Generally the food is very good here and we usually have great servers. Only complaint is that it is pretty pricey and I'm not sure the value is where it needs to be. We'll be back again though as we love good sushi. For example, with the big Sashimi platters, you pay a lot and I'm not sure you really get as much as you should for the high price.

We ve always enjoyed Sakekawa, but tonight we did a pick up order. Got home noticed a part of the order was missing, called to tell them so they could just credit the account. But instead they offered to drive it out to our house. Great service.
Great food some of the BEST sushi I've ever had, amazing happy hour, beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff, just an overall consistently fantastic time
Went to dinner to celebrate with our son. Service was extremely slow. First hint of what to come was when I had to ask for napkins!! When only part of the sushi arrived, there was no side plates or condiments. While I was waiting for the manager to come, I found a long black hair on the table (I am bald!!). Bad choice. Manager did comp.
For a hibachi / sushi place, it is one of the better places in North Houston. The food is always great. The only variable is some of the servers are horrid. I'm not sure how the guitar player on the patio singing brown eyed girl plays into the atmosphere either but the food alone gets the stars
The service was wonderful, we had a large party and they were attentive and polite. The sushi (kim roll) was very good. The fried rice was very good too, not greasy like some places tend to be.
Very clean and nicely decorated restaurant. Staff was very nice and inviting. Always smiling. God was delicious. We had vegetable rolls, fried tofu, vegetable fried rice and everything was great.
The food was good...but the place was very cold. My waitress was rude...never offered me more to drink even though my glass was empty...will not be coming back.
Food was ok. Hibachi chef was good server was very were very confrontational. Had a sewage smell that would come and go. They don't have white sauce/Yum Yum sauce. We had been there before and it was better than this time. We will not be back.
January 2021. My wife and I went back to what we thought was one of our favorite restaurants and it turned into a very bad night. We called ahead to sit in the back where seat 114 is where we like to sit with good social distance. The young man took us to a seat right next to a 7 or 8 year old girl not close to our normal seats. I told him the seat was unacceptable and to het Tina the manager who knows us. He said we would have to wait as I saw the table we wanted was empty. His name is Joseph and he was rude and arrogant. We saw our great server Kai to serve us and Tina did get us to the right table and server. The dinner came and was simply unbearable to eat. It was so salty we simply could not eat it. Finally Kai said and then Tina said they would redo. We had our interest as our taste buds could not handle dinner. Kai assured us it would not be on our bill. A few minutes later he came with the check and they refused to take the dinner portion off the bill. Here we are, a loyal customer, a great server, and a dinner that was inedible as well as the Manager we knew. I asked them to take our dinners to the kitchen and taste it. In all my years as a CEO of a company taking care of new or loyal customers is key to success. Our server was embarrassed and at aloos for words. Tina did not have the courtesy to come and explain why it was ok to have them cook a new meal but not understand we just wanted to pay for drinks and the appetizers but sure expected not to pay for a dinner we did not eat. This is shameful and would have shown a little class. What they accomplished is losing a loyal customer. We are truly disappointed. Howard and Sharon
Firstly, when we were being seated a group of four, they placed 3 us on the side of the grill and 1 in the front when we asked to be moved to the four seats facing the grill they replied "no we need the room in case another party arrives". Keep in mind this was not a very busy time, there was one other group in the restaurant and they were already finished with their meal. We sat at the table for 45 minutes before we finally got a manager to come over because the waitress kept telling us the grill was warming up when we would ask what was taking so long. The grill we were sat at wasn't even working, so there's a whole hour and we've been served nothing but broth and beer. My mom finally convinced the manager that this grill didn't work. When we moved to another grill the chef came out very quickly, that's good, and he was very entertaining, the food tasted fantastic the only complaint I had about the chef is in the beginning when he was oiling up the grill and doing the big flame fire trick he splattered hot oil all over the 4 of us. It burned my boyfriend's cheek and chin, got in my eye, all over my mom's chest and ruined my dad's shirt. The waitress was not warm or friendly at all the entire time we were there. I would not recommend this place for hibachi, the regular dining might be different, at least safer, but I would not go here again.
Whenever we go, we always order BIG. I am used to waiting upwards of 30 minutes for the 10-15 rolls my family of 6 end up ordering. But NOT here! Sakekawa always sends out all of our food together, and in half the time one would think for such a large order. And the best part is they are always, without fail perfectly beautiful and delicious. I moved to The Woodlands in August of 2017, and have tried at least 10 sushi places in that time frame this is my favorite. Best variety of rolls, flavors always on point and best track record of consistent quality of product.
I do the chicken fried rice most times, and by most times I mean every time I call in. It s cooked to that blissful temperature that makes it just right as your Netflix companion. If you haven t tried it with Yum Yum sauce, you should tack that on to your list of things to eat before you start taking responsibility for how your winter bulk carried into July.
First, got seated and waited for about 20 minutes before seeing a family be seated, and served within a minute. Continued waiting another 5 minutes seeing others recieve their drinks. Came outside to find two staff members working a car, with the food preparation knife on his hip. Kinda disgusting, and now glad we didn't get anything. Picture for your reference. Eat elsewhere, don't get served road grime in an unreasonablely untimely manner.
Perhaps this was why the establishment was near empty?
The Gemini roll was absolutely amazing and I feel so full and my soul is complete right now. definitely coming back for a date! Amazing service and the water definitely isn't tap. Everything about tonight was great!
Worst hibachi experience ever. 6:30pm reservations with no dinner til 7:30pm. I expressed my concerns around 7:20pm with no apologies, no compensation on the bill. Another group was seated after us, served and finished before us. No explanation when I asked how that happened, given our reservations. We finished dinner at 8:13pm with 5 children under 18 years of age. Two of them were 1 & 2 yr olds. No manager came by to apologize or rectify the situation. I m very disappointed....
Food is Delish but service is a bit slow whether its ordering anything, or re-fills on drinks but waiters want to ask you if you are ready for the check constantly when clearly you are still eating lunch or dinner.
They weren't even using sushi rice. Every piece of fish had the same chili sauce on it, completely obliterating the taste. I spent the rest of the day nauseous. Awful.
ETA: actually I just redecorated the Kroger down the street. Don't eat here. Literal barf.
Great fun for the whole family! My 20 month old enjoyed dancing to the music especially. We had the steak, scallops, and sea bass and all were perfection!
The service was great and the sushi was delicious. The white dragon roll lead one of the best I've ever had. It was smooth, spicy and just amazing. I would love it if they had some Japanese whiskey to make the experience just that much better. Overall loved the restaurant. Thank you for making our date night special.
Came in a few weeks back. Enjoyed the experience and love the new location. Our waiter Joesph was Awesome! Thanks for telling us about the rewards card you guys have.
COVID updated review: Sakekawa has come in clutch for my weekend meal! I order on the phone and pay inside. Masks are required. Food is ready when I arrive! Quick, fast and efficient!
