Salty's is doing an excellent job of crowd management during their busiest season and implementing public health measures very well.
On top of that - food was quick and drinks were tasty! Staff even went the extra mile of plating two halves of a shared dish separately and it was perfect. Well done!

Great location, prices are a bit steep being that it's a bit of a tourist trap, but go during happy hour for a bit of a break, the food is decent but lacks refinement, i.e squid a bit too greasy or pizza too sweet. It just needs a bit of fine tuning. If your a tourist I'd say check it out and have fun and if you're a local you know there are better places close by
The patio at Salty's has, without a doubt, the nicest view of any patio I have ever been to...and that's saying a lot! Oh! And the service and food are also fantastic!
Thought I would stop by and try out this pub. Asked to be seated on the second floor patio, when me and my friend were sat on the first floor under the sun. A younger hostess greeted us, so i asked if we could be re seated. She declined and said we couldn't since we were already seated. We then waited for another 20 minutes without meeting our waiter so we left and found another pub.
Good atmosphere, good food. One meal out of four was cold but still good. Unfortunately, the Ladies bathroom was absolutely disgusting and therefore did not get 5 stars.
A 3 weeks ago I took my grandma out for dinner at Salty's. Everything was going well until after I paid for our meal the waiter came back and asked if she did something wrong. My grandma and I were confused because she did exactly what she was supposed to do. The reason why she ask this question was because she was upset that I tipped her $3. She basically was worried that she must of did something wrong for me to tip her $3. Then basically guilt tripped me into giving her more money. I have never had anyone do that to me before. And it's none of her business of the reason why I tipped her $3. That will be the last time I will ever eat at Salty's
We loved it. We tried a Cajun chicken salad and the steak both were delicious. We went back for lunch. The view from the patio is stunning. Clean washrooms and good service
The food here is really good. The Bahamas Breeze pizza and crab cakes are my favorite and worth trying. This place is always packed in the summer months so make a reservation or you will be waiting a while for a table.
Good service, terrible food. The tuna Mahi Mahi was overcooked... by a lot, but we were so hungry my husband ate it. The mashed potatoes seemed good but very familiar, like the common Sysco powdered potatoes. My hot pot was drenched in sauce ( like it's supposed to be) but the fish was also overcooked. Had the same meal the next day at the wine cellar which was twice as good.
I couldn't give them zero stars so 1 star it is. Being that Saltys has been a favorite of Penticton for years and boasts its quality seafood, I finally decided to try it and go all out. Surf and Turf. I spent 45 dollars on a steak and lobster dinner and that was regretful. The lobster tail came with absolutely no meat inside the tail. Its was blown right out and all 3 tablespoons of meat that was left was mushy, looked like it had been dropped on the floor, and tasted like chemicals. The restaurant offered nothing in the way of apology and told me it wasn't their problem that I didn't like it. So, needless to say, I will never waste my money at Saltys again and will advise anyone who asks to find a better place for their seafood. At this point I think buying a lobster from Superstore and making it myself is preferable .
I was told it is a local favorite and I could see why. We had great food and great service. We sat on the patio and had a fantastic view of the lake. The food and drink selection was great.
The food was alright and the service was somewhat friendly. But the friendly service was slow and not helpful. Fries were served cold and coleslaw was not given to us when asked for. Plus, many of their beers were not available. However, servers were compassionate and offered price discounts for the inconvenience. Would probably not go again.
Update... I went to Saltys this past year...and not only have they updated. I actually ate a decent meal there. Yay!!

No matter how many times I give you another Try. Your always the worst food in town. I am not sure where it states a roasted garlic is to be boiled? nor the quality of freshness that down grades everything. I suspect you have teens in the kitchen! I am always amazed that you are always filled. I guess tourist are just into the pirate gear, but not their tasted bud. Sorry, I so wish after the more than half a dozen attempts to enjoy your restaurant over the years. I will not eat their again if I don't have to. Thanks.
I was surprised, expecting a typical tourist experience. Instead the service was crisp and efficient, the food was very good. Tomato chowder was light, fresh and perfectly seasoned. Calamari was sparingly battered and perfectly cooked and the fish tacos were spot on. Add to that a great view of the beach.
Busy saturday night. Very noisy with the background music (?). Kitche decor like a European theme park. Food average although 148 $ for five people was OK including drinks.
The service was good and the atmosphere in the restaurant is good. Unfortunately the Pad Thai was not good at all. Others in my group enjoyed their food and the dessert was good, so hopefully it's just a matter of picking the wrong item.
For years I have said they have the best fish tacos in the world, every time we are in Penticton the fish tacos are a must HOWEVER the last time they told us we could not get the fish tacos without shrimp (this had never been an issue for years Prior). Very disappointed as neither me or my wife care for shrimp thus making the fish tacos no longer the best in the world. Was a sad day
Best service!!! Our waiter (I believe was his name was Matt) was amazing and not only had us giggling but he was so very attentive and always one step ahead of the game. Amazing food! Really awesome drinks and fantastic location cannot go wrong with Saltys in Penticton!
This was a wonderful treat. Dinner with an absolutely stunning view. Service was excellent, food and drinks were delicious, I have nothing bad to say about this place other then the fact that a person with a wheelchair wouldn't be able to experience this place fully.
We had a pretty good experience here. The food was good and our waitress was amazing. There was a bit of wait for drinks because the bar was a bit understaffed for the amount of people there but other than that the experience was great!
If its warm enough, sit on the patio and get a nice view of the water. Its worth it.
Love the atmosphere and the food. One of our favourites every time we're in the area. If you're not sure where to start with the menu, the fisherman's pot is outstanding!
Polite waitress, nice place. Dined as a family of four. Three of our four meals were adequate. The fourth, a blackened chicken salad, had no culinary signs, just a thick crust of spices. Waitress saw me dipping the chicken in my glass of water to remove some of the caked on spice but didn't bother to ask why. We will absolutely not return.
Normally, I would give Salty's a glowing review..however after my experience on Saturday July 6th.. that has changed. I had made a reservation approx 1 week prior for 15 people. I then spoke with a manager and changed our reservation to 20 people. This night out was for a friend's birthday dinner. On the night of the dinner, our reservation was for 7:15pm. Everyone was there by 7:30. They had set us up upstairs at high top ROUND tables, meaning every other person sat in a "crease" with no actual table in front of them (annoying, but fine.) Only 15 chairs had been provided, despite the reservation being adjusted and approved by a member of their management team.. still ok so far, it got sorted out and part of our party sat elsewhere. At the main table it took over 45min for a server to even take a drink order from us and well over an hour to get a food order taken. We had 20+ people and NO dedicated server, even though the restaurant had plenty of notice that our group was coming. There weren't even pitchers of water on the table. I sat down at approx. 7:20pm, and didn't have food until close to 9:30pm. At some points, the bar staff were standing around chatting and playing on their phones, despite our pending drink orders. People came, sat at the bar, ordered drinks, ate food, paid and left before any of us had even had an order taken. Overall this experience was very poor for our entire party and we were provided with no explanation or apology for the extremely poor service we were given. I have been a Salty's customer for years and I am a Penticton resident. In fact, we were all locals, and you know how word of mouth works..
The aptly named "Salty's" restaurant has left us feeling exactly that way.
No Regular Beer. Bud Lite, Coors Lite, Six of us old timers like regular beer not Crafted beer that is taking over Penticton. We will be Hanging out at The Barking Parrot for Bud Lite(also prices are lower). There local beer Called Parrot is not a bad crafted beer at 4.50 16oz any time. Also the food is good as well. Love Saltys location and food but not interested in Craft Beer. No Beer in happy hour menu ? Sorry Guys but us old timers like what we like and we live here all year!!
I've been dining at Salty's Beach house since the early 1990's and whenever we have friends staying in the area, it's one of the first places we like to take them for lunch or dinner. The food is always very good and it has a great beachy atmosphere, appropriate for it's name and location on the south shore of Okanagan Lake. We have found that the noise levels on the 2nd floor can be almost overwhelming when the restaurant is full, so we try to get tables either on the 1st floor or out on the patio, which is heated in cooler weather. The staff is always great!
