Select Apartments Review

Been there seven months, quite, and the kids are not bad at all. Small problem with ants out side. They spray once a month. By the time you start to see ants they spray. So they are on top of it. I never seen a roach. If you see one its most likely you brought it with you.

I lived here for 10 weeks. Last two weeks of May 2019, all of June and July 2019. In those weeks I was able to get all of my personal furniture and clothing infested with the most aggressive bed bugs known to man. Couches, beds, clothing, dressers etc. Aside from the heroin needles in the children s play area and the AC randomly not working during the hottest months in the summer, this is the worst place I ve ever lived, even when I knew it would be temporary

I live there and it is the worst place too live I would rather have stayed living homeless

Great place to live! Very clean. The management is so friendly and helpful. Prices are so extremely reasonable.

Looking for a new spot to stay is very stressful. Management was very nice and helpful.

The worst place to live i can write so much but just listen n find somewhere else to live especially if u have kids. Roach infested bed bug infested n the gaurdrails on the second floor are 8 inches high. " i know becayse my 1 year old fell through it!

This is what you could expect from select apartments almost one year and nothing is fix the mold is getting worse and the cabinets are falling apart and they don't fix it

I highly doubt any of the below reviews are from anybody that lived in these apartments. I lived there for a year. Within the first 4 months I walked out my door to discover a LARGE murder scene coming out of a first story apartment (which opens onto the court yard) and it drug down the sidewalk. I had to cover my children's eyes as I walked them out to go to school. The cops where there investigating it. On another occasion the apartment above me was busted for selling meth. You openly witness drug deals everywhere. There is no noise control. They will be outside with karaoke machines at midnight or screens with Wii's hooked up to them. The neighbor tried to attack me for calling the cops and management did nothing. I reported my fridge as broke and they let me set for days without a new one or even sending a maintenance man. Also if you like to live in comfort in the spring and summer when it is hot do not expect that to be an option here. The manager control the AC and you have NO say on when it comes on and what temp you apartment is. Not to mention you are NOT allowed to use window units. It makes you miserable hot. There is next to no room to cook and if you do in the summer your apartment becomes a furnace.There are cockroaches everywhere that they do little to try to control. The power blew out several times a month. THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX IS THE DEFINITION OF GHETTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter moved there a month ago, she left $ 200 to set aside the apartment, when she said she attended, another person did not give her $ 200. She goes to the office and the manager is never there, she hides, the apartment was delivered to her dirty With belongings of the old tenants, the dishwasher is covered, it calls and they do not answer. They will not fix anything until now,
We are already looking in the association for a complaint

We are frequently informed of impacts to or interruptions of support services. The Work Order system here is a wreck.

This is a ghetto area so I wasn't really expecting much else.
Pros: close to shopping, friendly staff.

Cons: Cabinets are old and shed. I don't even use them cuz its gross.

When we moved in, half our stove didn't work, it took them 2 weeks to come and fix it. The ac filters where filthy, we spent 3 weeks asking for replacements, we got them a month later.

Doors are cheap, I'm afraid to even close the bathroom or closet door completely because they get stuck and when you pull them too hard they chip.

YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER YOUR AC!!! And I just found out that in November they turn off EVERYONES AC units to turn the heaters on because "their are a lot of babies in the complex". I'm on the 3rd floor so its hot as hell. They told me to just open my windows, as if this was a secure enough place to do so.

Hobos constantly roam in the complex, one time one of them came up to us as we where sitting outside our apartment to ask us if we knew which apartment they could break into. My husband almost punched him. Also about a week ago someone broke into the first floor apartment behind us and stole their tv at around 3 In the afternoon. (Yeah let me leave the windows open to make it easier for them)

There are a lot of cockroaches, I have to bleach everything everyday just to make sure its clean.

THE POOL SUCKS! if you like rough pools that cut up your feet, this is definitely for you.

Kids are constantly outside screaming their lungs out till around 11PM. With no parental supervision. Oh and you can't tell the parents anything because they will attack you. Office won't do anything either.

In my opinion, they should demolish the entire place and start over and hire security. The whole complex is a hazard.

I would like to see a studio apt. Pictures if possible of any one can do so please and thank you

The dead girl that was killed on January 4th and the body dumped from across from my studio apartment. Was hard to deal with. Management not good at all staff change with new people about every 3 days. And that lady stocker miss P following you around and bothering you. And you can see mantinace workers . Mostly just standing around. And maybe do a hour or so work and get paid for the day. And 300 sq feet for apparment at $650.00 not worth it with a bad showrr that doesn't work. And small fridge. And one sink to wash dish and homeless people are coming in and out of there day and night. No security guards at all. Until that girl got killed. And then appartment painted the place new color and put in new lights because that girl got killed and het body dumped across from my apartment. You can hear everything going on in the place. More than once I heard people having all kinds of sex. And lots of fighting went on the 3rd floor of my building. And barking dogs all over the place. No A/C in the building. Windows are from the 1940 and anyone can open the windows and get into your apparment. Heat just barely worked bugs in the apartment evye when you asked for the apartment to be sprayed. You still have bugs. And the manager well she just sets in her office and playing with other girls and ladies. While you deal with rude office stxst. That is changing every 4 days. And I was forced to move out due to my health and Medical condition I got while I was living in my apartment. And I can't afford to pay for this and the $60,000.00 medical bills I now got to pay while I was living in select apparment and forced me to move out due to my medical problem and Medical bills. Honestly this .place s not worth $650.00
Between the drugs and alcohol and the church on the street people coming to your door and bothering you. And chasing you out side on the appartment grounds and even when staff is told about these problems . Not any thing is done about it. And more than once I seen some one move in and move back out in 3 to 15 days. .or they moved out in the middle of the night. At the end of the month . Save your money and health and safety and happiness. And find a more better place to live than this place
Because when you move in and you see everything for your self. You will move out too. Just like a lot of us people have done. In the last 3 months I stayed there. The place is not worth living in now with the $60,000.00 Medical bills . I .Now have to pay.

Roaches , noisey neighbors, and gun shots every other night .

The worst most ghetto place I ever lived full of roches and the staff is horrible they think they own the place And they make a lot of party's they don't let u sleep at night and take all the parking places

Don t go behind on your rent in the summer! They will switch off your A/C to where you can only turn on heat. This is highly illegal in AZ! They just did it to a friend of mine that lives there.

DO NOT MOVE HERE: The A/C dont work,everything is falling appart,there are roaches (they send pest control but they come back eventually) there are so many reasons for me to leave and yet I stayed to avoid the trouble of moving. But now I understand why many people who even lived here for years are moving out. So after 14+months always paying my rent on time and never causing any problems I got a new job where I get paid every 2 weeks. This is the second time( last pay and this one)where I ask if I could pay more than half and the total the next days when I get paid. SURPRISINGLY THEY SAID NO. Now because of 300$ you are gonna lose a long lasting always on time paying resident. Olivia the manager had no intention or sympathy to care about my problem to even pick up the phone.
I ASK FOR THE COORPORATE NUMBER THEY DIDNT HAVE IT. I WANT TO TALK TO CORPORATE AND APTS OWNERS and let them know you lost a year of rent that I could've stayed and renew contract for some pitty 300bucks. You can keep them. Im out.

Dont move here specially if you have kids or a family, theres helicopters flying around and guns fired all night long very very bad area;bums get into trash leave it on the floor all around,theres always problems with the hot water.There's definitely better options. ***Coorporate if you see this please add way to contact because I would like to speak with you since the MG DOESN'T CARE TO HELP select apt residents to even pick up the phone.I was easy one of the best residents here by myself no kids no problems and always paid my rent on time to be treated so unfairly. They want to add late fees for everyday ;and thats how society helps us the young people trying to make miracles with a minimum wage who cant have a career because with this high rentals theres no money for school supplies. Then after that society criticize the young for not doing anything. I can't describe the frustration, got to work till death to be able to pay your rent.

This apartments are full of roaches there is a lot of trash, leaks everywhere the rent went up like crazy! Since they change owners it went from okay to horrible service before they would come and fix everything quick now they won't come until they get tired of you calling them every day all day! I told them to come and fix the floors when I moved here and still hasn't been fixed! It's not worth it you can rent somewhere better for the same price.

Roaches, bedbugs, leaky ceiling, mold holes in my ceiling fir 3 weeks. They said they coukdnt fix unless i found the leak myself instead of hiring a professional

It has many roaches, that is, MANY !!!!!!!!! THEY ARE INFESTED WITH COCKROACHES AND WORMS ALSO GO OUT IN HOT WEATHER !! NEVER SERVE THE APPLIANCES NEIGHBORS ARE VERY ANGRYOOSSSS!

My first 4 months here was HELL. Twice my money order for rent was misplaced, the first time I had to pay the fees to have it replaced and the second time I was told it was cashed already but manager made me pay again to avoid eviction. Work orders didn't exist, homeless ran the complex and corporate office refused to call me back or respond to emails.
5th month we received a new manager Gwen and Maintenance Man Joe who have worked so hard to fix the huge mess left. They have done a wonderful job with work orders, putting our safety first and making it their priority to have what we were promised available. (Laundry room, pool etc...) I hope corporate realizes how important Gwen and Joe are to Select Apartments.

Hate it! I still live here but my lease will be up soon. Let me start by saying that the roaches never end! My stove has never worked, they have tried to fix it but it still doesn't work! They said they don't have any other one to give me, the AC did not work, not to mention they have a chiller system that they turn off whenever they feel is appropriate even if it still 100 degrees outside!,the shower water turns really cold and then really hot all of a sudden. The stair area always smells like pee! Management sucks and I could go on and on but I'm almost out of here so that is it for now. Save yourself the struggle and look somewhere else.

My girl friend lives there and on January 4th she walked out of her apartment and found a naked dead girl behind the palm tree. Management does nothing about the significant weeds on the property. AC is provided by a chiller on each building and management decides when that is turned off. Her ground level apartment has been so hot the last 3 months (Dec-Feb) that she has had to leave the door open with a fan bringing in cool air from outside.
The units have extremely small minature refrigerators and two burner cooktop stoves with no ovens.
Cockroaches abound despite repeated monthly spraying. Sewers back up frequently and management has done nothing to correct the problem.
Despite gated entrance the homeless seem to have taken up permanent residence there and constantly hit you up for money.
Management is only there from 9-5 Monday through Friday.

The staff is awesome and maintenance do their job great... They just got a new management company and owner and they seem really nice.

Terrance Bailey called in today to tell me that he loved living at Select. He also said that the managers are amazing and they were always willing to help with whatever was needed from the tenants and were always polite. He wished he didn't have to move closer to his work he would've stayed there

The staff is very incompetent and share misleading information they definitely lie so I strongly suggest you record any encounter regarding anything important

You get what you pay for....OR NOT!!! This place is HORRIBLE!!!! First off the unwanted guest(roaches) are non stop no matter what you do!! And whatever they re spraying is like food to these nasty pests!! They just keep coming back!!! And the air smh is a joke!!!!! It hasn t worked AT ALL since I ve been here (about 3wks smh) so it s terribly hot in my apartment!! The maintenance guy says the air blowing out it 69 yet my thermostat says it s between 85-90 in here soooooooo there a problem smh they don t care!!! I haven t had hot water in my apartment but that s seems to be a joke to them as well smh!!! And they have a huge dumpster right where by the walk way to get to the apartment and there s a trash EVERYWHERE bc the bums come and rummage through it! So the smell is unbearable but no one cares about that either smh I d rather live back in my townhouse for 1500/month!!! Moving here was the biggest mistake I ve ever made!!!! December can t come fast enough!!

Right now they shut off the A/C saying its "cold" so they turned them off.Its very hot unless you have a fan right in front of you all the time; Doing my make up in the bathroom or doing anything around the house is uncomfortably hot.The apts are full of roaches(they do free move in pest control but they eventually come back from other apts),laundry machines steal your money(you waste a lot of money for clothes to rinse or dry properly),homesless people and addicts walking around inside the complex or going through the trash 24/7 they even get into the cars to sleep at night or steal your belongings!!!The gate is a joke. It NEVER works so people get in anyways.VERY VERY VERY UNSAFE PLACE AND AREA just homeless n addicts all the way before you enter through the gate until you get out of the car and enter your apartment.This IS the kind of place that some states give as free housing literally for free. The management doesnt give a damn about anything but to collect your money from the top owners to the blonde unprofessional not friendly front office secretary.You sign all utilities contract but they turn off the A/C without telling you before hand or mentioning it on the contract, that is a rip off!!! I have hypothyroidism heat intolerance and It has become a nightmare to do anything or sleep.
It is cheap but you can find places close to what you pay here that are way better.DO NOT MOVE HERE OR YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE I DO EVERY DAY;even when they have the AC on it would not work most of the time probably shutting them off or very weak that is sooooo hot in the summer. Everything looks old ,the stove,fridge ,cabinets n mirrors look old.Moving here was one of the most horrible experience ive been through.

Totally false neighbors are complaining that even if its cold outside it gets very hot inside the apts.
Even if you keep your apt clean roaches will comeback from other apts (anyone knows this)

3 Guatemalan Guys Just Moved In These Apartments And They Where Washing There Clothes And There Was A Grip Of Bed Bugs I Will Never Step A Foot On This Property Again And TO Top It Off The Apartment They Moved Into Is Infected With Roaches!

DO NOT MOVE HERE !!! After 6 months living here and last administration not caring about my cat now this new administration want me to pay them 250 deposit plus 50 month .people lived here from many years before

First of all let me start this HONEST review by informing everyone about the ROACH & TERMITE infestation that they have and notify no one about. They have they're un-profesional maintenance men come out and "spray" which in my opinion made the problem worse!!

2nd PROBLEM. The apartments are trashed. The cabinets in the bathroom & the kitchen are straight up old and just nasty. They shed horribly. They make a huge mess every time im cleaning out my cabinets with bleach (TO TRY TO KEEP THE NASTY ROACHES AWAY)

3rd Problem; The laundromats are ghetto, the first time i ever washed there someone stole four pairs of my brand new jeans.

The whole apartment complex is just sketchy. Plus the employees are so unproffesional. Just stay away from this crap hole.

Absolutely terrible. You spend the first few months trying to get rid of the roaches from the previous tentant. The hot water has broken 5 times in the short while I've lived here, 3 of which took almost a whole week to fix. A/C is terrible. I left a hersey kiss on my counter and when I came home it was melted. When I talked to the office, they came looked for 5 seconds, said it was fine and left. You spend all day sweating inside. There is not enough parking spaces for residents and the few they have are too small. I'm 5'2" and 100lbs and struggle to get out of my car. Not to mention the police on property almost every other day, nightly search helicopters, or the fact that 3 other residents offered me free drugs in exchange for sex. DON'T MOVE HERE!

I lived in this apartment for a little over a year. Worst place ever. Took over 3 months to fix my ac, both of my stove top burners were broken and it took months to get 1 replaced. I got ripped off for over a thousand dollars because management didn't put it in their books correctly. Miss P the psycho lady kept harassing me and every one else there. Management's response. "We can't do anything because her sister pays her rent". Don't move to this place ever. You're better off living in your car or a hotel

We can't lie that a place like this would not have roaches,took me the whole 1st month to get rid of them and wow! Spent over $100 . Yes I know there's free spraying every Monday. It's just not enough. This place is so dirty.they need to rent a pressure washer do some cleaning,stair areas are so untouchable,no wonder everyone sick.rent is too expensive for such a old infested place. Nickel n dime the place til it blows up. Just because we make lo income we deserve better,you know!

The pictures shown here are absolutley false.Management sukks they are never around when you need them all apartments stink like death. I spent most of my time cleaning to try to make apartment smell better but in the 10 months I lived there I couldnt get smell to go away. Then after all my troubles they stiffed me with my 400$ security deposit because they claimed I didnt give them a hand written notice stating I was Moving a month in advance. Dont rent here ever !!
