One person I'd love to meet is the person who does the hiring of the green/red parking lot driver's. These are the friendliest, most professional and helpful people ever. They seriously do a great job of hiring this amazing team. There is more convenient parking at SAT, but I use the green lot because of the awesome bus drivers.

San Antonio International Airport is an excellent ...

San Antonio International Airport is an excellent airport to fly in and out of with tons of convenient vendors, shops, restaurants, etc. It has the convenience of a small city airport, with the space and comfort experience of a larger airport.

Let's start with Parking: They just completed the construction of the new Parking garage, and it makes the airport look and feel modern and lends to an easy in and out of both short term and long term parking being connected to the terminals via a pedestrian bridge. In addition to that, the Rental Car companies are located in the garage, so no need to go off site to rent a car. I have not used these as I live in San Antonio, but seems very convenient.

Terminals: Two terminals only. and Terminal 2 is exclusive to United and American airlines, which is super convenient. There is almost always no long lines to get through security at least in Terminal 2. The only thing about these is that both terminals are not connected. So, if you need to go from one terminal to the other, you will have to go through security again, but that is rarely the case, since airlines are separated by terminal.

Shops/Restaurants: In both Terminals, there are several good food and shopping options. These are all very clean and fairly newer facilities, so you can feel comfortable grabbing some food before you head out on a flight. This airport also has prices at normal retail prices for food and snacks, and there is not a huge mark-up which I have experienced at other airports.

Baggage: Baggage claims are easy to navigate as there are only 2-3 per terminal.

Transportation: UBER and Lyft operate in this city, so Ride Share pick ups are pretty easy and convenient. They also have various shuttles available, and they post/publish what a typical taxi ride to downtown should be so you don't get scammed. One tip: If family/friends are picking you up, it may be MUCH more convenient for you to go to departures level to get picked up, it is much less crowded usually.

All in all, San Antonio International Airport is pretty good spot to fly in and out of.

It s far better than it was. It s a smaller airport considering how big San Antonio is. I have very little complaints. The only issue is pick up and drop off areas, but that is the same at most airports. It always seems to be getting better each trip I take

Texas Monthly News employee Christen Jackson needs to be fired for taking a job that requires customer service and not being capable of meeting expectations.
This is 2017 and if you think customers won't voice their experience with crappy staff, you're wrong.
In the event that you are with another customer and a woman asking you to point her in the direction of coffee, just smile and point and return to your thoughtless conversation.
I'm not sorry Mrs. Jackson.

I have flown in and out of SAT many times and I'm always so pleasantly surprised how friendly and efficient every one is. Every time I've flown I've checked in and made it through security in under 5 minutes. If that's what you get with a small airport, than yes please! Even the staff at the airport restaurants are the epitome of service with a smile. I like Steak and Shake or Raising Cane's personally. Parking is easy and affordable. And airport drop off and pickup is incredibly easy to navigate. I've never had to deal with the rental cars, but the airport itself is a well run machine.

Drop off is usually pretty un crowded. Pick up is stressful and crowded though trying to merge to the right fighting all the taxis. I love that they have the cell phone waiting lot close by with plenty of parking.

Waited in line to request their bus service to a hotel, only to be told by the female attendant that I have to get my bags first. Upon returning to the desk, I was told I needed my airline boarding pass to get on the bus, so I had I get out of line again. Once the attendant looked at my boarding pass, she stated that "I wasn't lying". What that was about I do not know. She charged me $34 and others $24.
Last but not least, the driver states he was not be able to take me all the way to the hotel because of a parade and I may have to walk.
"Unbelievably awful service"!!!!

The airport itself is easy to navigate and never very crowded. If you're getting dropped off, is great, but the long term parking garage was poorly planned.

With a stroller, it requires quite a substantial walk and no fewer than three elevator rides to get to your car from baggage claim. It's no small feat to keep going children pointed in the right direction as you navigate through the labyrinth of walkways and elevators.

It's a shame the economy lots are closed right now because they're way easier to use (and cheaper) than the long term lot.

Ok I would give ZERO STARS for the movement in the arrival pick up. Come on SAT you can do better. Flying in and out is never a problem and it s a quick in and out. DO SOMETHING ABOUT ARRIVAL PICK UP ITS FASTER TO PARK AND WALK IN TO PICK UP THEN WAIT IN THE LINE.

United lounge is pretty bad when it comes to lounges. First of all, you need a membership specifically for their lounge, not one of the group memberships like priority pass... Then, once inside, their selection is super limited, and most of their drinks are premium, requiring you to pay. Basically, it's the worst lounge I've been to, but 2 stars because their customer service desk representatives were pretty good.

I have gone in and out of this airport many times over the years and have always loved how easy it is to get around. The people are friendly and will help you find what you are looking for. Each airline is it's own so their attitudes vary but the airport staff and TSA are really friendly.

I drive for Lyft & Uber. The pick up security rent-a-cops are VERY hostile and rude. When I am actively loading my customers they yell at me when I'm not right next to the yellow curb. Sometimes there is no place to "stop" and they expect us to leave our customers standing in 100 degree heat as we circle around the terminal. There are 3 open lanes and this is unacceptable.

If you are flying out of San Antonio, this airport is for most of you more practical than general aviation, a military aircraft, or wings. However, you do have a choice about whether to or not to drive here in your own vehicle. Go with "not". Their parking structures are expected to remain under construction until 2018, and you'll have to drive back to their outside lot and take a shuttle in and waste a lot of time.

Traffic police are ornery, not helpful. Always lots of traffic. Two terminals are on same road, have to go through term 1 to get to 2. Hard to find short term parking spot, especially close to elevators.

Clean airport.

Clean airport.
I like the kiosk set up at the Southwest baggage check. Very quick to get through this part.

I cannot give it 5 stars because every time I have gone through this airport and the last 2 years the TSA Pre line moves slower than the general boarding line.
I have even gone back out of the TSA Pre line and gotten in the general boarding line and gotten through security before the people who were in front of me at the other line.

So there's good and bad to San Antonio's airport: the Good is that it's small enough that there's virtually never a big line at security and you can show up 20 minutes pre-flight and still make it. Same with pickup and dropoff; it's a breeze.

The bad? Unless you're going to Mexico City, or staying within Texas, nothing is direct. Flights are pricey and require one, sometimes two, connections to get where you're going.

They updated the lot, so by my word I'm updating my review. It is much more modern of a sign and keeps you updated. It may have been just a changeover delay, but the lot is nicer and more convenient too.

Military matter? I don't think so. San Antonio take advantage for the miltary government because of money why I am saying that ? Because when you ask for help for our military always you ask for money. Costumers airliline service ask for money. .. even you have an emergency, people are rude in the airport and taxi driver are like bloodsuckers. You make me laughing with your billboard with the words :welcome to our troops! Welcome to San Antonio Miltary city ! you are just hypocrites!

The airport is a seemingly nice place, but it closes its terminal for two hours between 2am and 4am for no logical reason, forcing late-night connecting passengers to have to go through TSA again for no reason. I won't be flying through here again if I can help it.

False fire alarm after arriving at my gate. Had to go outside then back through security for second time. This is an ordeal for me since I have to have a pat down and bags sorted through, unpacked, everything scanned, etc. Hard for a Sr. citizen! I understand caution, but twice in one morning seemed a bit much!

Fantastic customer service and care. Of particular note the TSA is really organized, professional and quickly gets you through the security line...unlike Austin-Bergstrom which is an unfriendly, chaotic and disorganized and the TSA in Austin must have been selected for their sour attitude and rough manners. I will make every effort to schedule my future flights out of San Antonio International Airport.

San Antonio International Airport, is a nice place to get around & navigate, unique decor and nice art through out, open space, friendly staff onsite, amazing security & police and a nice place to wait for your incoming or outgoing flight. The only bad thing about San Antonio International Airport, is the chairs are very hard to sleep on but all in all San Antonio International Airport is pretty good spot to have a layover at.
