30 minutes for a sandwich and this wasn't the first time the service was so slow. Nice people but I'll never be back to the William cannon location. Too many disappointing experiences with slowness.
You asked for more information. She called two of the staff over in front of the ladies room where I gather there are no cameras. She proceeded to chastize them for dirt that she had to get down on her hands and knees and look under the ice/soda machine to find and then used a stern louder than needed voice that could be heard by most all tables.
This time: quick and tasty today. It is really a shame how the manager treats the employees and chastizes them in front of customers. This place needs a new manager who cares for her staff.
Last time: A bit slow today. Usually faster. Friendly staff. Tasty salads.
Excellent sandwiches. Things seem a bit pricey until you get your order and see how much food is in the bag.
Always a very slow, long wait for my food, which is often wrong. Staff seems very friendly, but is very obviously overworked. There has been a sign saying they are training new people for months and as far as I can tell it has always and will always be there. Eat at other schlotskys bc the food is great, it's just this one that is a mess.

I don't usually eat at Schlotzsky's but after enjoying my meal from the Brodie location so much, I thought I'd give this one a try. Big mistake! The wait was about 10mins which isn't to bad but the food quality definitely lacks. I ordered a half sandwich with half brisket mac-n-cheese. My sandwich barely had any meat so was mostly bread while my mac-n-cheese only had like 3 strips of brisket. I also ordered 3 cookies for a $1 that were old and hard. However, the worst part was the restuarant itself. There was so much smoke and smog inside that it made it nearly impossible to eat. I was literally getting a headache while waiting for my food. I will say the manager was very professional and polite; she checked on the customers regularly. I also didn't have any issues with the workers although they did look very young.
The food is just as good as any schlotzskys, but the place has serious issues keeping its small dining area clean. I've held off leaving a review til is been here a few times to see if it was a fluke, but there hasn't been an improvement. The drink area is particularly nasty and I fail to believe it's wiped down even once a day. All the chairs and tables require you to clear the remains of the last patrons, and when I did see once a freshly wiped table as it dried there was a gross residue that made me uncomfortable to eat over.
Like I said though the food is excellent and always comes out freshly hot, so I'll begrudgingly keep coming because of proximity to work, but if you are a clean freak steer clear.
We waited 15 in line behind a car ordering to then wait another 10 minutes to be asked to wait before we could order. I ordered 2 sandwiches no combos just sandwiches. After I pay, we then wait another 15 minutes for our order to be given to us. That's beyond ridiculous!! There was plenty of staff in the kitchen standing around. Unacceptable!!
Fast and delicious used my rewards points and received a free sandwich.

These guys are rockstars and I cannot thank them enough for the great services I received at store #1107.Its is refreshing to get the mom and pop vibe from these guys and wish them the best. Waited over 40 mins for a couple sandwiches... They're in way over their heads...
I was raised on schlotzskys but my visit at this one made me not one another one for a very long time. I will also not buy it from this location. The bread 21st soggy and had brown circle where the wet bread was and had a very bad taste.
The service and management were superb! They both went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied.
Unbelievable what these people gave me today. My sandwich tasted like i got a leftover bread and they didn t even put that much meat. And my soup isn t even soup it almost looks and taste like it was pudding. And i am not over exaggerating this place is known for bad food I recommend the one on sunset valley because these people obviously have no pride in what their doing.
Good sandwiches, but a bit pricey. Friendly service. drive through tends to have problems getting the order correct, so check your order before you leave.
They didn't get my order right and took a very long time to get my order out of the drive thru and kept asking me what my order was when I pulled up to pay
Worse schlotzsky's I've been too! I normally go to the one in cedar park which is amazing. Great customer service and food! On the other hand this location was not my favorite. "Debra" who I'm guessing is in charge has a horrible attitude towards all of her customers! I will not be returning. This location also needs to be updated. The place inside looked grungy and dirty. Back to "Debra" she needs to be retired!
I went through the drive-thru so my daughter could pick up a sandwich for dinner. The menu wasn't lit up, it was dark, so she just ordered a large original, with idea of saving a little for lunch the next day. Uhoh! The large size sandwich was as big as a dinner plate & could serve 4 people! I guess it was worth the 12.25 she paid for it, cause definitely big enough to share AND have a lunch the next day. But just a warning, don't drive up & order from the menu at night, with no lights on it..duh.. unless you know what you want! Lol (We asked the guy on the speaker to turn the lights on, he mumbled something back, don't know what he said, ordered anyway, learned our lesson..next time go inside) Good sandwich though
Yummy fresh baked buns with several tasty fillings to chose from. This is a true Austin tradition. I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich for lunch, which never fails to satisfy my lunch cravings. I'm talking warm toasted buns here!
The older gentleman at the counter has very high energy ,very friendly and comical.He's a keeper everyone working was kind as well.food was great .highly recommend
Understaffed, slow service. We waited over 30 minutes to get our food, with only 20 patrons in the restaurant. Kitchen is an absolute mess. Find a different schlotskys
It's old dusty inside near meal prep. Food prep equipment was stored and pulled for use from a gross alcove directly visible from the drive in window.
The original sandwich is great but other foods like salads, soups, cinnamon rolls were mediocre. Very friendly service but takes forever to get your order and twice it was wrong.
For awhile they were using green bell peppers in place of roasted red peppers. This wouldn't have been that big of a deal if they weren't cut into giant chunks like they had an 8-year-old cutting produce. Schlotzsky's has the best fiesta chicken though!
Food is good but the place looks like the food safety organization would have a feild day.

Consistently slow and will always overcharge but the sandwichs are good
30 minute wait at the drive-thru and the order was wrong missing half the order. Went back in and it looked like a staff conference was needed to figure it out. Next the drinks tasted really funny, like not sweet and couldn't tell the diet Dr. Pepper from the diet Coke.
I saw the other recent reviews and the owners responses either giving excuses or telling his customers they are wrong. Owner; your store is in trouble, it needs help or people will stop going there. Sort it out, there shouldn't be a bad Schlotzkys in Austin.

The food was alright but not as good as the Schlotzsky's I grew up with. I used to get the Wisconsin cheese soup with my sandwich all the time but sadly that's gone too.

Wow complete difference when we came during lunch vs dinner.
Lunch:The cashier was EXTREMELY rude and made everything seem like a chore why offer then make a face when I say yes. Then when our food came the 2/3 of the orders were wrong we paid for extra meat and it was missing we ordered a turkey bacon club and only got turkey had veggies that we specifically asked not be included.
Dinner: staff is extremely nice and have yet to have issues with our meal.
In short 5 s are for dinner no for lunch
Schlotzsky's is always delicious they're still a little pricey these days then I guess you get what you pay for

Probably the slowest Schlotzsky's of all time. Not sure why this branch is so much slower than the others. Still good food, just don't come if you're in a hurry.
OUT of pizza really every time I come here out of something besides the long go to headquarter location on S Lamar fast service have every thing you want hope they close this Congress rat hole location soon

Update: now that I have read some of the responses to these reviews from what I m assuming is the GM of this location, I ll never come here again. You re really making excuses of why your service is so bad instead of handling issues like a professional?!? Ha! What a joke! I can get over a bad experience but if the issue of bad service is systemic from the top down, I can t overlook that. Good luck with this location.

I got the wrong size sandwich. I asked for a medium size and got a regular.

The drive thru is sooo long as I'm typing this in the drive thru.
We literally waited for 30 minutes for our order and when we got it, it was cold. The only saving grace was their very polite cashier.
Can't say enough of this location's food and service! Schlotsky's has a great variety to choose from on their menu. We love their soups...quart size!

I ordered two sandwiches, two macs and a couple cinnabons from this location. I received the cinnabons right away. The food took just under 40 minutes. 40 minutes for fast food.....
At one point I asked for a refund and the manager Joann scoffed saying, "now you want a refund when your food is almost up?" She told me the wait was my fault for ordering a lot of food and that there were people in line before me. I watched every single person that ordered after me get their orders before me. Rather than apologizing, Joann tried to argue why it was my fault and not hers. When I realized how long my food was taking, I watched the staff. They looked like they did not know what they were doing and Joann would look at what the staff was doing, maybe ring up an order but ultimately disappear to ignore the kitchen chaos.
The straw that broke the camels back was the sloppiness and inconsistency of the food. I had 2 brisket macs. One was dry with a bunch of meat and seasonings, the other was wet with almost no meat. (See the pictures attached) The packaging leaked all over my car. The food was all cold when I returned to my house less than a mile down the road.
There were so many failures at this store. Other guests were upset about the long wait for fast food as well. Joann should definitely find a non supervisory job outside of the service industry where she does not have to worry about being responsible or accountable.
This location is close and convenient and I dropped a good 50 bucks on horrible service and wildly sub par food. This location is franchise and I will absolutely never return here so long as management is the same. I was planning on using this location for catering when some family come in to town at the begining of May.....not going to happen! Not a chance!

I like Schlotzsky's, but the person I talked to regarding a call-in catering order wasn't listening well to the details behind placing my catering order. I had to repeat and explain - it was a little frustrating. Great sandwiches though!
Wow ! Just reading the sarcastic remarks of the manager responding to these reviews is blowing my mind ! She would basically make herself look a lot more professional by not even responding at all to the negative comments. Instead she has a smart ass answer to everyone! She must not have to respond to anyone at her corporate office. Or if they are reading her remarks what must they think of her?
If you go for the sandwich, do it. Dont give in on those sliders . Lets just say they look better on pictures. For the most part the deluxe original is always delicious!
Omg i had to opportunity to enjoy a great lunch with my 82 year young aunt she truly loves Schllotzsky's and to hear her joy to order her meal was priceless i love her
