ER, where we waited 4 hours, just to be seen by the doctor for one minute "literally." He requested nausea meds a good 1.5 hrs. before being released and pain meds right before being released. The nausea meds weren't given until he was being discharged and only because I requested again; that he needed it before traveling home.
The pain meds were not given because he was offered Vicodin , which aggravates his stomach and symptoms of his cancer, so he had to wait to get home for pain management, furthermore; he also requested nausea medication, which was given right before we left, also after waiting a good 1.5 hrs. His blood pressure had also gone up, probably due to pain, before discharge.
To add assault to injury, when he needed to use the restroom, it took the nurse so long to come in, I had to find the urinal container in the drawer to help my father because he was still attached to all the wires, the nurse came in a good 15-20 minutes later.

He was sent home just to have to return today with a scheduled procedure at 8 am through the ER, which we arrived at 7:30 am for safe measure. At 11 am, he still hasn't even gotten into the OR which will cause significant snags in his schedule for the day, such as radiation, which he may not receive today due to the lack of concern, apparently; other critical cases take priority and he is sent to the back of the bus.

I feel almost as if he has become invisible to the system due to (quite possibly being overlooked several times throughout the years). Although, he is at the end stage of existence, my family is doing all the can to not increase his suffering. It would be nice if the healthcare system would also do their part, which in the two events specifically, they have fallen extremely short of that bar.

It is very disappointing with his treatment here and the level of care he has had the last few days. The support system that I would hope helps to elevate loss of hope and frustration has only proven to make it worse....It is a bitter shame and whatever the reasoning behind this madness, eventually we all have to take ownership for our ethics, decisions and moral!

I've had hospital care for several different problems through my life. And from 2 back surgeries and liver disease, the staff at Sharp and the Physicians at Sharp were always on top of things. They really cared for me and I would only go to them in any emergency situation that I may find myself. Thank You Sharp Staff, you guys are the best!

My vehicle was involved in a hit and run, as well as my mother s and when we attempted to speak with the security office, they informed us that they do not have cameras that work in the lot by the valet stand, but when we spoke with the valet attendants they stated that it was pointless to try and talk to them because they personally see cars get hit all the time and security turns a blind eye to avoid paperwork.

The lack of empathy that was provided from the nursing staff while my grandparents were in their way to their final resting place, was atrocious. The disrespect, and rudeness was not necessary, and when a family is going through a hard time such as ours, you would expect at least some sympathy from the people that are helping take care of your loved ones. Not here though.

Where do I start. Well first of all I'm fed up with sharp hospital. The security guards are probably the worst there. They have very bad manners and don't know how to treat a person in distress. I came in there with my husband and my service dog and they tried to kick me out. They called the police on me and said I had to leave. Because of my dog. (SERVICE DOG). I couldn't believe it. They didn't help my husband what so ever and had horrible bed side manners. What a horrible experience..

I would give this place zero stars if I could. If you have covid, don t come here. My dad has TROUBLE BREATHING due to covid-19. Came to the ER, he waited for 5 hrs to be told he doesn t need medication nor do they give oxygen tanks, according to the doctor his body will heal on its own. Unbelievable. He can t breath yet this so called healthcare provider wants people to be dying to be considered worth treating. I guess all that covid money is more important than preventing people from getting worse.

OMG! So I finally get to put solid food I to my system after 48 hours of liquid diet. I am given moldy strawberries with a bite size sandwich. Start throwing up all over again. So tired and hungry after being in the hospital. Just wanted to eat and sleep. Sucks can't even get safe food from the ER.

Most of The people that give it a great rating. Are probably employees of sharp writing good reviews. I've had 4 bad experiences there. The DR are the worst jerks ever. They tell you that you are ok nothing wrong. But than they say if you feel worse comeback. Funny than you go back and they say the same response make sure you get your blood work sheet there when they are gonna discharge you .so you. Can see all the lies they write down in the notes. Make sure to get names of doc so you can have A solid case on them if you and your symptoms were ignored and not taken seriously. All they want is insurance money..that is why they discharge everyone So fast.. They don't care!!! Mexico DR clinics are more knowledgeable than these take doctors at sharp....

If I could put no stars I would. Tuesday I went in for severe ear pain at another hospital they diagnosed me with an ear infection prescribed me pan medicine and a antibiotic. Well today I had severe pressure in my right ear and and lost all hearing so I went in to sharps Chula Vista because it is by my house. I have horrible pain told them my pain is a 7 they did nothing for me. I waited in there for like 3 1/2 hours for the doctor to see me (which that whole
Time waiting my nurse came in once) I saw the doctor he didn't even really check me out he told me owe it might be wax didn't help with pain control didn't help me with what is causing my hearing to be out just said it could be wax told me to follow up with my doctor. I told him I have an appointment it's not until the 31st of July though. This is the worst hospital didn't help me and yet I am hear at home again with horrible pain! I'm never coming to this hospital again!

Just delivered my baby a few weeks ago room was dirty lot of dust all over the room along with a old bandaid with blood stain on floor Too bad can t give a negative 10 star review few weeks after my cesarean I had to unfortunately go back because that s where I delivered , went back because I was having lots of pain and heavy bleeding spent over 8 hours without eating or drinking when asked for water or a snack the nurse just laughed and started making some weird sounds as if she was making fun of me definitely won t be coming back at all

The critical care physician that was attending to my mother who was fighting for her life, asked my younger sister to get the family members to sharp chula vista so he could talk to us in person. On 03/16/2020 around 10:30pm when I was heading to the old entrance of the hospital, I was told to go to the emergency room. The security guards told me to go to the new tower entrance. I got in my car and parked in front of the new tower. I went inside to meet the rest of the family. Some lady told me to follow her. My nephew just walked in, the lady took us to the old lobby only to be surrounded by 10 to 15 security guards. After 15 min of no help, I decided to go back outside, the same way I came in. I stepped to my left to go in between 2 of the security guards. They both stepped in front of me, the last thing I remember I was on the ground with a bunch of security guards on top of me and the worse shoulder and arm pain and leg pain. I could barely move. They did not let me go to the emergency room, they told me to get off the property. MY HEALTHCARE IS SHARP HEALTH! I went straight to Scripps emergency chula vista from sharp hospital chula vista. Security guards broke my shoulder in 3 places and had a pulled growing. I never got to see my mom! She died.

I normally don't do reviews but I thought I should share my opinion of my visit today. The staff was very nice and helpful, they seemed as though they cared about you as a patient. Maybe that was just my perception but I would like to think that they did. I left feeling way better than I did going in and I think that counts for something.

The worst emergency room ever. We're all here for something but this place is super loud. I thought I was going to get out feeling better but it was worst. I was here because I have more than 2 weeks with headache and dizziness, I take pain relief pills and yes it goes away for several hours, and then comes back. The doctor only offered me headache pain relief, and told me to make an appointment with my doctor. This place should have Doctors with more years of experience, especially at the emergency room. Then I went to another hospital and I was hospitalized for days

Wife came in an ambulance after fainting and hitting her head and they kept her in the waiting room for 4 hours the charge nurse was extremely rude and didn't seem to care even after she fainted a few more times in the waiting room they didn't even check her to see if she had a concussion or anything. The only thing that was nice the security guard was very helpful keeping an eye on us keeping us updated

Goodnight! Today I had a Kidney procedure and for the second time, after an extirpation they made me a Kidney sclerosis and they forgot to anesthetize me, how can it be possible that an institution like Sharp lacks Professionalism?
I will look for the way of a formal complaint.

This review is for the emergency room. The nurse that helped me was awesome. I wish i could have remembered her name. She deserves a shoutout ! I was in a lot of pain and she took the time to give me medicine which made me feel better! She took time to answer all my questions throughly and with alot of patience. I went to the emergency room because I was in a lot of pain I had to miss work and school. I came to this place for answers. However I do not appreciate leaving with more questions than answers. The doctor that helped me did not spend more than five minutes with me did not do enough to address my concerns and simply told me i need more tests to be done and sent me on my way

0 stars. If you are ready to be treated like an ob...

0 stars. If you are ready to be treated like an object or a number, by all means come on by. I have been talked down to, patronized, told that I was not cooperating when I was screaming in pain. They do not care or they are understaffed. I was looked down upon at the hospital because I wanted a 2nd opinion before surgery. I have never felt like so much of a burden in a hospital as an inpatient. I had explained this was my 5th hospital I've been at as an in patient within the last month. No empathy at all. Only 3 nurses were kind enough to ask me if I was okay. I wasnt. I was depressed out of my mind and felt worthless in that hospital, they made me feel lt would be a great thing if i didnt wake up from my surgery. In my room I can't even call for help because theyre attitude made me feel I wasnt worth thier time. Most if the time, nurses are speaking different langauges. Which I dont mind on free time or any other time as a matter of fact but if I am around and you are meaning to discuss my medical information, I would like to know whats going on in my own body. If you have a option, get out of this hospital. If you can not, just be prepared. Best of Luck.

The family of Jean B. offers deep gratitude to Dr. C. Girgis for his compassion and expertise during our mother s hospital stay 2/29-3/04. He is a true professional and treated our mom as if she were his own. It was a stressful time and Dr. Girgis did everything possible to alleviate that for patient and family. THANKS SO MUCH!

No to Cardiology. I brought my mother in law here ...

No to Cardiology. I brought my mother in law here because she asked me to come in from Orange County to help her. I m an RN educator for Cardiology CCU at a Magnet hospital in Orange County. I m stating this because what I m going to say should have some credibility. First, this is based on 4 different hospital experiences for several Cardiac tests. 1) morale is low, from what I see and hear from speaking to several staff, and it shows. 2) from my eyes as an educator, does not seem like there is much pride or at the least, accountability for cardiac patients 3) who do I speak to? Example, I asked for supervisor, and these are the three answers I got - we report to our lead, not sure who s in charge today , another day another cardiac staff member, we don t have a manager, but I can find out who you can call , this response was ok, because an effort was made to give me information I requested, but then soon after, this was follow-up, we can leave a message for OR manager , answer uh, not sure but ask for OR manager, that s who our boss is , huh? I m still confused. I give up. After this Rant , someone from customer service will respond to this with some, apology, I get it. But your not going to change this final point, 4) Cardiologist are rude, very rude, poor bedside mannerisms. Bottom line - i convinced my husband to transfer his mother to our home, I am in the process of bringing my mother in law to Orange County to continue her Cardiac care. Message to Sharp Chula Vista, you might say your a Magnet hospital, but it does not reflect on the service end of your cardiac department.

My first day they didn't let me eat until 6pm when I been in the ER since 7am in the morning. I'm pregnant and diabetic. I been telling the nurses in the ER that I was hungry, but they said I had to wait for the doctor. I didn't hear from the doctor all day. I'm here the second day and was told that I can't be discharged from Dr Wang. This is a annoying doctor... I would never recommend him and I don't want to give birth here no more. This is the worst experience. I was told I would be released in 24 hrs from my primary doctor. I had a note explaining I was suppose to be released the next day and this place is so loud. I'm never coming back here. Why would you let a patient starve when they're pregnant.

Horrible staff, especially in the ER, I had to show them proof I was a lawyer and threaden to sue in order to receive better care. If you want your love one to die from malpractice, send them here! Zero coordination and zero hospitality from nurses. Nurses there seem to forget what they re there for and what their place is. WE PAY YOU!!

Very unprofessional and ridiculous. It s Christmas and there are NO doctors and nurses have NO information as to when the doctors will be in. I understand they have families and want to celebrate, but so does everyone else. Understaffed and completely chaotic. Also, the lady at the front desk when I called was RUDE and had an attitude. Please, fix these problems! Nobody should have to wait around on the holidays just because it s understaffed!

I was just trying to get an appointment for my sick kid, couldn't understand a word this lady was saying, I asked what she said and she just continued to laugh in the backgound, then hung up on me. Extremely disrespectful.

Excellent facilities, the best service, a specialized and very professional treatment.

I have had the opportunity to participate in the Las Honorables Damas de San Diego health days and I really congratulate all the people who get involved to generate a culture of health and prevention.

The hospital is very clean, well decorated, reliable and above all very welcoming.

I recommend it

I went to the emergency room to be treated for a severe pain in my belly. It took them a long time to get me into a room. I had high pressure and the doctor did not care, he only gave me pain medicine and I went home. Again I had to go the next day so that another doctor would not give it importance again. The nurse was the one who helped me and
He realized that he had liquid retention. Even so, he did not give importance to high pressure.

I had heart stints put in in the past 3 months it was very positive dealing with Dr. Rough. I was in the Cath Lab and said to Dr. Rough when is he going to get started. His crew chuckled when he said "He was already done" The whole hospital staff is very professional. I feel very confident in putting my health in their hands.

Did not like how my grandmother was treated it took them 45 minutes to clean her up when she peed or pooped not cool and they never gave her a bath i went down there and did it they treat big patience differently then smaller ones everyone needs to be treated equally not differnt also they need to start talking with them and just pushing them around

Stunned. My dear friend was transported by ambulance dying from pneumonia. She was hallucinating and fighting everything but the ER side from Head Nurse and Drs to cleaning crews and everyone in between were compassionate. Kind caring accommodating. Can not say enough. I have never seen a hospital like this. I would definitely go back if I ever needed treatment. People like his are amazing humans.

Not enough beds for everyone. They would rather send you home with pain killers instead of running test on you... Sad.. for an urgent care center i would suppose it means you require quick attention..been waiting for about three (3) hours with consant pain..still waiting.

Sharp Chula Vista has became one of the worst hospitals to go to. I was waiting for 12 hours then waited another 3 hours in the back just so they can send me home. Then they called me back so I could be seen again and there goes 13 more hours. Nurses have very bad bedside manners. 1 out of 10 Nurses cared if you are in pain. The others act like they are there just for the pay check. Next Time I will be going to scripps ..

The entire team of this hospital are very professional from the people who meet behind counters, vetanillas, emergency and maternity team, nurses, doctors. All of them gave us good service. They were very professional people with a lot of tact and understanding. My baby was born here 2 weeks ago and was a little complicated by caesarean section, and despite that the days we were in the hospital were always watching my baby and my care. Congratulations to all these people who exercise their careers with dedication and professionalism. God bless you and keep giving you strength. Thank you for all your quality time.

My fiancee had a bad stomach pain and we don't know what was causing it. He would vomit and sweat like crazy. The doctors and nurses was rude and they didn't give him any pain medications at all. We stayed for 6-8hrs then they just kick us out without giving him anything. Worst hospital ever!! I might not deliver my baby here too when I'm due in Nov 2014.

I've had nothing but good experiences. I've had all my kids at this hospital and will be having my last one here as well in July. Love it and recommend it to everyone I know. Love the nurses and staff. Great customer service!

Dr. Koyashabi
He is an amazing doctor.
Quick and very caring.
I couldn t find a better doctor!

This hospital has to have one of the highest ratings and outstanding, professional staff. No matter how many times I've been here, I have always received a 5 star treatment and service. I've came to this hospital for everything except when I couldn't deliver my daughter there due to military insurance reasons. I know there are some staff members who may come off moody but knowing how a hospital is ran (24/7) around the clock and how the lack of rest is very common for them, I still find their serivce and patience outstanding (to the best of their abilities).

My husband has a stage 4 cancer, went to emergency hospital, first time we came in this month with my husband having a stomach pain., it was great. The following week we came in again through emegency hospital, the first thing this lady Michelle S. was to asked me in a condescending attitude, she wants 350 dollars copay while my husband was having a real pain on his lower abdomen. Didn't even try first to make my husband confortable and take care of him. We have insurance a blue cross ppo. This woman was rude and unkind! The ER doctor was out of touch, he didnt much knowledge what he was doing. All he could tell to my husband "dude, im not sure what wrong with you" cool , "weird and not sure why is your balls having pain" i felt that this Saturday crew group on ER wasn't that much very attentive to my husband needs. And top of that i have to deal with this woman Michelle S with her rudeness. And talking behind my back to another nurse.its not like I am asking a free medical hand outs. We were treated unfairly.

The worst hospital I have EVER been to. (And I have been to about 7 as a patient.) They routinely ignore patient wishes, despite the law requiring them not to, and the doctors routinely "examine" and "visit" you via computer. Additionally, so many doctors get involved and "oversee" each case that they routinely make differing and opposing decisions midstream (doctors from the same practice - this happened to me with 4 doctors). This causes the doctor orders to be haulted and changed midstream after communicating the change to the patient. I spent 12 nights there and when I left they were still confused about part of the orders given. Go to a more reliable and professional hospital where patient wishes and directives are paramount; ' part of the care (despite personnel opposition to their wishes), and emotional and mental wishes are just as important and are respected.

I also experienced the lack of decent food at this Hospital. They keep you waiting for 4 hours in an overcrowded waiting room; and then you starve to death trying to eat their lousy food@

My grandma was ill. She went to Sharp Chula Vista and they told her she didn't have anything and that she should go see her doctor. Yet she decided to go that same day to Sharp Coronado and they quickly took her in and she was hospitalized for 3 days!
