Apparently San Mateo has leased the facility to a new company, who has chosen to eliminate in and out privileges. If your going for your kid s volleyball tournament and have to leave to get more supplies at Whole Foods or other local stores, be prepared to PAY AGAIN to park your car in the same lot you paid to park in earlier in the day. #ripoff
Very Nice and efficient Facility for Covid19 Vaccination
This is where the makers movement was born and continues to grow
I've been coming to the fairgrounds for years in the summers. Certain aspects have changed, but its an overall great place to bring kids and let them free.
My favorite parts are the 4-H cake stand, the fancy chickens, and as a kid I enjoyed the workshops they'd give on building stuff (like a bird-box)
Nice fairgrounds they use to have a horse racing track here and some of the exhibits are smaller than in the past but still a fun place for a county fair.
Very large event space, went there for Maker Faire. Wished there were more water fountains though.
Went to San Mateo county Fair it was great for the kids
Never have I seen a major event like giving vaccine so perfectly run. From the moment we drove in every aspect was perfectly executed. Well done.
The place is huge and can accommodate lots of people. But need to have more clean eest rooms.
Makers Fair is unlike any event, good balance of craft, live events and hands on exhibits for all ages. Expansive areas to explore as well as enclosed halls to get a break from the sun, plenty of food and drink to suit most appetites.
Parking was $15. There's 2 food stations on the right side, one at each end of the building. The one by the door is actual food, the back is Starbucks and prepackaged salad. The handicap stalls were out of order during an Ability (handicap)Expo.
Had an amazing time at the Maker Faire. Going to make this an annual event with my wife. She enjoyed it more than I did!
If you need to get a lot of people together, this is a place to put them.
I always love the San Mateo, CA area as I lived there for over 25 years. An incredible place to shop, eat,... The schools around are amazing and spectacular! I love
Macy's, Victoria Secret, bookstore,...
Expensive and the Flower and garden show was a joke! 12.00 a day to park! Crazy
I had a wonderful time concert Morris day and The Time was good. Only thing I did not like went on their website they said they had electrical disable carts and they did not they had broken down wheelchairs that stab you in the leg. I would like to see them get electrical carts so somebody like me that can't walk very far can at least roll around and see all the sights cuz I miss my big race cuz I couldn't walk that far!!!!
The event was exceptional but the center charges far too much for parking and food. It's accessibility is limited and customer support for people is also Limited. I normally do not leave negative comments but it's frustrating trying to make suggestions to an organization and they do not want to hear from public for customers which is made quite clear.
Got my first covid shot. Super efficient operation set up. Many thanks to all the volunteers there. Great job.
Family meeting in a few words is a family fair you find everything
A huge event center with good facilities. Spent all day here for Maker Faire 2016 and wasn't disappointed
I've only been here for volleyball tournament. Minimal (bad) food options, expensive parking.
They charge $15 parking. Charge again to get inside the bldg. If you want a tailgate pass they charge $25. Place is a RIP off.
Price gouging for parking, for Volleyball and kids sporting events. Nihilists
Really hot and no shade, bring a umbrella next time
This event center supports a number of fairs like the Makerfaire and the Minefaire. It's not a bad structure but parking is extremely expensive: look for street parking off E25th, you have to walk down a bit to find the area that is not limited to two hours. The structure itself is OK, even if bathrooms belong more to a third world country than the most high tech place on Earth.
Nice venue, but charges 12 for parking. May vary by event
Well organize covid vaccinations!
Smooth.
I went while the San Mateo County Fair was in progress. There were lots of vendors, but also crafts for kids, many quilts, and high school robotics robots that were showing off their skills.
Plenty of space, convenient for big events like Maker Faire
Parking cost is the only drawback. Close to the freeway and the place is really big. Bathrooms all over the place.
There is good parking nearby, is a manageable size and has multiple options.
I went to see one of my favorite bands perform. Tower of Power. This was a nice birthday gift from a coworker. Had a great time.
Very very Good place to go shopping in the jewelry Convention
My Days work was wonderful.
Great event. The space is good for wheelchair users.
We go to the Event Center for fairs and such. There is always ample parking even though you have to pay for it. It is easy to reach off the freeway too.
It's a giant open box of an event space. I went for a Lego thing. Focusing just on the space, it was ok. The parking was easy and the attendants directed traffic well. Entry was easy. Facilities were clean. Food wasn't worth eating and the service couldn't handle even the small event as the lines were huge.
I went for the Business Expo. There was construction going on but there were signs. Not all of them were clear to everyone. It is a large complex so wear comfortable shoes. Good service.
Maker Faire Bay Area 2017 was such a hit we will be there this year May 18-20, 2018. At the Maker Faire Bay Area you may see many fantastic, influential, creative pioneering-innovators, disrupters and rebels from all over the world coming together for this annual event! Wonderful weekend for the whole family to explore. This is one of my favorite events all year! Don t miss out! Make it a Staycation if you are from the Bay Area!
Your standard fair grounds - was there for a garden show and that was nice.
Came here for a girls volleyball event and wow this place was packed. The event was great and the facilities still look good. Nice place for large events.
Made a lot of amazing memories here durring the Maker Faire and the San Mateo County Fair.
Went for a drive in movie. It was fun and well organized, but too many people don't know how to control their headlights coming on during the movie. Also a few too many streetlights on behind the movie screen. There was a buzz in the soundtrack that was mostly noticeable during quiet passages.
Maker Faire was an amazing event. don't miss it! so much to see and do.
MAKER FAIRE WAS AMAZING!!! Definitely coming next year!
Spacious event center, great for large gatherings! during the summer they host the San Mateo County Fair and numerous exhibitions and events throughout the year.
I went, but the parking was too hard. The rest is ok.
Sam Mateo county fair was awesome. The event center was good!
I was recently at a volleyball tournament and their roof leaks. Leaked last year and the year before and is still leaking. The staff is great and mops, but it didn't stop the leaks. It's dangerous for the players and I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt
Small size fair. Overly expensive and needs more Handycap parking.
