My wife and I stayed for a couple hours at the Royal Thai restaurant on our honeymoon. The wait staff was excellent and everything that was served for dinner was absolutely perfect. The view was incredible and something about being on a private island really kicks it up a notch. 5 stars!

The Royal Caribbean Sandals is a fantastic resort to stay and play. The resort personnel are very helpful and will treat you right. They are very accommodating, and do their best to make you feel like family. Couples only resort is a great way for you and your mate to getaway and enjoy each other.
We just returned yesterday from a wonderful vacation. The staff was so friendly. I was particularly impressed with a bartender named Courtney who remembered our names and favorite drinks after only a few hours of being at the resort and continued to do so until we left. The pools were lovely and the beaches relaxing. I read some other reviews before going and agree it's not the most walkable beach but if you're simply looking to relax, enjoy the food and drinks, and not feel pressured to engage in activities this is the place. I also read concerns about chairs being reserved but after 10am they are fair game. I sat in several "reserved" seats but they never showed and even if they had I could have moved to several open spots. We had an ocean view room that was an almost full ocean view (Kensington Honeymoon Suite). None like we've had before. We stayed an extra night because we couldn't stand to leave! Now we are back in snow and missing the warm weather. We had the option to visit the other two resorts in Jamaica but did not. I'm sure we will next time but this time was just so relaxing. If your goal is to have beautiful surroundings, friendly people, great food, and even better drinks - go to this resort. We had massages and pedicures which were amazing. We also did the photo shoot. Yes, it feels expensive, but we got some cool photos and a CD with rights to all of the photos. I can easily get photos from Walmart on the cheap. My one and only complaint was the gentlemen who rode up and down in kayaks each day trying to sell things. Don't make the mistake of waving - they think you want to get high. They also whistle and holler when you say no or try to ignore them. Otherwise we had no complaints.

Really great place. The food is amazing, service is spot on. The beach is broken into to small areas which is ok. The sand was hard packed in some places which wasn't so great. Housekeeping was really good, bartenders were as well.8.5/10
What an experience. All inclusive vacation is the way to do it. The resort was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and the most helpful. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. And are always willing to make you laugh. Jamician people are the most humble people and really know how to party. If that is your thing that is. If not you can still have a good time. No matter what age! I need to give a special shout out to Trisha, Travis, and shwane who worked at the resort. We will be coming back very soon
Just getting ready to leave and so sad,this is the second time we've been here and already rebooked for next year!The staff is so friendly and treat you like family here and that's what keeps us coming back!Yes,the island is closed but it did not ruin our stay one bit!There is Soo much to do in Mobay to keep you busy! :-) Do not let the negative reviews affect your opinion!The staff works non stop keeping this place in tip top shape and clean!!I haven't even left and already looking forward to returning!!
Overall, did not meet expectations. The service was fantastic! However, the facility and furnishings were dated. Our room came nowhere near matching the picture or descriptions of the web site. We were "attacked" by some unseen bugs, waking up with reddish bumps. When we asked if other guests experienced this, we were told no, but later that day, we saw and heard an exterminator spraying for something! We didn't venture out much or participate in many activities since it was our honeymoon but what we saw of guests who did, they enjoyed it. We did a candle light dinner on the beach and a massage, both were very nice!
Need to work on the guest wearing face mask a little better

My husband and I were celebrating our 15th anniversary at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort and Private Island. We stayed in one of the over the water bungalows. I knew it would be great, but our experience was extraordinary. From the moment we stepped off the plane to the moment we left the resort the service was top notch. Our butlers Tamara and Francois were the absolute best. Tamara was always one step ahead of us and knew what we needed at all times. The morning of our anniversary we were going to eat in our room, but she set up a private spot on the beach to enjoy our special day. Every person that works at this resort is very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely return. I feel what we paid was well worth it!
The over water bungalows are AMAZING!!! The views and scenery are incredible and finally, the service is out of this world!!!

We had an amazing honeymoon at SRC. I nice and laid back. Be sure to get a drink from Courtney at the pool bar and Andre at the pub!
We stayed 7 days this time. 4 days last year was not enough. Great food, enjoyed visiting the close by Montego Bay Resort as well. Had a great view of the ocean from our room. Staff was welcoming. Every meal was super.

Great time! There some wonderful excursions that are not part of the all-inclusive. Book ahead of time. Do not bring much cash or debit cards but do bring credit cards. That is what is expected to use for items on the resort. No cash is accepted. Only need cash for airports. Weather is great!
My wife and I visited for our honeymoon. It was amazing. Sheldon and Andre were our butlers. They made everything a delight. They really took care of everything. Reservations, spa bookings, excursions and more. Much more. The resort grounds we're beautiful. The staff went out of there way to be welcoming. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from and everything was delicious. Every meal was better then the last. What an amazing experience. I highly recommend.
First arrived after long trip, put in a room with strangers until room is ready and u sign in, after an hr finally got room We got the room facing ocean lower walk out with tub, finally arrived at room and we were right in front of volleyball courts, loud , music blaring, cups etc... All over,. After complaing not take the room they hesitated but tried their best to move us but no openings that night it finally quieted down woke up next morning with a peace ful view of the ocean Until they had a photo shoot out in front busy again after the shoot volleyball started twice daily and nightly activities out right in front tonight a big event for travel agents beautiful set up but again hrs of setting up bug tent no view loud these rooms are very loud with entertainment behind and front I have talked to few other guest that in same week changed there room. They are not like pics can't take a bath without a party outside. I hope the travel agents that were pampered very well never tell their clients these are nice bath tub rooms with a nice location, will never booked this room again other than that staff was nice, beaches nice, private island was under construction all I heard for 8 days. Construction, party, beating music till late, 4 people this week changed their walk out rooms I should of but tried to give it an effort thank God leaving to go find peace

The over the water bungalows are one of the most beautiful rooms I ve ever stayed at. You can see the ocean under your room, amazing plunge pool, the best butlers, great temperature all year long, great spa, great food and a nude beach! Super beautiful place. Amazing!

What an incredible stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean. We chose to stay in an Over The Water Villa so that we could stay to ourselves for the most part. We thought it would be a great experience, but it was beyond what we expected.
The room was amazing. Clean, spacious, and being able to look out at sunrise / sunset was pretty incredible. The service was constantly top notch the entire time.
We enjoyed a variety of food that was way better than what we had expected from an all-inclusive. Over and over again we had great food from the different restaurants.
Finally, the service was over the top from the butlers. We had Charles and Jazzy, and they both were exceptional. We particularly loved the thoughtful things that Charles did when he would bring surprise snacks and food.
Highly recommend both this resort, and these rooms. The over the water experience with the villa was a unique, once in a lifetime experience!

This place was absolutely amazing! I had my reservations because of what other people said about Jamaica.. and they were so wrong on so many levels. Our room was upgraded and decorated by Natasha aka CeCe for my fiancee's birthday. Everyone was so friendly and nice and the rooms stayed clean. Yes the beach is smaller than most but we liked because everything was in walking distance. Food and drinks were so so good. Especially at The Jerk Shack. You have to take thr boat over but even that's nice too. Also in town there is a place called Skootchies were they serve authentic Jerk Chicken. Amazing...I cant wait to go back. Plus you can visit the other Sandals Resorts while you are there. Tokyo Jo's at Sandals Montego Bay is a must visit! PSA if you a beach chair I suggest you set something in the seat early morning.. they go fast. Bring your YETI cup.. they can make you any drink you want in it.. The canoeing, sailboat, paddleboarding are all free..

Went for a wedding. Had a blast. Wedding was on a small beach by the resort, it seemed really small but was the perfect size for our party of 24. The reception was at Sandals Island and SO much fun. This was perfect.
The food was not great but the experience overall was pretty good. The beach was top notch and the workers will do anything for you

Not sure where to start. Best money spent on a 7 night vacation. This is the second Sandals we have been to. The RC resort has the best supporting staff, very friendly and overall likes to have a good time.
We had the Butler service, although pricey, it was worth it. All meal reservations were made by our Butler and you will find that you will not have a problem getting same day reservations in very popular restaurants. When you get a Butler it comes with a cell phone so you can call them from your chair on the beach.
I'm racking my brain trying to think of Cons to this property, I really cannot. Everything was just perfect. I understand that experience may differ based off expectations. What you see on the website is what you get.
RC is a smaller resort which we loved. They have a small shuttle that runs over to the MB resort that you have complete access to.
This place is worth giving a shot. They have big portions for convenient prices. Always well kept and with awesome ambience. Would recommend to others.
Awesome place at least the first time for me being in sandals in Montego Bay treated like royalty for real it was a beautiful thing I would recommend people to go there and enjoy it
Beautiful place to holiday as a couple. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi to the moment we flew out, it was an absolute amazing experience. The staff are so sincere and a delight to be around. I get welcomed and appreciated by everyone there. We spared no expense for this trip, got a butler and a swim up room. The main pool and beach were cool, but the Sandals Cay was the best beach there. We explored a bit and enjoyed meeting locals and touring the shops. Would definitely go back to THIS resort if we ever get the chance again.

Second sandals experience but first in Jamaica. Went for 10th anniversary and had a swim up suite with butler. Nice room and we had Ian and Kemar as butlers. We're pretty simple people so the butler service was overkill but very nice. We got along great with them and they interacted with us nonstop during the week. Courtney and Shawayne at the main pool bar took care of us all week and were awesome to talk to. Could there if been better things about it, sure but we had a blast for a week. Met amazing people that we now call friends and will always look to sandals as a way to go for vacation! Treat them good and they treat you good, it's as simple as that!!
A very lovely place & some amazing service (although some mediocre service as well...many staff are NOT very pleasant or helpful). Beautiful property & beaches...although marred by construction on both ends of the property (despite being assured by Sandals prior to our vacation that no major construction was occurring). Many wonderful memories but would try other locations/resorts 1st.
We stayed at the over the water bungalows with Butler service. Our Butler, Alexus, set up breakfast every morning, dinner reservations, the best beach Cabana and cute towel decorations on the bed. Awesome one of a kind experience! Highly recommend!

This resort is actually located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The staff are absolutely wonderful! They are helpful, attentive, and friendly. The resort is beautiful! Lots of sun and fun. There are many activities available at the resort, such as windsurfing, paddle boarding, catamaran rides, etc. You can even workout during available fitness sessions, play volleyball on the beach or just relax and enjoy. The evening activities are exciting and plentiful. You will experience a variety of music, dancing and shows. Enjoy!
Stayed at Sandals royal Caribbean for 4 days and felt that 4days are very less and there is so much to do at the resort. Loved the experience, as the club members, we got free access to all the restaurants and a free photoshoot. When they mean free, they really mean free without any term's and conditions. Totally in love with the people here, I am an Indian residing in Canada and the Jamaicans made me feel at home after so many days. We will defenitely come back to this very place just for the sake of people and the service. They really work for us and they do it very happily.

Love the resort. Butler service with Sheldon and Andre was awesome, with attention to detail. This was our 5th trip to this resort. It's a small resort like a boutique resort close to the airport maybe 10 to 15 minute drive. The only disappointing thing was that there was construction at the time. Wish the resort would warn people about this.
My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. We didn t get a chance to read a lot about the property before our honeymoon, but it was so much fun exploring on our own!
The whole entertainment team is great. We couldn t pick a favorite member between Warren, Trix, Bubbles, Kilee, and Elmo. They make sure you re having fun, whether that s by playing beach volleyball and somehow winning, or making sure you have enough drinks to keep partying into the night!
We especially loved trying all kinds of new foods like jerk chicken and escargo!
Photos of rooms do NOT match actual rooms. Not all staff is helpful (had to ask of lots of things multiple times). Beach was a bay so not the pristine beautiful. Resort was also in Montego Bay Airport flight path so from 10am - 7pm constant take-off noise. We were super disappointed in the whole experience. FYI: the spa was great.
Our stay at Royal Caribbean for 5 nights in the over-water bungalow was amazing. We came here for our honeymoon since Royal Barbados extended its closure.
Overall the resort was extremely welcoming and friendly. All of the staff no matter what their position was extremely friendly and always made sure to greet us and have small conversation. The resort was clean with hand sanitizer everywhere for COVID. Because of COVID the resort was not crowded at all.
Food:
In our experience the best food we had (not including our in-room dining) was at the Jerk Shack, the Grill, the pizza spot, Bombay Club and Spices. The food at all restaurants was cooked perfectly. The Jamaican cuisine was hands down the best.
Jerk Shack, Pizza, Grill, and Spices had amazing food. Highly recommend the Jerk Pizza and Jerk Chicken.
Bombay Club really surprised us. We were expecting mediocre food like the restaurants below... but this food was AMAZING. Honestly some of the best Indian food we had (given we live in NYC). The apps were cooked perfectly and were so flavorful. The entrees were extremely tasty and cooked perfectly. This is hard to say about Indian restaurants. The desserts were really good as well.
The Thai place on the island was extremely nice in terms of setting. The apps were amazing but the food, even though cooked well was just bland. Nowhere close to authentic. Desserts were good.
However the French restaurant disappointed us. Their desserts were good but their food just did not taste good (even though cooked perfectly). Both the app and entree me and my wife got were almost inedible in how they tasted. We wanted to try Italian but another couple had a similar experience so we decided to skip it. Also the ambiance was dark and mediocre.
Candlelight Dinner was a $200 add-on. It was really romantic having dinner by the water, watching the sunset. The food choices are different than what you get at the restaurant and was cooked well by the chef of that day. He was nice enough to come out and make sure everything was going well and if there was anything he could do to make our dinner better. Our waitress was extremely nice to leave us alone and check in when needed. She even escorted us and our desserts back to the room to finish there.
The Spa staff were extremely nice. The first couples massage (Scents of Love) treatment was mediocre which set our hopes low for the second one we got (Night Blooming Jasmine). However the Night Blooming Jasmine was AMAZING. We had the same set of masseuses and this treatment left us feelings so good. We guess the first treatment was just not a good one. Also would recommend getting the services done outside (extra money but worth it). The room makes you feel stuffy and cold but outside you are by the water, it feels more open, you hear the waves and just feels more romantic.
Bulter Suite Specific:
The over-water bungalows and villas are so nice. If you can you have to experience it. I would suggest it to those who want to spend more time in their room rather than go out because once you have one of these rooms you don't want to leave them. Everything can be brought to your room with dining on the deck. It is a wonderful experience.
Shoutout to our butters Leon and Tiffany who took such good care of us during our stay! They both always left us little surprises in our rooms such as personalized decorations, sweets, treats and was constantly aware of our preferences (water, drink choices). They helped us get accustomed to the resort and made suggestions on activities and let us know how they could help us (reservations, in-room breakfast, dispatching boat transfer). They both also showed up promptly to escort us to our reservations and spa sessions. It was an amazing experience thanks to both of them.
Also something we didn't know was that the butler suites have access to a specific in-room dining menu with 24/7 service. This included breakfast w/ drinks, regular food and desserts. The quality of this food was amazing. We had breakfast everyday in our room which tasted amazing.

Butler service a total waste of money. You never see them and most of the time when you call they don't answer. Food at restaurants not very good. Night time entertainment was horrible -boring. Lots of conversatio with other guests who were also very disappointed.
Should not stay at this Resort but enjoyed both the French and the Thai restaurants there. The only reason we visited that particular Resort.
Absolutely amazing staff, they made it the most memorable experience we could have had! Great way to spend our 5 year anniversary and we look forward to going back asap.
The people working there are absolutely amazing. They make you smile daily. The resort has a cricket population that chirps from sun down until dawn. I had a hard time sleeping. You might want ear plugs. Take bug spray! They spray for bugs twice a day but my group got eaten up. They do not have spray at the resort. The beach is in a shallow bay so if you re looking for crashing waves you won t find them here. I don t want to sound negative because I had a great time. These are things I wish I knew before I went. This is an adult only resort that seems popular with the retirement community. If partying is your goal not the resort for you. If you are wanting to just relax and be around a great staff I would highly recommend. I hope this helps.
Rooms were clean but cramped. The grounds were nicely kept. If you are looking for a smoke free environment I would stay away from this place. The do not enforce their policy on smoking in designated areas only. People frequently smoked at the beaches. Additionally staff at the resort were not friendly at all. A couple of individuals were but for the most part they are not.
My favorite!!!!! The private island is AMAZING! Enjoy it!
We had a wonderful 4 night stay (10/14/2015). Friendly and attentive staff. Good food, clean pools and beach. Well kept rooms. Beautiful grounds. Highly recommend the Kensington building on the far east side of the resort. Much more quiet and relaxing.
3 nice restaurants here (La Jardinier, Royal Thai, Eleanor's). For our 4th night, we took the (2 mile) shuttle over to the Sandals Montego Bay resort. Pretty disappointed with this dinner trip to Cucina Romana. Food was good, but service was spotty and the restaurant was stifflingly hot. Entire layout of Sandals Montego Bay was also odd (no private beach areas, indoor performance stage was oppressive, restaurants blocking views of water). So we couldn't get out of there fast enough - back to our fantastic Sandals Royal Caribbean.

This place was romance at its best! A wonderful place to reconnect with my husband and take a break from reality. The grounds were fantastic the staff was outstanding, all the amenities and activities or top notch. We will be going back again for sure!

Bugs in room, front desk made us come get our own towels, the room stinks and said we got what we booked. Said no staff to help us. The new side might be nice but the original side is a dump!

Wonderful! Bernadette works at Eleanors restraurant and I learned a lot about the island of Jamaica and it's people from her. Mark is a creative bartender on the Sandals island. Lilly is a warm and compassionate clerk at the Sandals shop that helped me find just the right gifts for my children. Great staff and many fun activities...

Great place to vacation and the staff treats you like the most important person there. The food was great especially for an all inclusive resort. This is an adults only resort.

This was our first time to Jamaica and it was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, especially Arlando and Donald, they made the BEST drinks! The entertainment was spectacular. I HIGHLY recommend attending every entertainment event they offer, it's well worth it! The only issue was the mosquitoes, but there isn't much they can do about it so be sure to bring bug spray. All of the restaurants were incredibly delicious, so be sure to try them all! Some are by reservation only, so make sure to reserve early! It's really neat to be able to go to the separate island as well. Although we didn't visit it, there is apparently a nude beach on the far side of the island. Be sure to watch out for all the crabs and hermit crabs walking around! They definitely helped make the trip memorable for sure!
Unreal facilities and the a la carte restaurants are jaw droppingly great. Must visit regardless of which sandals you visit.
