Weisenhoff coffee guys. Firstly the cappuccinos are terrble. Secondly I happened to sit next to the TV on the back wall of the restaurant. One waiter hovered over my shoulder so much so he could watch the soccer that I had to move tables! No sorry or anything. Now he's taken permanent residence Infront of the TV cleaning the tables in slow motion.

Horrible service. Horrible experience.

It was amazing ! A Banting burger with no bun,
Will definitely recommend them to all,

In santon medi clinic, the mother of a 4 month old baby in high care is forced to wear a mask and gloves when visiting BUT the nursing staff who deal with sick kids don t wear masks and gloves??????

All I can say mediclinic sandton..staff are appall...

All I can say mediclinic sandton..staff are appalling..I was first misdiagnosed by a qualified radiographer at said hospital..surgeon did bother to make sure thus I ended up with wat was supposed to be simple inguinal hernia turned out into a removal of growth..without consent..from patient..furthermore I then suffered from terrible low blood pressure an dangerous low potassium..staff are horrible..with very bad attitude towards me as patient.an was hooked up to too many drips etc..to go to toilet on my own..thus bedpan.. especially nursing sisters..they had attitude I was only sent nurse aid for aid.wen requested..food is simply inedible...thank u..never again.an ipaidupfront for vip room.not forvip treatment..but for the spaciousness..its 1 star hospital..except the cleanerstaff

The ward staff are negligent and grossly incompete...

The ward staff are negligent and grossly incompetent. I will make every attempt to avoid Sandton medicIinic and would rather take my chances at a government hospital. After undergoing surgery when I awoke I asked on three occasions for my meds and 3.5 hours later they brought the wrong medication . Later I asked for a pain killer and after 1 hour nothing had arrived . To call oneself a nurse / sister and be so useless is hard to believe. I think mediclinic recruit on personality and not character or competence.

The maternity ward TEAM is excellent!

The maternity ward TEAM is excellent!
The staff are extremely helpful and know what they are doing it's a pleasant experience working with them will definitely make use of the services again.
They are professional go to the extent to make sure that you are taken well care of.
The food is from high quality and always spot on!
BUT!!!
There are people that bothers you the whole time that wants to promote their services (baby photos, physiotherapy, screening, hearing aid, ext!
I would suggest that they put all the services that are available that's not recommended by the doctor on a paper and give the client and then the client hase to select what they are interested in instead of them bordering a person anytime of the day when it suits them.

Wow I don't know where to begin it was very disappointing being told that the hard working securities are losing their jobs because of Their employer was very sad and did not get help from the Mediclinic they were working hard for
. I understand it is business but really the situation in our Country is bad then people lose their jobs it is disappointing

My experience of this hospital was a very positive...

My experience of this hospital was a very positive one. The wards are clean and very comfortable; the staff (for the most part) are jovial, patient and polite; there's a great coffee shop, small chemist and ATM. One word of advice - bring your own headphones.

Mediclinic Sandton has a very special place in my ...

Mediclinic Sandton has a very special place in my heart because all 3 of my children were born here. The hospital is well run and the facilities are maintained to a high standard. The Doctors and other hospital staff members are very competent and really do go out of their way to help make a patient (and their families) feel more comfortable. It is more like a hotel than a hospital. I highly recommend Mediclinic Sandton.

If your medical aid plan is not covered they are worse than shoprite cashiers announcing it to the hospital and reciting that you can't be assisted. You can still be civil and not have human beings leave there feeling upset and more sick than when they Initially walked through the doors. Lack of public service etiquette.

I had a most terrifying experience at the Sandton ...

I had a most terrifying experience at the Sandton Mediclinic recently. My son was admitted there at Section E, Neurosurgical Ward. Some of the staff members were under the impression that they were doing us a favour by attending to the patient (my son) in so much that one sister who was working on day shift on the Wednesday of the 8/11/17 told us that her salary does not come from us. It came to a point that we had to ask for a transfer to Meulmed Mediclinic where we received a complete different service characterised with care and efficiency. When they were preparing for our transfer at Sandton Mediclinic we found out that the results for CT scan could not be found as a result we left without them. I have never seen such inefficiency and chaotic situation in a hospital. To crown it all my son's arm and hand, where they had insrted a drip, was swollen and very painful and he had been telling them about it and the only thing they gave him was a block of ice wrapped in a pillow. There is so much that was wrong in that hospital in so much I shudder to think what would have happened if we had not asked for a transfer. My conclusion regarding that hospital is that it deeply lacks on patient care and service and concentrates on its appearance as if they are in Hollywood movies. Staff members are the image of the hospital, how they treat patients has a bearing on the image of the hospital.

Mediclinic Sandton has a very special place in my heart because all 3 of my children were born here. The hospital is well run and the facilities are maintained to a high standard. The Doctors and other hospital staff members are very competent and really do go out of their way to help make a patient (and their families) feel more comfortable. Hi to everyone !!! If your baby is in need of intensive care, this is where you get the absolute best experience for you and your baby to get through uneasy times. My first baby was admitted here from Benoni as they have everything that is needed. The right specialized doctors, EMT specialist Dr Makepeace Allison, and the care and advise given from nurses that see to your baby as if they were their own. Sister NTEMBO not only made my child feel comfortable and at ease, her wise words and encouragement is priceless. Sr Ntembo you are myself and Nathan s Angel from above. The Fouche family are so greatful to have met you and know you will be famous. We love you you!!!!!!!

Gave Birth there and the gynaecologist who delivered my baby is Dr Gooding has a practice there and I delivered 4 weeks ago by the third day I was walking as if nothing happened, then there is this lovely pediatrician named Dr Goossens I highly recommend these two doctors, then comes The ER my baby was saved by the ER team of nurses and doctors this hospital is honestly the best in the country!!! I highly highly highly recommend it they have the best doctors staff and services.

GENERAL COMMENT:What, in todays open communications world, makes anyone think that doctors are there to help patients? They're there only to serve big-pharm & big brther. Nada other reasons. Best is to find out how your body works & reacts to your habits & environment & act in accordance with what's best for your body. I.e. study! Dr's are for the uneducated who "believe" their advertising. Strange, think you not?

Fast service an friendly customer service especially now with covid.. Sad part is sometimes you get food on times the food takes time very long time to come. The chef his menu or her menu leaves a lot to be desired. Grilled hake was like biltong. The vegetables can be interesting at times.

Weisenhof restaurant on the hospital premises is a definite no no, healthy options are not a choice here and u wait.
Kids enjoyed their waffle and wrap though.


Been admitted many times at this hospital including my husband - have no problem with the staff and the good treatment however my rating for ALL medical practitioners and hospitals are low rated for they are all blood suckers - Don t agree with their high medical rates and greed.

A doctor should make money out of kindness and for the good health of a fellow human not to get rich? And so should the fees of any hospital be.

Great practitioners but krikey moses what an archaic parking payment system! You're supposed to pay cash (that's that paper or metal stuff - anyone remember?) on exit (which I certainly didn't see advertised anywhere on arrival)... So if you don't know this you get to the boom and get turned away if you don't have cash i.e. you have to reverse and go and park again... waaaalk to the main hospital entrance... fiiiind the ATM and draw R50 minimum (if it's working that is!) to then get back in your car and fight with the women at the boom who usually don't have change! And today the ATM wasn't working so the women at the boom directed me to reception to pay... reception redirected me to Management who then stamped my ticket and said I could go for free because they don't take card... Like, get a card machine or Zapper or SOMETHING... we are not living in the dark ages and Sandton Mediclinic isnt exactly in "the sticks" where this kind of backwardness would be more normal My 5-minute visit took me 30 all because of a R6 parking ticket

Thank you to Icu staff. You guys are awesome, and so loving and caring. I watched you everyday for the past maybe 15days in icu. It was not only me but you do hours work so diligently. You guys are so dedicated and committed in making sure we are comfortable and well taken care of. I can honestly say I could have never pulled through without you guys. Words are not enough to say thank you..My angels Keke, Martha,Vusi, Mankeri, Mpumi, Zanele and the most special lady that took care of me most of the time PEARL..you are such a special lady and I hope your awesome work and care does not go unnoticed. To mimmy your smile and your distinct voice made smile, thank you for prayer. And to my darling and most wonderful lady above all Dr Ray, I cannot find words to say how grateful I am for your assistance in helping me step by step all the way. For all my years that I visited hospitals I've never met a doctor like you. You saved my life and brought me back to my kids. I'm doing great everyday. I know you love to do things your way and it is the best way, your way was so accurate, and I trusted you all the way therefore I am where I am today. And also Max and Dino my physio therapists thank you as well for all yourlls help. You guys are awesome and yourll work so well together at this hospital. For our family it was not about the hospital brand .. but the nurses and staff assigned. IE you may get an assigned friendly patient centric medical support individual ... Or somone that just do the job. Some support was great but with others our experience is very neutral

What a good experience and I would like to especia...

What a good experience and I would like to especially thank Sister Lillian, in the orthopedic ward (A), her kindness and care during my stay in hospital. As a patient one often feels vulnerable and afraid. You never know who you may have attending to your needs, how they will treat you or if they even see you as a person or just another number to be hurriedly checked off a list. Your genuine care is rare. Sister you are one in a million and so very appreciated. I'm so glad I'd gotten to see you again the other day.
Otherwise, the hospital itself was good, clean and the nurses generally did their duties when required.

Disgusting that in this day and age Mediclinic Sandton inconveniently force visitors to draw cash from 1 brand of atm only. This with a sick and crying child on my hip for R6!!! When asking the receptionists how much longer we must wait for card or alternative payment methods they say it s at management s discretion and it s clear that management right down to your reception staff couldn t care less. Get with the 21st century Medi Clinic Sandton.

Public hospitals function better than this institution. From Reception to Medical Staff experienced putrid absent minded service. Please beaware of some Doctors' who send patients for unnecessary tests and unnecessary ward admissions for the sake of milking the medical aid and patients. Reception clerks are MIA and 90% of the time - you'll find the security guards are probably the most helpful individuals at this hospital.

My baby is in ICU and as I am breastfeeding, I am staying in the pediatric ward. I am supposed to receive 3 meals a day, but I keep getting skipped. I have complained several times but am being ignored. Soap dispensers in bathrooms are empty. No paper towels to dry your hands. Staff talk loudly to one another whilst babies are sleeping. Floors are dirty. The service is just absolutely appalling and staff is unprofessional.

We had come to Sandton medi clinic for a check up and after spending an hour and 30 mins with doctor and radiology ended up going to Wiesenhof for a coffee and something to munch. Ordered 3 coffees and tramezinni (chicken mayo). The waitress asked if we would like to order some side chips which we said Yes! The food came 18 later after repeatedly asking and if that wasn t enough, I was shocked to see the bill, they charged R22 for chips, pic attached. This was horrific to say the least. There were not even more than 10-12 chips on that bowl!!

My 10 year old daughter was bitten by a dog in the face on Saturday morning. Dr Mia was the surgeon on duty at the emergency. He was informed of the emergency and we drove from Pretoria. When were arrived at the emergency room, Dr Mia informed the personnel to clean the wound and that he would only be able to put in stitches on Monday! Why!! Pathetic!! Avoid in an emergency.

Thank you so much to the staff at Sandton. I am recovering in the surgical ward. Ward D. Buhle..Daffney..Rhona, Thola, Noluvula and Hilda to name a few of these dedicated nurses. These women work hard and long hours and have been gentle, efficient and sympathetic. Thank you to the security team..the cleaners and the runners who bring our meals. One of the most painful experiences of my life was made just that little bit better because of the service. Keep it up guys. I appreciate you all. Ngiyabonga

Had a small procedure done on 4 September 2019 in Ward D, I was pleasantly surprised about the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. The hospital is looking great after the re-vamp. I was there in 2015, this was a 100% improvement on my experience then. Thanks to the reception, admission and Ward D staff, you were great!!!

I Had an appointment there with Dr. Maxwell. Arri...

I Had an appointment there with Dr. Maxwell. Arrived 20 minutes early to get any necessary paperwork completed. Was told that he was called away for a meeting. I flew in from out of the country to meet with him and was not informed of the scheduling change. When making the appointment, I gave them my phone number and email address. The excuses as to why the didn't inform me was that they don't have email in their office and that they don't call out of the country numbers. My guess is that every receptionist in that office is on Whatsapp and could have made the effort to communicate or they could have walked down to the accounts office where they have email and sent me a message.

I had a scheduled MRI with the hospital at 11am. I went down to the radiology department to see if there were any possible appointments later in the day to see if I could reschedule, but there were none. I also needed Dr. Maxwell's signature on a form for the test to take place. I went back to Dr. Maxwell's office to see if they had communicated with him, I got the reply, "His cell phone is off"...Sitting among other patients, in much worse of a state than myself, who were waiting for their appointments (which the receptionists failed to communicate to as well)...I dozed off for a good fifty minutes. I awoke as the clock ticked past my MRI appointment time, I decided to go back to the MRI dept. and see what could be done.

I once again explained my situation and that I was paying out of pocket and only had Maxwell as a person to refer me for the MRI and read the scan...on the verge of tears, I once again explained what was going on and the receptionist sent me back to the MRI lab to speak with Laura the MRI lab tech. She needed to know what kind of scan I need so I called my neurologist out of the country and got an explanation.

Laura was kind and understanding and got things sorted. I could tell this was not the first time this happened to a patient of Dr. Maxwell. Laura and her staff called up and made it very clear to Dr. Maxwell's office that I was not happy. Around 13 hours, someone from Dr. Maxwell's office came down to radiology looking for me. After waiting for four and a half hours for a doctor to show up, I said that I was not going back up to his office.

I paid for my scan, got my paperwork and will be sending it to a neurologist elsewhere.

I have spent much time in hospitals all over the world and I have never seen a doctor or a doctor's administration more uncommunicative than this. I don't understand why Sandton would keep a practice on at their hospital that gives such a bad representation to their facility.

I give this situation a 1 star because of Dr. Maxwell and his staff. I would give the hospital a 5 star for going above and beyond and getting things done despite such terrible cooperation from one of the offices that they are to be working with.

On 13 Aug , I went in for a full hip replacement performed by Dr Macdonald
My first impression of the Sandton Medi Clinic was very good.
Admission was done swiftly and efficiently. The staff and management were very friendly and eased my fears.
The Orthopedic Unit Manager was fantastic ( Marais ) She was very caring and popped in on a regular basis. The food was also very good, considering it being in a hospital. I would recommend this hospital as well as Dr Macdonald and his team to anyone . Thank you to the staff.

In the past 6 months I ve been admitted to Sandton...

In the past 6 months I ve been admitted to Sandton Medi Clinic twice and both times I feel as if I ve been treated like a second class citizen.

Some of the nurses were disrespectful, didn t even know what procedure I had done, and would make me wait for over 20 mins after I pressed the Call for nurse button (this happened multiple times). I waited again for over 20mins for the nurse to bring me a pillow (there was no pillow on my bed) as well as my hospital clothes.

I had moved wards and asked for my bag and cell phone to be brought to me after my surgery. I had to wait for 2 hours and asked the nurses over 8 times to please find out where my bags were before a nurse physically went down to my previous ward to finally get my bags and bring them to me.

I m vegetarian and the food was absolutely revolting. I was given a single vegetarian sausage and one cold fried egg for breakfast.

The only good thing I have to say about the hospital is that my doctor was amazing, speedy, and only wanted to best for me. I just wish that the rest of the hospital s staff were the same.

Grateful thanks to all staff on duty Saturday morn...

Grateful thanks to all staff on duty Saturday morning, 29 Dec when I rushed in bleeding from a deep gash in my forehead. I had tripped and fallen at home and hit my forehead against a piece of furniture causing the injury. A family member who lives close by rushed me to Sandton Emergency. I have the highest praise for the efficiency and kindest care of the staff at this unit. Special thanks to nurse Ayanda who so professionally took charge of my care and work up for the Doctor. I'm sorry not to have gotten the Dr's name but he did a beautiful job of sewing up a jagged laceration. I took the bandage off today and see the wound is healing beautifully from docs fine stitching. And thank you as well to the clerical staff who so kindly and efficiently handled payment for services. I highly recommend Sandton Mediclinic Emergency unit for their professionalism, expertise and caring concern. With grateful thanks.

I have just come from the maternity ward at Sandto...

I have just come from the maternity ward at Sandton Mediclinic to visit my grandson. I was treated so badly by the "Security Guard" at the reception of the Maternity Ward. She stood clearing her nose (repeatedly I might add) which for somebody in a maternity ward is extremely unhygienic. as well as scratching her head. Would not allow me to go and call my son (my phone was not working) To be treated so badly is totally unacceptable!

Please teach your staff etiquette, and common courtesy. If you are working as a security guard at a shebeen maybe that behaviour is acceptable, but this is supposed to be a clinical institution. The least she could have done is been more courteous and explained the visiting hours as well as allowing somebody to call my son.

By the way, all the other visitors that have been so far have told me she has also been rude to them.

IF I COULD PUT 0 STARS I WOULD!

This is the absolute worst emergency department in Gauteng.

I was extremely ill a few years ago and I had a virus. I couldn't even walk or keep my eyes open. My sister had the same virus and when we got to the ED they made us wait for an hour while we were getting sick in the bathroom. Then they finally found a room for us but we had to share a bed between the two of us. We then waited another 2 hours, with no supervision from the nurses, for the ONE doctor that was on duty. Only for them to wrongfully diagnose and medicate us with pneumonia when it was a virus.

And about a month ago my sister had a psychotic episode, she struggles with bipolar disorder type 2, derealization disorder, PTSD and borderline personality disorder. Psychotic episodes is a regular thing for her and sometimes she needs hospitalization. The first time we took her the Sandton mediclinic ED the doctor was not nearly as educated enough as to what her disorders are. When we informed the doctors they did not know how to properly treat her nor did they call a psychologist or a psychiatrist who should be on call. After the episode had ended the doctor told her and my parents that she had an anxiety attack. How belittling.

They need to educate their staff or have someone who is educated on call because the way my sister was treated that night was unacceptable. I will never use sandton mediclinics ED again.

Sandton mediclinic staff are all friendly from the ones who clean to the kitchen staff than the nurses and the sisters in charge wow they treated me as if I am part of their family and made my stay pleasant. Thank you to all the D-ward staff and others who took good care of me, I will remember my stay at this hospital and recommend it to others. Big thank you to my doctor Dr Lowton I appreciate your good work.
