I am a SF Jazz member and attend music performances regularly - both in Miner Auditorium and the Joe Henderson Lab. Not surprisingly, I am a fan, although I must confess that I always buy the most expensive floor/orchestra seats with the best view and most legroom. I also enjoy seeing smaller less established performers in the intimate setting of the Joe Henderson Lab which seats a hundred or so and is strictly first come first serve unless you happen to be a VIP member (which I am not). One of the best jazz venues in the country.

If you like architecture, the building is beautiful, especially the Hall. We could not see any performance because all the tickets were sold. Take tickets 1 week in advance. The San Francisco Jazz Festival is one of the most important in the world.

This is a wonderful facility with very helpful staff. It is on a rather busy corner, but walking to the venue was easy. It was great to see the youth jazz classes going on while patrons were filing in for the evening show. Cant wait to return.

Beautiful building with some excellent murals. Ever changing venue of events including ones for children. Small shop with t-shirts, CDs, and other stuff that would allow you to be a walking billboard (which I highly recommend).

I have seen a couple of shows at SFJAZZ, and I really enjoy it as a smaller venue. You get a much more intimate experience!

They have a lot of hipster-y bands (and consequently, hipsters)

Me and some of my friends had a chance to attend Jane Monheit's concert here a few weeks ago. Coincidentally, it was the first of the summer concert series!

I love the place. SF really needs a dedicated place to host Jazz musicians on a regular basis. The venue itself isn't too big, but not exactly small. It had just the right size for a Jazz concert.

We were seated at the upper level, and the seats were awesome. The seats were separated from each other and there's a small table where we can put our drinks, phone, etc. I'm a pretty wide guy, so having extra arm space was definitely helpful.

The acoustic were also great for a room of that size. We were able to enjoy Jane's beautiful voice to the fullest.

The location itself was pretty convenient. Parking was pretty easy if you come before 6 PM. There are plenty of nice restaurants that are walking distance (Chez Mamas, The Grove, Nojo). A perfect venue to spend a night with your date, or if you just want to hang out with your buddies.

The best!

I came here for the first time and I had assumed it was going to be in the larger auditorium. I had purchased tickets well in advance. We were the last couple to go in and were seated in the back on stools that were terribly uncomfortable. The musicians were awesome, the acoustics of the room great but I paid for seats and should of had them. Will try again

They really did such a great job with this place - it's intimate enough to thoroughly enjoy the musicians and it has plenty of space to wiggle on the dance floor. There isn't a bad seat in the house.

SFJAZZ is one of the very best jazz venues anywher...

SFJAZZ is one of the very best jazz venues anywhere - certainly on the West Coast. The acoustics are fabulous, allowing you to enjoy every note and rhythmic beat. When you're listening to a performance on the Joe Henderson Lab, it's all soundproof with no disturbance from the street. A fleet of fire trucks can go by with sirens blaring and you hear nothing but music!

Members get extra perks like discounts on shows and advance sales. If you love jazz, take a trip to the City and check this place out!

We bought balcony tickets for the Concha Buika concert on 15 Feb. The concert was fine. However, the seats were the worst theater seats that I have experience in my life. They were actually like bar stools that would be extremely uncomfortable in a bar let a lone a theater. It was almost painful to seat in these, with your legs dangling and not being able to lean on the back of the chair. SFJAZZ should be embarassed to offer such substandard facilities

This is an Amazing venue to see a live performance. Not a huge place, so you get a great view no matter where you sit. Staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back for another concert here

Close to Public Transportation (yes folks, try a Bus Pass for a few days. IT WORKS) City Hall, SF Symphony, Opera and the Conservatory of Music. Excellent location San Francisco. Wonderful performance space and very welcoming SFJazz staff. First time there with hope's of returning and experiencing the Joe Henderson Lab next time.

Had a fried chicken sandwich and a drink. Chicken sandwich was amazing, but the salad that came with (instead of fries) was really uninspired. The drink was a shallow pour (well whiskey on ice), but they did a great job accommodating my wish for bitters and citrus to add. 3 stars for salad and shallow pour, but 5 stars for sandwich and service.

Amazing, gorgeous venue that is worth your support if you are a lover of jazz. Not a bad seat in the house and the music sounds great from everywhere. Also very friendly and helpful staff. You can tell many of them are passionate about what they do. Support SF Jazz and hopefully other venues around the country will adopt their model!

SFJazz does a great job curating shows. Even if I don't know who the act is I'm pretty sure I will enjoy it if it is at SFJazz. The Joe Henderson room is a great spot to see acts; it is intimate and a great space open to the street beyond. The Miner Auditorium doesn't have a bad seat in the whole spot. I love that you can get cocktails at South and bring them into the Auditorium. This is a great asset for the city!

Wonderful venue to experience world-class live jazz. Being from New York, I was impressed by how engaged the audience was as compared to Jazz at Lincoln Center, but maybe that was related to the artist.
