My wife and I went to Secrets Silversands in Cancu...

My wife and I went to Secrets Silversands in Cancun for our honeymoon in May this year, and we absolutely loved it. We already can't wait to go back for an anniversary in the future. The resort was beautiful, the room was really nice, and the staff was very friendly. One of the best parts about the resort was the chicken that they grilled next to the pool every day for lunch. There were a bunch of really good restaurants but we still had the chicken for lunch just about every day. It was juicy and tender and the seasoning was incredible. We're trying to find a restaurant back home that has chicken like it but so far we haven't been able to figure out what the secret (no pun intended) is.

Our room was fantastic. It was on the top floor of the main building, and it had a private balcony with a jacuzzi. The room was very spacious with a gorgeous view of the resort and the beach, the bathroom was giant and had the nicest, fanciest shower we've ever used, and everything from the pillows to the towels to the bathrobes were super soft and cozy. The resort staff knew we were there for our honeymoon, so our bed always had something new on it every night, such as rose petals in the shape of a heart, or colorful pebbles the spelled out "Love" (which we took home in a bottle as a momento). The cleaning staff were quick and thorough, and when we realized there was a small leak in our ceiling, there was a repair guy there to fix it within the hour.

The infinity pool was on of our favorite hangout spots because it was so big and had a great view of the ocean. The staff are always walking by to offer you drinks next to the pool. Our favorites were the Sexy Banana (it was practically a milkshake) and the Blackberry Tulum. The beach was nice and had great spots to relax by the water. Secrets actually does a really good job cleaning up the seaweed that washes up - it seemed like the tractor was always going back and forth. Some of the neighboring resorts didn't clean the seaweed as well and it was everywhere, but they were on top of it at Secrets.

Some of the staff members that we remember in particular were Dylan (on the entertainment staff) who was really funny, energetic, and friendly. Ricardo was on the entertainment staff and was a lot of fun. We had a good time joking around with both Dylan and Ricardo. There were a bunch of others who we liked too. Alfonso was great and we enjoyed seeing him.

All the restaurants were good, and we highly recommend the events they have outside in the evening. There was a mariachi band night, and another night with beautiful singers. Every night a woman was in the lower lobby making Spanish and Mexican hot chocolate, which was a show in-and-of itself. It also tasted really good.

We can't wait to come back!
