A beautiful building, built in the 70s of the 19th century by the architect Manfred Zemper, whose father, Gottfried Zemper built the old theater building, destroyed by fire. Replaced by a burnt theater, built in the 30s of the same 19th century.
The new building was a model for architects Fellner and Gelmer in creating the Odessa Opera project.
Both theaters have a unique foyer shape, covering the auditorium and the corresponding layout of the entire building.

Wonderful opera in baroque style with great events. It's not a brewery;).
Unfortunately, in addition to its fantastic appearance, the opera does not have the best sound quality. Even in the third row, not everything could be heard well during the operetta of Fledermaus .

The building, the performance (The Nutcracker), the service, all round.
Thank you.

The Semperoper in Dresden is simply one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world.
I could get lost in the small elements of the decoration every time during the breaks.
Perfect sound, no matter where you sit.
So if you have the opportunity to see something there, you should definitely use it.

Dresden - my love. January 1945 brought annihilation from the air. The enormity of the damage was so great that the restoration of its former glory continues until today. Photos from several decades ago with grazing sheep on the ruins of the most famous monuments move everyone. Fortunately, this is history and you can admire what was rebuilt with great care. One of such facilities is the Opera House. Located on the banks of the Nysa River, it constantly pays attention to the water level. Such a difficult neighborhood.

Opera fans from near and far should plan a visit to the Semperoper when they are in Dresden. All other tourists should also see the house from the inside. It is worth it even if there is no performance.

Good tours during the holiday season, also suitable for wheelchair users. Too bad I find that you can not buy postcards from the interior painting, if you do not want to spend extra 3 euros for the photo permission. Therefore 4 stars.

Beautiful opera in the heart of the baroque old town of Dresden ... The Semperbau blends in beautifully with the scenery between Zwinger, Schloss and Theaterplatz. What is impressive from the outside, almost takes your breath away from inside ... Wonderfully restored, the opera captivates with its glamorous performance space, the elaborate stage curtain and the huge chandelier. If one is not allowed to listen to a performance in the opera (higher price segment), one should look at the opera at least during a guided tour. Highly Recommended.

Great building from the outside and especially right inside. I'm not usually a fan of guides, where you hustle behind the screen, but here the guidance is highly recommended, there is a lot of curious insider information, e.g. to the fake marble and the clock over the stage.

A very beautiful house of cultural and historical value. The design is already outstanding and worth seeing for an opera.
It's a shame that there are no special tours behind the scenes - technology, stage, cloakrooms. That is exactly what makes me curious ... The tour operator should go there and allow selected special tours in small groups. In Vienna this was granted to me years ago. I am sure that there are enough interesting people - with a helmet and safe footwear, it is safe to do!
I'm happy to pay more for that!
It is worth a try and would be a real highlight!

Imposing and very beautiful!

Imposing and very beautiful!
I came to enjoy a professional tour of the Semperoper. Photos are allowed after the purchase of a photo license, which I find negative and indicates greed for money. As far as I am concerned, such costs can be automatically integrated into the ticket, so that the impression does not arise. Still worth a tour!

This was my first time in the Semperoper. If you see the building from the outside, you can actually be thrilled. Inside very lovingly and magnificently. I recommend everyone take a look at this. The leadership was great. It is lived by the staff.

Certainly one of the most beautiful operas in the world. A tour or even a performance is worthwhile. The guide costs 11 per person and is okay overall, you get a lot to the opera and explained the backgrounds. Staff is well trained and it is professional. The "movie" in the basement was not really worth it, but the rest of the explanations were interesting. Negative we have the extra photo license for 3 felt, because you look at something of course synonymous to take pictures, that's pretty naughty.

The building is simply beautiful, both inside and out. I was allowed to witness a matinee and was disappointed with the programming. I had hoped to hear something more from the current program or something that actually has something directly to do with the opera, but the participants still sang very well. Even if it was not the connection to the Semperoper for me.
