The sushi was good, we tried 4 different rolls. The Yaki Udon noodles (with shrimp) and their stir fried rice are also really good. We have been back 3 more times in the past 2 or 3 months, and their food has not dissapointed us. They do special orders and if you want king crab instead of immitation in their sushi, they can replace with king crab for a significant upcharge. We have watched their hibachi chefs from the other side, and they seem to put on a good show of it.

My husband and I went to this place last night for the first time, great service, fresh and tasty food as well. We ve been to many other Japanese restaurants, but this one, to be honest, it is the BEST one.

This is really more of a 2.5 but Google won't let me do 1/2 stars. The service was ok, I had to ask twice for a spoon for my little one to eat but overall okay.

The reason I pay extra to sit at a hibachi is to be entertained. The entertainment value of this meal was nil. The chef didn't hardly talk or do anything. He was doing the train whistle while the volcano was on fire smh.

The chicken and shrimp were the best part of the meal. Waaaaay to much oil on the rice. The food was timed poorly and by the time the vegetables were done the steak was ice cold. They asked my husband if he wanted the sauce with his meal, he said no so they skipped the entire family. The steak portions were small and then my husband ended up with 4 of those pieces being the fat that should have been discarded. The vegetable portions were skimpy too.

Just not a great experience. Make sure you use your Yelp checkin to save some money on the trip!

We had a party of 7 and did the hibachi. The chef cooking for us was very nice and friendly, but also very skilled. Really good food!!! Would recommend this out of other hibachi restaurants. I would reccomend the hibachi teriyaki steak with fried rice. Also, put the mustard sauce in the fried rice. It is so delicious!!!

Great atmosphere and staff. Food is okay. They ruin it with copious amounts of butter and oil, leaving you somewhat regretting you ate there (or at least, that's what it does to me). Sushi may be a safer bet.

Food was excellent. Not up to par from their other location. Came for sushi and was sat outside, and unfortunately, 1 - felt like we got forgotten about, and 2 - the waitress may be better served in a drive-thru. Drinks never refilled, slow service, I didn't get my second roll until everyone else had been finished for quite some time. Also, table on the side of us was smoking and no one bothered to mention it

So first of all, the wait for our food was at least an hour, and at no point did our waiter come out to check on us. When our food was eventually delivered, there was a plastic label in one friend's soup, one friend's meat was cooked horribly, and all the rice was soupy and had some sort of weird flavoring on it. We asked to speak to the manager and were given the run around for at least half an hour; when we were finally able to talk to staff, we were insulted and yelled at for complaining about the service. Nothing was ever resolved, and we continued to be ignored even after being told someone would come talk with us. Never eating here again. Ever.

I ordered the sushi combo B, while the Octopus and the shrimp nigiri weren't very tasteful, the tuna nigiri did surprise me, I guess I can say it's better than most tuna nigiri in all the Woodlands. As for the salmon nigiri it is at the same level of most sushi restaurants in the Woodlands area. Now the Seabass did really surprise me. The taste was passionate and the intensity of the flavor did remind me a little bit of Japan, so I regard Sakekawa to have the best Seabass in all the Woodlands.

Friendly staff but not impressed with the food. The teriyaki steak was just ok and a bit overcooked. Fried rice definitely needed some help with the flavor. Spring rolls were the only thing I enjoyed. Overall not worth it in my opinion.

Manager began waiting on our table complaining he had a couple people that did not show. My wife and I got our drinks and soup, waited for our appetizers and dinner for a half hour, could not get managers attention after the soup, kept walking by us in a hurried frenzy. We've had a good dinner here before, but manager is oblivious when his people don't show.

This place was a treat for an anniversary dinner for me and my wife. She had never had Teppanyaki before (apparently called hibachi here, because America) so I had to show her. The restaurant was easily located, and has good parking. The decor was fair, and as expected. Hosts were friendly, and our waiter greeted us and took our drinks and appetizer order.

Our chef was the highlight. Typical teppanyaki flair and gimmicks, but very well done. My wife had a blast. We ordered some sushi, and the steak and shrimp (hibachi) dinner, and the seafood combo (hibachi) dinner. The chef cooked it well, and cooked it quick. The steak portion was a bit small and thin, and more of a medium well than medium rare as ordered, but very good in the end. I regret not getting the chateaubriand. Their soup included with the meal was incredible. Fried rice and the veggies also were well seasoned and cooked. Unfortunately while the chef was performing, the waiter ran off with my soup and salad before I was done. Big disappointment. Overall, we cannot wait to return and try more food. They have an impressive selection of sushi that I look forward to exploring in the future.

Sakekawa 2 Good restaurant!

Sakekawa 2 Good restaurant!
A little cultural enlightenment ...
The main difference between Hibachi and Teppanyaki is that the Hibachi is a Japanese heating device and Teppanyaki is a dish. The hibachi (Japanese: , "fire bowl") is a traditional Japanese heating device. ... Teppanyaki ( , teppan-yaki) is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food.
The increasing popularity of Japanese cuisine has seen an explosion of authentic Japanese restaurants across the globe.
This popularity has led many to delve deeper into the types of cuisine that have their origins in Japan with two of the most important being Hibachi and Teppanyaki.
However, for the novice culinary explorer, the difference between these two culinary approaches may seem, at least on the face of it, confusing.
An examination of both Hibachi and Teppanyaki reveals that the two approaches to Japanese cuisine have different histories and employ different techniques in order to deliver unique flavours.
In fact, even the grills that are used in the preparation of Hibachi and Teppanyaki are different.
Here are some facts regarding the difference between the two and how the equipment used to deliver the unique tastes of Hibachi and Teppanyaki differ.
And by the way, Hibachi is a salty dish, because only soy sauce and butter is used in the preparation, and Tempayaki is a more sweet dish, because soy sauce with sugar is used in the preparation!
Enjoy

Never again. Was there on 01/24/18. Had cocktails, 2 rolls, beef fried rice. All were excellent........until a tiny brown roach crawled across the table. I smashed it in my napkin and notified the waiter. He came back and when he lifted a plate to clear the table a second small brown roach was on the table. He tried to hide it but wasn't successful. I then notified the manager his response was almost as if it was normal for roaches to be walking across the table. I also have notified the health department.

I've been a long time customer of Sakekawa. My experience tonight completely reversed my opinion. After slow service, overcooked food, and minimal attention from our waiter, a member of our party confronted the manager. Upon confrontation, the manager laughed into their face, didn't apologize, and ignored our table. A wild experience from start to finish. My friends, family, and I will not be returning to this location.

One of the best Sushi restaurants north of the beltway. They have a large sushi menu but perhaps best of all, you can actually order your own custom sushi roll. No more having to pick a roll that is close to what you want, just select the ingredients and they will make for you. One tip though, write it down for them on paper to make sure the chef knows the details that can get otherwise lost.

Service and food was amazing! They were very knowledgeable about food allergen issues and made great and appropriate recommendations. Only concern was we were charged normal price during happy hour, other than that it was great!

This place went way beyond my expectations. I'm a pretty picky sushi eater, but the food here is quality! The seaweed salad and squid salad was some of the best I've had. The rolls I had were very good, and so many creative options. All the food was very fresh and clean. Service was friendly and attentive. Might be one of my new favorite sushi joints in the area...

The food and service was good as always. Although, there was a bad and lingering smell in the restaurant and felt no air conditioning. Also, the sushi rolls should be served how they are presented in the picture menus
