Quick and easy check in! Usually have no problems with getting to and from flights in a timely manner!

Bad/Sad. - long lines because of lack of personnel.
Smoking absolutely prohibited, totally discriminatory. Drinks astonishing expensive. Not party friendly.

Too many people for the old-fashioned design. However, it is right in the city.

Clean, friendly environment, respectful. Restaurant and many shops to visit. Easy to a accessibility due to signs

It's an airport, always has traffic but it's more organized than most, security is very respectful and understanding and they keep the lines moving

Terminal two is very nice. You need to watch what airline you are departing from so you park in the right area of the parking structure. That way you don't have walk forever

Airport is small and so easy to get in, through security and to your gate but options to eat are limited and priced a bit to high.

If I could give no stars I would. My mom from iowa flight got changed we order her an uber. The uber driver gets there and some lady in a vest tells him move to your area. My mom doesn't know here way around and this lady over the phones tells the uber driver I'll give her a 250.00 fine if u don't move. If she can fly she can find her way around. Are u kidding me how about a little help or compassion.oh and by the way my mom is 67 from iowa.

I m from Seattle area and fly frequently all over I am totally impressed with San Diego airport as being one of the absolute BEST if not THE BEST in the US!! Very friendly employees, efficient check in, security, so smooth and extremely professional! Compared to Seatac ( my departure airport all my life!) San Diego doesn t even put Seatac on the map! I would rather fly to and from San Diego than any other airport!! 5 stars you guys!!! You re wonderful :)

Worst airport I've ever been in. Overcrowded. One bathroom. 2 food options both of which lines were 20 mins long. Everyone sitting on the floor.

Me and my girl ended up missing our flight and they were so accommodating and helped us book a new flight for the same day no extra charge

30 min to drive to the airport and 45 min waiting in stop and go city traffic just to get into the airport. Missed our flight.
Sad layout for an international airport.

The lines are a little long at times but the process goes over incredibly smooth.

The new remodel has created an easy to navigate layout, with simple curb side drop off/ pick up, and decent food/ shopping options. Over all a relatively uncomplicated airport design which is more an exception to the rule these days. I will be curious to see how efficiently the security screening process works when the airport is at full capacity. Currently, operating at limited capacity due to the Coronavirus pandemic my time from curb to gate including printing out a borading pass was less than 8 minutes.

Very clean small airport. Wish they have a runway connecting people to another gate. Had to re-enter security to transfer to my gate. Also the gates are too close, it's too crowded. Only one restroom (a lot of stalls) in the gate area, making the restroom lines long for incoming and outgoing flights. There's more restroom outside security.

For a small busy airport, they do a good job. Have made it through security and to the gate with the flight leaving in 30 minutes. New upgrades make it more modern and better food and drink choices.

Very quick airport. I live in San Diego and start to finish I can leave my house an hour and a half before the flight leaves. 15 min drive, 10 min parking down the street, 20 min ticketing and security.

Decent but Southwest and Delta are chronically understaffed. The lines extend in to the walk ways making it slow and difficult to navigate terminal 1. Terminal 2 is better.

Times Of Covid. NO People but an easy airport to maneuver. Safe Travels Everyone

Terminal 2 is rather terrible. Far too packed, single bathroom, and wifi isn't even close to working even when half of the people left. Will try to avoid in the future, this is clearly both bad planning and bad execution.

Used terminal 1 multiple times. Airport location is easy to access and close to the city. No hassles going to or from. Terminal 1 though, terrible. Always packed, limited food and beverage options, always a line for the bathrooms. If you re your originating or landing here you can mange. If you have the option to change planes here or elsewhere, route to somewhere else.

Fantastic airport for travelers flying from Terminal 2 as they just upgraded that terminal, but if you are flying Southwest, Alaska, or Frontier, be prepared for a super cramped terminal 1 in desperate need of a major renovation.

We changed planes on Southwest and unfortunately had to exit and then enter through security again in an area with just 2 gates. At least we had time and enjoyed a flight of local beer near our departure gate.

Great service. Security check completes in 30 mins at the max.

What other major city has an International airport that s 5 min to downtown, 5 min to the Convention Center, oh and is right next to the ocean? Can t wait for the new Terminal 1!

TSA was quick, but the terminals are horribly overcrowded.

Staff is polite, easy airport to navigate. Always a pleasure.

For being such a great city, the San Diego may be one of the worst airports in America. Not because of check-in or security (both lines were fine), but because of the actual terminals. They are small with little seating and food options. If a flight is delayed and there's an influx of people, you will cramped and good luck finding a plug to recharge!

Not as busy as we expected. Easy to drop off rental car, with carts at exit. Well staffed desk for check in, easy thru security. A little tight in the waiting area but workable. Bathrooms very, very clean. Recharging stations in the seats of waiting area!!!

parking is easy. the pedestrian bridge is very helpful. airport wheelchairs are every where. employees were very courteous and available to answer questions. awesome airport!

Always s good experience when I fly from SD International

Just another usual airport. However, the location is nice. Good options for food. The staffs are friendly. But if you land late in night, most of the food options are closed.

No smoking lounge. I get that a lot of people don't smoke but a lot of people do and traveling for 16 hours without being able to have even one cigarette between flights really sucks.

I flew southwest and it is super super easy to get from their check bag counter to security and into the terminals. I was very surprised how close everything was.

Quick transfers to rental cars; Very helpful attendants. Very good experience...Employees seemed mindful and concerned about all travelers; As well during this difficult time with concerns of viruses. They had started minimal contact and PPE / quarantining when necessary.

One of the best airports I've ever been to. Really nice shops, restaurants, service, and restrooms are very clean. It's only about a 10 minute drive from the center of San Diego.

It wasn't as busy as usual. My friend came out with her luggage on time.

Super nice, recently renovated airport with easy security, but the plugs in the seats at Gate 45 don't work. Strange to have them in each seat, but not have them work.

Very friendly atmosphere. Not huge so we didn't get lost!! Yea!! Sad to leave gorgeous San Diego!!

Great airport. Nice looking. Only had one problem. In terminal 2 parking I was on top level 3 at 5:30 am looking for my friends car when all the lights shut off. Took me awhile to find the car in the dark.

The busiest one-runway airport in the world, but you won't notice. It's a great place to fly in and out of and is pretty much in Downtown San Diego.

A great airport that is almost always to get in and out of. Very rarely long waits at security. I wish all airports could be this easy!

Had to call in for a last minute reservation for airport on a weekday during peak time and was able to get it on time at a very reasonable price.

Easy to navigate, especially terminal one to the rental car center. Nice free shuttle was easy to get to with clear signage. Security was efficient.

Convenient airport, about 20 minutes by taxi to the bay front.

I understand the need to stop people from parking at terminal 1 waiting for their pickups. But i arrived to pick up a family member. They called me as they were almost out. I got to terminal 1. Stopped for 30 seconds looking for my family member. Keep in mind it was only 30 seconds! The guy ahead of me braked hard. A terminal security guy told me to move my car. I was trying to tell him there is my pickup but he would not listen. He said i am telling you to move along. So i pulled off to go back around and received a call from my waiting family saying ,"Where are you going"? I told them the security guard told me to go around and would not listen. Now i am not one to say anything about race. I believe everyone is equal. But this security guard or police officer was black. I am a white man. The reason why i am saying this is because the guy that braked his car hard was a black man. When i came around he was still sitting in the same place with the security guard/policeman ignoring him. I picked up my family but felt the guard was racist by singling me out and letting another of his race thwart the rules. I honestly thought that as Americans we were beyond this. Airport security should be ashamed!

Humongous Airport! Plan to arrive early if you are not familiar with where things are and to allow time to pass through security.

People were friendly and helpful.

This airport is the worse. They force everyone to leave the terminals claiming it's a safety concern. My flight was delayed by American Airlines, the whole time they told all the passengers they were waiting for the flight crew from the hotel, then later they said it was weather related. They didn't want to offer any accommodations and said it was the airports responsibility, only problem, the airport kicks everyone out of the terminals before 12 am and force you back out to the public side. I was freezing for 6 hrs and had to go through TSA clearance all over again.

One of the worst midsized airports in the country. Its location right smack next to downtown practically ruins the city center with its airplane noise. Inside, Terminal One is reminiscent of the old LaGuardia, which was an embarrassment for New York City: (The newly renovated LaGuardia is a totally different animal) crowded, noisy and often resembles some sort of refugee camp. Very limited food choices compared to an airport in a similarly sized city like San Jose. The city should just rip this airport apart and convert it into a mixed used commercial area with a park.
