nice and polite staffs at the front desk. and at function room. rooms were cosy and nice. nice food as well

Very limited car park.
Soundproofing for the rooms can be improved. We can hear toilets being flushed and people talking at the corridor. I spent 10 - 15 mins at the check in counter, hence, check in speed needs to be improved.

Rooms are clean. Great bed and pillows. Great shower. Breakfast spread is acceptable considering RMCO.

Excellent and neat SOP implementation. All contacted hotel personnel are well manner, well trained and with passion to assist. Good ambient, nice trendy reno and color.

Love the environment here. Impress by hospitality service by front desk with good smile. Unlike F&B, it is hardly to see smile on service and kitchen staff during breakfast operation. I requested scramble egg, but turns up into an omelette for me.

The bed was soft and comfortable and the rooms were very cosy. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I loved how they provided bathrobes and bedroom slippers that were very comfortable.

IT IS A GOOD STAY. HOWEVER WE DON'T HAVE A SPECIAL CHECK IN COUNTER FOR GC MEMBER.

most convenient location and cozy. is easy and affordable to travel in Grab. people are friendly there. next to Komtar mall which is quick access to spend a whole day at the top view as well as all the kids friendly attraction like the dinosaur research centre and others

We stayed at the hotel on 10 - 12 May. We arrived a few hours before the check in time (3pm) and we were really glad that we were able to check-in immediately upon our arrival. In addition, the housekeeping team attended promptly to my request for the foam pillow and bottled water. I would like to thank the conceirce team for their great assistance esp when I encountered problem with my luggage lock. We would also like to thank them for sharing the places of interest and eateries around the hotel. Awesome service from the hotel! Thank your everyone for making our stay awesome!

Room no sound proof, can hear clearly noise outside doorway

Being helpful and courtesy in arrangement. Room is clean. If food & wine choices in Club Lounge can be slightly more variety will be glad. Having a well managed gym room and swimming pool.

We stayed over for just one night, but it was such a memorable experience...first of all, the hotel is so easy to find, and its located right in city centre, within good distance to all the famous attraction, especially if you are a food lover like me...even though the festive season is still going on, we managed to try out most of the sought after delicacies that Penang has to offer, and we are fully satisfied!! The room is just of the right size, and we managed to get one with a connecting door to our children's... The breakfast buffet is not too overwhelming, and that made us not feel too guilty about trying out all the succulent dishes!! And the staffs were all very friendly and helpful...

I am very glad to stay in this hotel and the whole stay is very comfortable. However, one thing is very troublesome. I have a bill of RM700 which should be returned to me, but the amount has not been received.

no corperation within reception and cleaning dept . no news paper from hotel lobby . when problem come no one try to solve .

Poor room which was very noisy as I was close to the lifts

I am stayed in Club Double Room which I think the hotel upgraded me to One Bed Room Apartment which I felt delightful with the arrangement. The Club lounge service is awesome. Will book again in my next stay. Hope will get another surprise during my next stay on 9 Oct 2019

We went to Jen Cafe for lunch. A friend ordered seafood pasta and received tuna pasta. A couple mins later the food server brought a plate of seafood chunks saying they forgot to put it in. Minor hiccup. However, your Nasi Goreng and Batter fish & chips is hands down awesome! Amazing flavours and worth-every-penny portion! Thank you for the love and service!

The toilet is clean with sufficient toiletries. The shower pressure is a bit low.

Very clean, housekeeping very efficient, food is of good standard, all the staff are very courteous and friendly. Excellent location. Wifi needs to be stronger and more stable; more tv channels too since wifi is not stable.

Parking was a bit of an issue however I do understand the circumstances as it is currently under renovation. The rooms are beautiful and location is perfect for a city getaway. You can easily walk to the heritage zone or even the mall next door .

Overall a nice stay again in Jen hotel. The friendly counter staff made me felt at home.

This hotel is good, comfortable to stay, bed and pillow is good quality. Breakfast has a lot of different food. I will back again

The retractable clothing line above the bathtub is defective, it should be replaced before guest check in . Daily refill of pen and paper should be done without request.

The staff was very efficient and polite. I called in from my room asking them to lower the music volume as I needed some rest, they switched off immediately. The hotel was clean. The location was great which was next to bus interchange and 1st ave mall. The wifi was strong at lobby which I could get grab car easily. Breakfast was good with cappuccino. Highly recommended.

Top Notch in Georgetown

My stay had been mostly great and nearly perfect. I love everything about my room. The interior feels modern and up to date.

Foods were also of high quality - truly delicious and reflect the image of Penang as a food haven. The dinner I had was sumptuous and the breakfast I had was scrumptious. The nasi lemak, dear Lord, is the best I have ever had at a hotel.

This hotel is also very generous with its lobby seatings.
Quite a number of chairs and sofas are provided at the lobby unlike most upscale hotels in Malaysia where they make people stand while waiting for their partner/family member check in at the front desk.

My stay would ve otherwise be 100% perfect if not for the arrival process. During check in, there was no introduction about the hotel and its facilities. The lady who handled my check in did not bother to sell the hotel and its facilities to me. Not even a word about amenities provided by the hotel. Based on my experience, front desk personnels do sell their hotel during check in process. If a guest was a regular, they would still reiterate about the facilities and amenities available at the hotel to this guest.

There was also no reaffirmation on the benefits/perks included in the room package selected by me, such as breakfast and late check out.

Besides that, I was not told about the breakfast hours. Here the breakfast ends at 10am, while at some other hotels I have stayed at, breakfast ends at 10.30 or even 11 am. As I was enjoying my breakfast, I saw some guests entering the restaurant for breakfast at 9.40am. I heard they said they were not told about the breakfast hours too.

Apart from that, there was no mentioning about me being a Golden Circle member. Based on my experience with other hotel memberships, they did mention about my membership even when I was a still basic member. They said something like thank you for being our valued member or thank you for choosing to stay with us. This may actually make a guest feels truly appreciated.

Last but not least, there was no Welcome Fruits in my room. I was told a basic member will be given one, but I didn t get any.

All in all, I still enjoyed my stay with Jen Penang.
I am likely to return to Jen Penang if ever happened to be in Penang again. And I would, without a doubt, recommend this hotel to my friends and family members.

Extremely noisy hotel. Daytime is ongoing construction renovations with jack hammering constantly and during the night you here all kinds of noises and activities from the rooms either side and also the room directly above. The food at breakfast is not the best. The beds are very comfortable. And the rooms are nice and clean.

Really enjoyable stay staff was great all the way from front office, concierge and housekeeping.

Pleasant check-in by Katherine, who offered facilities at level 4 gym & pool, after checkout, as we had requested for a late-checkout which she could not accommodate due to heavy occupancy. That really helped as we wanted to have a shower after a day's roaming the streets, before boarding our late flight. Bathroom was a little small; the bar closed early on a sat so we, a group of 16, who were in Penang for a family reunion, moved to the St Giles rooftop which had a great view. Staff were well trained to attend to guests and make them feel warmly welcomed. thank you for the experience of Shangri-la.

Great location, nice ambiance and easy to move around the city. However, needs some improvement in how the GC customers are being treated.

The room was cleaned and neat. Services at the front desk was super.

The bath room was otherwise. It had the distinct heavy smell of "urine" coming from toilet bowl. I did not bother to change room as it was for one night. I am sure you could do better in this area.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they really made us feel at home. Also, the location is fantastic.

The room is big and clean, breakfast is good, staffs are very friendly, the best thing is its location, if one is travelling around George Town, you do not need a map or GPS to find the way back to this hotel, just look up, and the Komtar is there, walk towards the Komtar, and you will find this hotel sitting quietly next to Komtar, and many buses stop at Komtar too.Such experience is fantastic

Jen is definitely one of our fav places to stay in Penang. The reception person Leena if I recall correctly was very pleasant, as well as Mahazum from the Lobby Lounge. The room was clean, and comfortable. The only thing is the club lounge was closed and the services provided were in the lobby lounge which felt like it was not worth it. Other than that, we had a great time.

I totally enjoyed my stay this trip although it was a regular business trip. The senior members manning the club lounge notably William and Leena really do know how to anticipate your needs. Wished that other younger staffs will take after these two.

I stayed for 8 nights at club floor, 16 floor, at sane level as the club lounge which is really handy. Justin Ang, Tony and William Ooi looked after me. Justin carries my luggage to the lobby during my check out. The cannaors were plentiful but fattening. I like the rice porridge with condiments in the mornings. Room wa cleaned very well. Comfy bed and pillow facilitates restful REM sleep. The gym is well equipped but it needs a power rack and weight platform. There is a large steam sauna and a dry sauna which were great after shopping. The free CAT bus stop is just behind the hotel. First Avenue mall is great and there is a first class cinema on the top floor. The money changer on the ground floor at Prangin Mall (not the mobile phone section) but across the road from it, is a friendly money changer with good rates. Grab cars are cheap and very very clean. Hawker food galore surround this hotel. Clean food but generous on my waistline.
There is a 30 m pool with adequate sun light but children and non swimming adults crowd around one end of the pool. If you want to do lap swimming, you need to swim at 6 am or else swim around the children.
In summary, I rate Jen 10/10 and will choose to stay there again when I visit Pg for sure.

We arrived in Hotel Jen late at 9+pm after staying 2 nights in Hard Rock at Batu Ferringhi. Check in was fast. I loved the family room, especially the sofa bed as its perfect for my 2 kids to sleep on. The sofa bed was already laid out when we got into the room. For once, we didn't need to request for anything with housekeeping because everything was ready. There were enough pillows, blankets for all 4 of us. The hotel was really thoughtful to put extra pillows and blankets in the room. My kids actually commented that everything was better than Hard Rock (and we were expecting the opposite). The bed and pillows were super comfy. I managed to sleep uptil 9.30am which is very rare for me as I'm a light sleeper and usually don't sleep well on the first night of any hotel stay. The slippers were of much better quality than the ones in Hard Rock. We loved the lavender scented bath gel and shampoo. The shower pressure was sooooo much higher than Hard Rock, where not only was the shower pressure low, we even ran out of hot water quite frequently.

Last but not least, the hotel staff remembered that we were celebrating our kids birthday and gave us a nice big rainbow cake after we checked in. It was already 10.15 at night! We were so dead tired after a long day at Escape Park but the late night surprise was the perfect end to our stay in Penang. This is the first time we're staying in Hotel Jen and it surely won't be our last. Thank you for making our short stay such a pleasant one.

This hotel is near perfect! Great location, attractive public rooms, comfortable and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, attentive service, good breakfasts and comfortable bed. Well done to all concerned!

No hassle wifi, no need to register/log in.
The room was superb. Only the toilet bowl is higher than the normally Asian height.
Free parking as well

Club Level Rooms were newly refurbished. Executive Lounge was well stocked with F&B. Great view. Staff service was impeccable. Health Club was well-equipped. Great stay!

The pillows were too soft. Could not sleep well. Good location if you want to shop and move around Georgetown. More of a Business Hotel than a Tourist Hotel. Buffet Breakfast had a wide selection catering to various tastes. +1 for the takeaway coffee/tea option.
Room had all the electrical plugs / usb connections to satisfy a Business Traveler.

Was offered to upgrade to the Club Room for RM100++ per person but did not take the offer. This offer would allow access to the Club lounge + have snacks /drinks all day. Being on a holiday, most of the time was spent outside shopping /eating/ walking around so no point taking up the Offer.

Hotel Jen is the Best Hotel in Penang Island.It is in prime location meeting world class standards.Employees are very friendly and they are trained to give first priority to Guest.Food is delicious with multiple choices.
