Loved the staff super professional. Joe my social worker was especially helpful because he said in therapy you want to talk about trama and the point is to eventually forgive the person. Also Ilean said that she didn t drink for 20 years even when she had problems and she s amazing raised 5 kids and worked multiple jobs. And no Seafield does not have a pool. I had a pool table people.

Yes the food was great but this was 2015 and they detox everyone with Vicodin. It was horrible. The psychiatrist wouldn t change my meds cause I didn t see him outpatient. The facility was clean and food great but they wouldn t admit me back after having been VOLUNTARY admitted to psych ward seeing my meds couldn t be changed. Doctor was real nasty to me too.

Seafield is absolutely horrible! I would advise against anyone ever going there. I honestly would rather stay an alcoholic than to ever step foot in that place again. Before entering, they had me list all of the medications I was on. Never once did they ever say it was going to be a problem. When I asked for my medication, they told me they don't allow that on the property (as the nurse laughed in my face). I asked to speak to the doctor regarding this and was told several times I would be able to meet with him. They never let me see him and eventually I checked out myself out. They wouldn't give me a more detailed explanation as to why they were taking me off my medications. I also felt it was not right that they would just take me off medications, not providing an alternative, and never even examining me. It was absolutely ridiculous. I got stuck with a huge bill, and they agreed to negotiate the cost down, but now I am receiving bills for the full amount. They are greedy, uncaring people. The counselors act nice, but when you actually approach them about a problem, they call you a baby and tell you to get over it. Also, in my few days there, someone overdosed on drugs. They then claimed I was the one who brought the contraband in and kept making me take drug test after drug test. Of course they found nothing, because I had nothing to do with it. But they treat you like a criminal just because you have an addiction problem. I have never been arrested. The worst thing on my record is a speeding ticket. These people treat everyone like they are scum. I would have given zero stars, but that was not an option.

I WAS AT SEAFIELD 2 MONTHS AGO. I TOLD MYSELF THAT IF I RELAPSE AFTER LEAVING SEAFIELD..... THAT I'D BE A COMPLETE FOOL. I DID RELAPSE A MONTH LATER. FIRST I'LL SAY IS THAT I'VE BEEN TO ABOUT EVERY REHAB IN NY/NYC...."NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO THE TREATMENT YOU GET AT SEAFIELD!" I LEFT IMPRESSED! "EVERY AREA OF STAFF MANAGEMENT IS 5 STARS RATED! THE ADMISSION PROCESS, THE STAFF(COUNSELORS), NURSING, SECURITY, FOOD SERVICE, CLEANING LADIES, MAINTENANCE, LECTURES, EXERCISE LEADERS, EVERYONE WHO WORKS IN THESE AREAS TREATED ME WITH LOVE, CARE, RESPECT. AND ABOVE ALL... PROFESSIONALISM! I WILL BE GOING BACK, BECAUSE IT IS BY FAR, THE BEST REHAB IN NY PERIOD!" YES, I WAS A FOOL FOR RELAPSING, BUT THIS FOOL IS GOING BACK! AND THIS TIME I MEAN BUSINESS... MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!

I went here around 3 years ago now. Looking back at my road to recovery I think I learned more about myself here than I had at any other facility I attended. The rehab was highly structured and violating the rules more than once or certain rules at all would lead to immediate dismissal from the program. What I liked about this location was that it provided an environment that would resemble that of what one would realistically experience on the outside. Hence we were allowed to smoke, and although groups were coed, we were held accountable if we diverted from any sort of recovery focus in order to converse with the opposite sex. Too many times rehabs create an environment so controlled that once you are discharged, the amount of triggers you are faced with can be extremely overwhelming. At this place you are in a way forced to deal with some of those triggers and experience first hand while in treatment the consequences of going against your personalized treatment plan. Overall I felt that I received the most helpful treatment while at this facility. Unfortunately life events occurred shortly after which put me off track for a little bit before I regained control of my recovery again. But that is my responsibility. I give this location 4 stars because there was one aspect to the treatment that I felt added more pressure to my recovery that was not needed. This was when family was allowed to visit. When family first came to the facility they are given a presentation about what the stereotype "addict" is likely to do. However, not all of us fall into this category and I feel that this leads to false beliefs and notions being implanted in the loved ones head that are then used as "credible" evidence despite what may actually be true about a person. I dont think that isolating parents or loved ones from the person in recovery is the best way to create bridges of trust. If anything I think everything should be done together so that everyone is on the same page. Either way, knock on wood, if I find myself in a place where I need assistance to get back on my feet again this will be it. Thank you for helping me on my road to recovery !

I can only rate it based off of the way i was guided because i or my friend were not able to make it there. I will say a young lady named Christine, answered the phone. She was so sweet it literally shocked me at how much she cared about my friend coming for detox and etc. Usually you have people that answer thr phone and want to hang up on you as soon as possible. She truly deserves a good review in how much she was punctual and super emphatic, wish people can answer the phone like that and make you feel comfortable

What did they say you are going to do? Just curious cause i really dont like that

I don t think the nurses who work there are qualified. They don t even know most medications or allow certain ones people need. Visiting time is a waste because you spend 3/4 hours stuck in useless meetings and discussion before you even get any alone time. And you can t bring them any outside food to share a meal with them, but somehow can bring them cigarettes. They have a snaxk shop owned by someone who is only there 2 days a week. What a joke. You re a rehab with not even a minimal 3.5 stars lmao...think about that

My husband went here and got a lot out of it. He loved his counselors and good progress in his recovery. Said the facilities were very nice, though they didn't take many precautions for COVID. He enjoyed being able to attend virtual meetings there once he left. If you're looking for a place in the NYC area, also recommend Marworth in PA.

Pros: They accept medicaid, smoking is allowed, food is good, place is cleaned daily, soda machines and payphones if you have money, cheap commissary on certain days, two T.V's, pool table, workout/art room. Family time on weekends.

Most staff + counselors were friendly/helpful. A lot were former patients or addicts. Some groups are VERY inspiring and motivating.

Cons: Detox is not separate and your required to attend all groups during this time. medical staff can be rude/unhelpful, strict segregated male/female interaction.

Some people don t know their job place I got a lot of stuff stolen from me some stuff from people there and I feel disgusted with the whole program I was actually someone that wanted to try someone that cared someone that loved and wanted to give them my all and they spit me in the face Disgusting what I had to go through

this place is the most horrible rehab and treatment center ever, they dont care if your love one is suffering, they only care about MONEY, if for some reason the insurance does not wants to cover more than 2 days, they kick your love one out, with out consideration or they charge you 3200 per week, if you can not afford it then you and your family member are out with out the right to talk to the psychologist or to a "doctor" that was in charge of your family member. Please dont go to this place , your son or daughter will come out worse than when they get in

I was at Seafield 2 years ago and i had a great experience. If you are truly looking to get treatment, this is the ideal place in my opinion. The groups were good, the counselors were genuine about helping you along your recovery and there were activities other than groups to occupy the mind. I am reading comments about, their insurance would not cover them and they were left waiting in waiting area. well, what was seafield to do for you while you wait for some one to pick you up.. They are there to help us but after all it is a business and they do have to get paid. 3 thumbs up for seafield. If you w3ant to recover, try it you'll like

I cant say enough for this place. When i went there i was dying slowly. I had been an iv drug user for 5 years and i wanted to die. They accepted my medicaid insurance and gave me a chance to live. I made freinds, learned to laugh again and attended meetings and groups with an open mind. Ive been clean over 3 years thanks to my higher power my program of recovery and Seafield.
If youre reading this and youre on the fence about recovery just go for it you deserve better. Good luck and god bless. Thank you seafield.

Terrible place. I cringe when I think about it. Everything from the "rev" and the security people that stand around, disgusting. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Surprised the rev is still alive(I'm cringing again).
