My expectations were higher - Summer night party with my work colleagues, Savoy Grill was the winner due is one of Gordon Ramsay restaurants. I am a fan of Gordon, and he renewed my passion for cooking, so my expectations for this restaurant were higher, following Gordon s standards, and I was a quite disapointed with the service we ve got. Orders for 10 people were taken after 30 minutes, and we needed to wait another 25 minutes before to get the starters. Main courses were served after 35 more minutes without garnish, and sides and sauce were not enough, we needed to order for more. Some steak was perfectly cooked and tasty, however some co-workers said their meat was not though and we needed to send back to the kitchen one dish. Overall we have not left with a good impression.

As you'd hope for, the venue is beautiful and service is generally very good. The fact there is s gluten-free menu is a great thing too. But a few things stop a five -star experience: 1. The bench seats are not that comfortable. 2. The More

This was a memorable experience. The food, service and ambiance was second to non!
We had a Top Table deal and proved to be remarkable value for money - certainly when compared to a similar offer for The Dorchester!

The staff are well co-ordinated and polite. The service is very good. I had Gordan Ramsey's signature dish "steak and ale pudding" it tasted fantastic, the only complaint about it was one part of the pastry was hard, leading to me thinking, it could have been 'microwaved' which is why I only gave it 4 *s.

We made our reservations long ago and were so look...

We made our reservations long ago and were so looking forward to the Beef Wellington. We got it and it was delicious. Unfortunately, our evening was clouded by a very strange waitress. At seating, she was very demonstrative, arms flailing around, and speaking with a strong French accent, that just didn't sound authentic. A bit strange. There was enough of a miscommunication that after ordering her drink, my wife turned to me and asked if she had somehow made the order confusing. TBH, she did order an extra dirty gin martini with extra olives with a Texas accent. So, perfectly willing to overlook this oddity. They serve you as a team, and the next waitress who actually brought the drinks was delightful. The headwaiter stopped by several times and was also excellent.

For appetizers, we ordered caviar and the pate. Both were delicious, but before we were finished with the caviar, the odd waitress swooped in and took only the little toasts for the caviar off the table and whisked them away. Strange. We flagged the headwaiter and asked for more, then saw him having what looked like an intense conversation with the waitress.

Between appetizer and dinner, the odd waitress stopped by again and offered me a wine menu. Quite some time before, the head waiter had given my wine order to the sommelier who brought the bottle, opened it, offered a taste, and sat it on the table to breathe and await dinner. When I advised the odd waitress of this, she just looked shocked, looked down at the open wine bottle, and offered me a taste. I pointed to my wine glass which clearly already still had much of the taste I'd been given in it.

Dinner was served without any drama, just excellent Beef Wellington.

When dessert menus were brought out, we didn't see anything calling to us as there were no chocolate options. We told this waitress that and she brought out some small chocolates, which was very nice.

Overall, a good evening, and we really wanted to relax and just enjoy it, but the experiences with the one waitress was off putting. This is unfortunate as every other staff member we encountered seemed to be on their game and very engaged in providing excellent service. We wondered if she was in training or something. This is probably nothing for you to worry about as I cannot imagine she is still employed there.

The Somelier was excellent. Her wine recommendations matched our dishes perfectly. The wait staff did not rush us out at the end and were cordial throughout. Fhe food was delicious, especially the snail entree. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce and horseradish combination made the Beef Wellington spectacular

Lovely setting, adored the Art Deco! The staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. We got the pre-theatre menu but everything was absolutely delicious and decent portion sizes too. We had our table for three hours and not once did the staff rush us or try and move us on. A great night and would definitely go back!

Reading through these reviews made me chuckle. We had lunch here yesterday and it was wonderful. Rarely do you go back to a restaurant and the food was BETTER than the last time you went. Every part of the meal was perfect from the amuse bouche to the wellington and tart tatin. Lovely recommendation on the wine and flawless service. Perfect for an occasion. Don t believe the begrudgers!

Our evening was ruined! Booked dinner for myself and 11 guests at Savoy Grill for 10pm. We arrived at 9:55 and were told that our table was not ready and would not be ready for some time. We were told to go and have at least 3 cocktails whilst waiting! I said I would be happy to have one but three sounded like quite a wait. She then said it would "hopefully" be no more than 20 minutes. I explained that as it was already a late booking I did not want to eat with a half empty restaurant. We proceeded to the Beaufort bar to start on our cocktails but were refused admission as they were full. We then went to the American Bar and were refused admission as they were too full. When I complained the manager happily told us that it was not their fault as the bar had nothing to do with them. We were not the only guests waiting for dinner and we were all expected to just hang around in the foyer! When we finally did eat the staff were clearly waiting to go home and the restaurant looked deserted by the time we had finished. They ruined our evening. As for the food the steaks were were so tough that they were not eaten. Only the lamb chops and veg food were good. Service was speedy but, like I say, they wanted to get home. The majority of my guests had flown in that night for the family dinner and flew back home the following day. All of that effort and that is the way we were treated. I can see from other reviews that this waiting for a table and not even being allowed admittance to any bar whilst waiting is a common occurrence. They then happily tell you it has nothing to do with then. My husband and I were once fairly regular at the Savoy but that was our very last supper! Don't go there, they do not deserve the custom.

The food was delicious. Was a bit shocked that they tried to cram us into a corner of a table but they sorted it after asking to extend when another table next to us was free. Not sure about the bizarre cutting of the apple pie desert but the fillet steak was perfectly cooked and I couldn't fault anything food wise.
I recommend all of you to eat and experience such a good restaurant...

I treated my husband to dinner for his birthday and I have to say that we experienced a wonderful time. We have never been before, but could not fault the staff or the food. Staff were so friendly and easy to chat to and ask for their advice on the menu and we both found the food we had was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. I would defiantly love to go back and enjoy another wonderful experience. Thank you so very much for making our evening.

Wonderful birthday experience! We visited in July and had the investiture experience. Given the amount of food and alcohol that comes with the menu we thought it was excellent value. The maitre de was brilliant and went out of his way to make us feel special. We were treated to a visit to the kitchen too. It is the place to go for a special occasion!

Very disappointed.

Very disappointed.
Went here on 03.04.2019, the food is good but the service was really bad. Some of he waiters were not careful and a little bit arrogant. One of the waiters did not deliver the plate properly; also, when he poured the water for us, he made a mistake which caused one of us do not have enough water to drink.
These are not big problems, however Savoy Grill is not a cheap restaurant, the service shouldn't be like that.
The only star is for the food, this is the first time I rate one star to a restaurant, but that's how I feel.

Michelin Star level. Above and beyond service. Champagne glasses topped up before they even hit below half. Everysingle bit of care has been taken into consideration from waiting to be seated and given complimentary drinks to having several savoy staff constantly keep the table clean and the meals consistent in their arrival and the removal of empty dishes. It is an experience to say the least an unforgettable one.

Spent a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with our family at the Savoy Grill. The beef Wellingon never disappoints, and the service is just perfect - kind and knowledgeable staff who always make sure you have a wonderful evening. Our only regret: the crepe suzette, a favourite of ours and a staple of the Grill, has been removed from the menu. A real shame, as this was a real highlight to look forward to at the end of our meal. We hope it comes back very soon.

IMPECCABLE service and delicious food!!! THE ABSOLUTE BEST!
Eva, our beautiful and gracious maitre d'hotel, at the very height of the busiest dinner hour, arranged magically for our table for a party of five to be changed to a smaller one that suited us better for conversation. This could not have been easy for her at that particular time, but she did so with enormous grace and good humour.
We enjoyed several bottles of Tignanello, the beef sirloin and cote de boeuf which were tender and filled with flavour, and a grand assortment of vegetables, all SUPERB and served to perfection by an attentive and hospitable staff. We will return soon and often. AAAAA+++++++++

The food at The Grill was exceptional. The service, appalling. Our waiter was incredibly slow, and could not have seemed more disinterested.

In the middle of serving our final course, he served the table next to us and took a photograph for them. I have no issue with that in itself, but I do whilst serving another table. He may do better next time just to tell his table that he really could not care less.

Some remedial training is needed for the waiter. To his credit, the general manager did express disappointment in our experience, and kindly offered a complimentary drink. Sadly, the experience cannot be unseen

Ok so I came for dinner on a Sunday night. Started with a drink in the American bar, I highly recommend if you are ok with spending though I believe it was worth it. Then I had dinner reservation at 7. I opted for the 7 course wine pairing with the taste of the savoy. I loved most of it. The lobster bisque starter was my absolute favourite. My least favourite was the beef wellington, which is sad because that's what they are know for. It was just bland and the mushroom added to flavour and the pastry was overly damp. I also had to wait at one point half an hour in between dishes. It wasnt the end of the world. My absolute favourite thing of the night was the lady Somalia that we had. She was amazing and was just a fun person to have the come to the table once in a while over dinner. While I won't be rushing back to spend 500 pounds for 2 people it was fun.

We had the most amazing time, the food was incredible, the staff lovely. It was a Sunday and so we had smart beef, it was the best smart meal I have ever had, it was so expensive (we had lots of lovely wine) but it's a treat place to go and we enjoyed every mouthful and every second.

The Savoy Grill Lunch

The Savoy Grill Lunch

Friendly welcome and shown right away to a good table with a view of the room. Surprised because I was alone and I expected to be bunged in a corner.

Very high on the "flunkey factor" with numerous staff hovering around but not making eye contact. Keen to sell me water and wine. Had to ask for a separate beer list.

Was very surprised that the multi-national waiting staff did not know such commonly used culinary words such as "vichyssoise" and "duxelles".

It took over an hour for the leek and potato (vichyssoise) soup to appear, and the bread served with it had evidently been sliced at the start of service - this was now 3pm - and had started to dry up at the edges.

I then had a nicely cooked piece of cod, but the sauce it was on had a skin on top from sitting under a heat lamp at the pass for too long.

Sticky toffee pudding was delicious.

Served a freebie plate of petit fours at the end. Very nice.

Apparently the Head Chef has just left, and a new one is due to be transferred from another Ramsay enterprise.

Not a patch on the old Grill Room under Marcus Wareing with its Michelin star. Perhaps Mr. Ramsay should take time off from critiquing pizza and burger joints in the States and check out his own flagship restaurants in England.

One of the nicest meals I have ever had was at his Amaryllis restaurant in Glasgow - now defunct.

Not bad value, but if I was around Covent Garden again with that kind of budget I would go to Clos Maggiore round the corner.

Such a pleasant evening at the Savoy Grill. We had a gift voucher and that didn t change the way we were treated at all. The waiters were so friendly and kind. They looked after our every need and went above and beyond. It was a brilliant experience and I would return again just for the atmosphere and company.

We had the most amazing lunch at the Savoy Grill yesterday for my Mum s 80th birthday. Ciprian put on a brilliant service a treated my Mum like a queen. Then as an added surprise we had a tour around the kitchen. Unfortunately Gordon was there but the Assistant general manager Luigi Battista was a pretty good tour guide. I would like to say thank you to you all for making the day so special.

It was an amazing experience going there and enjoying a night in the Savoy Grill. We had the Taste of Savoy 7 course menu and it was perfect. Every flavor, every bit was perfection. Maybe the only thing to mention is that the omelette Arnold Bennett was a really big portion and because of the intense flavor of it we had to sit for a while to be able to begin with the next course. But overall a massive 5 star. Savoy Grill was our first experience in this category of restaurants and it was worth every penny.

What a great restaurant. Art Deco furnishings, a beautiful reception from the staff, with service that continues to be high quality all the way through. Then of course there is the food. The real star of the show, you won t be disappointed with anything you order. The drinks selection is good, but could be slightly better. Of course I refer to the rum selection here and that s a personal thing. Wines are abundant. Do book, this is one of my fav s in London. Sorry was enjoying the food far too much to take photos.

Great food but not my best beef wellington for sure. Both Las Vegas and Atlantic City would top this one in a heart beat.

My fiance and I had lunch and were dressed rather casual compare to others (jumpers and runners type of thing - what a regular tourist would to be comfortable all day touring). He finished his cola and no one asked for a refill till we finished our food. The red wine jus was poured on our steak when serving at table side. By the time you get to the 2nd piece, the pastry was soggy and drenched in sauce.
