The classes, equipment, pool, and staff are great. It is very clean and spacious. This is by far one of the best YMCA or gym that I have used. I am DoD and this YMCA is far better than most of ours and we have some really state of the art gyms. The attention to details is really noticeable; great job and keep up the quality!!

The Schertz Family YMCA is amazing. Quite possibly the best experience ever. They serve up monster gainz and as an added bonus, I get my temperature checked daily. Just yesterday a super helpful lady associate helped me out from under a massive bench press I went to failure on. Make sure you lock the door when you go in the family restroom. Dont want any surprises. :)

And...the splash pad is open via appointments! Woot

It's too far away. They did not make it convenient. YMCA centers vary on quality based on nearby residents. The one up north is way more upgraded, modern and fancy compared to Schertz, and Schertz is way better compared to Walzem. It's difficult not to call out discrimination based on income since such a thing does not exist. I strongly recommend people to not invest their money into it unless they live close to the facility and it offers classes with quality instructors that are worth it.

Very family orientated place. You can workout while knowing the kids are safe, and the staff is very helpful

Kimberly, Kali, wonderful staff and personal trainers are amazing. We have been coming here for about 3 years and absolutely love the everyone here. This is truly a real Christian community and we are very blessed to be a part of the YMCA family.

Everything about the Schertz "Y" is great, except, little kids running around unsupervised. I also don't think banging the weights on the floor is necessary. Floor damage may be very costly, .. soon.

Schertz YMCA is an amazing resource in our community. My son has the greatest swim instructors and the events they organize (Swim and S mores) are super fun!

I was here with my friend (we are both old enough to be here by ourselves) and the staff was very rude to us. They tried to tell us that we clearly had not been to orientation and kicked us off of the floor while yelling at us to get completely off as we were on our way off of it. Horrible staff. It was only one person. The rest of the staff were pretty nice. Great place to work out just watch out for the staff who are going to be rude.

Very clean facility, lots of programs to offer, and great view of the outdoors. This YMCA has a Natatorium, Library and Park all in one area!

Been going to the gym here quite a while. I enjoy it and everyone is cool. Staff included. My kids also swim and play basketball here.

Kids had a blast in the kids water plat area! Can't wait to start working out here!

The kids are always engaged in an activity, and have plenty of outdoor activities. The staff is always professional and kind. The staff is always smiling and I ve never seen them yelling at the kids. They will always let you know about upcoming activities, and willing to communicate with the parents. The hours of drop off and pick up are excellent. Overall I do recommend them. The only down fall they don t supply lunch, but their are plenty of snacks!

the fact the basketball court is almost never open to the public at a reasonable time is beyond annoying, i pay my membership fee and i should be able to play basketball whenever i feel. It isn t fair that teams use the facility that I pay for as their place to practice. Please only make practice s half court or much shorter because the court opening at 8:30 pm on school nights isn t working at all.

I've worked out in all sorts of aerobics classes and Step is one of my favorites. Dana's Wednesday evening class is great! I always leave feeling like I got a good workout.

Nice clean facilities, friendly staff, and I love the little movie room area where you can run while watching a movie.

Love it here. My kids love all the activities and we love the gym. Love ActivTrax. The pool is great too.

I love the childcare here. The staff is great and my kids have a great time while we work out. Only thing that ever annoys me is sometimes there are way too many people and literally every treadmill is taken.

The new pool is amazing. I'm used to 25 or 50 meter pools so I found it odd that it's 25 yards but Texas always does things their way. Having said that, I've never swam in a waveless pool and I am so impressed that we've got such an advanced and beautiful facility.

Great community for working out body, mind, and spirit!

Wonderful center. I take the water exercise classes and love the security, attention to safety, and instructors. It is wonderful to have a facility like this close to home.

I am a regular and love this place. The classes are awesome and the childcare is actually something wonderful. The men and women are very accommodating and helpful. I especially love that they take the toddlers to play outside on the splashpad with toys. Worth the $91/month.

Everything is good ,except that on the weekends they close earlier then they wood a week day. Doesnt make sense to me.

Love this gym and it s inclusivity. The staff is very friendly and well-informed.

I tried the Body Flow class, it was Awesome! It is on Saturdays at 11am.

The after school and summer programs are very affordable and the staff get to know the kids and parents well.

Love to come here in the evening to unwind. My husband spends time doing laps in their indoor pool and I use the elliptical in their movie room

This is a good Y location and my kids enjoy going into the childcare area. They have some good sports programs, like soccer, but some of the seasons could be better organized. There's a splash pad for the kids and a swimming pool is under construction. The splash pad is awesome for those really hot summer days.

Love it! Plenty to do for the whole family! Swimming facility is amazing. Guards are always attentive and very friendly.

Clean place. But there a lack of free weights and equipment here for a workout.

Great place for families with them watching your little ones for up to 2 hours while you workout. They don't get the 5 stars because of 2 main reasons. First they dont have enough machines so when its busy you find yourself waiting since they just have one of the resistance training machines. Secondly they have weird weekend hours.

This place is absolutely great! That staff is very welcoming and everyone s that is need for a healthy lifestyle is there. The indoor pool, splash pad, child day care, and multiple free classes have our family excited to go here!

Excellent establishment if not a bit pricey. Wish I could afford to maintain a membership here.

Class schedule is pretty good. It s just so crowded. My wife and I are really hoping that the new location coming to cibolo will include studio rooms for more classes so that hopefully some of the traffic from schertz can go there to keep it from becoming impossible to make it into any classes after 5am.

Great place but the showers have been out of service for awhile when I called to ask when would they be open the first desk clerk rudely told me didn t anything a manager would be there if I wanted to talk

They offer discounted rates if you reside in Schertz. They offer so many programs to join, the possibilities are endless!

Great pool, good mix of equipment, clean and great staff

Went for volleyball game and game started but staff let a few boys play basketball on the side until a person yelled at her to get the boys off the court as all most hit two girls one with ball and ran in path of another. This often happens and I really dislike going to this facility. Some folks think they can do as they please.

First time here, but staff was EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS and went out of their way to help with even my smallest requests. Lauren was the est of them all. Give her a raise and a promotion. Look forward to visiting your establishment again soon and also hope that Lauren is there to help, if not and the rest of your staff has been trained as Lauren has then I'll no doubt has a very pleasant and satisfying experience.

Nice Y. The location does get really busy at times but it is always clean.

Membership includes free classes to zumba, badypump, bodycombat, spin class etc. I really like this place. Also very friendly staff. My favorite is being able to use the app ActiveTrax that the staff set up for me based on my need. It shows you how many reps you need of which equipment. It even has a video if you aren't sure how to do it. Very useful!

Needs better seating options for youth basketball games

The pool was clean. The life guards attentive to their jobs. (I've seen some that are so busy flirting to do their job, not here!!!)The water was very nice, not to hot, not to cold, just right. Ha!!

I love the community spirit and children first philosophy.

That there is such a huge variety of choices; and what I REALLY love the most is that APP! That has been the sole reason that my wife and I have been able to be consistent with our workouts and that we have been seeing great results from them.

I enjoy the night Zumba classes as does everyone else. It gets a little too crowded on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The room gets really hot even with the fans circulating.

Great pool. Wish they had a racquetball court like the thousand oaks location. Like most gyms going anytime after 5 can be a bit of a challenge to get much done due to being so crowded

The Y is family friendly, clean, fun. The instructors are passionate, and the staff is remarkable. The fitness classes are great and so is the indoor pool.

Honest review.... First cost, 90 a month for my girl, son and myself. It's not bad at all with free childcare. I've been a member for 1 week and love it so far. The hours are great from Mon-Fri as I workout in the morning. Sat open at 7 is terrible as I have to be at work at 945. Sunday I used to love working out but they don't open till 1. This gym has Olympic benches, squat racks, Olympic bars for curling and enough to grow and get big. So the review further below for not enough weights is bs. Indoor hearted pool, free classes, movie bike room, spin class and splash pad for kids. This gym is awesome and I highly recommend. I do not talk to the staff yet so we'll see.

Schertz YMCA is excellent for senior citizens they offering silver sneaker program an array of other activities like Zumba water Zumba chair yogaeven if you're not a senior citizen this is the place you want to go nice clean friendly environment

A great program - and a great chance for the kids to get to spend some time outside and playing after a long day of school. Kids NEED playtime, and YMCA give my daughter that chance. She loves going to YMCA after school care!

Our family loves simming any time of the year. The exercise equipment is great for keeping us fit.

I had my 4 and 6 yr old Grandsons in swimming lessons and ninja camp. They both learned a lot at swimming lessons and enjoyed ninja camp.

Very family friendly. Excellent staff and options for working out.
