Samaritan Health Plans/HealthPartners Health Plans Review

Great place for community engagement and innovation!

They are so slow to respond to claims...even when it is too their own hospital.

This place has friendly staff and they will help you however they can.

I am on Medicare now and have Samaritan Advantage Premier Plus as my supplemental insurance. I love that it's local and affordable. I do wish the copays for specialists weren't as high, but I do understand having to raise our copays to $35, as Specialists have raised their prices so that their fees are astronomical. (However, they are in the Samaritan group.)
I'm glad premiums went down a little and that they added more features like a SamFit gym membership for free and more dental coverage. Now if they would add more vision coverage, it would be perfect!
Samaritan could offer vision insurance separately, I would definitely be happier because even though I'm a senior now, I still have the need to have my eyes checked and get new glasses.
My husband is going on Medicare soon and will be going with Samaritan Advantage, as he sees how happy I am being on it. It may come with a rare occasional frustration, but it is well worth having this provider as opposed to a big conglomerate provider.
In my opinion, I think the public on traditional insurance has more issues with any provider.

I am so happy so far. Haven't seen a physician yet but like all the extras I get with my health plan.

I have been getting "final notice" on bills that have been submitted twice to Samaritan. I am getting threatened with collection notices because you guys are not paying. Your bills are ridiculously complicated. It's hard to tell if you have paid and what you have paid. This is unacceptable. You do it because you can. Do you really need an entire cover letter with every bill.? Your IT department should be able to fix that. What a waste of resources. You are far quicker at responding when it is you that is owed money. *Update. You have time to respond to an online review, but according to the recording I have been getting since about 1:00 p.m., you are all in a meeting on a Friday afternoon. I am beyond angry. Someone needs to call me as I keep getting that recording. It is now 2:30. Wow,just wow. **Update. I called at 2:30. The recording says my wait time would be one minute. I hung up after 5 minutes. I did leave a message,however I hold no illusions about anyone helping me today. I get to stress about it all weekend. Thanks for being so concerned.~~ond? one. I will just talk to the State Insurance Commissioner about this. You are going to ruin my credit. Why will no one respond? Thanks for ruining my weekend. You don't care because you don't have to.*****AVOID THESE PEOPLE! GO ANYWHERE ELSE! THEY DON"T CARE! IT'S ALL ABOUT THEIR BOTTOM LINE***** Update 8/29.2018 I think they get paid by how much they can anger you. This nightmare has made me sicker. Do your job, that's all I asked. You guys suck so bad.

Still trying to receive reimbursement for optometric services. It's been a month and after several phone calls and emails...they can't find the copies of the forms and receipts, that I sent.
