Beautiful !! Admire the Gannets up close on Bass Rock. 10,000s on this rock
On the site of the old open-air baths, full of information about seabirds and Gannets in particular. Wonderful views of Bass Rock, the Forth Islands, North Berwick Law and bay.
Incredible scenes and beautiful coastline. Water was clear and the breeze refreshing.
Ideal for a quick break..food and rest stop...lovely views
Previous Review,tells all .
AN EXCELLENT AND EDUCATIONAL FACILITY.
Haven at the seaside like the new lay out friendly staff always helpful love the artwork full of interest and very educational great cafe dog friendly that's a plus
Most delicious Cullen Skink and very friendly staff
Everything was done with love.
All live cameras work 1A.
Recommended!
Wonderful view. Super shop. Great coffee and food!!
Typical interpretation center, this time about seabirds.
Apart from offering you some small cruises through the small nearby islands to see some birds, among them and as announced by the famous Puffins.
It also has a large enough store to buy any souvenir, gift or book on the subject and also have a coffee.
One of the greatest experience. More than 10 thousand birds, migrating all over from the world including arcitica. Two islands near to shore. Boating to look at them is great
Learned a lot about sea birds and their life and migration well worth a visit
We stopped here for lunch great menu for adults and children. Also dog friendly so our whole family were welcome.
We used to visit here quite a lot when our children were younger, we always enjoyed our visit to the centre. A North Berwick is a nice place to spend some time.
Nice place for children. Unfortunately rather expensive and you do have to pay for 3 year olds whereas in all of Scotland attractions they go in for free.
This is fantastic for kids of a young age to lewrn alot for a cheap price. Great club and lots to give to kids
Don't hate it quite enjoyable staff helpful good place to enjoy a coffee and great views
A cafe with a sea view I really like the terrace overlooking Bass rock
Beautiful centre at North Berwick. Free entry and has a bit of everything
Great place for day out lots to do here. Great views and lovely seating areas round lighthouse. Watch out for the waves as they crash on to walkways. Take a towel on a windy day. Lovely place
A must see experience. Cafe serves good foot at a reasonable price.
so fun, with lots of yummy foods and cute gifts, it's a place for the whole family. puffin watching is also a favourite !!
Wonderful attraction full of interesting things great for the kids
Excellent cafe great menu also shop for gifts and video show.
Nice information and a free stopover at other end of village
Amazing day out trip. To See 100k birds in one place is not to happen often. Super talented guide.
Good selection of books gifts and the cafe is very good, also great views of the sea and sea birds!
Nice place to relax for a view moments. A great small seafood bar at the tiny harbour.
Disappointed.
Quite expensive if you are over 3 years old.
Good cafe, good food, quick service, great sea views.
The good?
Great for kids
Interesting info in the wildlife and 3d film was excellent.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Toilets are clean and we'll kept.
The bad?
Not set up very well for disabled visitors chairs or scooters as the displays do not have enough space to move around.
If in a wheelchair then you cannot use the viewing area properly as there are no telescopes at wheelchair height and the wall is too high to see over.
There are options to see on screen inside, however a few simple changes could make the outside area accessible for all.
Great little experience with live cameras on the local protected nesting site for the seabirds you can move and zoom. Also a 3d cinema with great educational videos about the wildlife and conservation. The cafe on site is excellent too.
Worth taking the catamaran cruise to see the birds up close and some seals if you're lucky!
It is the right compendium to visit Bass Rock. In this beautiful structure you can acquire all the information on the characteristics and peculiarities of the species "Sula Bassana" a beautiful seabird that here in Scotland has a very high concentration of specimens.
In the building there is also a nice gift shop with items also of good finish and really nice ...
Great day out food good ,staff friendly will definitely be back
Big beach. Marina. Good bars with fried fish and lobsters. Ornithological museum. Souvenir shop.
I was not there! Please only ask people who entered the actual building.
Great experience. Good little cafe and gift shop. We didn't get a chance to do the boat tour but will try next time. The live view of the Bass rock was fun too.
Although the wind was strong , but the view is wonderful there , and you can also visit the place that they give the introduction , because it's good for children to know something about seabird .
We always visit this place for a coffee, as much because of its location than anything else. Don't get me wrong the coffee and tosties are nice and the staff are pleasant. They were dressed as Pirates last time we were in with big black eyes. Perhaps they'd just had a punch up !!!
Cool place but you can not see much (except the sea of course)
Nice place friendly staff, very busy in a sunny day nice place for a cupper and chill
Nice center of study and dissemination, of the life and habitat of many species of seabirds.
Lovely ground floor with extended refurbished cafe and shop. Can't wait until the discovery centre floor is done as it's looking very tired with missing displays.
food was standard not particularly of note and basic facilities were clean and tidy
Horrid lasagna that tasted like cardboard, very obviously been microwaved to reheat.
Must visit hands on the kids will love it, end with a coffee
So much to see and do. Very child orientated. Great shop and cafe.
We took a day trip to the center from Edinburgh. It is a short (25 min) train ride. The center is about a 10 minute walk from the station. I would highly recommend booking a boat tour (over an hour) as it will be the highlight of your visit! The centre itself was interesting, probably about half an hour to see everything (longer if you have little ones, e g. under 7 or so) as there were many exhibits targeting that younger range.
So exciting that I spent my visit in their cafe. Don't bother going unless you are suicudally bored.
I have bean going for years it is relly good for kids
If you like birds or want to learn about sea birds this is a great place to visit
The Centre it self is devoted to explaining the breath and depth of the incredible range of seabirds on the coast and nearby islands.
Visitors are given control of remote control cameras mounted on the islands out at sea
There is also a cafe and excellent gift shop.
For those who prefer an adventure a number of boat trips to various islands are available depending on the season and local weather conditions.
As a wildlife photographer I found both the centre exhibit and the boat trip very interesting as did the many family groups on the trip
Weather conditions can make or break the boat trip but the centre is interesting even on a wet day
Coffee, scenery, ecology, cute dogs, amazing beaches, stunning views in sunshine and stunning views in rough seas. Boat trips are amazing. Cost is good value for money considering knowledge and insurance etc
Fascinating experience and really interesting facts and information ! Plus stunning location. Would strongly recommend.
Went here when website said open only to see small sign on door Closed for refurb. Had journeyed 50 miles. Very poor
