Good descent place but the traffic control near terminal 1 are unbelievably rude.
So disappointed in this place. The way they treat the elderly and disabled is ridiculous. Making them wait in lines forever unless they pay more money for priority treatment. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Dirty and the terminal I was in was overly crowded could hardly get off the plane and to our next gate.
I've been to airports in undeveloped countries that are far superior to San Diego. Massive overcrowding, poor layout, horrible archaic lighting that's of course very inefficient. Poor HVAC.
One of the better airports I have been to simple security with a nice open area with all the gates and food and snack stores.
Very nice airport, just wish the check in was easier and faster.
Not able to make a accurate comment it look net but I am really sitting in a side walk they probably should have welachair ramps that is the law in US
Have a good trip with good attention from the people here on the flight inside the plane Grasias to all its collaborators
Poor organization... Almost missed my flight due to race rental return being on the other side of the air field.
I really enjoyed the landscape of this airport. Refreshing!
Not impressed.....didn't see many places to eat when we landed, walked 18 miles through poorly placed signs to find my shuttle. Not the worst airport I have been in but needs a facelift to be tip notch
I was running late and it's unbelievable that they charge $32 a day for parking!
The people at Fox rental car is good people and they're real helpful
Quiet, clean and friendly and helpful employees. Great location.
No social distancing at baggage claim at all. Saw 2 people without
Had a extremely long layover after taking after taking a flight voucher for delaying my flight for 5 hours. Decided to step outside of the airport for ten minutes. Seemed nice. I remember seeing this Palm Tree and thought thats a rather nice looking Palm Tree. You just don't see Palms that perfect very often.
Average airport with hardly any "familiar" restaurants and limited options to begin with; so, it could be frustrating to find some good food.
However, beautiful city. TBH the food in the city, overall, is dull and basic, for a foodie like myself.
Not too big, not too small. They closed the Starbucks that's right at the front door so if you want it you may have to walk a bit. They have 2 Pete's Coffees though which in my opinion is better. Not a lot of places to eat are open but there's enough and some snack shops. Not as busy as usual but COVID so....
Have used this airport 3 times. It's beautiful, clean, organized. Two things that always irk me though, crappy wifi and the car rental shuttle..- the signing in required to obtain wifi is just a pain, but whats worse is that it randomly disconnects and you have to sign in again. The whole car rental thing, there's always huge lines, and once on the shuttle, it traverses parts of san diego streets that have high traffic. this causes a 15-30 minute delay. Fix those 2 things and you've got yourself a perfect airport.
I recently flew into San Diego for a trip up the coast of California. We did not have to wait long to get all of our luggage. Had to pay for a one of the luggage carts, which was a little disappointing.
They had volunteers here helping with directions. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. Helped us get to our car rental shuttle, which was only a short walk.
They've re-done the majority of the terminal, which is really well done. The runway is still very short (very quick landing, flying right over the building), and the pick-up area leaves much to be desired.
Real clean, easy to get around , parking is always available.. then the weekend comes around .
Not as crowded and more spacious gate seating than Terminal 1
I have been going here for 15 years now and I have never had a bad experience. The service is great, there is no shortage of food/stores, and it is really well kept. I am proud to call this airport my home airport.
Acceptable for being a boy, quick access to the parking lot but a bit expensive this one, 2 times I have gone to leave my husband's family but they thought it was good.
While the airport is small compare to the other large cities, it offers all the space needed for travelers coming or going. Some parts of the parking are currently under construction, so hopefully soon it would make it easier to park and fly.
Smaller airport, easy to get in and out of quickly.
The company was over and hour late for our pickup at LAX... The office number, no one picks up. They told us he was 20 minutes away, which was a huge lie! Poor organization isn't enough to describe how unorganized they are! I will be calling them for a refund. Do not use Selam Transport, take your business else where.. Trust me.
One of the most no-hassle airports I've been to. Relatively small compared to most cities. I love coming home to San Diego and being greeted by palm trees. Never had an issue with security and even showed up 30 minutes before a last-minute flight to Vegas with no ticket and still made it in time!
Awful !! Rude , will avoid this airport in the future
Nice clean airport, easy checking in and going through security
Need more rental car shuttles, waited 30 minutes when I arrived and almost 20 minutes when I was departing. The gate area was also very dirty.
Terminal 2 at the San Diego International Airport is well-designed and easy to navigate. The terminal is spacious add affords one the opportunity to walk and Window Shop well waiting for your departure. There is interesting artwork which is greatly appreciated. I just wish that the terminal 1, where Southwest Airlines is located, would get a redesign along the lines of Terminal 2.
covid has all airport personnel in a bad mood ...(almost like they dont want to be here, or they owe you a favor)..travelers are chill and social distancing.
It's a nice clean airport. Getting through security is pretty quick right now during this covid. Only part is boarding, everyone is military! Lol. I'm previous military myself so maybe I'm just jealous lol
Got kicked out at 1am after checking in for boarding 5 am ish.
The terminals are crowded and there are limited food choices that are crazy expensive.
Getting through TSA was quick but food prices was crazy high even for airport prices.
Limited in choice for somewhere to ha a meal while you wait for your flight. Enough seats around though to accommodate many.
At Terminal 1. It needs the coming rebuild. Flew out of it in 1966 and some parts haven't changed. It is convenient but going from one side to another means going through security again.
To my gay boyfriend in San Diego I can't remember your name but now I have millions! I want you to have everything! Dance the night's away
Came through here the last couple of years for Comic Con. A very nice mid sized airport to go through. Lots of interesting stores to see in the airport.
I have been to multiple International Airport but to date I think SFO I'd say is the best...it also has great transportation within airport
Very crowded, bathrooms need a little touch up, and military members should just have to show their ID to board between A and B and not be in uniform. You re not supposed to fly in uniform so that doesn t make sense. Workers were kind and helpful.
San Diego, California, is suitable for living in hot weather. The local food is American style and has a good taste.
Consider renting a car in San Diego because it is more economical and convenient than taking a taxi. You can get it at the airport.
Lovely airport, especially the Terminal 2 expansion. Well thought out road approach, except when you have to wait for a train to pass. Excellent selection of local food and drink companies. Quick to get from check in to your gate. Terminal 1 is a bit of a hot mess, but the airport management is aware and as far as I know are studying plans to demolish it and build a new one.
I have never waited for over an hour to get my luggage! Then no one knew the correct belt to send us to! Finally get my luggage an hour later and have to wait 30 mins to get out of the parking gate, which cost me $36....I just parked there yesterday! The worst airport ever!
I'm single and I'm looking for a beautiful woman that one
The United Club is recently renewed and, while not large, has all the features any other United Club has. It's at the top of the escalator across from the Delta club. Recently-installed Illy coffee machines improve the beverage experience. As with most other United Clubs (once inside) well beverages and soft drinks are free.
Recently the daily operations of the club were moved from their own employees to one of the two large national catering companies. I don't know how that will change the quality of the club experience for travelers. Time will tell.
Pretty good airport just a little dirty at the terminals, however there are nice shops, and the restrooms are clean.
This airport is nice and big but San Diego needs a bigger Airport!
One of the cleanest airports I have arrived in and departed from if not the cleanest. Quick service all around and it is very spacious so walking around and getting to every section was very convenient.
The San Diego airport in San Diego is a good one and has made many improvements in the last couple years. About five years ago I travelled to the airport from my home in Carmel Mountain Ranch and found there to be awful parking and I had to park in a completely different terminal and walk and walk and walk. There was a lot of construction back then and now it s different. There s nice new signage and ticket machines. The parking signs are easier to understand and I m able to navigate there a bit more easier. I have heard that the international terminals can be crazy and my sister had a very bad experience with their customer service there in the international terminal. My experience was only travelling domestic and it was ok. I was greeted by nice folks at the SW terminal and they helped me check my bags and off I went.
I would like to warn folks that the traffic can be challenging there during some busier seasons like the holdiays. I m glad I didn t travel this holiday season. I saw on the news there were so many people waiting for their flights and bad weather had the flights delayed! Sometimes the traffic can get backed up, so leave early during peak times!
Little nice airport, but there is something weird, if you are doing flight connection to gate 1 you have to go thru security again
Beautiful airport, recently completed. Very impressed with the layout. Very clean bathrooms.
Doing their best to keep us safe. Please to report I landed in San Diego from Seattle, face covering and social distance is required in both airports and on the plane.
Tiny airport that is just serviceable. Unfortunately will never have the capability to be a first class airport due to lack of space and single runway.
they spent a lot of tax payer money to rebuild this airport, but as we all know from the Soviet experiment is that it doesn't matter how much money you throw at something as long as you have incompetent people in charge.
It was our first time there, but help was right there. She must have noticed that we looked like two deers on the headlights!
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority was created on January 1, 2003, as an independent agency to manage the day-to-day operations of San Diego International Airport and address the region s long-term air transportation needs.
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is governed by a nine-member Board, with three additional members serving ex officio. Board members serve 3-year terms and may be reappointed.
Several awards highlight the great accomplishments at San Diego International Airport and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. Becoming the world's first LEED Platinum certified commercial airport terminal in 2013 is the most recent highlight.
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Board regularly convenes on matters connected to its state-mandated mission to effectively manage and operate San Diego International Airport and address the region's long-term air transportation needs. Additionally, an Executive Committee comprised of three Board members meet regularly to address specific areas of management.
Clean, very low key during the pandemic, places to eat were closed. The signage getting to places was very precise and clear.
Very clean, not crowded at all. Easy to get to waiting area in Terminal 1. Good experience.
Quite possibly my favorite airport. Clean, quick, and efficient. Can almost without a doubt show up within 1 hour of departure without any issues.
Very helpful and understanding since my mom and I are new to this.
Very clean and surprisingly uncrowded. Very close to hotels and the harbor. Not as many dining/shopping options as some airports but no lines at TSA and lots of room to stretch out and relax whilst awaiting you flight.
