Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Golden Sands Resort Review

Beautiful resort. Fantastic service. Attentive staff. Feringgi Grill serves wonderful food esp their roast beef.

Very old hotel, needs refurbishment in due course. However customer service is great and they are very accommodating.

We had a short trip. The hotel is super old but super well maintained. Food is okay, beach is okay. Good getaway for our small family..

Nice pool although quite packed at is was school holidays. Plus points were the kids club that gave us parents a few hours of rest.

Nice resort and grounds. You are also able to use the facilities of Shangri-La Golden Sands next door. Golden Sands has a good children facility.

You can get a golf cart ride between the two resorts if you're lazy to walk.

Amazing! 10 stars out of 5: spacious comfy room, attentive staff and treats all day long. Food was superb and very well priced, no need to go out to dine. Breakfast also very good, plenty of European and Asian options. Stay at Rasa Wing if possible as you will be treated to afternoon tea and pre-dinner canapes every day, which are very good! Very happy!

How often have u been on a holiday and then end up been disappointed for some reason or another.

We'll it's a welcome change from that for me and my family. As we enjoy our stay here.

Staff are very polite and quick to serve your every need.

We just finished breakfast and it was by far the best hotel breakfast we've ever had. The choices were many with Asian, Mid Eastern, Indian and western foods to choose from.

The good thing is that we are here for a few more days and will therefore have the opportunity to try most if not all the food choices available.

It's a beautiful and quite resort in which you could enjoy a very relaxing holiday. Filled with beautiful trees and plants that make it a nice change from the city environment in which we live.

Nice place.. Good service and complete facilities.. You can easy to go anywhere.. You need 1 hour from airport to reach the hotel.

Superb concierge and management personnel. Room is very spacious and comfortable. Privacy and security is most highlighted at Rasa Wing. Good amenities all around. Rasa Wing is highly recommended if you opt for a relaxing get-away.

For the price rooms should receive regular maintenance

Great area where you can hear nothing from the hustle and bustle outside. Very clean and courteous staff. Just to feel good. The equipment in the fitness center are in great shape. Beautiful public beach area in which hardly anyone bathes.

This Resort is AMAZING. The food is not that good but the cleanliness is top notch. When you are inside of the resort its so calm and peaceful but as soon as you go outside its like a warzone. The streets here in Penang is just so busy. Overall i would recomend this place.

The room was very comfortable and quiet, and I slept very well. The breakfast at the hotel was very good and the taste was good. I will stay next time.

Extremely friendly restaurant, staff members are always cheerful and friendly and serve with a smile. Nothing seems to faze them. Staying in the Rasa wing, we were treated to excellent buffet or a la carte breakfasts, high tea, free cocktails and canapes with live piano music, free hot and cold drinks throughout the day and use of the facilities, including two fantastic pools, gymnasium, etc. Would thoroughly recommend.

Buffet dinner have many selections but taste wise is not as good as Pasar Malam. Probably they are not so expert in certain dishes.

So it's after MCO and Rasa Sayang Shangri-La, Penangwas having offer on their rooms., almost 50% discount. So I decided to bring my wife on a short get away in Penang. But the experience left much to be desired. The process of checking in was horrible. The staffs were never at the counter, they were running in and out of the office like headless chicken and we waited in line for more than an hour. This is not what I expect from a luxury hotel group. Same thing happened during breakfast time. I know it's just after the MCO but I would expect Shangri-La to be well prepared before re-opening. The room itself wasn't very special, mediocre at best. It was clean but not very well equipped. The staffs were friendly though. All in all, the experience was not good.

The beach at the seaside is white, the grass is open and quiet, and the service is friendly.

I stayed here with my daughter in October 2018. We had a fantastic time, the hotel is lovely and the staff were very thoughtful and polished. The pool is beautiful.

My daughter's birthday fell on our last day and the hotel left a delicious cake in our room for her.

Food at spice garden is bad. Price is too expensive as well. Not value for money.

It's one of those places you can truly relax without any city's pressure. Just a place with all sorts of facilities for your convenience, such as choices of food/restaurants, spa, gymnasium, swimming pools, even a mini golf course, etc. all in house! Naturally all those come with a smile. Home sick? Forget it! You would love to stay.

Rooms are clean and the usual shangri la standards. Pillow are abit too flat, 2 pillow abit too high.

Good place for corporate parties. Comfortable rooms, luxury amenities like pool, sauna, spa, atc. good access to the beach. Amazing breakfast buffet.
