I just came back from La Scaroetta Trattoria and I must write how much my friends and I have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Not only were the dishes really authentic, very well home-cooked dishes but more importantly extremely delicious.
The reasons why we have given the much admired La Scarpetta Trattoria the full 5 stars was the attentive service without being intrusive.
I wanted to meet the chef for my favourite dish, zampone (pig trotter stuffed with pancetta) was cooked perfectly with authentic ingredients and each ingredient does not over-power the others.
I salute Andrea the young talented and friendly chef. This is not an easy dish to cook and was timed perfectly. I could see other customers eating it as well.
We also have maltagliati all'ossobuco and calamari fritti. The homemade pasts in tich beef shin and vegetable sauce was very elegant in taste but yet complex in layers of flavours between sheets of pasta.
The calamari was very fresh and the light batter was light and crisp.
My friends who took me here are excellent cooks themselves and often cook for several groups of friends who enjoy food and wines.
That was our main reason to go to different unique restaurants to experience the wonderful culinary delights.
We were not dissppointed tonight for sure. What made the dining experience so enjoyable was friendly service from Daniel, the part-owner and the beautiful and knowledgeable staff.
