A wonderful employee made the difference in us making our flight or missing it. Clearly, we made it!!

Make sure you have a cell phone, cause they sure are not helpful if you need to make a call lol
SWA and the airport sucks! To run from gate 7 to gate 1A and have to leave a secure gate and go through another TSA checkpoint to make your connection is ridiculous and should be noted during purchase with SWA. Nice to have service to Tucson but as much as we all love the unpatriotic experience of a TSA checkpoint this needs to change. Build a tunnel from one secure area to another.
It's the perfect mix between a large and small town airport. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. It always has flights to go everywhere I want to go.
One of the easiest airports to navigate! The view as you fly in, either during the day but especially at night, is something to behold. Given the choice between SAN or LAX, we much prefer to head south. We're lucky to be halfway between both!
This airport is horrible. Terminal 1 is tiny and there's not enough seating
Poo
Afd
Friendly staff easy access to food and drinks and it is by the San Diego Bay
Although it s super squished, it s overall a good airport.Ive used this airport for my first flights to the Philippines,Europe, and other states. The workers are also dandy and should get more appreciation. My daughter once got lost but they helped her!
Very good airport with excellent services. The TSA screen was fast. The food court has a lot of options
The cel phone lot is temporarily closed so do not go to the airport too early.
This is a nice airport. It's clean with lots of wide open spaces. It's not too big. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from that are pretty decent.
Worst airport ever. Had to change flights there and barely made my other flight. Was directed out of security and had to go back through it again. The security was inefficient and rude. The airport personnel were mostly so preoccupied with themselves they weren't paying attention to what was going on around them which made asking for directions to the correct gate difficult given the signs failed utterly. I literally barely made boarding for my flight by 2 minutes and there were others who almost did not make it at all. Complete disaster of an airport. Signs to get to the correct gate were hard to read and lacked direction.
Expect a minimum of a 45 min to an hour wait to get your bags after your flight
Good airport overall. Not too crowded and passengers are processed relatively fast. Terminal 2 in particular is spacious, clean, and has free exhibitions and public art to keep passengers entertained. Check out the Intergalactic Dreaming exhibition if you fancy astronomy and space science. Complimentary Wi-Fi was reliable but limited to two hours per session, after which a new session can immediately be started.
It is very close to downtown San Diego but expect city traffic as you make your way into the city.
The car rental center is outside the airport premises and can be reached via a free shuttle. Allot at least an extra half hour as the shuttle service can be frustratingly slow.
Nice east layout airport. Only problem I have is the priority pass lounge is in one section of the airport while most flights leave out of a separate portion. Often I dont get to enjoy that perk and there is no way to get over to it from the two sections. Otherwise lovely airport, quick in and out
No respect for passengers at this airport , we ve been waiting for over 30 mn in the aircraft before deboarding even though there was gates available. Totally innaceptable.
Why do you have to go through security again after deplaning and changing flights??
Nicely planned terminal 2 with lot of restaurants and large food court, fountain, and other amenities.
Boarding. Getting ready to head back West thanking God in advance for safe passage!!! Hope everyone had and is having a wonderful Resurrection Sunday, Happy Easter He is Risen, just like he said, GLORY! !!!
love the moment you arrive in SAN that brings a smile to your face! Very easy to navigate between terminals.
I actually walk all the way to the water park and get my car2go and explore!
Airport is very small. When I got off the plane I had to go to a different gate and walk out into the main terminal and walk back through security check. I think the airport needs a little love and renovation.
Other than that everyone was very friendly and helpful.
The gate I went out of, 1A, had very little food and beverage choices.
Never liked the feeling of airports. This one has vastly improved over the years and almost feels a little exciting to me. Bright, clean, arts displayed, Phil's BBQ! Stone Brewery?!
My favorite feature is the clearly posted information throughout the terminals, making it very easy to find your arriving people. I also like how there is a currency exchange by baggage claim to make things a little easier on travelers.
As with most airports right now during Covid, limited support service available however, SAN is a fantastic airport that blends California beach feel with business acumen. Easy in & out!
Fast service. Clean areas. If only all the passengers followed the proper procedures.
This airport looked like a dump and was unorganized. I had a connecting flight, and you have to go back around through security to get to your next plane, when you were already in the terminal. Doesn't make sense. Security checkpoints were cramped and went slow.
The Southwest terminal at the San Diego airport is concise and everything is easily accessible.
It is compact and easy to use.
Entry of international flights is smooth.
Beautiful + they have an app that brings food to your gate from any restaurant in the Airport
Long term parking lot closed, only for employees now. No other affordable long term option available from the airport authority. Now have to be at the mercy of independent operators or pay outrageous rates.
APPARENTLY you can t walk around the airport with your drink from the bar.. THAT WASNT VERY CASH MONEY OF YALL, smh. -100 stars out of 5. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST FOLKS, SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT CANT HANGG
Small airport that forces you to exit and rego through security if you have to go between gates. Highly abnoxious. Will fly through other airports to avoid extra security. Wasteful.
Edit: Gate was changed, making it another go around through security. Dropped a star.
Nice airport, but kind of small for a city like san diego
Great airport but I wish I could have avoided the outdoor smoking areas when walking from terminal 1 to terminal 2. It even smelled like cigarettes in the jet when we boarded. So sad for such a clean city.
Terminal 1 is poorly designed for the volume of traffic it has to deal with. Gate waiting areas are waaaay too small. I have never seen so many people just having to stand due to lack of seating.
Wonderful airport. It's great to use the services of this airport.
The airport is easy to navigate. Security line usually isn't too bad. Picking up passengers can be a nightmare.
Very clean, and the Staff are SUPERB!!!! Please allow this review as a 5
Beautiful airport right by the water. Close to Harbor Island. Lots to do close by. Still a lot of shops in the airport closed due to CoVID19. But still able to get a meal and beverage.
San Diego s only option unless you want to drive to Orange or LAX. 3 terminals that require you to go thru separate security and offer no connectivity. You ll notice the new terminal is beautiful with all of the new restaurants and very few flights. It s almost as if the city constructed the new terminal to attract the big airliners. So far they are under capacity while the majority are packed into two small terminals that service Southwest, Alaska, Frontier and other airlines. Dismal food choices in the smaller terminals so eat before you come here. It s dirty as well so be prepared.
Took an hour to get through customs! Huge queue, after an eleven hour flight not what you want to see.
Long lines at 530 AM Sunday.
Rude TSA agent. Rental car guy incomprehensible. Only 2, yes 2, scanners at the pre screen area. Horrible airport experience.
Nice airport but many people don't think they need to wear their masks , including some workers.
Really nice and clean airport with a relaxed vibe. Hard to explain, just oppose what you ll encounter in the Northeast.
A big surprise is the secure area not being open 24-hours being this is called an International Airport ... but TSA was at least friendly and calm in telling me so haha. Unlike at other airports where they aren t.
Amazing with the dancing Minions at Southwest Airlines
Seriously worst airport ever. Third world countries have nicer airports than San Diego. For an airport in such a nice part of the world, how is it that your flights are ALWAYS delayed. And how is it possible that you have 1 TINY bathroom for 10 gates. Avoid this airport like the plague. Drive extra and fly into LA or Ontario.
Not a bad airport. Clean. Modern decorations. Wait times are never really bad.
Very easy airport to navigate. At times, they have volunteers providing assistance and information, which is very nice. Parking on site is never a problem, and the cell phone lot is awesome.
Pretty easy in
...Pretty easy out
Great staff, TSA is very nice if you are nice and corporative.
SD Airport has an ocean view and near downtown San Diego. I think this is one of my favorite airports due to the location and ease security check point. Will definitely be back in the future!
Modern airport with comfortable terminals and friendly staff. The shuttle service is efficient and user friendly.
Trip in and out was uneventful. Spent less than ten minutes, conducting my business.
Terminals 1 will be replaced soon. The airport is in the process of installing a Medium Voltage line around the circumference of the airport now to begin generating it's own power. Once that is completed the renovations really kick into high gear. The airport is run by very intelligent forward thinking people. Their ultimate goal is to make SDIA the most enjoyable airport experience you have ever had. Be patient. It all takes time and money.
Airport itself was fine for the 10 minutes we were there. The shuttle situation to get your car rental is the worst I have seen. Line a mile long not because of the volume of people.bur because the shuttles are barely coming at a snail's pace. We are contemplating paying the 10 bucks to take a Lyft over.
The airport and staff always provided me with excellent assistance and friendly care. I look forward to it again !
Still the worst airport to have a transfer at. You be better off transferring in Denver during a snowstorm
You have leave the secured area and go back through for transfers. Plan on a couple hours leeway.
Worst airport experience the TSA staff we so rude- almost seemed like they were having fun during the random pat down today at 5AM- will be avoiding this airport at all costs
Why does it show me how close I am to the convention center, the comic with Sandiego
Worst Airport Experience ever! I have been to some crappy airports before, but the overcrowded, dirty conditions of Terminal 1 was a nightmare. No where to sit, a very long line for the only restrooms, which were very small and dirty. There were so many people crammed into this tiny space and so much noise that I nearly missed the announcement that my flight was boarding. Which actually mattered, because I was stuck with the huddled masses on the other side of the terminal. Small cities in Argentina have better airports. All I can say is Wow! San Diego should be embarrassed by this place and shut it down. Horrible conditions...
Nothing open
No charging portals in the one restaurant that's open
Very well maintained airport. Westjet staff so helpful and nice.Very convenient we don't have to go to L.A.Just check restrooms for some people just are messy and throw toilet papers without care.
Love this airport. Free shuttle bus to pick up your rental car. Rental car center was located in one location and easy to get to. The airport was very clean, modern, and easy to get around. The staff is very nice and professional.
This is a small airport so the TSA agents here will try to hassle you to make up for the lack of passenger traffic at this puny airport. One agent took forever searching my bag before telling me what he was looking for (bike repair tools). The concourse is nothing to gloat about.
I really dislike this airport. No wifi. Open 24 hours HOWEVER no check in until like 5 am. Totally sucks.
Easy to navigate. Quick response in baggage claim. Overall a pretty good experience.
When making a connection at this airport, beware. There's no way to get from the low numbered gates in Terminal 1 to higher numbered gates in the same terminal without exiting the security area and needing to go through the security screening all over again. A potential disaster if you have a tight connection or delayed incoming flight. Whoever designed the layout was crazy.
