Wonderful place. Both the small and the large music rooms have a great ambiance. If you prefer a more up-close performance go for the small one. The big room has a more formal feeling. The center's schedule always has something for my eclectic taste -I just heard a couple of fantastic Cuban jazz players-.

The Miner auditorium is a 700 seat, intimate venue, with no bad seats and great sound. There is a small full service restaurant. Drinks can be purchased in the lobby and taken into the venue. Find something to see and go or be adventurous and go sight unseen.

This is a fabulous venue for jazz performances. The acoustics are controllable and the audience can get very close to the stage. I watched Chris Botti here and the performance was electrifying due to the immediacy of the environment.

Such a beautiful and intimate venue. The sound is amazing as well. Additionally, you don't necessarily have to spend a ton of money on tickets; you can get into most shows for 25 or 30 bucks. The show I saw was in the main auditorium, but they have a smaller room as well. I'll definitely be back.

Great venue for small conventions and live shows, in the center of the city.
Clean and designed nice to fit small high scale events with few dining rooms.

Very good sound and screening system, so lectures are flawless.

Fantastic music venue for jazz performances up close. Great acoustics with roomy seating. Neighborhood location is a little odd: two one-way street going away from venue, causing most taxis to approach from wrong direction. Can be very pricey.

Incredible venue, helpful staff, and a bar on the first floor of the venue make this place a must see. I went to see Philip Glass and various artists one evening and sat behind the stage on the terrace. It was great up close!

The reason I give a 4/5 is mostly because of the seats. The terrace seating had no support (they wer essentially stools) and sitting in that for 2.5 hours could be difficult for folks. I scoped out if any other seats were like this and as you go up higher in tiers, I saw the same kind of thing. Orchestra level looked comfy though. Keep this in mind and enjoy your show!

My first time at sf jazz and was thoroughly impressed. World class architecture and sound engineering, intimate theater with state of the art technology. All speakers are flown above stage in perfect balance with the space. A must for live music/ jazz enthusiasts.
