I just came back from La Scaroetta Trattoria and I must write how much my friends and I have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Not only were the dishes really authentic, very well home-cooked dishes but more importantly extremely delicious.
The reasons why we have given the much admired La Scarpetta Trattoria the full 5 stars was the attentive service without being intrusive.
I wanted to meet the chef for my favourite dish, zampone (pig trotter stuffed with pancetta) was cooked perfectly with authentic ingredients and each ingredient does not over-power the others.
I salute Andrea the young talented and friendly chef. This is not an easy dish to cook and was timed perfectly. I could see other customers eating it as well.
We also have maltagliati all'ossobuco and calamari fritti. The homemade pasts in tich beef shin and vegetable sauce was very elegant in taste but yet complex in layers of flavours between sheets of pasta.
The calamari was very fresh and the light batter was light and crisp.
My friends who took me here are excellent cooks themselves and often cook for several groups of friends who enjoy food and wines.
That was our main reason to go to different unique restaurants to experience the wonderful culinary delights.
We were not dissppointed tonight for sure. What made the dining experience so enjoyable was friendly service from Daniel, the part-owner and the beautiful and knowledgeable staff.

The pasta was beautiful. Cant be faulted. Tried a couple of dishes and all were as i expected. Just bloody great make sure you book tho.

The crab linguine was bland and lacked seasoning and herbs. The Angus beef was amazing and the gorgonzola sauce was very tasty. The tiramisu was ok but needed more of the liquor taste that traditional tiramisu has. Could not fault the wait staff and the atmosphere was beautiful.

Wow. I don't normally leave reviews but this place has forced me into action. The tagliatelle salsiccia e funghi was flawless. And the canolli for dessert finished all too soon. Maybe I'll stay an extra night in Margaret River !!

THE BEST customer service in Margaret River for fine italian dining! On top of that they delivered such a quality pasta and cocktails. We went there on Sunday and unfortunately we didnt get the name of the lady that served us, but we noticed she had a racoon tattoo. She was so warm, friendly , attentive, and really good at listening to us, she was patient and gave us the appropriate time to order our food and drinks. She regularly checked on us to make sure everything was up to standard which was nice. The ambience and atmosphere of this place is truly amazing and authentic. Will definitely be back on our next trip and highly recommend this place!

Wait staff friendly. Food was fresh and delicious. Crab meat got lost in the heavy sauce on the linguini. Pasta special dish of the day was nice. Atmosphere in the glass walled verandah was cosy and romantic enough. Recommended

The food is good but the service takes for ever even midweek.

I had the seafood pasta, it was pretty good. 4 stars for the food and nice atmosphere. I think more effort in service can get 5 stars. It's a simple and nice restaurant with lots of wood and natural elements, I like the style of the place and convenient.

My partner and I walked in at 4:40pm and were promptly seated despite being early, luckily avoiding their busier period. I ordered the tagliatelle salsiccia e funghi with a shirley temple (non-alcoholic) whilst my partner orderred the casarecce alla genovese with a glass of the house chardonnay, followed by a serving of tiramisu for desert. The waiter was fun and endearing in having my partner try and pronounce the dish she was ordering, and was very pleasant to interact with before and after our meal.

Both pasta dishes arrived surprisingly quickly and were cooked to perfection, offering fantastic flavour and texture. My partner's beef was tender and juicy, whilst the cream sauce of my dish was rich and flavourful. The hand-made pasta was stunningly crafted and paired perfectly with our dishes.

The house chardonnay was - for our lack of wine knowledge - sweet, acidic and perfectly paired to our meals. It cut through the richness of my cream sauce and worked very well with the white wine notes in my partners dish. The shirley temple was well balanced and a nice, light accompaniment to my meal.

The tiramisu was small but packed a lot of flavour and was sweeter than I prefer, but perfect for my partner. The coffee and liquor used were clearly of high quality, bringing a depth and further richness to the dish where the cream was rather simple.

As for the vibe, the restaurant had a cosy, welcoming atmosphere that used a classic-cottage layout to it's advantage, and the staff were welcoming, polite and fun. My partner was nervous given that she does not have much experience in 'fancier' restaurants (read $$) but the staff made the experience wonderful.

I would rate the prices of this establishment to be mid-to-high ($30-$40 for a main meal), but absolutely worth the cost. We could not be happier with the experience.

What a delightful experience. I walked in and was pleasantly delighted. Sharp service and was welcomed to a 50% full venue. I asked about the pasta cooked and prepared in a paper (the seafood vongole) Even though they no longer served it, they got the chef to prepare it. Whao. Whao. Amazing and perfectly cooked. So authentic.

Absolutely FANTASTIC pasta and Gnocchi! Don t bother having Italian anywhere else in Margs. Helen, our waitress was absolutely delightful and an asset to the restaurant with her friendly & warm manner. 100% recommend.

Authentic Italian food thats worth every mouthful. Really enjoyed the food and vino, staff were excellent, pay to book in advance.

The moment you walk in its just a beautiful homey decor, the staff are very friendly and very quick service, the food was absolutely amazing, i had the tagitelli and was not disappointed, a large serve too fill you up, will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much guys!

Great staffs, beautiful place to have dinner.
But only 2 stars for the food, I order the pasta filling with duck but wasn't have much meat inside at all, the whole time was just eating pasta dough and red wine sauce. Quite disappoint consider with the value.

5 out of 5 for food. Tonight service a little slow but other reviews on here suggest that is not a common experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The service was fast and friendly. The venue was beautiful. Hubby had the stuffed pig trotter and seriously HAS NOT stopped talking about it since!! As a foodie myself, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant. Next time we're in Margs we're going back. Not often I find a place where I'm not thinking I could've done it better myself but this was one of those times.

Deliciously creative modern Italian cuisine. Set in a romantic windowed veranda and rustic dining room. Attentive, friendly service. Deserts a must.

The homemade pasta was so goooood! So creamy and delicious!! It's really authentic! It feels like when I was in Italy. Definitely should try their Rum&Raisin icecream which served with caramel and cake! Love the ambience ~ little Italy

Amazing genuine Italian food, served in ample portions by attentive people in a great atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. It simply doesn t get any better unless you (and you can t due to Covid) are in Italy, Bellissimo!

Pizzaca was great, good diversity in the menu and great Italian flavours. Nicely presented and the decor and vibe was excellent.

With a homely atmosphere and friendly wait staff, first impressions had won me over. The food was delicious and with wines from the local region to match you couldn't ask for more. With a large selection of daily specials made with fresh produce I can't recommend this place enough. A perfect place for a family or for a couple for date night. I'll definitely be visiting again on my trip down to Margaret River!

The service was excellent. Some of the food needed more seasoning, but the Panacotta was delicious and the sausage pasta was really good as well. Just be aware, there's limited parking space on the premises. We might come back when we visit down south to try other menu.

Very authentic and delicious Italian food. Always Excellent.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants. My partner and I didn't plan to eat there. But, when we were driving around, we found this lovely place. So, we decided to try. And woww, the food was amazing. The staff were so nice to us. They served us like we are their friends visiting their home. The price was reasonable. In the end, we ended our Margaret River trip with a memorable dinner.

Trendy Italian restaurant, located in Margaret River...Gorgeous setting in a turn of the century farmhouse...you'll see it just as you cross the Margaret River bridge. We especially enjoyed the entrees and the pleasant service.

Great Italian food, very authentic though the menu is not very large. Service was excellent and the ambience was very costly. Bookings are very easily made online and they confirm it via email and phone.

Service was fantastic... ordered three course meal left and had to order pizza to fill up. Nice food but no no no where enough food for price of $180.00

After disappointment two nights in a row in Margaret River, we came across this amazing restaurant. The food was great (wish they had bigger menu for pasta though) and the service was top notch. Only complaint was our food took 35min to come and the place was only about 70% capacity. The price was reasonable and didn't get charged 15% holiday surcharge even though it was Sunday night. Would definitely visit again next time we're in town

If visiting Margaret river this place needs to be the top of your list to dine at, wonderful foods, beautifully cooked, attentive staff, great wine list, could not recommend any higher, a gem of a place!!

Visiting Margaret River for the weekend. Craving pasta the whole way from Perth. Was not disappointed. Simple but delicious garlic bread, great flavours in the spinach and ricotta ravioli and the tortellini. Highly recommend

A most enjoyable night with excellent food and good atmosphere.

Lovely atmosphere. The food was so fresh and cooked to perfection. It has to be one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to. Honestly I would recommend this place and will return on my next trip to Margaret River.

Really great food, the lightest pasta, home made from just eggs and flour, great flavours

Asked for no fish on a pizza that only had fish as the meat making it vegetarian. Only I received a fish pizza and was told in no uncertain terms to order a vegetarian one next time or continue eating fish as a vegetarian. Pizza without this fact was not worth ordering. My mate had a margarita and it was bland and very soggy. Never had a pizza leak so much liquid before. Maybe give this a miss and try dominos down the road.
