Visiting Seattle for a conference and I had an emergency need of eye care assistance. The Seattle Eye staff were prompt and completely on board to help me transfer my prescription and work out the situation. So happy to have stayed downtown to seek their service!
Dr. Cowell is one of the best doctors I have seen in respect to their fields. I have always gone to a high volume optometry in the past and after trying out Dr. Cowell, I will never go back or to anyone else. His knowledge is top of the line, he cares about his patients, but most importantly, he works with you as a patient to get you what you want. The care is individualized to only you. The entire staff is friendly and all willing to make sure you get what you want. They care about your vision and eye health. HIGHLY recommend going here!
Dr. Fang s great! He was very friendly throughout, and took time to explain the tests he was doing and the results from the eye exam. The location is great and the staff are helpful. Billing to the insurance company was also simple. Would definitely recommend
Great experience. I was nervous about the doctor change since Dr. Crowell took such good care of me, but Dr. Fang made the transition of care very easy. He is young yet very knowledgeable and I was confident in his ability. He gave me honest feedback about questions I had concerning lasix surgery, and did not try to sell me on anything; he just gave me information and educated me so that I could make my own decisions. Very pleased. The front desk receptionist was also great and helped me save the most money buying new glasses, even though it wasn t from their office. I highly recommend this practice for your eye care!
Same day appointment and Dr. Fang fixed a prescription problem I have had for more than a year. Also just a nice team at Seattle Eye!
Small, friendly place with a caring, knowledgeable, and professional staff. I will be going back!
I have been going here for years. I don't have glasses but have gone for medical. I always feel very well taken care of. The doctor takes his time and listens to what I have to say and offers recommendations for speedy recovery. Getting an appointment is fast and they work with my schedule. I highly recommend Seattle Eye.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Came in with a problem with existing glasses and they fixed me up immediately.
This is my first eye exam at this facility. I would say Dr. Fang is really amazing. He took his time during my eye exam for glasses and contacts fittings. I don t feel being rush at all and he is very polite. About the front desk staff she s very knowledgeable too! about their products and insurance. I recommended this place to my friend already who needs to do his eye exam soon!
Making an appointment was so easy, clicked a time that worked for me and was in that day. New patient forms weren t lengthy and exam was very thorough. Would highly recommend!
Dr. Fong and his staff are excellent to work with. I highly recommend them!
Unbelievably helpful staff. They really took care of me!
Called in and was told that I was in network. Have eye exam and lenses made. Turns out they're not in network and my insurance won't cover...They were nice enough to take back the lenses and issue full refund. Eye exam was 10$ more than it needed to be but whatevs. They're nice, but definitely check with your insurance first before buying.
I bumped up this review by a star bc the manager, Rain, reached out to me and straightened the situation out. She issued a full refund on the lenses due to the insurance problem. I was very impressed. Overall, I would recommend.
Dr. Jerffrey Fang was quick, thorough and knowledgeable. He walked me through the history of contact lenses and ensured I had the right lense for my eye. I am very pleased with my experience at Seattle Eye.
They're awesome, and efficient. From a high level of service, to quick and efficient appointments, to getting all the details right I highly trust Seattle Eye.
As an aside, there are a few minor details that I normally ask my optometrist for - having a contacts prescription for 2 years instead of just 1 year, emailing receipts and prescriptions, specific insurance requests - that they do by default, without me having to ask.
Rude..I bet the optometrist are nice but from just a very rude phone call from their staff I know for sure I will not waste my time here. The lady hung up the phone before I was even finished getting the information I needed and when I asked further about how to go about something she gave a vague answer and hung up. Not worth the time.
Friendly, fast, and accurate. Lots of frame styles!
That was beautiful service. Very kind peoples, also convenient.
Great optometrist. Dr. Fang listened to my concerns and thoroughly assessed my eyes and my vision. He explained things well and didn t feel rushed. The front desk was also fantastic! They gave me a laminated card with my prescription and emailed it to me. I always lose the hard copy so I appreciate having a couple ways to keep track of it!
Dr. Crowell is awesome! I had issues with previous eye exams with another doctor (not at Seattle Eye MDs). Dr. Crowell saw me the same day I called to get an appointment. Excellent exam, he listened to my concerns, troubles, and questions. He was able to correct my vision issues. I left being able to see clearly, I haven't been to for the last few months. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Benjamin D. Crowell was amazing. He put me at ease, informed me about tools and procedures, did everything he could to help me out. He himself laminated a card with my prescription on it, which is an incredibly helpful kindness I've never had in any optometrist's practice before.
His office staff, though, was amazingly bad. Frequently there is no one at all at the front desk, even though there are at least four people on staff. They disappear while phones ring, customers wait for 30 minutes at a time, even when the doctor is looking for help. At one point a customer raised her voice after being ignored by a staff member for a solid ten minutes, then had to argue about whether or not she had an appointment. (She did.)
When Dr. Crowell did find staff and ask them to replace my lenses, they told me to go get a coffee. I tried but of course, I couldn't see, so I quickly came back and busied myself in the office while I waited. After an hour or so the staff told me that they just couldn't cut one of the lenses and handed me back mangled frames. They didn't screw the frames back together completely and the lenses are now set at different, jutting angles, and only one lens is replaced.
I asked if I should just go ahead and buy frames, as I'd intended to anyway. They told me I should go elsewhere and buy them, since they wouldn't bill my insurance for frames. They had already billed my insurance for the exam, and they do take it; they just insisted I should go elsewhere to order frames.
I've never experienced that. I asked why they wouldn't bill for frames, as I knew it was covered, and they just insisted a third time I should go elsewhere. I asked if they had any specific place to refer me to, as my insurance sent me to them, and they sent me up the street to an unrelated business that does not take my insurance and was equally weirded out by the request. My insurance also found it inexplicable. Today I called to follow up and reached an answering service despite it being their operating hours.
I'm torn because I actually fell in love with a pair of Kate Spade frames they had in the office and I'm willing to fork over $300+ over my insurance's coverage, but they are making it incredibly hard to do business with them. Dr. Crowell, I hope you find better staff soon.
A great place . I have been here a couple of times to get my eyes examined and have always been treated professionally and enjoyed their fantastic customer service . They also have a fantastic selection of sunglasses . I have even purchased ski goggles here ! Highly recommended .
Mr Fang is very experienced doctor , highly recommended.
Dr. Fang went above and beyond to help when I had to get a rust ring out of my eye, even working around my schedule and coming in early to see me. He was very thorough and made me feel as comfortable as possible with a pointy object going towards my eye.
Amazingly poor service. This review will cover two points of contention and the final response from the owner. I ordered new eyeglasses at their retail cost around $1,500 last December and it took a month to receive. When I tried them on I immediately noticed a blemish on the lens. They had to be replaced. For my troubles the company gave me a half-price discount on my next pair of eyeglasses. I used the credit to replace the lenses again as I actually wanted Transitions. Also, when he marked up the glasses for Progressive lenses it was all wrong and I had trouble seeing out of them. I received the replacement lenses just as the Pandemic lockdown started so they were mailed to me. Upon trying them on and wearing for awhile I noticed that somehow they didn't apply the Transition lenses! The one thing I specifically wanted and they got it wrong again. I was upset as yet again they got my eyeglasses wrong. I asked and received a refund and was told that I could come back after the lockdown and they would fix them again. I hesitated but went back for a third time. Upon asking for payment I asked to pay upon receipt due to the past experiences. The optometrist said he understood but would need to ask the owner. The owners response was to essentially tell me to go to go to hell as he refused to do the work. They told me to either pick up my eyeglasses or have them mailed. In conclusion, the company screwed up three times. First with the lens blemish and taking a month to complete the order. Second they didn't get the Progressive lenses correct and third they didn't get the Transition lenses then refused to fix. They made it right once then decidedly slammed the door when attempting to get the Transition lenses. I ended up going to another store where I just bought an entire new pair of eyeglasses. Not one problem and I had them in one week.
Wonderful customer experience. Dr. Fang was very informative on all procedures. The receptionists were warm and inviting. The eyewear studio was clean, and bright. Lots of updated items and trends. Very happy overall!
Doctor Fang is very knowledgeable and more importantly, patient to tell you all the details about your eyes, potential risks you might encounter in the future. Highly recommended
Highly recommend this practice! The doctor is very patient spent a lot of time with me explaining everything I needed to know. Also, I received more accurate diagnosis compared to another provider i visited last year. To add to that the staff are super friendly and efficient. Overall a happy customer :)
It was a great experience! I had redness in my eye and was taken care by Dr. Fang. He took my eye exam as well as provided me some daily contacts.
The appointment was fine but when I called back later it was almost as if I didn't exist anymore. I tried calling multiple times with no answer (left messages with an answering service) and also tried emailing. My phone calls were never returned and my email went unanswered. All I wanted was my prescription information but now I'd rather just get a new exam elsewhere rather than return to Seattle Eye M.D.s.
Don t bother with this shop on a Saturday. This is the second time we were standing in front of closed doors. Just when we were about to leave a woman showed up. We pointed out that a sign in the door would be helpful she immediately gave us an attitude and we decided to leave and spent our money somewhere else. Too bad the Doctor is quite nice but his staff sucks bad.
Timely and attentive...I highly recommend Dr. Fang.
My husband is Software Engineer, when he read about usefulness of Gunnar Glasses which eliminate digital eye strain & block blue light, basically protecting the eyes more, he wanted to get Gunnar glasses so that he can focus more , work longer efficiently .
They were only three shops in Seattle , selling Gunnar glasses in that Seattle Eye MD has good reviews , Doctors & customer service was good . We had eye exam, doctor carefully read about medical history of eye because back in India my husband has KXL surgery & suggested the best one .
One issue we faced over there is, doctor & Seattle eye service has both different insurance policies , For VSP policy , Doctor was "In Network " and Seattle eye glass shop was "Out of Network "so we had to pay full amount & claim it back
Great experience! Was able to get an appointment for the same day on a Saturday, which is so hard in Seattle. Appreciate Dr. Fong's patience during the contacts fitting exam.
I was visiting from out of town and had an issue with my glasses. I stopped in and the optician was helpful in fixing my glasses for me.
Super accommodating: I had to reschedule the first appointment and was late to the second one but Dr. Fang took me in and was an absolute pleasure, unquestionably professional, very friendly and easy going, and so willing to share and educate. He definitely took his time with me, too, which is always appreciated, right?
And then I got to enjoy the company of Paul who was helpful, smart and funny, and managed to find a perfect pair of frames for me that I would never think of myself!
A chill vibe to the place, a nice selection... Just wish they could validate my parking :) (Or, maybe they could, eh? Will ask the next time.)
I would recommend this place to anyone who needs vision care.
The appointment is very flexible. I called for a visual exam in the morning and I had my eye examined at noon.
The optometrist was very efficient and patient. He was willing to answer all your concerns about vision care.
Dr. Fang & his staff are consummately professional. They truly look after the patient's best interests & work tirelessly to reach a healthy outcome. Thank you, Dr.!
I was very happy initially when I took in my prescription and paid up front for my order - what I had expected to be Rayban glasses with photochromic/transition lenses. I twice explained to the optician that that was part of my desired and required order. My partner was also with me for an eye test and heard me say it also. I spelled out that 'they act also as my sunglasses; I want them to tint in the sun.'
I phoned back a few days following collection - it had became apparent that they were not affected by heat/strong light at all. I was told that I had to pay another $185, but it would be reduced to $100 as a 'goodwill gesture.'
During discussions with the optician in question, I asked what, if anything, I had done wrong in terms of the order. She replied, "nothing, I probably didn't hear you." To add insult to (financial) injury, when the new lenses were inserted, I left the clinic and walked a few blocks to find that one of the lenses was either the wrong size or hadn't been inserted properly! I had to return once again to Seattle Eye for this to be remedied.
Having asked for a review of this entirely appalling set of circumstances, the receptionist said my request for the $100 extra fee to be reconsidered was putting her in a 'tight bind' or words to that effect. Little or no regard was shown to me as the customer. The response from the director earlier today - according to the optician - was essentially that I had been given a 'generous discount.' Apparently, me paying an extra $100 beyond what I had initially ordered is something to be grateful for?
The text message response also asked if I would like my details to be passed onto a other optical shop(!?) I fail to see any relevance in this latter point. No thanks on that score anyway!
Overall, good product, but totally wish I'd never set foot in there in the first place, given the entire fiasco. If this how a 'family owned company' (in the words of today's SMS from Seattle Eye), then maybe I should have gone to the three other larger providers that the same message referred to...
I was very anxious coming in for my glasses/contact exam, as I hadn t had my eyes checked in a few years. Dr. Fang was incredibly kind and made the experience really enjoyable and straightforward. It was a total of 30 minutes from my arrival to the time I walked out with my trial contacts and my newly checked glasses prescription. Highly recommend!
Went to check out this place last week because I heard they carry Costa Del Mar suns. I talked to Rain who was very nice answering all my questions regarding my prescription- Thank you for that! Unfortunately my prescription expired so I'm going to come back next week. Everyone was chill, got a great feel here.
I had a good experience with the doctor but the half that fills the prescriptions for the glasses are really terrible. They charged me 400.00 for someone elses glasses and was rude about it when I came back. They didnt even apologize for it... happens everyday? -1 for incorrect charge -2 for rudness -1 for not apologing and making me feel like I wasted my afternoon and coming back twice. +1 for a good healer in party.
Dr. Fang was great to work with, along with the rest of the staff at Seattle Eye. Easy going, straightforward, and pleasant experience!
Dr. Feng was great, he was very patient and did a thorough examination of my eyes. He answered all my questions and I would go back to him for sure.
I am really happy with the services I received at Seattle Eye.The Staff were so helpful and knowledgeable that it made my experience that much better.
I would say that this place has some great designer frames and the selection is wonderful. I really like their prompt service. The prices here are reasonable especially for it being located in downtown Seattle.
I received my new frames and prescription in the mail in about a week and half which I think is a great turn around service. Will keep going back. Dr. Crowell is great too.
Amazing! I came here for a routine eye exam and dilation. Dr. Fang took his time to explain everything and take a thorough detailed look at my eyes! Very happy with my appointment. also the office staff was also very honest and super helpful (very appreciated). I would highly recommend everyone in the area come here. I will be coming back here for sure.
Excellent staff, efficient and effective evaluation. Highly recommended.
I had a great experience, the doctor guide thru every exam and explain everything to me.
Quick service. Very kind and professional staff. Doctor Fang was alas I great. Will be back!
Here's the real secret about this place...
If you go in, during business hours, and you don't buy their glasses... they're still actually super nice. They're genuinely friendly, and not just trying to sell you something. They help you, they listen, pay attention to your needs, and will even clean and make minor adjustments to your personal glasses, while you're looking around. In Seattle? That's unheard of.
Its everything I've been wanting from an optical store. Thanks to Rain, I'm a customer for life. :)
