I went to Scheels specifically to buy a good pair of running shoes. I'm a novice and just wanted to try on every possibility and buy the best ones for me. I also went to Dick's shortly after for the same purpose. My experience with Scheels was much better - the sales guys were very helpful and had some knowledge about the shoes and what I might like. I was surprised to find out you can try them out and return them, at anytime after you buy them. At Dick's the sales guys were basically there to get my shoes for me to try on. That's it. They seemed to have no knowledge of the products and weren't umfamiliar with their inventory - they had one pair they said they didn't have. I'd say the selection is comparable in both stores, but I would definitely choose Scheels is running shoes is what you're looking for.

Had my online order ready when I got there! Very friendly staff! They even honored internet sales price! Have never heard of them before today, but now want to go back and see all of it! Great experience!

So much fun!!! There are all kinds of things to look at! From the taxidermy to all the sporting goods. We stopped in from Minnestoa and had a good time! They have a ferris wheel, mini bowling, all kinds of games, a cafe and every kind of sporting good you could think of!

Dave Nicholson helped me over the summer with some camping supplies I needed for a trip. He was so incredibly helpful and kind, the service he provided couldn't have been better.

Shoe dept worker was on the ball, helping many customers and following up with others browsing through. Every employee i saw through my shopping asked if i needed help with anything! Great experience espeically since i was topeka!

I love this place! Staff here is amazing I find everything I need here! I recommend.

They need to get their ends caps in order, grabbed a Plano tackle box that was on sale for 19.99 and rung up 24.99. Cashier called that department and never even bothered to go check the end cap, asked if I could take a picture of the end cap and return to check out. Not impressed.

Overpriced merchandise you can get anywhere else much cheaper...so why bother going there.

Scheels is an amazing store! Customer service is the best! We had a wonderful time walking around and enjoying the store! Keep up the good work!

Love this store for many reasons, including the large variety of products, the staff that is always available to help with any need you may have, the fun atmosphere, and the delicious coffee and food at Ginna's cafe.

I like to shop for clothing and shoes here. Women s shoe sizes in 13. Many varieties. Fishing supplies and hunting supplies are plentiful.

Very cool place, right up there with quality products and pricing comparable with the other major outdoor stores. Loved the history outside with a couple of the statues.

Fun sporting goods store. Feels like a combination of Cabella s and Dicks sporting goods in one.
They have all the brands and tons of stuff to check out.

Scheels is a great place to get anything sports related and they have normal clothing as well. Their selection is second to none and if you search their sales are great. They also have extremely nice staff who are very helpful and will match competitor prices, discounts, and coupons. It is also nice that they support many local companies by having their merchandise in store.

A great place to shop, try good food or just experience. Went with my mom and brother and had a blast.

You might look at this place and think, O great, another big box store, but the people here are very knowledgable about the products they sell and are helpful and caring as well.

We bought a Canoe there went in to buy a kayak but the guy pushed their last Canoe when we got in the water 20 minutes later my chair broke and a speed boat went by and at tipped us and everything we owned was in the safe in the consul and all of it fell to the bottom of the floor we went back and hired a professional diver to recover things and he could not findanything on the weekend manager who has was excellent exchanged the Canoe for kayak we were very happy until we've used the Canoe the 2nd day and it tipped again and my boyfriend had to go to the emergency Room and rushed over the KU med because of hypothermia and other issues they said they would not replace anything we lost and I talked to the main manager and he hung up on me very very very poor leadership other than the weekend manager.

This is my favorite store !!!! Absolutely something for everyone.The customer service is amazing always there to help!!!! It is such a blast when we take the grandkids shopping plus the Ferris wheel and games an event always . They carry nice quality name brand clothing and shoes .I also love the Aquarium

Fun place! Rode the ferris wheel, shoot some stuff and had to buy some great clothes on sale.

Great store with an indoor ferris wheel and kids play place. Fun to shop around with lots of the type of things you would expect at Cabela's or bass pro in addition to all the sporting goods. It seemed somewhat pricey but much of their goods are competitive.

Wonderful help from the more than friendly staff. I could spend a lot of time and money in this place. Ever sporting good you need and more in one place.

Ryan Casey was an amazing help! Went in looking for a treadmill and he was super polite from the moment he came over to greet us. Stayed with us the entire time he was shopping and even carried our treadmill mat from upstairs to the delivery station to the check out counter. He made casual conversation that wasn't awkward at all, what so ever. This guy definitely deserves a raise for the amazing customer service he provided. Thank you so much, Ryan!!

I know it's a complicated topic, but they have a lot of signage saying that masks are required, but I spoke to a manager and they ignore everyone who is ignoring it. They don't even ask them to leave or put a mask on. Not a fan of that.

Nice people had alot stuff disappointed they don't have military discount even for disable vets sad Cabela's does so does Bass pro

Don't come in here hungry, you need your energy to get around this mammoth store with everything you can think of for the sporting life. If you do you get hungry...go to the cafe in back BEHIND THE FERRIS WHEEL!

Ordered some hunting supplies online. Had to go inside to pick them up. Everyone working there was nice enough but not a single employee wore a mask or used sanitizer on their hands while touching and unpacking the equipment I bought. They also had me use a small laptop that was visibly dirty and had not been disinfected after the person that used it before. Just overall poor business operations in the midst of a pandemic.

Came for a snack, got a new hat and golf glove. Love this place!

Fun place to shop around, but don t plan to be allowed to try something out before buying it. My friend and I went here to purchase a scooter and they had them on display, clearly used and easily accessible so we figured we could try them out before purchasing. That s was until a manager came up and treated us like children. They lost a $500 sale from that.

Although the prices are a little higher, my kids like going to this store which makes everything easier!

Let me tell you why I love this place.... It's the customer service. Yes, they tend to be a little over priced, but I have yet to not have them price match just about anything I found online. And to make it even better, then never hassle you or make you feel bad for price matching. They just do it with a smile. Another awesome point worth mentioning is their staff are super helpful and not overbearing like some other stores. The experience alone is worth the trip. FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE MODEL!

Great all around service in every department. If they do not have what you want. They will look it up and find it for you. A+++++++ all around.

Scheel's is much more than a sporting goods store, there's an ambience that conveys welcoming and transcends typical paid and forced customer service. Detail is everything and they go the extra mile. Be sure to stop by Ginna's Cafe and get the Wildberry sandwich where you will be helped and served by their amazingly friendly staff.

I was there with my two grandsons and husband. My 3 year old went on the ferris wheel twice and played in the playground area. We had lunch in the cafe and all the workers were super friendly and helpful

In my experience the selection here is better than any other sporting goods store in Kansas city.

Amazing place. Fun to shop at and assistants are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The place itself is interesting with bronze figures of famous people outside.

Always helpful staff and lots of things to look at. I recommend stopping by for anyone that travels into town.

Ordered online and it was ready in 15 minutes. Walked right in and had no problems. Fun place for the kids with a ferris wheel and a saltwater aquarium that goes over your head. Today a scuba diver was in there cleaning the tank. Large selection of all sports and clothing

They have everything from every team alot of fun things to do like a Ferris wheel mini bowling virtual baseball and a cute little cafe

It was an awesome store. Loved the aquarium arch and happened to be there while a diver was inside cleaning it. Very cool. The kids loved the ferris wheel and the picture booths. I was a little confused though because I felt like I was at PetSmart with all the people and their dogs. Leashed or not....it isnt't a pet store...or at least I didn't think it was when we looked it up online. While we were there I saw three different people walking around with their dogs and two were hyper pit bulls. What? Why? Sorry...not a big fan of dogs walking around a store with me and my family.

One of the best family friendly places in overland Park. Don't miss the Ferris wheel and the artificial jungle.

Good sporting goods store with a friggin Ferris wheel! Fish tank archway welcomes you upon entering. Restaurant food isn't half bad either.

If your going to a giant box it might asvwell be fun and expensive!

I would like to report your sales person named Jim Walter who was very rude and made me feel like im wasting his time or not good enough to have him try and work with me to find what I wanted.
When we were trying to get some information on different guns and what are available and if we can still order or get the one we want, He was very rude and hard to talk to(in a demeaning manner like we were wasting his time by not able to describe our question clearly or the exact make and model of the gun we were looking for)
when we had ask about what are available he made no effort to look the information up and just told us he knows everything yet when we tried to pick an item out he was proven wrong and despite that refused to check his device.
We have tried to get another sales person to help later but he told them that he was handling it. While we were making this purchase the casher was very busy with multiple orders yet Jim would not help us make the process faster by giving us the paper work when we were done with the electronic one.(making the casher do them one by one)

The customer service was friendly and helpful. Tom was really knowledgeable and helped point out various options. Working with him almost felt like having a friend on the inside. There was a good variety of items in the sections we visited. Prices seemed to be fairly even with market standards. I loved the fish tank you see as soon as you walk inside the store, just beyond the cash registers. When we entered, there was a diver inside one of the tanks. He posed for pictures that customers wanted. We had an enjoyable shopping trip.

Great place to walk around with the kids, plus do a little shopping!

They went above and beyond what was expected! I purchased a ladder stand and when I got it home for assembly it was discovered that the pins and bolts were missing. I called them spoke to just a couple people and the issue was resolved so quickly and smoothly. I believe the individual I spoke with that solved the problem was Braydon (Brandon, something along those lines). The whole store is always so friendly and knowledgeable. My family will definitely continue to support scheels!

Went here to get my girlfriend birkenstocks and the cashier pointed me to the right direction and salesman was very helpful. Quick visit and will be going back.

Love this place. Certainly better than Bass Pro and Cabelas. A bit like Dick's merged with Cabelas. Covers more sports. Prices are decent for the most part. Good sales. Staff friendly and helpful.
They can go ahead and shut down the REI next door, it is now even more useless than it was before.

This was my first time visiting a Scheels. I was blown away. The store is huge! Took a few minutes just to walk around and check it all out. The staff was very helpful when I had an issue finding what I came in for and the prices were pretty good. Will definitely be going back!
