Beautiful spots not to miss if you want to see a real dessert beauty
Nice, clean trails with varying lengths. Beautiful cactus!
Cacti were amazing. Rangers were super friendly and helpful
Very nice place to go and visit and spend the day..
When one considers the lifespan of the saguaro cactus and the complex process of how one reaches maturity, and odds of one ever surviving it is amazing that any exist on the plant. Now consider the harsh environment of the desert and your head is spinning with all the complexities.. Now you may ask what did all that mean? It means a night blooming cactus, pollinated by bats, needing protection from the sun for many early years, then full sun after that in conditions with so many variables, it sa wonder any have survived, yet the park is so full of vistas and thousands of big saguaro.
The loop trail is one way and really gets cooking about half way through The overlooks are spectacular, looking across the cactus up the hill in one direction, across the desert to the mountains in another, and across Tucson in another. What ever you do, come early or late as the most bird action comes then. When you drive through stop. And I mean stop, motor off and and wait. Wait several minutes quietly and things just get better and better. The bird noises, the small animal action (it you are lucky), the birds in flight just grow and grow. The more patient you are the better it gets. Take a hike, take a bike, walk the loop, walk in the wild, drive the loop - any way you do it this is a spectacular piece of the wild Arizona desert.
If you are in the Tucson area and love hiking, would definitely recommend this national park! Rangers are knowledgeable and there are a variety of trails for various levels of experience
Too many trails and stuff to do, definitely have to go again!
Went with friends to visit and they knew where to go. Get off the main road and away from any crowds that might be there. Delightful places to picnic. Excellent overview in the welcome center. Would not go when the weather gets hot, unless you stay in the car. Pets can go if they are on a leash. March was beautiful with blooming plants all around.
It's a place of beauty. Considering the cacti were once trees and adapted to the environment is amazing.
excellent to see the cacti and much more it is beautiful I recommend you visit with your family friends or honeymoon
Loved it, and took some great pics
If you love the western look and a view of the mountains this is definitely your place.
A great place to go hiking and get away from the city ! The Sonoran desert is amazing !
We recently visited Saguaro National Park with our 2 year old son. We decided to hike the petroglyphs trail because it was relatively short (little legs can't walk too far!). The park is beautiful. I loved driving through the curvy roads. The road to the petroglyphs was remote-it was a dirt road with a lot of pot holes. But I'm glad we went. We were the only people there, so it is an ideal place for social distancing. Bring a lot of water. We had a great time!
Beautiful park. Nice for a drive through or stop and have a hike. Staff at the visitor center very helpful. Take plenty of water on hikes.
Definitely put this park on your bucket list! The cacti are incredible, and the information center has a lot of interesting information on them. If you come to hike, make sure you bring plenty of water and sunscreen! We walked only about half of a mile with partially filled water bottles and after felt pretty terrible. Well worth the visit for the gorgeous vistas, though--just come prepared!!
Love the hike near the edge of the mountain. U can run down if ur into that lol
Don't miss this if you haven't been and are in the Tucson area
Beautiful views. Educational. Even the drive to there is gorgeous.
Beautiful diversity of cactus. Beautiful landscape a few kilometers from Tucson.
I visit this park several times a week. Good variety of trails.
Amazing national park with a great hike to Wasson peak
Greatest spot on earth. I just keep coming back. Never disappointed.
This was a beautiful park filled with some old and unique cacti. They had a drop off overview lookout that took my breathe away.
A great place to visit. Plenty of hiking and camping to do.
Really enjoyed this place. Very kid friendly, lots of hikes, nature parks and very close to Tucson. We had a picnic which was at the end of one road and it has heaps of facilities, hiking and rock climbing for the kids. Some of the roads are paved, some dirt but very safe and easy to navigate.
Must see when visiting south ARizona, very friendly place, amazing valley view, great collection
Both districts are great. If you don't do long hikes you can see both of them in a day. The light in the late afternoon is amazing. Ingress has a fee but the interagency national park pass works here.
Hike hike hike, great spot but shh, don't tell anyone.
Definitely recommend the 7 mile round-trip hike to Wasson Peak. If RV camping check out nearby Gilbert Ray, it's an awesome camping spot!
If you like this unusual big cactuses this is place for you. Hiking trails are good and road has plenty of pull over take pictures spots.
Great trail with varying degrees of difficulty. Views of the city and the Catalina mountains from the Rincons.
The heat is so lovely. Our guide, Bob, was a great help. Bring plenty of water.
So many beautiful things to see the views are beautiful the wildlife and plants are incredible a must-see

Great area for a walk-in. Views and wonderful Saguaro Forrest
Beautiful. Wear walking shoes (no flip flops) and bring water. Worth the trip. 10 dollars per person or 20 dollars for a carload.
Beautiful views, great places to walk/hike. New challenges
I love this place. The great Saguaros are everywhere you look with photo opportunities especially at sunset/sunrise.
This place is outstanding. A diamond in Tucson. The Golden Gate drive is outstanding. The best way to see the park is to hike a bit and to also ride your bike in and around the park and up Gates Pass!
Nice loop drive at the East part of the park. Great place to visit from Tucson, short 20 min drive. Sunset is beautiful low traffic and great place to see the sunset. Be careful when you hike to avoid the cactus needles if you hike. The needles can be painful and uncomfortable.
This was a really fun road trip. The park was amazing. We stopped at the the visitors center and we took several hikes. We took way more photos than expected... it was just that beautiful. The park is quite close to Tucson, so we stayed in Tucson and traveled through the park during the days. I would not hesitate to go back for another week.
Great park! Great views! Definitely recommend to check out the visitor Center! Good options for family picnic.
Gorgeous landscape, well kept roads and bathrooms, desolate spaces. Since it is pretty hot in August and September we were some of the few who braved the heat. Totally worth it to have the park to ourselves !
