Excellent gallery, an interesting space, with well curated contemporary shows. Not huge, you'll struggle to stay longer than half an hour, but include a visit to Sacker Gallery down the road and in the summer a drink in the pavillion and it makes an enjoyable afternoon.

Its location is ideal if you happen to be in Hyde Park and need to escape the heat. Unfortunately, I've never been a fan of their exhibitions, saw the weirdest one involving Ronald McDonald...

Gallery of Modern Art and Architecture located in the park, interesting events and exhibitions, outdoor installations (spring, summer). Bookstore with a wide range of books, attractive prices. I would recommend!

Beautifully situated in the park, this small and warm set of rooms shows the work and steps out of the way. And the large meandering bookstore doesn't sell much in the way of housewares or knickknacks; it sells big beautiful books and magazines about art, as if it were a reference bookstore for the art world.

Went to exhibition of Faith Ringgold at Serpentine Galleries, yesterday which opened 1st September until 8th September. Had so much in it to see from an African-American perspective and was all explained in little cards, alongside the picture.

This pair of small galleries in beautiful Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens tend to focus on modern art, but free entry means its always worth taking a look around. One gallery has a fine cafe, the other a superb bookshop, both very good to visit too.

The Serpentine Gallery has an international reputation for excellence since opening back in the early 1970's,
Many artists, architects and designers have worked there during this time and made a name for themselves.
The Gallery is a Grade II listed former tea pavilion had a major renovation in 1998, originally under the Patronage of Diana Princess of Wales.
I cannot think of a nicer way to spend the day walking along the Serpentine then popping by the Long Water looking at the magnificent sculpture by Henry Moore "The Arch" then stopping by this gallery for some more culture and art.
Go see it you will enjoy it.

I think most of the visitors here are for Zaha architecture. Only the restaurant part has Zaha architecture, so check the opening hours. When I went, the restaurant was closed so I could only see the exterior ...

When I visited there was a Yoko Ono exhibit (which I particularly love), featuring videos and works by avant-garde widow John Lennon. The gallery is inside Hyde Park so, at least in summer, it's delightful to walk through the lavender gardens until you reach the gallery. But do not risk the time because it closes early.

I have seen works by world class artists at this gallery for free. What's not to like? I usually make a day of it. Visit the serpentine gallery and the powder store then have a picnic if weather permits.

I came across this gallery while walking through Kensington garden. There was an interesting exhibition so I spend around an hour in there. The staff were helpful and informative. Also it was a hot day I spent walking outdoors so the AC in the gallery was refreshing.

Quiet, small gallery in superb location, presently curating selected works of Swiss 'surrealist' artist, Albert Oehlen. Very helpful staff although not really knowledgable about the work. Would have scored 5* if provided simple listing of exhibits in gallery order with brief background/explanation of each.

Thanks a lot for all of the Christo exhibit. I wonder why there were not more commercial trinkets available as there was at The Gates in New York City. There was almost nothing at The Piers in Italy either, but the Brescia museum exhibit covered a lot of Christo and his wife's work, and I spent a good while examining it. I do not know if there were any trinkets for the Running Fence in Sonoma County 40 years ago; it was pretty spread out (over 30 miles or so?) without a central observation place. I am glad I have seen four of Christo's productions and loved them all. I planned my trip to London this June around seeing The Mastaba.
